Hi every one,
I've Huawei Honor running ICS 4.0.3. I'm having a problem in installing custom recovery.
Here are details of my phone:
Android: 4.0.3 (Rooted through this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28403132&postcount=799)
Baseband: 404029
Kernel: 3.0.8-perf-00061-g97a3097
Build No: U8860IV100R001C388B930
When I go to pink screen process to replace recovery.img, no drive displays in my computer. PC installs some drivers but no drive displays. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
I'm a newbie and knows not much about these things but trying to learn hardly
As far I know after reading posts, I should have B919 rom installed to accomplish this. If I'm right, tell me and If I'm wrong, please guide me.
Thanks a lot.

Hey folks,
First of all, I know this has probably been asked a gazillion times before, but here goes again lol.
I'm no noob when it comes to rooting, but this is the first time I'm trying to do that on a Nexus S, and I don't want to brick the phone.
This is what it says when in bootloader:
PRODUCT NAME: HERRING
HW VERSION: REV 52
BOOTLOADER VERSION: I9020XXKA3
BASEBAND VERSION: I9020XXKF1
CARRIER INFO: EUR
LOCK STATE: LOCKED (obviously lol)
Android version is 2.3.6
Build number: GRK39F
Is there a thread explaining how to root it and if so just paste the link here. You don't have to go into trouble explaining step by step.
I've read the 2 threads I could find on rooting it, but the problem is I have no idea which model it is (I9023 or other.)
Thanx a lot for your time.
check out nexusshcaks website.. he has explained everything.. with videos.. updated.. plus reviews of some gud roms as well..
Thanx a lot. I found those vids and am about to do the root. Can I flash any of the ROMs from here?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I have found that most of the ROMS posted here work just fine, save for a few glitches depending on what provider you're with. Happy rooting!
Ok so I rooted and backed up the ROM I currently have, installed superuser, installed latest clocworkmod recovery and now when I want to flash a ROM, I reboot into recovery and get a triangle with android, which I guess means recovery isn't working. What now?
bro i have been in your shoes when this had happened to me, i cant exactly remembered how i fixed it, but this is what i remember:
1. Get Root Explorer
2. Open that app
3. Navigate to /system/etc/
3. Find a file named “install-recovery.sh”
4. Rename it to “install-recovery.sh.bak”
if you want it more detailed i can help
With stock ICS, every reboot destroyed my precious ClockworkMod recovery. I knew that there was a fix a la allenxx's helpful post above, but I ended up just reflashing recovery with fastboot when I wanted to mess with the custom recovery until I finally flashed a custom ROM (CodeName Android), which solved the problem for me.
Hi,

Hi,
Well firstly I now have the full firmware from Cash Crusader and am developing the new upgrade to be released tomorrow for it.
Anyway to get the drivers working is simple enough just download rkbatchtool. It has the drivers in the USB folder
EDIT* Added driver.zip to the post

Hi there,
I have the same tablet bought for my son, it doesnt want to boot
How does one get it to boot in recovery mode?
this wil be a great help to me
Thanks
I have tried and tried several solutions all over the place to update. Nothing is working or maybe I am not understanding any of it. PLease please please someone help me with step by step process of updating the phone without having to unroot and root. It was days of efforts for me to get it rooted. would hate to go through that again. I am a rookie at this, so please bear with me if I am not able to understand some super techy words.
here's what I have:
One S from t-mobile.
Rooted. Have TWRP and SuperSu. Also have Titanium Backup Pro (set to backup weekly).
I think I am on stock ROM (how do I check that?)- unsure.
From the "about" phone:
software information:
Android version: 4.0.4
HTC sense version: 4.1
Software number: 2.35.531.7 710RD
HTC SDK API level: 4.23
HTC extension version: HtcExtension_403_1_GA_20

You need to have stock recovery to flash the ota update and it shouldn't remove root.

