Fixed the lagg! Phone is now amazing. - Swapped Units - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

After having done everything I possibly could to speed up the phone, reluctantly, I just went to an AT&T store to see if any of the employees had a Galaxy S4 that I could compare my lag issues too. None of them did, however I was able to swap out my release day S4 for a brand new one.
Let me tell you guys, there is a night and day difference. This phone is now performing like it should. It is fast, responsive, and I am NOT experiencing any of the previous lag issues. Everything is butter smooth with this new handset. I mean smooth!!!!! Menus, Internet browser, gallery, and the camera. Even with all the bloatware still enabled, this phone performs as Samsung wanted.
I strongly advise and urge anyone with lag issues to go in and swap out their handsets for a new one.
Mod Edit: I have lightly edited the title of your post so that it is not misleading or representative of an actual lag fix

Given that the reports of lag seem to be like 50% or more, I reallllllllly hope this isn't a hardware issue....

If I had to take an educated guess before, I would have said the problem is in the software. The phone seemed fast, but still lagged.
I had almost talked myself into waiting till the next update. What a sucker I would have been!
Even went into the AT&T store, only wanting to compare my phone with another persons. I had no intention of swapping them out, but the CSR offered so I said what the heck.
Previously, I had lag while surfing the internet with stock Internet app, lag while switching through menus or apps, and most noticeably, was when I took a picture and immediately selected the new picture for viewing in the Gallery app. This would take about 10-15 seconds to process. The Galaxy S4 now takes a second to process the new picture and display it in the Gallery app.
Interesting enough, and I suppose this should have been an indicator, but restart your phone and watch the Samsung logo fly in. Does it lag or shutter or stutter at all? My old one did, but the new one is silky smooth.
I am one happy Galaxy S4 owner at this point.

OP: I did a factory reset on mine and it was awesome then the lag came back. It's software related, which will be fixed in an update soon.
Highly doubtful the hardware would be cashing lag. If so, they'll have to do a recall.

OP: please keep us updated and if your phone stays this way.

Okay, this may be different than the other lag users are talking about. We see...miniscule stutter in glow animations, transitions, and the periodic 0.5 - 1 second pause in something happening that often times happens faster than that.
It sounds like perhaps you were having more significant issues. None of my lag is a 10-15 second delay. My Samsung logo is just fine. I still have what I consider to be "lag".
Glad you got it sorted out though, cheers!

My old S4 lagged from day one and even after a reset I did not notice an improvement.
It is quite possible though, that I had experienced a hardware fault on my last one, and that other people's issues will be fixed with a software update.

Yeah, those problems sound software related and fixable. I'll gladly wait for that update.

So you didnt actually fix the lag, you only swapped out the device. Kinda confirming the people with lag have faulty devices? :0

OP misstated, he switched out with an HTC One and that's why the lag was gone

Can maybe someone post a short video of the lag that they experience coz im kinda skeptical if my lag is just right or may I just got used to it

This was certainly my case lol. Maybe it it's others as well. I saw one other case where a swap fixed the problem.
Like others have just mentioned, I guess part of the problem was that I did not know the extent of my problem until I had the new phone. I thought that everyone was experiencing issues like mine with lag. Come to find out, I was probably experiencing far greater lag issues (possibly hardware related) than everyone else.

I exchanged mine today and all I can say is that's it's better then my old one.
Buttery smooth it's NOT and it still lags and shutters a bit..
My previous S4 did not have the black crush issues and this one does... YAWN!

I think this is all placebo...
It's like when people flash a new rom and all the cache is cleared and no apps are installed - BOOM IT'S SO FAST NOA!!
Come on guys, the hardware doesn't have voodoo magic built in to it. This stuff is all manufactured down to tolerances within microns that are desirable for silicon-based electronics. They ALL perform within 1-2% of each other.. Outside variables such as temperature can affect this or current caches, etc..
Blaming the hardware is a rediculous joke IMO. If the hardware was at fault the phone would have much more severe problems than just some minor lag.

