This has finally been officially released on the Play Store under the name DIII4A! And it is still free to download! You can download it from the follow link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n0n3m4.DIII4A&hl=en
This new release does not have much for an increase in performance, but it does have a simplified installation. The gl2progs folder is no longer needed as the app installs it and the configuration files are also not really needed, but can still be used for more advanced tweaking. There are also new options to use ETC1 compression and cache, but I would recommend leaving those off as it increased loading times for me and also reduced performance by a little bit.
This game runs great on my Nexus 4 and other high-end devices! Playing with the onscreen controls is obviously not very good, but if you have a PS3 controller lying around you can get it to work perfectly with it using the Sixaxis Controller app. Just make sure to set it up to emulate a mouse and choose enable mouse in the app's control options (requires root). Purchase a GameKlip too for the ultimate gaming experience on the go! Mouse and keyboard also work great through either bluetooth or USB OTG.
1) Install Doom 3 on your PC and make sure it is updated to the latest version which is 1.3.1.
2) Copy over the base folder from the Doom 3 installation on your PC to your phone into a folder called diii4a. You can change the folder name if you like, just make sure you point the app to the new folder and you CANNOT put spaces in the folder name.
3) Install the app. The latest version is currently v1.1.
4) Start it up and you should have this amazing game running on your phone or tablet. Network features also work and you can even play games with people playing on PC! Here is a YouTube video showing this in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN26X93NUno
Thanks to InsaneNutter for pointing this out!
Also, if you're running it on an older device and the fps are too low, you can disable all the lighting effects by just selecting the "Disable lighting" option at the main menu of the app. The game will run MUCH smoother.
Here is a great step-by-step video tutorial by RolandDeschain79 that also shows some gameplay comparisons between having the lighting enabled and disabled on his Note 2. Thanks man!
This is the Russian thread where it originally came from: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=330329
I installed the game and it works on my PC but when I want to open it on my phone when I hit "Start the game" the app closes itself...
what is wrong?

The gl2progs folder needs to be inside the base folder, not the diii4a folder. Also, you can delete all the other stuff in that folder. The only things that should be in the diii4a folder are the base folder and the stderr and stdout text documents.
Sounds promising. I'll try this out after I buy the PS3 controller app.
Thanks.
Thanks its working now. It seems that graphics are on low setting and I can't change them

Yeah I don't think the graphics can be changed much in its current state. I looked a little at the Russian thread and it seemed like there was another version with all the lighting effects, but downloading it came up with a 404 error and I can't make anything out cause Google translate doesn't help very much.

I just thought I'd share this on here. I came across this Doom 3 port a little while ago and it runs almost flawlessly on my Nexus 4. Playing with the onscreen controls is obviously not very good, but if you have a PS3 controller lying around you can get it to work perfectly with it using the Sixaxis Controller app. I also have a GameKlip to go with it and I absolutely love being able to play a good console game using a good console controller on the go. I've attached the apk needed. Once installed, just create a folder called diii4a on the root of your storage then copy over the base folder from your Doom 3 installation on your pc into that folder. Also make sure to extract the gl2progs folder I attached into your base folder. Here's the thread where it originally came from. It's all in Russian so I have no clue what's going on in the thread http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=330329&st=1160

Thanks, had been trying to get this working for ages but I didn't know I needed the Gl2progs folder too. Works almost perfectly and with a bluetooth controller too. Can't wait to see what the developer comes out with next.
Anyone provide the PC folder/files that are necessary?
Thanks

hey, this is amazing, must say however i'm a bit of a noob to configuring sixaxis, could you either share your six axis profile or give us a hint on how to configure it for best effect? all ive done atm is bind a/d and look up and down to the left and right sticks where appropriate, but its not the most pleasant experience to use, its quite jerky, have i gone about this the wrong way?

In the Doom 3 app there is an option to hide on screen controls and use a mouse, and there is also an option in Sixaxis Controller to emulate a mouse using the right stick. It works great when you set it up that way.
aha, thank you, i will look into it.
I get the game started fine, when I'm loading the game itself after selecting new game it gives me an in game error saying what's in the picture.

Doom 3 BFG Edition?
Hey, I cant find my copy of Doom 3 from way back in 2005 or whatever. If I were to purchase the new (remake?) BFG Edition of Doom 3 do you think this would still work? Anyone try this or know the differences between the two game editions?

