[Solved][Q]Galaxy tab 2 10.1 p5110 Firmware upgrade encountered an issue - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the cm rom, then wanted to go back to stock JB,and flashed the firmware over ODIN,suceeded. Then it was stuck in a bootloop.I flashed a any-root Stock kernel.still bootloop now on kernel logo, then i tried instaling TWRP,and it FAIL-ed and the TAB froze on the ODIN mode.i turned it off and got the error that firmware upgrade encountered an error and error(phone-yellow triangle--PC) icon.
Please help me!! :crying:
EDIT:
SOLVED!
PLUG the tablet in the PC,no matter if that error is there, just plug it
start ODIN,it should accept the device and flash the stock firmware(PDA)

Either Kies (safe)
Or odin (development)

Kies didnt even recognise it.
Odin is safest and best. For odin you have 4 steps for flashing, and in Kies you have 12 unreasonable steps.

Idk, I've just been stuck on this "Firmware upgrage encountered an issue" screen for a while now. I got it after I tried to root my device, but then realized I downloaded p5100 instead of p5113. I kept going to the cwm screen and trying to install it because I didn't realize it was the wrong one, and then on reboot it came to this screen. And piece of **** Kies says it can't connect to my device. It'll just keep saying "Connecting" and then pop up saying error please reboot device.

To fix this just follow these steps:
1. plug the tablet into your pc
2. open up device manager and delete the driver with the yellow triangle
3. re insert your usb cable and you tablet will pop up in odin!
I foud it out and it worked for me!
but if this did't work try it again until it works.

I cant get mine to work with the rom or odin, still says firmware upgrade failed and stays like that, cant get into recovery mode anymore

Are you putting phone into download mode when using odin
First open Odin
Turn off phone...
Hold down both volume up and Down at same time. While holding them down plug in USB you will access download mode and Odin should see the phone
now make sure you downloaded that firmware i linked on that page with Odin and extract it after you download.
Then on Odin click on PDA and locate and select the file PDA_SOJU_GRH78_85442_SIGNED in the extracted folder. Once you do that just click start it will flash the stock firmware and will take like 10-20 secs and should be all set

[Q] Bricked phone. Odin and Oneclick does not recognize my device. Help?

I am not sure if i am on the right section. Just kindly move this thread to the right section if im wrong. Thanks.
So, i have flashed Cyanogenmod Rom on my GT 15800 phone using Odin Multidownloader v 2.252.
The flash was successful, then i tweaked on some settings on the recovery and got my phone bricked.
I can still access download mode through voldown+homekey+powerbutton.
Before, i can also access the recovery mode.
I have tried odin to reflash again CWM on my phone, but is stucked on factory.rfs for an hour so i tried to abort it. Closed Odin and unplugged the USB cable.
Now, i cant access the recovery mode. Whenever i open my phone and access recovery mode, i get this.
And Odin doesnt recognize my phone anymore.
Kies aren't running also.

While trying OneClick Unbrick from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153310
I always get this error message.
Yes, my phone is connected to the computer and is in download mode. So i tried clicking on the resolution center.
So i tried the first solution and this is what i get.
Im running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
When I tried the second one, everything worked fine.
And for the third one, it worked fine too.
Now, im running out of solutions on how to unbrick my phone. I have tried everything I can.
Can anyone help me?

After trying it with another PC, you were able to unbrick your phone?
Try re-installing your drivers, that may help you out
it looks like you need a 32bit Windows version to use OneClick Unbrick
give it a try on another pc

First of all remember if you have usb debugging is ON.Secondly try on other pc Desktop,Laptop,Macbook and different versions.Thirstly use odin 3.Finally if it's stuck it's software problem try searching the right Stock roms for your phone.Hope this helps..Be careful with modding your phone you can no longer use android.
Try flashing zerofill tar first through force recovery mode. Refer to my old post from profile for step by step procedure.

[Q] Can't connect to pc

Hello all, so i have a problem. I have a completely stock samsung infuse 4g, running 2.3.6 gingerbread. I would like to root my phone and install a custom rom as i have done before on my last phone, the samsung captivate. I have been running into a problem that continues to annoy me... When i connect my phone to my pc via usb, i get the message on my phone telling me to choose the method i would like to connect, i choose mass storage as i would like to make a backup before i do anything, however, when i choose it, i get the green android logo with the button at the bottom that says "connect to pc". When i click it, the screen thats supposed to show up, shows up, the orange android, however, almost immediately it dissapears before i can even go to "My Computer" to look through the files, and this will happen every time i try it. This has happened since i first got the phone two years ago and has never fixed itself. I have tried multiple usb cables and multiple computers, all to no avail. I'm not new to androids or rooting, but this is just blowing my mind, i cant figure it out. If you guys could help me out, i would greatly appreciate it.