You are right to a point.. Some phones will have hardware issues as it's the nature of the beast. Just like cars, washers, dryers, refrigerators, ect.. Make enough and some will not work properly..
My new S4 is a bit smoother as far as I can see but time will tell. I can say with absolute certainty that my old unit did not have black crush and this one does..

Without any real concrete evidence this post is nothing but heresay and everyone should be taking his word with a giant pinch of salt.
He technically should have benchmarked it roughly 5-10 times, averaged it.. CPU and GPU benchmarks as well... then benchmarked the new device. That would rule out a hardware issue. But we have no evidence, so we can't simply believe him.

Well, you are obviously correct about the needed benchmark evidence. However, its not that unusual for the specs of phones (especially ones that have been rushed for release) to vary a great bit. Though it is true that they are not supposed to. You have to remember that not all of these phones are manufactured and assembled in the exact same plant and in the past, it is known that panels and chip sets have been supplied differently because of demand issues. When the S2 Skyrocket was released, many of the first units had streaks or bars present in the display when it was dark...it was a hardware issue. Not all of them had it but many did. I'm sure other phones were released with similar issues to start with.
Overall, I think it is way to early to say if the majority of the problems on the S4 phones are software related, hardware related, or a little of both. It is also to early to tell if certain problems can be traced back to certain "lots" they may have been sub-standard. Releasing millions of phones to hundreds are markets in a short time causes a lot of confusion.
So maybe its hardware issues, maybe its software and can be fixed by the magical unicorn of all OTAs, or maybe it's a little of both. I think this is why what works for one phone might not work for the next. The only real fix will be to give things time to settle.

I am the only one with a phone with no bugs?

Maybe it's because I upgraded from an ancient AT&T Tilt (not Tilt II!) and this phone is just so much better that I don't notice the flaws.
But every post on here where people mention some bug or another and Mine does not have said bug.
My GPS works, even in the house (which I thought was not possible, because the GPS signal isn't supposed to go through walls)
My Battery lasts from 9:30 am until midnight with downloads, music, calls, video, browsing, and facebook. I have all of the default battery saving options.
My accelerometer/gyro work perfectly.
Please tell me I'm not the only one, because I am so happy with this phone, and it would be a shame if so many people where having problems that it became a flop.
Just my take on it. It is a new phone so there is still a lot of "unknown" about the phone. Also, if you go to any kind of forum like this you usually see a lot of issue/help threads rather than praise threads. Its just the way it is.
I got mine yesterday.. and love the hell out of it.. No problems at all so far, and have not been able to put it down. hahaha
Mine is great

I did have a GPS problem though, it wouldnt lock on in like 15 minutes, but I changed the settings and I get a lock pretty fast now.
Lag? None. Touchwiz? Decent, and less choppy than launcherpro!
Phone is real good.
They sold almost a million Galaxy S devices before even launching in the states, and the only 'common' problem I have seen that is not obviously software is the GPS issues. But it seems like most can change around a few settings and be fine.
Most if not all of my issues are because I do not know android. Once one or two software updates come out (or cooks make some nice custom roms with bug fixes) most if not all problems I think will vanish.
Nope
No problems, except for the GPS issue. But I live in NYC, and the buildings have always been an issue when trying to connect to the satellites with any device. Anyway, with that said, no issues with the phone/settings/performance etc. at all.

I'll one-up you, I unplug my phone at 6:30 AM when I am about to leave for work and didn't plug it in until it started complaining at me 28 hours later. Thats pretty darn good given the screen size and the fact that I was using wifi and 3G throughout the day.
Coming from a Iphone 3g.
Got my Captivate on Tuesday. Rooted it, took off the junk. Mine is running great even with no new launcher and live backround. GPS works great too.
No bugs here and phone is way faster then any other phone I have ever used.
Mine is running great too. Maybe it's because I'm not a perfectionist, but I love my phone after removing touchwiz it's even faster too.
So far, so good. Any "issues" can be traced back to my ignorance of an Android-based phone, but being a persistent sort I've either figured out the answers myself or by trolling forums. I would venture a guess that most listed problems relate to:
1. Unrealistic expectations that this new phone should behave the same way, or very similar to an older phone, e.g., number of bars should equal previous phone's number of bars and stuff like that.
2. The results of newbies futzing within the depths of the phone without recognizing the potential consequences of their actions should they screw up.
3. Glitches or wishes that will be addressed in updates.
4. Real problems that can be rectified by a swap within the 30 days.
5. Imagined problems that can be rectified by a reality check.
...and so on.
In any event, I have high expectations and this phone has certainly come close to meeting them.