I haven't tried it but I wouldn't think it'd work because the original will only work on version 1.3.1 and I'm sure the remake has quite a bit more changes to it. Plus The graphics are better so it would have even more trouble running it. If you do end up buying it though, give it a shot and let us know.
Finally figured out how to get lighting!
2 ways
1. Download ROM toolbox, go to the folder "base" and press the button "new" and hit file.
Name it "autoexec.cfg" (without quotes) now click on the newly created file and open it as a text file and choose the text editing app of your choice.
Now type in "set r_nolight 0" (again without quotes) and save it.
Enjoy!
2. Start up the app and where it says command add in so it looks like this "game.arm + set no_light 0" (without quotes)
I have not tested this so you may have to play around with it and report results
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may have to lower you resolution to make it more playable, frame rate drops quite a bit with lighting.

Yes, that is my review on the application. (obviously, since you can see the name matches, not trying to hide it or would of changed the name). I am pretty new to the marketplace and android world, so I am sorry if that is a rule. Is there a rule about not being able to review my own application? If so, I will remove the review, not to sure about that, if I am not suppose rate Google would of disabled it for you? Just like Google disables purchasing your own application from the market. Let me know, thank you. =)
On the other note, please let me know how the application turns out. I'm running it on a Galaxy S phone and it's been working fine on it. Although due to CPU limits load down the game, such as some games lag on my phone but run just fine at normal speed when I run it on a Tegra 2 tablet.
im not trying to disrespect you or anything i just thought it was funny because ive never seen that before. i checked it out to see how it compared to kongregate. im sure your app will get noticed soon enough. good luck.

There has been an update that allows the users to indirectly port the android game through the site for those flash games that even do HTTP Header Referral check.

Did you try New Game -> URL Address -> Indirect Loading?
Edit: I tried loading http://apps.facebook.com/restaurantcity/ through my facebook account in the app and it seems like its an android flash limitation that does not make it load past (Loading -> Initializing Screen).

Been trying Canabalt, and the lower quality version works, but there's a fair delay from pressing the jump button to the guy actually jumping. The high quality one I can't get it started, it asks for X or C to start the game, but it doesn't seem to register any key presses.

Yes, the main basic source originates from my business partner, Anderdroid, he definitely gets lots of credit for the base (horizontal, buttons and flash view). I've built off, improved, fixed aspects of it. And also added features that made it the Flash Game Player today. What we agreed on was not to share the source, I mentioned to Anderdroid multiple times when I was building off of it. So there was miscommunication between us. Anyhow, we will be resolving this via MSN.
Cool works well slightly, cause i was trying to play a game that i downloaded off miniclip and it didnt load also after the first level of monster truck, it goes to a blank grey screen with like a play button in the middle and then the program crashes.
Worked ok for one level o nmoster truck needs work, but this is an awesome app 4 out of stars from me, just need it to work on more flash sites and not crash.
Thanks for the awesome app!!

UPDATE
-Version 1.1.35 works without modifications. Purchase from the market then side load (thanks Philburkhardt)
OLD
Hey guys I found the ultimate fix that remedies the landscape issue and allows you to play the game without chain fire. I received this tip from user Brazooka from another forum, I'm not sure if this fix has been posted here but I'll just add it on in case someone missed it.
"The issue is not the APK but the SD Data...
That's what I did:
- Used v1.1.37 APK cracked by Nops
- SD Data downloaded via Wi-Fi (let the game download)
This way the game works fine with Chainfire3D (Qualcomm plugin)
If you want to run the game without Chainfire:
- download the "SD for ALL" ( Which I will not link here for obvious reasons)in the first topic. Extract ONLY these directories:
\ea\deadspace\published\ParticleBaseTextures
\ea\deadspace\published\texturepacks_ui
\ea\deadspace\published\textures
- overwrite the previous ones, the ones the game itself downloaded from EA servers.
VOILA!"
I haven't put much time into it so if anyone has any issues feel free to let us know.
I found THIS thread. Maybe it will help. It's worth a shot.

Install Chainfire3D and the Plugins, then use the PowerVR plugin, if that doesn't work, use the Qualcomm plugin.

That's what I'm hoping will happen, but the fact that no other EA games are compatible with the Transformer isn't giving me much hope. The Transformer can't even access Flexion. I finally got Need for Speed Shift working on the TF. I bought it months ago for my EVO. I had to jump through flaming hoops to get it running. There are even currently two versions on the market, at two different pricepoints. Neither of them are compatible with the TF, WTF? As far as I'm concerned, EA is currently no better than Gameloft. Placing [email protected]#t hardware requirements on their games. I would love for EA to prove me wrong and open up Dead Space for a wide variety of devices, after the month long Xperia Play exclusive period ends. But, seeing as I still can't play the Sims 3 I bought 9 months ago on my TF, I'm not expecting it.
Sorry for the mini-rant .
I think the problem could be fixed via the AndroidManifest.xml file inside the APK. The file specifies orientation, and what priority it takes.
I made a custom xml file for it.. not sure if it works, but someone would need to repackage the apk with it. I am not having any luck getting a apk to repack today...

