I got a huawei U8800, which for some reason, the creators thought its a good idea to GLUE the factory screen protector to the screen.
So I used various liquids in order to try to remove that glue, the list varies from soap, WD-40, olive oil and some other stuff.
I am not sure, but chances are that the liquid that got inside is the WD-40, which DID clean the screen from the glue, but now the phone is filled with it from the inside, and even if the phone is flipped upside down, THE LIQUID KEEPS GOING UP!
the phone functions, but it looks horrid, EVERYTHING WORKS, but the screen looks like it has a bubble bath theme to it.
what do I need to do? is the phone screwed? can WD-40 dry up?
this is the second phone this month that something has happened to it, the first one was a cobalt with an extremely small ram amount, which caused it to malfunction after several minutes.
wasted $500 on phones this month...
WD40 is better than olive oil inside the phone anyway...-.-
You should try to unscrew the phone and clean it from the inside...

Hello,
I have invinsibleshield for my HTC Touch Cruise (full cover) and so far I have been very happy with the protection it provides.
Unfortunately yesterday something strange has happened. When I took out the PDA from my pocket (trousers) I noticed one spot underneath the cover, on the device display. It seems that it is some liquid under the shield. The device itself works fine, so I assume that LDC is not broken.
What could have happened??? There is only one solution - IS absorbed some sweat and transported it below the surface? WOW! Now, the case is how to get rid of it. I tried drying and the spot is much smaller now, but it still exists. Any ideas (except keep your butts dry ) ???
P.S.
Is there any way to make IS not so sticky? On the touchscreen area it's quite frustrating.
Get a pin and pierce a pin-hole where the bubble is (gently, gently, easy does it!). Air or liquid will come out when you press the bubble down after piercing (gently)!
I tried but it doesn't work. It that there is no enough liquid just to get rid of this through the hole.
I hope that the display will not be damaged because of so long contact with my swat. How the hell it is possible that it got inside and cannot be removed/evaporate not!!!
I really don't have a solution for that short of removing the shield. Some shields a repositionable. Check on your shield vendor's website to see what they say about that.
Try placing one of those silicon bead bags on it and leaving it for a while, it should absorb the moisture
Just a word of warning...and I know this was prevalent with the Evo and a few other HTCs.
I carefully went to apply a high-er quality screen protector, and used a very small amount of water/soap mixture to set it properly. When I squeegeed the water out, almost all of it went directly through the screen where the earpiece is. It then proceeded to get trapped between the actual LCD panel and the glass screen. It seeped all the way down the screen.
After researching, I put the phone in a bowl of dry rice and put a heat lamp over it. The water dried out, but it left a large wavy line along where the edge of the water stopped. Brought it to sprint and they ended up swapping it out for me, but just wanted to give a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up! I ordered a screen protector and was going to apply it the same exact way.
So here's the situation:
I was applying a screen protector from bestskinsever (huge fan of their stuff). You need to apply a small amount of soapy water to correctly apply the film. I finished applying it evenly and then turned my phone on, only to find (to my horror) that there was what appeared to be moisture under the screen, which made the screen look terrible when the backlight shone through it.
I immediately turned the phone back off, pulled the battery, and stuck the phone into a plastic bag full of rice (a solution I had heard of at some point). My hope is that the water will eventually evaporate and be soaked up by the rice, returning my phone to it's previous state of awesomeness.
What do you think the chances are of that? None of the water sensors on the phone or the battery were tripped by the water, but the screen looks pretty ugly as of last night.
Anyone else have to deal with this? Did I do everything right once discovering the issue?
Thoughts welcome.

I had this happen with my mytouch 4g. I applied a skinomi protector and when I turned on the screen I noticed the moisture under the screen and it made the screen look discolored. It did get a lot better after a few days but it still had a water stain on the LCD.

Don't think your standing a good chance. Are you sure the water is underneath the screen and not between the protector and the screen? If I were you, I'd remove the backcover. That frees the device's sides so the water might run out there. You might also try to suck it out with a strong vacuum cleaner Just be careful not to scratch your Sensation.
I strongly suggest you NOT to use vacuum cleaner because it may cause damage to delicate hardware of the phone. Because Vacuum cleaner creates static electricity.
As for the water are you sure it is under the screen not between protector and screen?
If i were you i would considering removing screen protector. If it is still there it means it is under scteen and since you cannot disassemble lcd screen i would remove back cover and pray for it to be evaporate.
Hope this help
whole reason why I stay away from water solution application based SPs.
they may stick better and all but the risk...
someone needs to come up with a better solution for these "military grade" SPs.
op, sorry to hear about your phone. I hope it fixes it self. if not, hope you have insurance. (I know it would suck shelling out another $130 for the deductible when you just bought the phone but...)

Are you sure? Never heard of that...
yes dude i don't mean to offend you if i did then sorry but once i used to clean my computer from dust with a vacuum cleaner or a hair dryer. Hair dryer is much worse but vacuum cleaner is no good either.

You certainly did not offend me, that's okay, I was just wondering whether it was just a statement with no real knowledge behind it or if it was for real, because I have never heard of such a thing. I may or may not be stupid
BTW, I have also cleaned my computer with both a vacuum cleaner and a hairdryer (with cold air of course) and didn't have any problems.
did u get ur phone get rid of the water with the rice and how long it takes i have same issue here.