My first phone had a lot of bleeding, switched it out for another and it barely has any. That's the only problem I've really run into.
My first unit had the restart problem but I replaced it at the tmo store and this new one is working fine and is almost up to the two day uptime since its initial boot.

I also got my phone on the 20th and everything have been running perfect. This phone is just amazing. The only thing I miss about my droid Incredible was the MIUI ROM.
I've had one reboot, but 2-1/2 days since then without any problems. I was a bit concerned about battery life for the first couple of days, but I've been off-charger for about 7 hours now with light usage and the battery is still at 83%, which is fine. Otherwise, no problems other than minor software issues (kinetic scrolling parameters, Qik has a version incompatibility with iPhone, I can't add applications to Car Home).
This tends to happen a lot. The people who are happy are content and don't usually post about it. Conversely, those who have issues, or think they have issues, end up posting about them, so you basically just end up with a bunch of negative discussions.
This is my 4th Android phone (G1, Nexus One, Epic 4G, and now the G2X), and by far the best one I've ever owned, ever.
I've had mine since the 20th and so far have had no problems at all. I activated it in the store and had a slight concern when it seemed to freeze up for a few minutes after it asked about synching my apps. However, I waited a few minutes and apparently it was indexing everything, because once it came back to normal I checked my apps and everything was there. Both the T-Mo rep and I were surprised to see all the apps back as well as my contacts, emails, and texts. Gotta love that Google cloud!
My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that I can't tell which end is up when I pick it up. I came from a Nexus One and that trackball was a huge clue for where the top of the phone was. This phone is so dark with its new black gel case that I usually pick it up upside down and struggle to find the power button. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Glad to see all my apps working with no hiccups, and I was fortunate not to get one with any screen bleed or unexpected restarts. Hope this keeps up.
i thought i had the wifi/4g problem but it was a mistake on my part. had the phone little over 24 hours and not a problem thus far
Most Happy people wont go to xda to create a thread and tell people how perfect and great their phone is.

my data connection sometimes locks up and seems slower than my vibrants connections. but i'm sure newer basebands/radios will come out and hopefully fix all that. a tiny bit of bleeding on top corner but nothing noticeable...i'm loving it....wish it had 768 ram but it has enough, haven't ran into many problem in that area, i have almost 300 apps and a multitask alot so i'm hopping this one doesn't kill my adw ex in the backround..i have it on persistent but it can still kill it if it wants....fingers crossed that's never an issue. so far love the phone....now waiting on the cable for the HDMI to come in the mail, and screen protectors.
One day 1, I had a couple random reboots. Days 2 and 3 have so far been completely error free. I have very little LCD bleed, only a tiny bit in the top corners that I can barely notice. Standby battery life has improved immensely as well. Down to 3-4% battery per hour which is very good on a stock ROM/kernel.
I'm totally satisfied.
I really like the phone and am keeping it but there's no question it has issues. Everyone uses their phone differently which is why we are having different experiences. I rely on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth heavily and LG's implementation of both is quirky causing erratic behavior. T-Mobile really screwed up the data management settings with their My Account app allowing the phone to use native data when set to Wi-Fi only. You're experiencing that whether you realize it or not.
I was in a T-Mobile store and they allowed me to play around with the configuration of their demo unit. I could replicate almost all the strangeness I experienced on my phone. Someone who uses the phone differently may never see the issues I'm having. Either software updates from LG or a replacement ROM will cure most of the problems that have been posted so in the end the phone will still be a good choice.
No issues here...
Flawless...
Mine is fantastic, I dont seem to have any screen bleed or reboots but ive noticed it seems like it lags sometime coming from the lock-screen but doesn't affect anything. All we need now are some custom roms.....

