ICS (v30a) & Bluetooth Pairing OBD2 adapter keeps asking for PIN ;( - LG Optimus 3D

Hey there,
I recently bought a ELM 327 OBD2 bluetooth connector for my car (china clone).
I connects and works flawless with my laptop via bluetooth.
While my p920 (v30b) keeps asking for the PIN, again and again and again.
I tried making bluetooth visible, I tried to start bluetooth before starting various apps and from within various apps.
Just using the bluetooth option from ICS I can get them paired but ANY OBD2 app keeps asking for the PIN. (which is 1234, as I can poair it via the bluetooth menu)
Some apps give an error after some time, like, "make sure no other app uses bluetooth right now" or "connection could not be established" etc.
I read about some ICS / bluetooth problems via google, especially on Sony Xperias with iots Ant+ feature. but I wasnt able to find anythign else then "compatibility issues" between "Bluetooth item 1" and "Bluetooth item 2".
Any ideas ? Maybe someone can suggest me a "cheap" usb cable for my p920 for using it with "obd apps" ?

Instal JB 4.1.2 as second rom and use it from there. It will work

Ouch... :/
Then, what the hell went wrong with bluetooth pairing on ics ?
Maybe there are more bluetooth-pairing apps that might help me before flashing jb ? :S
I just went back to stock rom and im happy with it...except for this bluetooth pairing...damn... :,(
Can I just plug in my cheap usb odb cable into my p920 ? (using usb to mini-usb adapter) and use torque to connect via usb ? Or wont my p920 understand the "fitd" chip/cable via adapter ? Or wont such a cable/adapter solution work at all ?

Did you try "1234" as the PIN? I have bluetooth OBDII tool as well.

Forget it...
you can pair it - no problem... but you can not keep the connection. it ask for pin right you start OBDII application. then start to ask for pin every 5 seconds.
the only way - back to GB or install JB 4.1.2 like a second ROM or JB 4.2.2 as a first ROM (the kernel for the CM10.1 as second rom give a broken BT too - look my signature)
So I suppose it is kernel related issue too.... but I am not sure.

Possibly. Did you try the kernels? I am using iodak's CM10 kernel, BTW.

No... on the manual for dual boot stay that i have to use CM10.1 kernel for the CM10.1 ROM... so...
better use CM10 for OBDII devices till somebody repair the ICS version.

Ah, I see. I am using regular CM10, BTW.

Bluetooth A2DP collision with mobile AP
As you know both bluetooth and wifi uses the same frequency (ISM bands)
but in stock rom KA4 when you use mobile AP as you are listening to music via A2DP , The wireless range of bluetooth headset gets limited to approx 1 meter and when you try disconnect and reconnect it won't connect easily .
I have no Idea what the cuase of this problem is .it may be channel collison or something like this .any one had this problem ?
stock rom is working here without problems , but the rom is slow .. i compare the i9003 with my 2th device=i9000 with custom rom (simply honey) , i9000 is much better than the i9003 that come with stock froyo .

first of all make sure your device is on usb debuging mode and then make sure you installed kies(because it installs needed drivers automaticaly) and use superoneclick from the link I provided below.note that I think your problem is due to lack of your device drivers.

in my own case... it happens from time to time... once or twice a week.
the problem's that it usually hangs up when i'm sleeping (and charging my device, that could be what causes it), so the alarm won't work!!
and always after that, you have to take off the battery in order to turn on the phone again.
Good buddy, next time you can help some body with the same trouble.

[Q] USB harddrive connect to car - broken after OTA 2.3.4

Folks,
with custom ROMs based on 2.3.4 I experienced that I can no longer connect my Sensation via USB harddrive mode to my car's USB.
It worked with stock ROM 2.3.3, even though I had to deactivate USB debugging and turn it on again...
Yesterday I had the time to cross check:
- restored my stock ROM 2.3.3 NAND et voila: USB connection to car is working
- installed 2.3.4 OTA (Vodafone DE): USB connection to car not working...
Connection via USB to PC is working without any problems...
Anyone else experiencing probs here?
(my car is a BMW with the latest navigation system btw)
++ EDIT ++
Problem solved with Pyramid3D 7.2.0 ROM based on 2.3.5
See post 11 in this thread

Incorrect.
If you are on the March 2012 baseband, BT CALL AUDIO does NOT work. Media audio does. This applies to ANY ROM that's not stock LG 2.3.4. There is the option to run a "modded" stock ROM such as BuRom & kewes (sp?) rooted, modded stock 2.3.4. Pair up with faux's GB specfic kernel and it's not terribly bad
You can also attempt to downgrade to an older baseband via kdz method.
As for G2Xer's question, I have not used it, I'll take a look at it, but I think it's more of a driver issue or something like that causing the problem.

Update: I emailed the developer but he said there's no way to reroute the Bluetooth call into the media. He's tried but said he and others have hit a couple blocks.
Additionally, I tried again to downgrade with no avail. For some reason my XP machine does not recognize my G2x when in SW mode. I know were all awaiting for CM10 BUT Im crossing fingers that our great dapharoah will take a look at fixing Bluetooth (no he never stated anything im just assuming since he's working on cm7 still).

I don't think it will get fixed though.
The story I've always been told is LG needed to release something, maybe code, and it's something they didn't have to under open source.
Something like that.
Sent from...I can't tell you, the Nazi XDA Moderators will shut it down.
lol i have been following googles code site pertaining to this problem and it seems like even the CM team has ignored it since cm7 came out right after the v21y baseband release by LG that "fixed gps signal"....well it also broke radio usage until owain92 fixed it. but still nobody has solved the cell over bluetooth issue. media plays just fine, just not phone calls. im hoping that by mazout360 and king-nai compiling themselves and incorporating hard fixes into their rom, that they will not overlook the bluetooth issue. i have a feeling that their rom wil be phenomonal when its finished.

[Q] Any progress concerning USB-OTG on our beloved Optimus 3D?

Hi there!
I just wanted to know, if there are any news concerning the development of a kernel for the Optimus 3D which supports USB on-the-go (OTG).
Is there anyone working on that matter?
Thank you for all your great work!

I found a kernel from Pesach85 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35531644&highlight=otg+lightning#post35531644) for ICS.
Does this one actually support USB-OTG? Has anyone tried it?

At this time none of the available kernels supports usb otg.
Yet we have some great kernel developers (Pesach85 is one of them) that keep doing excelent job and might get there.
The lg nexus 4 officialy doesn't have otg,but someone made it work. And another BUT.... the only problem is that it can be used with a Y cable, with one end connected to the phone and one to the charger. Not like samsung, though its getting closer.

O3d is listed as a compatible device on their site -- http://www.beyondusb.com/compatible . someone needs to test it.
Curiously, LG didn't want to use USB-OTG, and I excepted that it was intentionally disabled by the software, yet USB mass storage is also disabled (much to my dismay). I personally hate MTP, nearly useless for my purposes.
Yet, the OMAP4 CPU have multi-mode USB-OTG host port, so it may have to have it enabled by the registers. LG have rather odd habit of hiding things in the source codes.
