Screen Protector Issue (Tips on Buying) - Nexus 4 Accessories

Hey guys, using the Nexus 4 screen protector, There will be a cut-out for the camera and some for the gyro-sensors. If the gyro-sensor is not covered you will have in-call issues with the screen turning off as if it was against your ear. So make sure when you buy you'r screen protector it has 2 cuts on the side, One for the sensor and one for the Camera
Cheers,
Luke

This thing has a gyro sensor?! WOW!
One problem, I'm holding my gyro in front of the phone and it won't detect it. Is that because my screen protector is covering the sensor?

Its called an ambient sensor but meh, you get the point. And yes, your phone has a gyroscope built in, that's what makes photosphere works.

I was joking..... I know what it does. And I'm pretty sure the gyroscope isn't even visible, it's inside the phone. But I may be wrong.

HTC Letter fell out

Today the glue filled into the C that is engraved in the back of the phone came out. I'm kinda an HTC fanboy so this left me pretty upset.... My camera lens is also really scratched up. Has anyone dealt with this issue and how was it handled?

Someone else mentioned this happening. HTC offered to fix the phone which meant the owner would be without the device for ~10 days. You may look into seeing if VZW will swap it out.

Slickwraps sells lens protectors, but that's probably a moot point since it's already scratched. However, buying some protection might help prevent further damage.

Laser sensor and cases

Any cases available on Prime and in stock that don't jack up the laser autofocus?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I see most cases have cut out for the three spots on the left (camera, flash, sensor) but not the two spots on the right. What are those? Is it ok to block it?
Spigen ultra hyper case is the only case that leave the visor fully exposed which I am planning to use the phone in.

Don't know what those 2 holes are, but they don't look like sensors. The white thing on the right is a "warranty void if removed" sticker on top of a screw.
What's most interesting about this device is that it does indeed look like it could support dual sims with the right tray... Or a sim/SD card slot. There are definitely 2 chip hookups behind that shroud in the teardown. It's possible that it's just a dummy port though.

My solution to fingerprint sensor malfunction (LG V20 H910)

Hello there,
After two weeks of trial and error I got my fingerprint sensor working!
I cut out a piece of thick (resume) paper in the shape of the 10 gold contact pads on the sensor...

}
...then taped the paper to the cover using double sided tape (under the contact pads!)
It makes a secure connection between all contact points on the sensor and logic board by applying pressure evenly!
Now I'm back to quickly unlocking my phone! :good:
Hopefully this helps someone! If you need more details let me know.

Good! This post is for anyone having problems. It took me forever to find a solution so I wanted to report my findings to potentially help someone out.

Not sure i quite understood that, You disassembled the phone and put some paper between the sensor and the motherboard ? why does it even work

Yeah I had a feeling I should elaborate more to prevent confusion. Doing that would surely prevent the sensor from working

I'm definitely gonna add this to my original post. Without the images it doesn't make much sense lol.

The price of the screen is very high, my brother, and I cannot buy it. Is there an alternative way to fix it?

Replace the whole phone. At least you could use the old one maybe for some parts in the future.
Unfortunately there's no way to repair a AMOLED display as it is comprised of thousands of semiconductors in its matrix that controls the individual OLEDs. The touch screen circuitry was also damaged.

This phone won't survive without a good case. Not much help now, but bear that in mind if you replace it or haven't damaged it yet. With no case they are harder to hold too... slippery fish.
There's almost zero bezel... and the only thing they do more than corner hit when dropped is face plant on the display side. The spen corner seems to take more hits than the other corners too.