Found this G2x gingerbread news update

http://androidforums.com/t-mobile-g2x/336262-optimistic.html
sounds like the same story with t-mobile with every smartphone, waiting more waiting, then tease, then release the official updates for every other phone but the one i chose. i suspected they were pushing this out to fast. personally i would have waited another couple weeks myself to get a gingerbread/bug free released phone without the 4 returned phones before this 5th g2x. i came from the Vibrant though (great phone, just had a no support from tmobile or samsung and had some hardware bugs) so my opinion is definitely a biased one lol. At least we got some awesome developers for this phone
what do you guys think?
I'd hardly call this news. Confirmed speculation at best. With all of the supposed software issues (battery life for one) I'm not in the least surprised the GB update isnt happening as quickly as some would hope.
Doesn't really say much. Just that it was rushed.
Kills me though. People are always like, "RELEASE IT ALREADY" and are in a hurry to get it and when they do rush devices they get mocked as not being perfect.
Would you rather have a phone that is less then perfect and released months ahead so we can play with it and hack it or pushed back months and bug free?
Me personally, I'd rather get it in my hand and play with it. In a few months, when it "should" have been released, the issues "should" be resolved.
I dunno. Almost a month after it's release and we have tons of roms and kernels. If you are having problems, there is nothing stopping you from fixing them. If you are looking for a bug-free stable phone then don't buy cutting edge devices.
And for what its worth, the only hardware issue is backlight bleeding. The other stuff is just gimpy software which most has already been corrected by custom roms.

I have to disagree here. Everyone has been so quick to blame the lockups / reboots on faulty software, but from my experience, it most definitely is related to a hardware problem. I've had three g2x's now, I treat them exactly the same with the exact same programs installed. One locked up multiple times a day. Another locked up once a day. The other seems to only have a weekly hiccup.
Im thinking hardware defect here - maybe too low voltage on the soc? No clue. But there's definitely a difference between hardware on this one.

I'm just hoping they can pull the fix from the O2x and apply it to our phones.
They = Devs
http://phandroid.com/2011/05/16/lg-...-rolling-out-to-europe-to-fix-random-reboots/
I do wish they would have put off the release of the phone a few more weeks to work out kinks, but overall I don't think things have been that bad.
The light leakage thing is interesting because I think tons of devices have this, only people like us notice. Mine is pretty minor and so far everything else is great, so I'm gonna stick with it for now. I don't ding LG/T-Mobile that much for the light leaks
Random reboots however are bad, but at least it looks like they have identified the issue, and we should get it pretty soon on the G2x. I do wonder how a software issue is worse on some devices than others though.
The update to Gingerbread will be nice, but it isn't a ton of difference. I like bleeding edge stuff as much as the next guy, and ran CM7 nightlies when they were first available for my Evo, but I would much rather they take a few weeks longer and clean up any issues than rush it out.
Based on what people say about the Atrix (I know it has a 30% bigger battery) I expect the battery life is pretty bad on this phone, and might see a huge improvement with an update. I'd much rather have that vs. getting 2.3 sooner.

