Newbie with Motorola Xoom 3G MZ601 (Telstra).
I want to install Team EOS 3 stable ROM as I believe the official status is the MZ601 in Australia is NOT going to Jellybean.
Is there any step by step instructions for the whole procedure as I have not done it before.
I do have a USB cable and have installed the Motorola USB drivers on my Windows 8 Pro laptop.
Any advice would be much appreciated. I am aware of the two ZIP files that will be needed. One for the ROM and the other for Google apps.
None of my data is important on the Xoom so a factory reset is not a problem for me.
Got 4.1.2 working ok.
Tried 4.2.2 which seemed to work except for any Google Apps which all crashed. Other apps ran ok.
Back to 4.1.2 for moment
Is 4.2.2 supported on MZ601 3G?

Hi, I just got the 4g modem installed in my Xoom. I would like to upgrade from honeycomb to ICS. There are many choices/techniques. I tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1484770
Got to step 4 and could not do the, "...factory rest within recovery" I can reset all day via Apps-Settings-Privacy-Factory Data Reset. The Android Recovery option starts but seems to lock at the Android dude (exclamation mark on stomach). I would like the unit to perform quickly so I assume rooting is the way to go. I have a sd card installed as well. Please advise. Thanks
Hi,
I have Samsung Tab 2 7" P3100
Originally had 4.0.4 which worked great.
But got OTA update n upgraded to 4.1.1
& Now it started giving me trouble, Wifi Connection is very unstable.
Connected to Wifi Network keeps popping up every 5 mins.
I cant even install things properly without worrying of it will fail or success.
so i rooted the device and reset the whole thing (Rooted to make a Titatnium Backup n all)
Problem still persists, Still the Wifi Trouble.
Without a Proper Wifi its not even worth having a Tablet.
So my Question is: Can i Push a 4.1.1 ROM from Sammobile on my current 4.1.1 ??
or should i just downgrade it to 4.0.4 & than do a upgrade via Kies rather than OTA update.
( I am thinking something in OTA messed up, so a proper ROM from sammobile might help)

Yes, you can trying to download them from sammobile.com and start to installing from odin. Make sure you have backup for your ICS 4.0.4 before replace with JB 4.1.1
Good luck..
rom
what is the best rom?
I have recently purchased a refurbished Verizon Xoom 3G with Honeycomb on it. Once I connected the device to the internet I got the ICS OTA update bringing me up to 4,0.4. I purchased this device thinking Xoom has Jelly Bean now. Verizon however has still not released the JB update and I want JB on my Xoom.
My question is what is the easiest way to root / flash this device? I have flashed custom roms / recovery apps on several other tablets (Viewsonic Gtab, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire etc... I would like to use TWRP just because I'm a noob and it's easy but if getting CWM on this device is easier I'm ok with trying that too.
I am wanting to flash the CM10 rom since the thread states it works with the Everest version of the Xoom. My other question since this is my first 3G tablet, do I have to do anything special once the new ROM is flashed to reactivate my Verizon service? I'm assuming I just need to go back in to the system settings and choose to activate device like I did in ICS to setup the 3G connection like I did originally.
I know this is a noob question so go easy on me I have found a few different options on here so far but I wanted to ask users with this device what the most dummy proof method they have used is.
Thanks for reading!
Hi, follow the guides int he development thread.
You need to flash a recovery (I like TWRP) , and then choose a ROM. I currently like the rom from TeamEOS as it is full featured and popular, but there are more.
In general, research a little and pick something which fits. BRD may have 4g working for 4.2.1 soon I've heard, but you can use other roms until this is working and you don't want to 'test'.

Hi,
Firstly I would like to thank to the Szezso group for doing such hard work and providing custom ROM 4.4 (KITKAT) for HTC Incredible S users like me.
Really appreciate your work!!!
I have a question, I have just wiped out jelly bean and installed this updated custom 4.4. rom released on 28th March, 2014.
1. Custom rom has been successfully installed
2. Though I got error (status 7) while installing gapps (gapps-kk-20140105-signed,zip), but still i am able to see that Google Play, Picasa, Gmail apps are there after rebooting the phone.
3. As i was not able to sign-in to my gmail account on google store, so i again went to recovery and installed (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip) which got installed successfully.
4. inspite of doing all the above things, I am not able to get get my sim card detected (its displaying - No Service), I have tried replacing the sim of other operator but still the same issue.
It would be really grateful if you could help me out in fixing these issues otherwise I have to get back to same Jelly bean again. FYI - I followed the latest links from Thread [[DEV][ROM][CM11][4.4.2]VivoKat[Camcorder][ION][STABLE #7][28/03/2014]]
Look forward for a possible resolution
Thanks,
Puneet
Hi, I already tried to find solution for my problem on this site but with no luck. I have Alcatel OT Idol 2 and currently official system is 4.2.2 jelly bean so I tried to upgrade to kitkat. I used this tutorial and files from provided link in description for upgrading my phone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Taxlt3NUjx4 but before that I rooted my phone using this tutorial from this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434453.
I successfully rooted my phone and also successfully upgraded to kitkat using above mentioned tutorial but now I have a problem when trying to transfer files from computer to phone. When usb is connected everything is fine until when I try to transfer files on sd card or phone memory, after few second transfer just freezes and only way to stop it is to disconnect usb. Is there some solutions for this problem or maybe problem is in those upgrade files because on older 4.2.2 jelly bean everything was worked fine?
