Hello,
I was trying to install a stock android on my samsung galaxy s3 clone, with MTK6575 as it had a chinese/fake 4.04.
Long story short, I was following this bm smartphonereview guide to with Smart Phone Flash tool and used one of the boot img from colonel zap's blog, and my phone is bricked.
I can get into download mode but not more than that. The Smart Phone Flash Tool recognizes my phone, and I've been trying to flash different boot.img and different preloaders and recovery files but it hasn't helped.
I'd appreciate any tips as I would like to not have a $200 paperweight.
edit: I flashed it with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32468798
edit 3: I found this http://www.movilesdualsim.com/foro/threads/14127-(Ayuda-ROOT)-GT-I9300-android-(clone)/page5 the gguy posted his stock roms. However now the SP flash tool says, "cannot pass bootrom start command" and exits.
Thanks!
Anyone?

Hi, need help to root a Goophone i5. I've tried several ways but with no success.
It's a mt6575 (mtk6575) device
Iphone i5
MZ
Armv7 rev 10(v71)
Android 4.0.4
Kernel 2.6.35.7
ALPS.GB2.MP.V2
Tried several "oneclick" software, by ADB Shell, MTK DroidTools, SP Flash tool, and are now into cygwin/Android kitchen
Anyone that can help?
I kind of need proper guide since I'm not very good at it (but learning more for each day)
I can do a scatter file but not flash a new recovery.img
Thanks
UPDATE
Final sucess!
I followed the instructions for "unsecure boot.img rooting" on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923764
Then I used the "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18"
Remember
Make sure you have working ADB and VCOM drivers installed.
Force installation with start/run/hdwwiz (or hdwiz)
root

hi please give some advice to root
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
This is for the MTK6575 Goophone i5 with the specs listed above - I tried it on mine and it worked!
Credits go to ColonelZap and TPSparky
First of all, go to the settings - Developer options and check "USB debugging":
Your phone NEEDS to be recognized as an "ADB Device" on your pc (under Control Panel > Devices), or else this won't work!
Download this ROOTING SCRIPT
Unpack the RAR.
Double click the TPSparkyRoot.bat
TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Your phone will re-boot several times, be patient!!!
On success, your phone should now have a "Superuser" app installed and it should be rooted
YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

I have question about rooting android device. I searched all formus but i didn't find any answer. I'm trying to root my device Coby Kyros MID1060
Mobel nr. MID1060
Android verison: 4.0.4
Kernel verison: 3.0.8
Build number: 20121205
I tried a lot of rooting solutions: Z4root, SuperOneClick, Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry....Nothing works -.-
Z4root suddenly stop working when i click temporary or permanent root, SuperOneClick doesn't work after 5# step, I don't know why....Bin4ry root also doesn't work.. first there are a lot or errors, sometimes when I click "restore data" 2nd time, it doesn't do anything; but when it does, a lot of errors and "permision denied"...
I also tried to root it myself under linux with adb... I successfully copied all needed files, but when I tried to run ./psneuter i got this "failed to set prot mask" and nothing works again....
I'm noob in rooting world but how coul'd this be possible, that nothing works on my device??!!! I searched all web and there is no root.
any help?

Hi guys. I have this device too. This is using an AMLOGIC AML8726-MX chip. Got my device rooted using the instructions here in JBolho's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146226. Glennski's kyros was rooted using this method too.
Regarding GApps, I don't know if it will work for everybody but I got mine to install GApps by first changing the model info and fingerprint in the build.prop after I rooted the device. I used a Google certified device. But I suggest to backup your build.prop first. Then I downloaded the latest universal ICS package in http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps. I'm new at this so I placed the zip file in an external SDCARD and tried to update from recovery same as the rooting steps. But it didn't work, so extracted the gapps zip file on my SDCARD, copied the files in the system folder, and then pasted them on my root's system folder. Restarted the device and that seemed to do the trick.
Anyway, try at your own risk.
I'm currently looking for the build.prop file of the Kyros MID1065. The 1060 and 1065 seems to have the same hardware but the 1065 is Google certified.
I have stock 1060 files.contact me on privat and give me mail and i will send you file.

Hi Global, if you know a way of copying the original rom can you tell me? My coby got wicked and sent it to warranty, they changed everything inside. Now I've got a completely new tablet with original software.
If you know a way of backing this all up tell me how and I'll share it with you

Hello! I've a backup from other MID1060, but after restore, the tablet only turn on with light on, no image. I have image only, when a put the sd card with the recovery, the tablet full restore the update.zip, but after reboot only have backlight, no image.
I've tried several roms with usb burning tool, but is the same, no image. I need a stock rom MID1060 to flash with usb burning tool.
I need the correct u-boot-orig.bin, usb_spl.bin, uImage_recovery, update.zip, and correct config_progress.xml. I tried mix several u-boot-orig.bin, usb_spl.bin, uImage_recovery, and correct config_progress.xml, from other roms, but after flash with usb burning tool the tablet don´t turn on. The only rom i can turn it on and went to recovery is the stock rom of Viewsonic VB 80a PRO. I go try find the ViewSonic VB100a Pro stock rom and flash it, to view whats append.

Hi every one,
I've Huawei Honor running ICS 4.0.3. I'm having a problem in installing custom recovery.
Here are details of my phone:
Android: 4.0.3 (Rooted through this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28403132&postcount=799)
Baseband: 404029
Kernel: 3.0.8-perf-00061-g97a3097
Build No: U8860IV100R001C388B930
When I go to pink screen process to replace recovery.img, no drive displays in my computer. PC installs some drivers but no drive displays. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
I'm a newbie and knows not much about these things but trying to learn hardly
As far I know after reading posts, I should have B919 rom installed to accomplish this. If I'm right, tell me and If I'm wrong, please guide me.
Thanks a lot.

U must first downgrade to b919 .. and than go update or flash recovery
Ok so I flashed a custom rom on my phone that I got from here which turned out to be a mistake because ever since I did this I keep getting
- Phone standby
- Phone idle
These 2 things drain my battery like a $2 prostitute and its really been pissing me off because I cant keep my cell charged. I did back up my phone with the mtk droid tools b4 flashing this rom but now when i try to flash the old rom back on it will no work and again have no idea why.
what I need is a working version of the stock rom I can use in the sp flash tool so hopefully someone can help me and has kept there stock rom because honestly im very pissed because if i cannot get rid of these phone standby and phone idle then im gonna throw this phone against a wall because that is all it is good for after that.

The rom was created with MTK Droid Tools v.2.51 & read back successfully with SP Flash Tool v3.1328.0.183.
Please take care when flashing the rom, as per Dr Moo Savi's excellent tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982587
Some experts advise to uncheck PRELOADER before flashing, as an incorrect PRELOADER will brick your device. Other forum members much more knowledgeable than myself, can comment on this.