This method is only going to let you see the internal SD memory . Its not a true backup of your system. Just the storage part. I would like to see a picture of the screen when it is green . This after you selected Mass storage. What version of windows. ? what USB driver for INFUSE are you using. Google account has backed up mostly everything. NOT the ROM. I will be flashing the i997ucb3-CWM-root-deodex-extras.rar Using the Odin Method. Let me know if I can help.

I just gotta see if i can ever get kies to recognize my phone....... once it can i'll begin the ODIN process, but i cant start it till i know if my computer can even communicate with it. and i am using all drivers as provided by the latest version of kies. Windows 7.
[EDIT] i keep getting an error when the drivers try to install, which prevents my computer from being able to recognize my phone.

[Q] Lenovo S820 boot loop help!

Hi! I recently purchased Lenovo S820 and I'm ultra happy with this device from any aspect! But.. Well, I searched but didn't find CWM for S820 to flash zips, so I decided to try Flash Gordon to flash a zip file, which, all in all, drove my device to have a boot loop, meaning that it stucks on the boot logo and never turns on. I know that the developer of Flash Gordon isn't responsible at all for my brick, but I don't know what to do now because the default recovery of Lenovo S820 is in chinese and I cannot understand a single thing. Can you help me translate it please? You can see the recovery pic below:

Same problem!
My Lenovo s820 is also stuck in a bootloop after I tried to flash a cwm to it using mobileuncle mtk tools
Now the phone won't go into recovery mode. Everytime I try, it gets stuck in the bootloop where it only shows the lenovo logo and goes off and boots to the same point again, and the loop continues.
It still goes into meta mode and factory mode.
I don't know where to find the stock rom, although I have a backup of it which I took using mtk droid tools
I tried restoring the backup while keeping my phone in meta mode but it did not work
Is it possible to flash the backup using flash tools? Could you give me a tutorial if possible? I'm new to android and don't know much
Please help! I'm panicking and don't know what to do!

You have to install the preloaded drivers first. Then start the flashing process on SP Flash Tools. You'll be prompted to connect your phone. That's when you have to hold the volume down button and connect it without the battery. Your phone will be connected then and the flashing process will happen normally. I had the same issue as you initially but I think its normal because I could still flash my phone and restore it.

Hey guys just a quick question. I recently saw a kitkat ROM for the S820 on needroms so I'm assuming lenovo finally rolled out an update and someone made some variations for it. What I want to know is if anyone has tried it, is it good, does it cause any problems, and is it easy to root?
Link to official ROM: http://www.needrom.com/download/lenovo-s820-vibeui-2-0/
Unofficial variations:

Its normal that it got disconnected by itself. You will see it only for few seconds like 2-5 secs. The moment you see it, you need to right click on it and need to install the driver. The driver too is quite small it merely 10Kb. Check this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180436
Hope this helps.

Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode... and try again

Hi, my tablet SAMSUNG Galaxy tab 2 10.1 (p5110) had an error while installing the stock firmware with Odin. Now it shows:
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again"
I tried with kies: nothing, it won't recognise the tablet.
The problem is this: the tablet can't go on Download Mode! And can't power off until the battery is "out"
Is USB Jig good for this problem?

Thanks, but it doesn't work.
Odin shows "fail".
Can there be nothing to do with this tablet? It doesn't go to download mode and shows the screen --> Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode... and try again :crying:

Is there any notification on your pc when you connect your phone to your PC? If not, try another cable and/or USB port.

OK, but this is not the needed one (this is the driver for internet sharing). Try to change the driver to android device, adb, Samsung adb, Samsung android device or similar via "change driver" or even better, use another pc and start over. The "universal adb driver" package could be helpful.

Thank you! After this, i tried to reinstall firmware.
The procedure fails, but it has left at least! This was not the first time.

OK. Odin found this tab, fine. But flashing failed. So I would double-check whether it is the right firmware (espresdo-wifi or espresso-3g, 7" or 10"). I hope it is not a defect emc.

Thank you for your attention, very kind.
The firmware file is the correct one and tried to download it on both Sammobile and Xda.
Now, I tried to change PCs and start flashing from the beginning. But when I connect to the new PC, the tablet jumps out "Unrecognized USB Device".[emoji724]
My PC regularly has Kies, but it fails to install drivers

Perhaps the tab rejects the new PC cause of missing authentication... So we must stay on the old one.
You said, you have Kies installed. Did you try the way mentioned in the message on the tab? Kies should not need to install drivers AFAIK (ODIN found the tab...) But I'm not shure (and 1000km away from home). Google for Kies drivers and compare the results from ODIN drivers.
You'll get that issue if KIES or any other crap of it is installed while using Odin. Also a anti virus program could cause trouble.
Uninstall kies, but you can keep the driver.