Pardon me for my ignorance. But...
1. How do I get stock recovery?
2. what next, lets say I get stock recovery. Do I run the OTA update? and then.... do you mind laying out some steps for me please. TIA.
Here for stock recovery, http://www.mediafire.com/view/?d8velqlrjor0wx9. Flash it with the all in one toolkit. Get update and let it update for you.
Hey man if u need some help holla my way I can walk you through it you want it rooted w/ a custom ROM its just better that way
Sent from my One S using xda premium
Not getting it still.
This is what i did.
1. I have phone connected to laptop. USB debugging on. on Data mode (as opposed to charge only).
2. downloaded stock recovery from the link specified above. it is called recovery.img. I have it on my computer's c drive. Also transferred it to phone's download directory. wasn't sure where i store it.
3. downloaded all in one kit on my pc.
4. clicked on "your own recovery". The phone went to bootloader mode. Meanwhile, my pc came up with a dialog box for me to pick recovery. i chose the recovery from my c: drive (phone was not even an option to pick from). it keeps asking to burn recovery.img to D drive (my dvd). no other option for me to chose. doesn't matter what i hit - burn or cancel. it keeps asking me the same thing.
something is not right.
Search for 'fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img' then...
I've just received my OTA KitKat 4.4 update on my HTC One, but it won't successfully install. i tap "install now" on my phone, the phone reboots and goes into TWRP recovery. i found the zip file, flashed it with TWRP, and it seems to have unpacked it because i now have a file with the same name as the KitKat 4.4 update zip file that contains a "META-INF" file and a "patch" file, but when i reboot system, i'm still running Android 4.3 with Sense 5.0 according to Settings>About>Software information. what is going on? am i doing something wrong? do i need to relock my bootloader? uninstall TWRP? if i do need to uninstall TWRP, then how? i don't even see it listed under Settings>Apps. i was really looking forward to running KitKat and i've been trying to update to it all night, so much so that my wife is now mad at me for spending so much time "playing" with my phone! if anyone can help me, i would greatly appreciate it. i'm a newb when it comes to TWRP, but i've had an HTC Tilt, Tilt 2, and a Vivid, all unlocked, rooted, and with custom roms. i was even trying to learn to cook my own roms for my Vivid, so i know (basically) what i'm doing, but i am familiar with using the "install from internal SD card" option in recovery, which i don't even have anymore. now when i enter my bootloader, scroll to "recovery" and select it, my phone boots up into TWRP recovery, which i'm not liking thus far. seems like more of a pain than the simple "install from internal SD" process that i'm familiar with. i'd much prefer to use the process i'm familiar with than TWRP if that is possible. if anyone can help me with any of these issues, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do so. reply to this post, pm me, or email me. doesn't make any difference to me. i'll take any help or advice i can get at this point!

Hey first time posting on xda devs and would like to know how to unlock bootloader, root the phone, and install custom ROM.
Now I have spent entire day backing up and searching the different people root but if someone can help me and point me in the right direction that would be great.
So I have a S3 from ATT Model: SGH-I747, Version: 4.1.2 JellyBean, BaseBand Version: I747UCDMG2, Kernel: 3.0.31 - 1300972. It is a stock ROM, I have never done anything to the phone at all before.
Now I will admit I followed a youtube video call "How to Root AT&T Galaxy S3 SGH-I747!" by High on Android and I did everything in the video. I used odin v1.85, I did the PDA to the CWM.tar file, phone rebooted and I added the CWM superuser file and that is when I tried to get to CWM recovery mode and all I got was the phone's default recovery mode and not the CWM one.
From what I understand I believe I need to unlock bootloader first, but again this is a my first doing this and I hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Forum post state that you should follow guides that is exactly the same to the phone you would like to install custom ROMs.
Honestly I would like to ultimately be able to install a recovery mode that works with my phone that I am able to create snapshot image of my stock phone in case anything happens or I would like to go back to my stock image (which I highly doubt if everything goes fine) and install a custom ROM (I know there are different ROMs if someone can point me to where I can check out all the custom ROMs and not necessarily install those custom ROMs that would be awesome) and finally get rid of ATT loading screen when booting up the phone and install a custom boot loading screen, but of course I care more about getting the custom ROM install first.
If anyone can help that would be great.