That is perfectly understandable. As long as you could confirm, I think that would satisfy most people here that it is fixable.
Here is the link: http://db.tt/F1FIOQc
All it does is edit this line:

Thats the problem I was having. I am not sure what is causing it either. Its above my head.
Been trying to figure it out. The simple line change shouldn't of changed anything to that effect..
If anything, it might be the forward slash I added at the end of the statement. Could try removing that, and giving it another shot.
Edit: Nevermind. I was able to get it to compile. It was the slash. No go. I will continue to take a look at it.
any one fix it?
Nope. At least I haven't yet. Everything I have tried, it ignores. I have a feeling that its something deeper then just the AndroidManifest.xml file.
Been looking at the .java data for an override statement, but I did not see one.
Pretty much at a dead end from my end.

Just wondering if anybody thought of it.

Hey Guys!
1. Prolog
I found a way to Mod GTA III for Android. Ok, I didn't find a new way. It's the same way as the computer with some little indirrection. Befor I start telling you how to Mod GTA III on Android, I want to warn you.
2. Caution!
There are several problems ( other file names, missing dff or txd...).
1. The Mobile gta3.img, which is called gta3_unc.img has got 3859. 11 fewer than the Orginal gta3.img. The vehicles are used from the oldveh_unc.img.
2. The filenames of the IMG files can be various. On my SGSII the are called gta3_unc.img and oldveh_unc.img. But i already saw filenames like: gta3_ptr.img, gta3_atr.img (the same for oldveh_xxx.img)
3. Many people got problems with GTA III (crashes after Loading, or other problems).
4. If you Mod your GTA you may get more problems.
Example: I tested a new Pumpgun on PC. After installation I tried. Works fine.
The same on Mobile. If i press the button for shotting, the game crashes.
5. Dont install 1234567890 at one time or you wont know which mod causes problems and crashes.
6. There are TXD files that can't be opened with TXD viewer applications, because of unknown problems.
3. Installation
If you want to add new Cars, you need to replace the .dff and .txd within oldveh_unc.img.
If you want to Chance Buldings txd's replace the files within gta3_unc.img.
Befor you Mod anything, make a backup of all files or you have to delete files and have to re-download them.
Now let's start with modding.
Step 1:
Download IMG Tool 2.0.
Download the Mod : For an example I use Pegeot 306 Mexican Taxi to replace the Taxi.
Step 2:
Connect your Smartphone to your Computer. Browse to your internal SD-Card e.g.: Computer\GT-I9100\Phone\Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3\models. Copy oldveh_unc.dir and oldveh_unc.img to the desktop.
Step 3:
Open oldveh_unc.img with IMG Tool 2.0 and replace taxi.dff and taxi.txd.
After this, rebuild the archive with: Commands -> Rebuild Archive.
Step 4:
Exit IMG Tool and copy oldveh_unc.dir and oldveh_unc.img to e.g.: Computer\GT-I9100\Phone\Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3\models.
Step 5:
Copy handling.cfg from e.g.: Computer\GT-I9100\Phone\Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3\data to your desktop.
Step 6:
Open handling.cfg with a Texteditor. Replace the lines in the handling.cfg with the one from the readme file.
Step 7:
Copy handling.cfg to e.g.: Computer\GT-I9100\Phone\Android\data\com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3\data.
Step 8:
Start GTA III and have fun ( if it works )

wow can't wait to try this out
bat shyt crazy sikk..
I own/operate a site that's home to some of the worlds most reputable GTA modders and we've been teaching kats how to mod the GTA series for several years now, so this is gonna get interesting..
thanks for the heads up Joker (you2 Wired)
Well, first off I'm glad it works without lag on my Nexus S,next I think I'll be testing what kind of polycount is reasonable/car so that the game doesn't lag.Don't think it's depending too much on ram or cpu power, since on pc it was more about the game engine limits.
The polycount could be one reason for some problems I had while testing some Mods.
And there are some txd's that give me error when I try to open theme.
Example: RADAR.TXD
I think this is the Map when you open the map (press on the radar). Only the little radar in the corner can be changed (replace radar00.txd - radar63.txd in gta3_unc.img)
If i try to open it i get this error: Out of memory while expanding memory stream.
My english is not the best, but I think this error means something like, the images insede the txd are to big.
And if T try to open the file with other txd applications, then I get other errors or I see no image, but the info says height and width: 52428.
Is it possible to replace the collision models?
I have two cars downloaded that I would like to install and both have custom collision files.