This happened to me and it disappeared in about 8 hours I was freaking out till it worked well then my touch screen started to not detect my fingers so I hit up tmobile telling them my touch screen screwed up and they sent me another one for 5
Bucks.

If it is screwed the descent original screens are not cheap, the cheap ones on ebay are terrible...
HTC wont replace due to non manufacturing damage...
hopefully your phone has a catastrophic mboard failure and they replace it for another reason
looks like i may have gotten some water under my screen as well. i'm seeing "let it evaporate" as the only solution and "pray it doesnt stain your LCD".. what if it does stain my LCD? is there any repair solution? anyone have a link to a good training video?
The problem is interesting and has several characteristics.
First: First, there seems to be an oily surface on my sensation that persists even after cleaning it.
Second: The surface of the screen has formed an odd shape that is containing this oily surface. For example, the oily surface is in a oval shape, and outside of that oval shape it seems as though the oleophobic coating is still there which prevents it from getting dirty; it strangely acts as a barrier which keeps the oil within the oval.
After battling with this problem, I decided to go on a hunt on figuring out any remedy to the problem. I realized that the problem might be because the oleophobic coating has worn away. Or, something far more probable and unfortunate is that the windex that my brother used on both of our sensations to clean the screen a while ago might have caused some chemical reaction in causing this.
I decided to clean the screen with alcohol pads, eye glass cleaner, and even went on to use Rain X to fix it. All of these solutions lasted a day, and then the oval oily spot would come back.
It seems as though the screen has turned into an oil magnet where wiping it away won't do anything...at all. It's as though its trapped there until the use of alcohol pads or glass cleaner is applied with a micro fiber cloth. But again, after some use it just gets dirty again.
I finally figured out my cheapest solution would be to clean it with eye glass cleaner and apply a screen protector.
My concerns in buying a screen protector is that I need it to be clear without pixelating the screen (like Zagg) all while being able to use Swype effectively. any suggestions?
By the way, I found some others that had this problem but no solutions either: http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus/487288-odd-spot-my-screen-wont-come-off.html
EDIT: SORRY; Mod's can you please move this to Questions and Answers... sorry about the post.
The ammonia in the Windex was the most likely culprit in causing this problem. Unfortunately, once used on a screen with oleophobic coating there might be irreparable harm. The reason for this is because the glass has been bonded with the oleophobic coating and the ammonia works to destroy the finish and the polymers on the screen.
I am sorry that I can't offer you an suggestions on what screen protector to use, but there seems to be a thread indicating the ultra thin and, apparently ultra cheap, lcd screens are fine to use with this.
i just use a microfibre cloth to clean my screen, And my breath (its potent enough) And that works well for me
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1164740 I have one, Fits perfectly you cant even notice its on if done correctly. Swype is just as responsive and no blurry image or nothing !!

Thanks. I am trying to find the same protectors without using a Paypal account (I don't have one, nor do I want one).
Are these the same ones from Amazon?

Because they got crappy reviews...
Since last week I've suddenly been plagued by a filthy layer of grease accross the screen of my phone. It covers about 80% of the screen surface with just a few areas towards the edges where it doesn't reach.
No matter how many times I think I've wiped it off, as soon as I begin touching the phone again, it quickly reappears. It has a somewhat cloudy / misty appearance with a tendency to accentuate normal fingerprint and grease marks ten fold compared to previous. It looks disgusting and is seriously spoiling my enjoyment of the phone.
It began towards the end of our recent holiday. I've got two guesses as to what may have caused it. The first possibility is having immediately touched the screen with dirty hands after eating a KFC chicken meal (very greasy). The other is a somewhat vague recollection of accidentally slobbering a drop of toothpaste onto it late one evening, which if I'm correct may have damaged the materials within the screen?
I've become very frustrated with the way it looks and am beginning to contemplate some drastic measures in attempt to clean it.
I'm considering using isopropyl alcohol. I know a lot of people warn against it but on the whole the evidence I've found suggests many have used it previously without encountering any noticeable problems. Even on modern smartphones with digitisers like ours.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as its driving me crazy seeing my phone like this and a simple dry micro fibre cloth has proved insufficient to clear it permanently.
Id love to help but never faced such a situation usually when i eat some mcdonalds and touch the screen i can notice the grease and all that but after i use a wiping cloth and it does the job

Yeah I'm starting to think that the toothpaste theory is how it actually happened. It's resembling a similar appearance to what my old Nokia 5800 went like after I naively attempted to remove a scratch from it's screen using toothpaste. Very murky and almost powdery looking dirt that refused to go away.
It's as though the grease is 'locked in' to the screen. I can wipe the screen and temporarily everything appears back to normal again. That is until a few minutes into using it once more that it goes back to looking like someone has thrown it into the chip pan!

i've used rubbing alcohol and it's worked fine. You can try peroxide i think ( i haven't tried peroxide...)
usually a microfiber cloth does the trick. Make sure your fingers are clean when you use it again, your hands have a lot of oil on them...
That has got to be one of the best topic titles I've read on this site.
i was imagining a scenario where you accidentally tipped your chicken into toothpaste instead of hot sauce and somehow a piece of toothpaste chicken fell onto your phone
Lol title! Use glasses cleaner and a microfiber cloth!
