Request for s4 svoice - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I know that it was originally released for the s3 awhile back when it was leaked. But that no longer works is anyone working on getting the svoice off and working on the s3 by any chance?

From what I understand, Samsung has found out about the leak and shutdown the servers. If you install it, you will just get network error. We are hoping that once most carriers start to officialy release the S4 that it will start working again.Until then, I dont think there is really anything else that can be done to get it working.

I'm using the s4 svoice just fine no errors.

Been using it for weeks with no errors. Don't think they could shut that down, otherwise people who have the s4 already couldn't use it either...

Been using it as well with no issues

OK then does anyone have a dowbload link for a working one?

it is NOT a zip file you flash. just unpack it, put it in a folder on your sd card and run the apk like any other program. it is how i install it on my phone running beans v15.

No offense, but considering S voice is a laggy resource hogging mess, why want it? Must folks seem to turn it off as soon as they find out how

All personal preference i suspect. You may hate it and others may love it. Neither position is right or wrong.

Good point!

Could it be possible that those who thought the S4 S-Voice wasn't working had it confused with the new S4 S-Translate? I know there were issues with that one connecting when it was pulled from the system dump.
In any case, I've been using the new S-Voice for a while now... The driving mode is pretty cool, and I still like the "humerous" responses it gives (personality if you will). The voice has got to be changed though, it's murder on the ears.

my bad...cleared cache and a reboot fixed it....
still prefer google search though...manged to find instructions on how to switch the double tap button to launch google voice search instead of S voice...
now, if i can only figure out how to set google as the default for when Bluetooth is used...s voice still dominates that..but switching the speech recognizer to googles instead of Samsung helped S voice perform better.

where did I call you a liar? I said that it wasnt working and that a lot of other people were having issues so to put pictures to back your instruction so we can see where some of us could be doing it wrong... sheesh talk about over reacting a tad.... for example maybe Im doing a step wrong so by adding pictures we get confirmation of what we are doing, so like this step "Open browser, change ua to linux desktop, mac desktop or IE6" could you expand on this a bit more?
okay the only ua string options I see is
Android - Doesnt work get message that I need to update Adobe Flash
Desktop - Doesnt work get the same message
iPhone - Does work but so far every tv show, movie, clip, or trailer I click say The video is not available on the iPhone
so ya if you can go over the string part and let us know which your using that would be appreciated.

Well, it does,
just takes the ability to know that you have to complete all the steps listed in any instructions for anything to work.
a correct way to say it, would have been something like:
"I tired your apk, and here is a pic of the error, ( insert pick here)
I see that your on such and such rom, does it only work for that style of rom, or did I do something wrong?"
Well something, somewhere around something like that.

That's my thread I linked you too.
Be humble, newcomer
Be more respectful, to all in this community.
Give facts about what rom you tried this exact one on.
The more info you give when asking for help, the more help you get.

Now,
open your stock browser
Press menu
Go to setings
(Some stock browsers make you got into Advanced settings to see next option, some don't)
Select user agent
If your browser doesn't offer this option, you fail a step and the logical next step is to get a browser/rom that has that option.
so then what browser are you using then and what string are you using, obviously it would make sense to post your exact settings if its working for you. if your running a custom string then alright Dolphin HD lets us use custom so again like you said providing more information helps and works both ways.

Google Voice Dial apk.. Works on rooted phones!

One of the major disappointments I had when I first got this phone was discovering that the OS doesn't come with a voice dialer. So I started trying the various voice dial apps on the market, and none worked well. After much searching, I found a ICS compatible version of the standard voice dial application. So I'm going to attach it here for those of you that want to have this functionality.
I installed it via the standard app installer, then I went into titanium backup and converted it into a system app. I'm sure there's a more direct method, but this worked for me.
Hope this works for everyone, but so far it's worked perfectly for me!

Voice Dialer is messed up
I originally posted this in the Apps forum; but it is probably more appropriate here:
I installed Google Now and the search works fine. However, when I initiate the voice dialer via my BT headset, I hear very fast, unintelligible gibberish. When I say "Call Bill Johnson" it returns totally inaccurate results and the voice is at 4X speed. S Voice, while somewhat inaccurate, worked 80-90% of the time via BT.
Does anyone else who has done this on their S3 have a working BT initiated voice dialer?
Are you having issues with having GN send text to contacts or sending "note to self"? I am having issue with both. I tried to do the work around using Calendar as a contact and then having GN send a sms to it so that it will post but most of the time it ends up doing a google search on "text calendar....ect". "note to self..." gives me a black screen and then an FC shortly after. I'm using the M6 zip file.

