Hi, I already tried to find solution for my problem on this site but with no luck. I have Alcatel OT Idol 2 and currently official system is 4.2.2 jelly bean so I tried to upgrade to kitkat. I used this tutorial and files from provided link in description for upgrading my phone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Taxlt3NUjx4 but before that I rooted my phone using this tutorial from this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2434453.
I successfully rooted my phone and also successfully upgraded to kitkat using above mentioned tutorial but now I have a problem when trying to transfer files from computer to phone. When usb is connected everything is fine until when I try to transfer files on sd card or phone memory, after few second transfer just freezes and only way to stop it is to disconnect usb. Is there some solutions for this problem or maybe problem is in those upgrade files because on older 4.2.2 jelly bean everything was worked fine?

I recently user rooted my device per the forum excellent instructions but now am unable to to update the firmware for the android OS. When I get the popup notifying me that an upgrade has been downloaded, I go through the drill of rebooting to the Odin screen and then reboot but am then advised that the upgrade failed and something about using Kies. I user rooted the device in anticipation of installing Ubuntu but haven't done it yet. I intended to be able to dual boot depending on what I am working on. I use the android OS most of the time and it works ok but will not upgrade itself. I have searched the posts regarding the inability to upgrade android when the system is rooted but haven't found anything that I understand or that tells me whether or not it is even possible to upgrade the android OS when user rooted. Can anyone answer the question succinctly and if it is possible point me to instructions on how to do it. Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Hi. That's right, you can't make OTA official updates anymore if you rooted the tablet.
You can however download the new firmware version from sammobile (official non-rooted) or some custom version from XDA, then flash it with odin or mobile odin (for official), or CWM (for custom "zip").
Here's a tutorial for Galaxy Note, but it might work for your tablet too - anyway it gives you an idea of how that can be done. The written procedure is here.
going through the same issue...
I am having the same troubles as the person who started this thread. I rooted my samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 from the instructions that I found on this forum. I also installed ClockWork Mod recovery as per the rooting instructions. Now that I am hearing that I will be unable to update to jelly bean (official) because I rooted my device what can i do to work around this problem?
What if we reboot into Clock Work Mod recovery and use the option to restore device to stock firmware? If we did that option it would restore the tablet back to its factory resetting and then could we upgrade to Jelly Bean using the "software update" option?
Or is downloading a firmware from sammobile the best option?
I am really not sure about what to do next...
Hope to hear some kind of response on what to do next...
You can get JB stock from sammobile and flash it with odin. Or you can get a custom JB rom from xda and flash it with cwm. There's nothing complicated about upgrading, both ways are good. I would pick the second one, this way you stay rooted.
Newbie with Motorola Xoom 3G MZ601 (Telstra).
I want to install Team EOS 3 stable ROM as I believe the official status is the MZ601 in Australia is NOT going to Jellybean.
Is there any step by step instructions for the whole procedure as I have not done it before.
I do have a USB cable and have installed the Motorola USB drivers on my Windows 8 Pro laptop.
Any advice would be much appreciated. I am aware of the two ZIP files that will be needed. One for the ROM and the other for Google apps.
None of my data is important on the Xoom so a factory reset is not a problem for me.
Got 4.1.2 working ok.
Tried 4.2.2 which seemed to work except for any Google Apps which all crashed. Other apps ran ok.
Back to 4.1.2 for moment
Is 4.2.2 supported on MZ601 3G?
Sorry for being a complete and utter noob (read: idiot) and for maybe making a duplicate thread - I tried to find a similar thread but couldn't.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime LTE, that I bought maybe two months ago. I had big troubles to root it and finally succeeded with KingRoot 4.0, a nifty Chinese app. What I actually wanted to do is get the OTG to work, however as it didn't my quest continued. Today I flashed Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on my phone and it's not bricked, it works, but it's unrooted so I cannot even use the apps that would make the OTG work if I find the right kernel and/or cable, whichever is the problem. No one-click-rooting apps worked except for KingRoot and now that's not working either.
Is there any way to restore the original, factory stock rom on my phone..?
????
Please can u give me the name of the app that make your device to enable otg?
name or link please
just get the old firmware 4.4.4 from sammobile and flash the rom with odin then when when the phone boots it will be stuck in boot loop all you have to do is boot into recovery and wipe cache partition then reboot and give it two mins to boot up
hello,
were you able to downgrade g360f to 4.4.4?
thanks
Hi all,
advice needed please. I've been using my Samsung J100H with out any issues for the last 4 months. I rooted as soon as I got it, and a couple of days ago I got TWRP on to it as well. My problem is that I was trying to flash TWRP with Odin, and had some kind of connection drama before I got as far as flashing anything (wasn't recognising the handset in download mode and I was trying different connections and cables). In the end I flashed TWRP with Rashr and it worked perfectly. Since then I can't get my handset to connect to any desktop/laptop. tried both W7 and Linux. All drivers are correctly installed and previously working fine.
So is this a firmware issue? And if so, will flashing back to stock sort that out? And if I do that I will presumably lose root?
Hi,
There is no dedicated forum for your device at this time but you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the following Android Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259645
Good luck.
Hello Daniel,
I upgraded my GT-P6200 from 4.1.2, to Marshmallow 6.0.1 using the file cm-13.0-20160106-UNOFFICIAL-p6200, and the relevant Gapps file. While the upgrade to marshmallow worked smoothly and was successful, I am not able to import phone contacts, call records, text messages from my KIES backup. I even tried installing KIES 3, but with no success. If I am unable to import my phone contacts, I may have to go back to 4.1.2.
I faced the same issues a couple of months back when I tried upgrade to Lollipop.
Could you please advise as to the solution. Has anyone else faced the same problem when upgrading from Android 4.1.2 to Lollipop or Marshmallow?
Regards,
Kies is made only for Oficial bilds mate.

Well if I am unable to access KIES and import phone contacts, this upgrade is no use for me.
