Hi, just want to share this to everyone who wanted a quick way in checking the Note 2 (n7105) features using a S3 i9305. Consider this as an experimental release, so don't expect much out of it, nor updates to be released. Also, the performance is not yet optimized for i9305.
My primary purpose for it is to explore what n7105 has; what works and not. I'll base my future works on the outcome of this rom. I'm still a newbie in the android development field though.
For i9305 users in the Philippines, it allows you to access 4G LTE* capabilities (as no official i9305 firmware was released for Philippines, nor any other firmware that seems to works with 4G LTE signal)
*Tested to work with Globe Telecom's LTE using a LTE nano-sim (fitted with an adapter of course)

Just a clarification, you mean the i9305 cannot get an LTE signal from Globe by default even if it is known as LTE-compatible?

Yup...well at least I tried. If I have an official firmware for i9305 (say from SingTel) and use a LTE nano-sim from Globe Telecoms fitted with a micro-sim adapter I can call and send text messages but cannot connect through mobile internet. Cannot even access "mobile networks" from settings as it give the error "insert sim card to access network settings"

I have no idea too. Technically it should work since i9305 supports LTE Band 3 (1800) which Globe Telecom is supposedly utilizing.
They might have done some modifications on the official n7105 DMC3 firmware since before it was released, Note 2 LTE users from the Philippines are also having the same problem. I'm currently comparing the framework values so I could port it on the official i9305 system.
Sir is your nano LTE sim came from iPhone 5? If not, could you try to borrow and check on your unit if LTE will now work? Thanks!!

Yup tried that using the HK BMC1 firmware , can't even access "mobile networks" settings.
Not a bad idea indeed... I'm using this ROM for about 10 mins and this is my first toughts... Love the concept of the ROM. First, noticed more natural colors than in stock SGS3 ROMs, in default-standard mode. 2 Note's wallpapers are beautiful. Now, some issues... LED indicator is not working (while charging). Mobile data - network connection is behaving weird... It started from "E" to "H+" and after that 20s "mix", it's finished with "3G" (which really don't like). The last, probably not the least, flashing this ROM destroys the whole internal memory of the phone, so BEWARE of that guys (luckily for me, I made a backup on PC)!!!
One more thing... "Ink effect" is working, but with no colors, it is transparent!

Is the problem of the i9305 connecting to Globe's LTE confirmed by everybody using the same phone? Or is it just an isolated case?

Thanks. Have you encountered many people having this issue with the original firmware? Please don't get me wrong, I believe your claim on the issue, I just want feedback from other people with i9305 (that makes the sample size bigger, which is better)
yep no worries. I've read about the same problem in another forum though.

Laggy performance
Hello there..
I was on stock ICS.. i installed the stock JB and the performance was very laggy even worse than Honeycomb, i was advised to backup my apps via titanium backup, wipe cache and date from the cwm recovery and restore my apps again. I successfully did that and the performance was a bit better but lots of apps crash and restart, the biggest problem is when i open any app specially a web browser then go to home screen or use another app for a while and get back to the browser again its like i open it from the beginning "the browser tabs reloaded and if a game it restarts".. This problem was on honeycomb and was solved by installing Go Launcher and was fully solved by installing the ICS.. Is there a solution for the JB?

check at the setting about device... and look at the model... if its state there 6800. then it will be compatible. no matter where the device origin... the only different of each region release are the content/bloarware from local telco and language support. other than that the device are basically using the same firmware.

Check your APNs. If there's nothing under the APN settings try the "Reset to Default" option. If that doesn't work, you'll have to Google the APN settings for your service carrier and input them manually. Or, better still, if you can find the apns-conf.xml that is specifically for your carrier download that and install in /system/etc then set the permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot.

hmm not sure what i'm doing here. reset to default gave me no luck. After manually entering ATTs info and selecting save from the menu, no APN shows up in the 'list' i supposedly just populated with an entry. Searching for available networks also leaves the phone searching seemingly indefinitely, which would work just fine before installing the JBX. As far as copying an xml into that directory, not sure how to do that.
And as I was trying to use USB mass storage for it it won't work for me either. I'm gonna have to give up on the JBX kernal, time to find a non kexec to resolve these battery issues. thanks for trying.

Alright, I'll give that one a shot. Thanks.
When i was attempting to use the USB before I would bring up the dialog for it, then Click "turn on USB" then it would give the warning saying apps might not work, etc, then click ok to that and then it would engage. Witht eh JBX on mokee or liquid, clicking "turn on USB" would just sit there with the loading circle indefinitely.
Gonna hit up CM within the next day or so see how that goes.

are you using battery friend?
hi guys, hope you are fine.
the problem is the 4G doesn't work on my nexus 5, if i go to network settings i found that the LTE is active, the carrier network which i use, supports the 4G, and 4G coverage available, and the 4G bands are 1800 MHz and 800Mhz are supported by the phone and the carrier, but i only got the letter H ( mean 3G ), i took my phone to a technical and he said me that my phone needs a flash (ROM), but he said me that currently he haven't the ROM.
i hope that you can help me to make the 4G works on my nexus 5.
Thank you in advance.

yes friend i have tried before, and it's works on note 3 and phones that's supports 4G
Same problem here
I have the same problem, it is very frustrating.
The phone manages to connect to 4G, but there must be something missing as I don't get any data, sms or phone calls. There usually is a '!' next to the reception bars, it delivers nothing and I end up forcing it back down to 3G when it doesn't do it on it's own.
I am in Australia, and recently moved to a plan with 4G on the Vodafone network. The N5 should cover all those bands and the device is known to work well in these conditions.
I have always been running stock Android and have the same baseband version and build number than the OP. Same result on Android 6.0 and 6.0.1
The SIM delivers 4G with no problems when put in an iPhone 5. There is good coverage where I am.