I sending a text message is hit or miss i guess, however i never got it to actually do it for me automatically. if i say "text mike hey whats up" it will pull up mike (sometimes/not consistently) and have my message "hey whats up" ready for sending but i have to actually go again and finalize the send. It's not like with S voice or Vlingo where it will send it for you if there is high confidence or if you tell it to send. I guess we'll just have to wait until proper version of Jellybean come out for our phones (GS3 VZW in my case). Till then we'll just have to deal with not so perfect Google Now.

Should be able to go into the applications and clear the cache for Google search/voice - so when you double click home it will ask which you want to use? not 100% sure, but usually that's how you reset options like that.

Should just be the Google search one, if you haven't already tried that one. also, check the original threat I posted i belive they have an "uninstall" option? that would be the only other option i can think of. I don't use voice dial. sorry.
So to install this, you just need to download the zip file and flash in recovery? I read through the other link and its seems confusing. I'm not sure if I need 6 or 7. And the warning stated if I don't know what one I need I shouldn't be attempting it. So I'm nervous.
Do the mikey7 version. To get offline and online dload the biggest file. On an s3 you should be Ok doing the big file. Just download put on root of your sd card and on recovery flash the zip file. I've been using it but I don't use the cards to save battery. I just use the voice search. It's much better than s voice or the voice search of ics. Check on howbibused home2shortcut to assign it to the home button by clicking my name to see my posts. You will enjoy it.

[HOW TO] Install Note8 APKs no root

I was at BestBuy today and decided to extract some APKs from the Note8. I can confirm most of these work, like the Camera. If you have that install error factory reset your phone and don't set a screen lock method then install then ASAP. Stuff built for API 25/Android 7.1.1 wont install. Most will though. Don't try installing the keyboard. I will upload this to androidfilehost also.

So what's the APK called in the package from OP?
We can simply install the apk right?
This works for me on a G955W with the August security patch: whatever Secure Startup is set to, toggle it (i.e. turn it on if it's off and turn it off if it's on), then reboot. Installing APKs over top of system apps works now.
Is there apps that can be installed without factory reset , without package already exist on installation?
Just if someone is able to normally install at least one, can you let me/us know which one ? (to know if its worth to download, for slow internet connection like me) thanks

Android Messages - No preferred sim selected

I got the new HTC U11+ today.
After installing Android Messages app, I get a notification "No preferred sim selected". Anyone know where I define this in settings?
I found the same question over in the U11 forum but no answer. I will pass along the answer if someone can answer.
I will Google again and if I solve, well ask moderator to close this thread in lieu of the U11 thread.
I got this too, compares to stock messenger, Android Messenger could "Mark read" from notification but stock messenger doesn't, which is a pity.
I tried to get rid of "No preferred sim selected" but nothing worked.
+1 for me. It's definitively kind of strange, first phone I've ever had that doesn't let me replace the stock messenger.
Yes same here. I've started using textra. Pretty good

I got this too, compares to stock messenger, Android Messenger could "Mark read" from notification but stock messenger doesn't, which is a pity.
I tried to get rid of "No preferred sim selected" but nothing worked.

Thanks for the responses. If the app is built to recognize 2 sim slots, why not a setting in the app to define which one? #wtfgoogle
I downloaded Textra as well. Very good replacement.

Sorry, that's weird...
Waiting patiently for my U11+...
i had suffer this situation too,is there any way to solve the problem.thanks all of you.
I think I managed to fix it by manually setting it through adb using
Code:
adb shell settings put global multi_sim_sms 1
also is the "SIM cards" menu missing for everyone else I can open it using nova launcher but its like half broken. The entry to change the preferred sim is there but clicking on it does nothing.
Android Messages seems a bit slow to me, like clicking on a thread, there is a small delay and I can see that the app registers my input half a second after I tap on a thread.

I can confirm now that Android Message works like a charm, got an update yesterday, nothing more to say about it. Me happy

Have you make adjustments in settings in app or phone? How you choose sim for sending messages?

There are 2 issues with Android Message:
- lag: I have none on my U11+ (EU), but had it on my former U11...
- sim: the ADB command via PC, posted a few posts back, did the trick

My U11+ is 100% stock, locked bootloader, in other words, not rooted