Agreed. I've had no issues as well except really minor bleed that doedn't bother me a bit.
After installed xiialive, streaming issue resloved.
The ONLY issue left is ogg vorbis tag problem.
I may try CM7 to see whether this problem is fixed.
This is my 5th g2x, all of them had issues from rebooting, overheating, or having to pull the battery to boot up anytime i charged it. they also all had pretty bad screen bleeding. this one doesn't for the most part. also a couple had a couple with major signal issues. this 5th hasn't had any issues yet and ive had it for a week and a half so looks good. I think its a mixture of both hardware and software. new dual-core cellphone technology with an old Android OS that was surpassed almost a year ago. I'm sure Ice Cream sandwich will be completely built for only multi-core devices so hopefully this phone gets it..... in 12 months?
Have you been getting new batteries every time as well? There are murmurings of it being a battery issue.
Im having the same problem with phone rebooting by itself or sometimes it just turns off. An there is time where the screen just goes black, and have 2 remove battery it sux :/. Love the phone and all but if this keeps happening to my phone think might just go ahead and sell it :/
I had the reboot issue and an issue where the device would loop through the LG screen and not boot up (had to do a reset); when I called T-Mobile about this they sent me a new battery. I received the battery last week and have not had any issues since replacement. Moreover, my battery life has increased TREMENDOUSLY. I always thought it was a software issue, but maybe it's the battery - or maybe it's only a matter of time before the phone corrupts this battery.
yup. each time i returned the whole box with all accessories, battery included. i even tried getting new sim cards 3 times.
FWIW I have been able to reproduce the battery freeze bug at will. Use device until battery is drained, attempt to turn it on until it will not even flash the exclamation at you anymore, plug it in and "viola" it won't start again w/o battery pull. I have tested the multiple times with 2 devices
The first device had this random bug "in the wild" so to speak. The second has ONLY exhibited it when I perform the above procedure.
My second likes to randomly reboot, but ONLY when running the stock rom. It's rebooted completely randomly at least 5 times (once when charging, once with screen off sitting on my desk, twice with screen on as I was looking at it, and once moments after turning the screen off and putting it in my pocket. It has NEVER rebooted while running CM7 (as buggy as it still curently is) Eaglesblood (1.2/3 and now 4 or with Other Kernels (though I did have some random shutdowns-- no reboot-- with Faux's Kernel and CM7)

G2x + Custom Roms = No complaints.

So you'd rather be the beta tester for the phones you buy? And if the company you bought the phone from can't fix the issues (or choose to ignore it)? Like Tmobile's dealings with the Vibrant. Sorry but bending over and letting these companies take advantage of customers like this... is stupid. By accepting shifty/****ty devices you are giving them the green light to push out devices without proper quality control in the future... And with T-Mobiles reputation of being honest with customers I wouldn't put so much trust in the capacity of these companies to polish phones post release. They are only going to want to focus on their next big project...

I have a feeling android 2.4 will be out before we even get 2.3. This, "it's coming soon," is getting old. Said the same for the MT4G.
that makes me feel optimistic. similar procedure for rebooting issues with previous phones for myself as well. well if t-mobile ever releases update (LG gave it to them weeks ago LG has said) before our phones all meltdown, fry, or explode then we'll have one bad ass phone

That's what they said about the Vibrant too... h'm, I'm sensing a pattern here lol.
This **** would be unacceptable if this happened on an iPhone (though... much could be said of the iPhone userbase's... erm, pickiness. So maybe thats how they ensure results lol.)

also i agree with that post a couple above my last. $600 phones should not have problems. that's why we pay so much, convenience/awesomeness/functionality. for the best of the best at the time, otherwise we could just take the cheap smartphones all the carriers release that you never hear about.

Scrolling stutters a bit

Hi guys,
Not sure it was there when I got my 32Gb Note 10.1 or not. I updated it to the latest software version early on. I don't have that many apps installed on it and only a couple of widgets on the desktop. The scroll stutters at times when I start scrolling: it starts off fine, then stutters for a short time, almost like a single hick up, and then continues just fine. It's doesn't happen 100% of the time but is more consistent as of late. I observed it going from screen to screen and in the main browsers scrolling through the page. I restarted the tab, closed running apps/services, which made no difference.
Has anyone noticed anything similar to that? Does that sound like a normal behavior? Have had a few Android phones before but this is my 1st Android tab so not sure what level of performance I should expect. Thanks!
Have not experienced any stuttering. The only time I have noticed the SGN10.1 stuttering is when drawing shapes in s.note. then it can get a little bogged down.