This Is Important:
The lockscreen can not be used on this rom due to the inability to edit the kernel on our phones. I included a third part lockscreen app it may lock during setup just unlock it. This part is very important once the phone boots up go through setup when finished go directly to settings/lock screen and security and change lock screen type to none. Then open HILocker and set up the lockscreen or download a different one. If you try to use the stock lockscreen it will freeze phone upon reboot and you will have to start all over. Also I currently dont have my S5 activated so you will have to let me know if data and sms/mms work. This rom is considered in the Beta Stage so things may not work and may never work because of our locked bootloaders. Thanks @kxhan15 for doing some testing for me

Hey mate @jrkruse thanks for your rooting tutorials on pb1 rom, it really helped,
I decided to flash this rom with safestrap ,
i flashed G900V_Fix Safestrap.zip
Then the Rom
Everything went well but the device won't recognize my Sim Card i don't know if it's a modem issue,
But have moved back too pb1 as this phone is my daily Driver,
Why do you think i have the insert sim issue ?

Do you have a verizon S5? If you goto settings/about phone if your baseband shows up the your modem is fine. If you delete SecSetupWizard2015 from the system/app folder it should remove the the invalid sim message. Other than that I dont know
Just a quick question as to what is the correct baseband for this ROM.
Settings / about shows I'm on baseband
G900VVRU2B0K3 - Is this the correct BB version?
Also when I follow the instructions to fix MMS via Galaxy tools, send & receive MMS still fails.
Appreciate any insight & I can't thank you enough for continuing to bring the awesome goodies for the Verizon S5

I tried to reboot it just does the same, it gains and loses network in seconds, Just like a off and on cycle
sorry for bad image quality , but thats the only means which i could share

To God be the glory, my SlimRoms project finally works!
Sleek, simple, slim, SLIMROMS. This is the lightweight champion of cell phones! Not another CM based rom, SlimRoms is based off of AOSP source, with custom edits for a smoother, simpler interface. If you are looking for every feature, check out AOKP, or PAC ROM, but if you want to step back into the simple life with your phone, then this is the Rom to do it. Some say that SlimRoms is an almost "vanilla" experience.
Why build Marshmallow in a world that is about to turn Oreo? Well, actually I needed this for another project, but I figured that I would share it with anybody else who wants it.
**** This is an UNOFFICIAL ROM. Install at your own risk! ****
Downloads :
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/itcsuce33v2sc/Marshmallow
Gapps link:
http://opengapps.org/
-Which I personally tested Arm 6.0 Pico.
Be sure to follow these installation steps very carefully, as they may be different then what you are used to.
Installation instructions:
-Follow this guide to get your phone onto the Developer aboot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529
-Download ROM and gapps, and put them on your phone or external storage.
-Reboot into recovery mode - TWRP
-Backup what you had. (Just to be safe.)
-Wipe. (I personally wipe everything prior to flashing new roms, but at least do the basic wipe.)
-Install Rom.
-Install Gapps. - Optional
-Reboot to system and enjoy!
I do not recommend installing superSU on this ROM! SU permission is already built in, and superSU has been causing problems with the rom. Please read the thread for further details.
What works :
Code:
So far everything that I have tried works, such as
- Camera for pictures and video!
- Phone calls/receiving
- Data 2g/3g/LTE
- Bluetooth
- WiFi
- PTP/MTP
- GPS
- Multi-Window, just long press the "recents" button.
etc....
What doesn't :
Code:
- Let me know in the forums if you find any issues.
Features:
+Status Bar Tweaks
-- Icon settings
-- Clock and Date Appearance
--Battery Status Style
+SlimRecents (Can be reached by holding down the home button)
-- Edit color and display of SlimRecents bar
+Quick Settings
-- Add and rearrange tiles.
+SlimDim Navigation Bar
+RRO Layers Support ( Unofficial - Works, see post #4 for details! )
+Hot Spot
+Edit icons and names of apps! ( Requires icon pack. )
AND MORE!
This SlimRoms MM ROM was built for the kltevzw cid15 version phone. I have not tried this on any other device, but you are welcome to try it AT YOUR OWN RISK. You will need to edit the META-INF updater script to accomplish this.

Sorry to hear that you are having some trouble!
So, is it unable to connect at all, or does it have a problem only when you change network types?
When changing network types, what are you changing to/from?
Have you installed any mod, like SuperSU, magisk, multi-rom, etc.?
What carrier?
Is it possible to take a log cat after a fail? That would help a lot, since it worked here when I tested it.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this soon for you, and thanks for giving it a try.

Rom still needs development.
No Cellular Network connection on Verizon U.S. (Kansas)
Unlocked dev bootloader
QA1 Baseband
cid15 Samsung dimms
Edit:
Also tried with PD1 baseband, same issue.

Looks like I'll have to get some logs from you guys. It is working here in Alaska. You can see post #9 where I have LTE signal, and post #1 I have a voicemail notification.

Okay, I see the issue. This rom is being retitled for GSM users with the Verizon phone. Only GSM works, not CDMA.
However, for the brave:
Here is something I saw people were doing to another rom to get the sprint to work. I don't know if this would work here or not. I don't use CDMA here, but you could try to change the build.prop file for
Code:
ro.telephony.default_network=3
And copy the /system/rild/cdma/lib/libril.so and overwrite the /system/rild/gsm/lib/libril.so file with it. Essentially tricking it into looking for the libril.so file but finding the one for CDMA. Perhaps that would work here?
If anybody tries it, it would be interesting to know if it works.....
