4G doesn't work on my nexus 5 - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys, hope you are fine.
the problem is the 4G doesn't work on my nexus 5, if i go to network settings i found that the LTE is active, the carrier network which i use, supports the 4G, and 4G coverage available, and the 4G bands are 1800 MHz and 800Mhz are supported by the phone and the carrier, but i only got the letter H ( mean 3G ), i took my phone to a technical and he said me that my phone needs a flash (ROM), but he said me that currently he haven't the ROM.
i hope that you can help me to make the 4G works on my nexus 5.
Thank you in advance.

yes friend i have tried before, and it's works on note 3 and phones that's supports 4G

Same problem here
I have the same problem, it is very frustrating.
The phone manages to connect to 4G, but there must be something missing as I don't get any data, sms or phone calls. There usually is a '!' next to the reception bars, it delivers nothing and I end up forcing it back down to 3G when it doesn't do it on it's own.
I am in Australia, and recently moved to a plan with 4G on the Vodafone network. The N5 should cover all those bands and the device is known to work well in these conditions.
I have always been running stock Android and have the same baseband version and build number than the OP. Same result on Android 6.0 and 6.0.1
The SIM delivers 4G with no problems when put in an iPhone 5. There is good coverage where I am.
Who to talk to?

I messed up...

I have a 9020T. I thought I had a 9020A. Flashed the wrong radio and I'm stuck on edge no matter what radio I flash. How do I fix my mistake? And yes, I'm aware I'm a total dumbass
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Do u have a sim card from at&t. If so, 9020t will only give u edge. You need to buy 9020a to give u 3g with at&t.
Flashing different radios might enhance you network and wifi reception. You shouldn't be stuck on edge unless your area has a poor reception or u bought the wrong phone.
No, I'm on T-Mobile. Have a T-Mobile sim.

What is your radio version?
you might be on the wrong radio band after the switch. try dialing *#*#4636#*#* and going to phone information. from there, push menu, choose select radio band, and choose USA band. you could also try choosing automatic, but that never seems to work for me.
Baseband is I9020XXKD1. I flashed the radio that was in the 2.3.6 update, which is obviously not for this model. I've flashed every 9020T radio and still only on edge.

I have the 9020t. Works well in Europe and middle east ( bought from the states) never had problem with the radio. Double check your 3g toggle from the mobile network menu, might reverted back to 2g after flashing

What method did you use to flash KD1?
I thought KD1 is old. The new one should be KF1. But its only for at&t or 9020a
Hi matt. I pulled it from a .zip and fastboot flashed it. Coming from sprint and the ns4g I wasn't familiar with the differences in the GSM versions.
I have double and triple checked the 2g/3g toggle, its not that.

try these two things, since you flashed the tmo radio already..
1. pull the battery for 3 minutes then boot up.
2. connect to wifi, let data go through for a few minutes, turn wifi off.
im assuming that you wiped your dalvik too.
Also. Check the radio guide by window7 in development section. Its tells you how to retrieve 3g back when flashing a new radio. Might help

[ROM][PORT-Experimental] i9305_n7105_mix

Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for bricking your phone, nor for voiding its warranty. Install the ROM at your own risk!
Hi, just want to share this to everyone who wanted a quick way in checking the Note 2 (n7105) features using a S3 i9305. Consider this as an experimental release, so don't expect much out of it, nor updates to be released. Also, the performance is not yet optimized for i9305.
My primary purpose for it is to explore what n7105 has; what works and not. I'll base my future works on the outcome of this rom. I'm still a newbie in the android development field though.
For i9305 users in the Philippines, it allows you to access 4G LTE* capabilities (as no official i9305 firmware was released for Philippines, nor any other firmware that seems to works with 4G LTE signal)
*Tested to work with Globe Telecom's LTE using a LTE nano-sim (fitted with an adapter of course)

Just a clarification, you mean the i9305 cannot get an LTE signal from Globe by default even if it is known as LTE-compatible?

Yup...well at least I tried. If I have an official firmware for i9305 (say from SingTel) and use a LTE nano-sim from Globe Telecoms fitted with a micro-sim adapter I can call and send text messages but cannot connect through mobile internet. Cannot even access "mobile networks" from settings as it give the error "insert sim card to access network settings"

I have no idea too. Technically it should work since i9305 supports LTE Band 3 (1800) which Globe Telecom is supposedly utilizing.
They might have done some modifications on the official n7105 DMC3 firmware since before it was released, Note 2 LTE users from the Philippines are also having the same problem. I'm currently comparing the framework values so I could port it on the official i9305 system.
Sir is your nano LTE sim came from iPhone 5? If not, could you try to borrow and check on your unit if LTE will now work? Thanks!!