Try going to settings, developer, and under window and transition animations. Try setting to.5 or zero.
That should fix it.
I was using HD Widgets and had a 8x1 clock/weather widget on my first home page. I was playing with the stock clock/weather widget and by removing the HD Widget's clock the stuttering improved a lot. I'm still using it for some toggles and that seems fine. If anyone is using HD Widgets you can remove the widgets you're not actively using and that seems to speed things up too.
i have a 3 day old 16gb wifi gnote. my experience with stuttering has been unmistakable in 2 places: general system animations (moving between screens or opening settings for example) and a laggy stock browser.
when i swipe home screens, i get similar stutters as the OP. so i went ahead and cleaned up all the stock (bloatware) widgets... hardly a solution but i hope it isnt a problem when i do install useful widgets soon.. someone suggested reducing animations to 0.5x or 0. well thats really sad for a higher end tablet i think. similar stuttering scrolls in gmail and play store.
with the browser, i usually get stutters when scrolling a fairly heavy page. the most annoying thing is that if there are many images on a page, the browser blanks them out when scrolling and then redraws them at the end of scrolling! so i simply installed chrome instead... and thats working better
i also tried this game called wind up knight just to see some 3d action... there too the stutter was quite obvious.
im not blown away by the quad core awesomeness out-of-the-box i must say. i think my 2 year old HTC HD2 (1ghz single core) is generally faster at running ics. i hope custom roms are able to better harness the hardware...
forgot to mention that i am running the old UEALGB rom

So what exactly does this do?
I am on my second g note. Got rid of the 16 GBP for the 32. The only thing I have done on both was got rid of the widgets it came in stalled with and adj the settings and it flies like butter.
Someone else mentioned the power saver mode. Check that it is not on.

No power savings mode. I suspect some of you just not noticing it. I do have an eye for those kind of things though.
i didnt have my power saving mode on... the problem became extremely irritating with that feature on...
however i did restart my tablet and that did solve almost all my worries! i too now have a "buttery smooth" tablet before restart, my ram usage was around 1.4gb and i suspect around 70+ active apps in memory. after restart, my ram usage was 0.4gb and all the lags and stutters went away! so one possible solution could be for you to go to task manager and clean out active apps from memory. then check if there is any stutter in general usage. hope this helps!
ps: i did clean out all my home screen bloat widgets. so i really cant say how smoothly they will scroll after cleaning out the ram.

I think anyone who comes to this site for info knows what lag is and looks like.:cyclops:
Not denying that there are some defective units, as with any thing to buy there will be some.
We are just trying to offer solutions.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply anything. I do appreciate all the help and feedback from all xda members.
I was just basically reflecting on my nature and the fact that I do tend to concentrate on details sometimes. So, my point was that there may or may not be lag there and perhaps I'm just "seeing" things. I have a good eye for these things in general, so assuming lag or more like stutter is there, the next question is whether that's something particular to my tab or others are seeing it too. If later is the case than it could be software and/or hardware issue. I thought the specs this thing packing it should have no problems scrolling silky smooth. Don't wanna jump to any conclusions just yet though...
Tried reducing animation scale but it made little difference. Wondering, just for comparison, has anyone seen Note 10.1 scrolling videos posted out there?
Thanks!
I agree it does stutter slightly. If you are reading an article and are scrolling down as you read, its not smooth. Hopefully they will fix it.

Thanks for sharing! Anybody else ran into this as well?
Actually, now that you mention it...
When i first received the tablet, i noticed the lag swiping from screen to screen. I shut it off after about 15 minutes, to charge the battery faster when the unit is off. After rebooting, i noticed it seemed to go much faster....
Also, after installing the update (which may or may not be available anymore) my overall smoothness went up about 100%, something i noticed immediately.
Doesn't stutter for me anymore, unless i have power saver mode on and really pushing it. Asphalt 7 (looks somewhat hi-tech 3d graphics, maybe not) runs exceptionally well, so i am not sure i'm getting the lag anymore. Maybe this is what some of the reviewers saw at first, while doing their first 15 minute review?
I can't complain anymore because it seems to be fine on mine, with the exception of this XDA app

