Laser sensor and cases - Nexus 6P Accessories

Any cases available on Prime and in stock that don't jack up the laser autofocus?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I see most cases have cut out for the three spots on the left (camera, flash, sensor) but not the two spots on the right. What are those? Is it ok to block it?
Spigen ultra hyper case is the only case that leave the visor fully exposed which I am planning to use the phone in.

Don't know what those 2 holes are, but they don't look like sensors. The white thing on the right is a "warranty void if removed" sticker on top of a screw.
What's most interesting about this device is that it does indeed look like it could support dual sims with the right tray... Or a sim/SD card slot. There are definitely 2 chip hookups behind that shroud in the teardown. It's possible that it's just a dummy port though.

Back cover ( NOT cases )

Are there any metal like ones around? Something a little bit on the gentle side for signal. I would assume such things would be all over the place since so many want to tout / whine about the plastic back. However, I can't really find one that doesn't claim to be aluminum.

i think hes talking about a metal battery cover...
and i doubt that this will become a thing, btw. the reason it's removable is because it's plastic.

I linked metal battery door cover. From eBay description:
Package Included:1* Aluminium Metal Brushed Battery Door Back Cover Case Samsung Galaxy S4 IV I9500
I'm a fan of using skins instead of cases. I usually order from SkinIt.com
However, they don't seem to have anything for the S4... YET.

bodyguardz, skinomi, and armor shield have some up on amazon if you wanna get skins.
I live by skinomi. I've bought at least 7 skins from them. Here's my Relay, but I have the same on my 3ds, nexus 7 and S4

Inside a Genuine Galaxy S4 S View Cover!

My dad decided it was a good idea to cut off the S View cover of his S4 with a Stanley knife, because it was "annoying and always in the way, waving around in the air".

I will begin the dissection when I have time. Stay tuned!
Why would you get the S view cover case if you didn't like the flap?
They sell the battery covers cheap online

I personally like the S View cover, so after a bit of thought, I'm going to postpone dissecting it because to me it seems like such a waste.

From the looks of your pictures, that ship has already sailed.
It's not like you can reattach the front in any kind of esthetic way.

You're right. I don't even have an S4 anyway. I'll cut it open tomorrow.
Nothing special. There's a small magnet along the left side of the cover, which I'm guessing activates the S-View mode. The cover itself is very tough and very hard to separate, so I quickly gave up. The whole thing is probably made from the same material as the clear window.

Xibicen Aluminium vs Ringke Fusion

My old case is almost broken and time for a new one.

I'm using ringke fusion and it's great, the only negative thing is that the back which is transparent scratches and gets dirty easily.
I saw a review of the Xibicen Aluminium and it's written that it causes signal issues and NFC is unusable because the case is made of alluminium

The backplate doesn't come off does it? That would make a killer bumper case if it did
It does but it needs to be held by the two screws. The screws hold it all together. It would be an awesome bumper if it only stayed in place.

Cheap extra physical button via 3.5mm jack

Just found what I think is a good deal and potentially quite a bit of fun to be had with my phone. Was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with one of these and if they will work with our nexus 4's.
The one I have ordered is from DX.com for £2.35

Well I've got the Ringke Fusion case so hopefully it'll fit nicely too, just hope the postage from China to the UK doesn't take forever.

I was almost drawn in by pressy, which I assume this is aping. But the placement didn't work for what I wanted. I came from a tilting sliding qwerty, that when open and held in portrait, closely resembled a book and was very comfortable to turn ebook pages with (my thumb hovered right over the keyboard's arrow keys with no reaching necessary). QWERTYs are endangered these days, and tilting QWERTYs even moreso.
For anyone else looking for an alternate 'extra button' solution, check out Dimple on indiegogo. NFC buttons that can be placed nearly anywhere on the back of most phones and can be programmed pretty broadly. Not very cheap ($27 for 4 buttons $17 2 buttons), but very handy looking.

Space between glass and the metal case

My model is SM-G950FD, everything OK but i disappointed in the screen/glass quality. I can insert two note (polymer). This is an image with only one note

For me it all, in 4 round it widest. Samsung service ignore me to exchange, they say it is in factory standard.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/gaps-device-collecting-debris-t3602511
same, gaps on the sidenot too much of a problem for me, its the gap at the top and bottom which is collecting dirt that is the problem on mine.
Makes you wonder if youd still trust taking it in the water.
I've heard it's ventilation for heat. The G6 has em as well.
This is normal. Read your manuals people...
It says variations and gaps on sides are expected, and will have no effect on the handset.
Mass production tolerances.
You feel like these manufacture variances maintain the water resistance still?

I do. They wouldn't allow a tolerance that didn't. You wouldn't set a tolerance that would compromise the specs.

Yeah I guess that seems true enough, just seems weird that it has such a large gap, liquid can certainly get in there and just sit between the glass and metal.

Very true. I think it's the adhesive that performs the waterproofing magic though. No doubt a tighter tolerance would be preferable.