Yup tried that using the HK BMC1 firmware , can't even access "mobile networks" settings.
Not a bad idea indeed... I'm using this ROM for about 10 mins and this is my first toughts... Love the concept of the ROM. First, noticed more natural colors than in stock SGS3 ROMs, in default-standard mode. 2 Note's wallpapers are beautiful. Now, some issues... LED indicator is not working (while charging). Mobile data - network connection is behaving weird... It started from "E" to "H+" and after that 20s "mix", it's finished with "3G" (which really don't like). The last, probably not the least, flashing this ROM destroys the whole internal memory of the phone, so BEWARE of that guys (luckily for me, I made a backup on PC)!!!
One more thing... "Ink effect" is working, but with no colors, it is transparent!

Hi guys
I just updated from 1.26.720.5 to 1.26.720.6 today
I can confirm that my sys r/w boot.img works on the latest update, so you all can use it too for perfect root !
As per improvements i haven't noticed much other than the USSD code problem.
I use to have a problem with sim 2 before the update.
Whenever i try to check balance on sim2 (airtel) using *123# i use to get error , BUT after the latest update it is fixed.
Njoy!

Your current firmware is probably 1.25.720.3. That's why. I guess we need to go to SVC to get it updated. -_-

One of my friends went to the service center and spoke to HTC Support as well and he was told that there are no updates over 1.25.720.3.. Isn't that strange!

It's not really, from what I know, it also depends on the availability of the latest software with them, which needs to be coordinated beforehand. In any case, I'll be finding out soon at the Bangalore SVC, since the Kolkata one didn't have the 1.26.720.5 too. I want my phone to be up to date. They are not even pushing out OTA. This is bull****, I'll create a ruckus if they say no update is available. :/

He has got the Update because he Using reliance CDMA. This update should be carrier based update. .. and hope that's others didn't receive...
It isn't carrier based. My phone was on a newer firmware to begin with. I didn't buy it from the carrier anyway.
Lollipop update corrupted
On my HTC E8 dual SIM Indian phone (bought from Flipkart at 32k), I checked for update and got 1.25.720.5. After updating successfully, checked again and updated 1.25.720.6 too. The next check said Lollipop update 2.33.720.3 (863.75 MB) available. Ever since then (yesterday), I've downloaded the update three times unsuccessfully. After completion, which sometimes takes 6-8 hours, it says the update file is corrupted, and to download again. I started the download for fourth time.
Question: Anyone else facing/faced similar problem? What's the remedy?
I have done NO software tweaks on my phone since purchase.
Thanks in advance.

Njoy!

No Sprint apps after PJ2 Firmware flash

I was rooted and on the Lamlazy ROM trying to get my Note 5 to work on MetroPCS. I wasn't able to get it working so I decided to just sell the phone on Ebay. The buyer requested that I return it to stock Sprint software.
I went into Odin and flashed "ALL_SPT_N920PVPS3BPJ2_N920PSPT3BPJ2_CL9010628_QB11176639_REV00_user_low_ship.tar" that I found online and it went through just fine. However, there is no Sprint bootanimation and all the garbage Spint Bloatware is nowhere to be seen. I even did a factory reset after the Odin flash. Still no Sprint boot or apps. Is it because there is no SIM card in the phone or did I FVCK something up somewhere?
Anyone have any advice at all?

Yeap, I flashed the same firmware thru odin and the same thing, no sprint boot animation nor bloatware but for my understanding that´s a good thing, I mean, no sprint crapware to suck all your battery juice and no 3rd party apps to block them it´s a pretty damn thing.... not sure why you want to have them back...

Jajajajaja, guess your gonna have to flash a different firmware , any other one that don´t have the _user_low_ship.tar.
And just as a note, I also had Lamlazy Rom before going back to stock.
Good luck man!

What really sucks is that I never wanted to sell this thing but phone calls wouldn't go through on MetroPCS. Everything else did. Anyways, thanks for the jnput

That´s odd, did you try any other rom to see if it worked, couse for what you can see I´m down here in Mexico and it works like a charm with Lamlazy N7 port 7.3, just did a dirty flash over stock and everything woks great.
go to sammobile to find the official software it will contain everything you need.

You are the man! Maybe I will try this and refund the buyer. So on the MOAR rom how do I access those settings exactly?
Also, am I fvcked because I flashed the latest firmware in Odin? Can it still be rooted? Many thanks for your time. This last ditch effort may hopefully work out!
Yeah you can still root and flash

you can change it on stock rom if you had your msl code type ##data# if you don't have it either call sprint to get it or flash moar rom and it bypass the msl code and take you to the options