Trying to get a sense if this is a widespread issue with almost every GNote or with just a small number of tabs. If first is the case then it can probably/likely be addressed via some software update. But if it's a later case then exchange is in order. I have no way of reliably validating it so I'll probably gonna go for an exchange early next week.
Anyone has some Samsung feedback linky handy, other than FB, by any chance? Thanks.
Not to hijack my one thread... but I have a new problem develop last night: some parts of the screen, left side in particular, in the standard browser weren't responding to touch/clicks. Tried clearing out all apps, restarting the browser, etc. Didn't help much. Seems to be better. Not sure what's going on.

S6 users...question..

hey guys, for those who used the S6 for a week or more, is there any issues? i know some said heat issues and LED...but those are small bugs that can be fixed with a small update...what about lag, stutter?? because you cant judge the performance after a day of use....thats why i want an answer from users that used the device for a week...THANKS

everything is perfect with my 64gb T-mobile model except for this battery bug which i am assuming will be fixed when the next update will come out which should be soon i am guessing. nothing wrong with the hardware or software (lag, stutter, app crashing, restarting). The battery bug i hear can be fixed by turning off VoLTE and i think d/c the wifi.
it really is a solid solid phone

Depends on what you're used to. If you're coming from a phone that lags badly, the S6 will be an improvement. If you're coming from a very smooth phone like a Nexus 6, Z3, M8/M9, Moto X, it won't be as smooth. For example, a few days ago I was watching a Youtube video, I pressed the Home button, the home screen showed up but the icons/clock widget took a couple of seconds to show up. This hasn't happened again though.

Tested the S6 Edge for over 1 week, on that one there is a specific issue with the touch keyboard sometimes being flaky for the '1' and 'a' keys to the side of the screen. Somehow to do with the Edge screen I think. No biggie. Other than that I did not experience any issue like heat nor LED. I did get a weird LTE/CDMA issue with my local SIM provider, but for now that is not an S6 issue imho. It does get fingerprint-dirty quickly, and the first minute scratch on the front screen is already there. Nothing serious for now.
FYI - I posted my detailed review in Dutch at Tweakers.net (same username).

thanks for the feedback...hope it stays like this...its a shame that CM roms will have many issues because there is only EXYNOS variant...
Having massive issues with mine, trying to get an exchange going. Massive lag, FCs, memory leak... I can't have Google Nav and Pandora going at the same time, Pandora just shuts down. Half the time I get lag as I try to dial out, and half of THOSE times, it just crashes the dialer.
Not to mention the annoying crap, like the "456" SMS from T-Mobile shows up under my girlfriend's name, for some reason.
T-Mobile was supposed to have a replacement out to me on 4/8, but UPS lost it. Lovely.

some guys reported some issues, some lags, FC but your phone seems a bit too much....its better to replace it with a new one...
I've had mine for over a week now, on T-mobile. Coming from a Nexus 5 that was plagued by the 5.0 memory leak for several months (finally got fixed for the most part in 5.1), I can definitely say this phone is suffering from the same symptoms. After a few days the phone will start to get laggy and some apps will close (only one that has closed so far has been Chrome -in my experience from the N5 and on this S6, the more you use the Chrome browser, the faster it happens). I check the memory stats and every time system is taking up 1.2-1.3 GB. Same problem as on the N5.
Hope they get it updated to 5.1 a lot sooner than Google updated the N5....I don't want to go through 6 months of this crap again. I'm hoping the huge install base will push them to release a 5.1 update quickly.
Mine showed up from T-Mobile on 4/2, so I'm nearly two weeks in at this point. So far, the only real disappointment has the battery life. I wouldn't call it bad at 18-20 hours, but I've had better. Wireless and quick charging has made it almost so easy to top it off, however, that I've not yet had to worry about it. So it may be a trade off, or it may be (as some suspect) a software issue that will be corrected either through an OTA or when roms start rolling in.