Hmm... I'll test it.
EDIT: I can't find any car for GTA III with new collision. The cars I found are for Vice City with new Col, and they didn't work. But you can modify the .col files from android. I think new carcollisons are possible.
the collisions can be modified via SteveM's Coll Editor http://ce2.steve-m.com/
just pull/copy the vehicles.col out of com.rockstar.gta3\files\GTA3\models\Coll (just like Joker's OP)..
then you can load it up via Coll Editor and extract/import/edit and/or replace individual col files

Hmm... Interesting. I'll have to test it out when I get home from work.
Benn browsing for some cars and I have around 10 I have downloaded. I'll see how many the game can handle.
dang this is awesome
So,I've tested the game out with 2 models so far.
The one made for Vice City didn't work,game stopped loading,although it's relatively low poly,around 10k I presume.
The second one originally made for Gta 3 works great, and it's also around 10k,the game has no lag whatsoever,so I think cars need to be exported to Gta 3 from Zmodeler 1/2 so they can be recognized by the game.
(sorry,no images cause I can't post links yet)
As for Col's as Kotton said, the best thing is to edit the stock col's yourself, but you can also import col's with that program, although I don't recommend it,as some col's caused my game to crash even on the Gta 3 pc version.
Well I have been testing a few car mods and have had no luck with the majority of the cars.
The only car mod that actually worked was this:
http://www.gtainside.com/en/download.php?do=comments&cat=40&start=0&id=3305&orderBy=downloads
But when I loaded it up Im having some texture problems. Here are some screenshots:
Can anyone else test this mod and see if its just me? I also installed the collision file and tried it without it as well.
Using the Galaxy Nexus
I had the same problem with some cars. I thnik the problem is, that this car is vor VC or to much polycount.
I've tested the car,and it looks the same at me too,it's not a polycount issue, the car has around 12k,I think it has more to do with how the car is modeled, maybe he has too many overlapping polys,or the poly density is too large/car part.
what a trip, those are definitely artifacting polys.. but that's what you get when messn with Inside, it's a gamble lol - I'm gonna test my own Max exported vehicle asahp
I also just hit up Oleg to see if we can get the III/VC filters updated to Zm2, ffs I do NOT want to go back to using Zm1, that thing's ancient UI is a freakn nightmare lol
You can work in Zmodeler 2,export as old *.z3d and then export to gta 3 from Zmodeler 1.
---------- Post added at 01:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 PM ----------
I've tested more cars, among them a Dodge Challenger by Pumbars made specifically for Gta 3,which doesn't work on the phone, after I checked the car out in Zmodeler 2,I think the problem is with the program that exported the car, mods exported with Max might not work, and the ones exported with ZModeler 2 do.
ah snap.. I completely forgot about that shiz - thanks Wired, I'll do just that
edit; (this site doesn't support strike!? ^ ..wtf!? hahaha)
LOL we're trippn bro.. Zm2 already offers III and VC dff export - we select it from the drop down options xD (see what using Max does to ya!? lol)
Made over at the Russian 4pda.ru forum's this is a sweet port/emulator of the original PC game. Next stop DOOM 3 yay

ORIGINAL RUSSIAN FORUM THREAD
The developer should be adding Xperia Play Controls but as its an early Beta (Would not of thought it by the quality) is has basic options in the app (game in full of course) you can use USB controllers if know your input event (e.g dev/input/event?). I have tried mapping the buttons on Xperia Play the D-pad works and you can map Cross. If anyone finds a better way of mapping to play please post your findings.
Short Description:
The legendary game id Software on the Quake III engine is now on Android. Description: Return to Castle Wolfenstein - PC game, first person shooter, developed by id Software, Gray Matter Interactive, Nerve Software and published by Activision November 20, 2001 exclusively for personal computers running operating systems Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS. player will have to go in the shoes of Agent-2 from the organization Office of Secret Actions (OSA) named William "BJ" Blazkovich, who was the protagonist of Wolfenstein 3D . by this port - I, native-part of the port based on kwaak3, and JNI + Java part I rewrote again, because I could not live with krivosti kwaak3 (though maybe I'm kind of surpassed it in terms of the curvature). As you know, Return to Castle Wolfenstein under GPL license, source code will be available after publication on Google Play. However, until such time as I am satisfied with the rating on Google Play, I'll be posting the source code only on price support (under license), and the Russian Post ... you get the idea. On HTC One X port is well tolerated (there was only one lag of up to 15 FPS for the whole game) and I was playing on the phone to start the game, you must throw the Main folder from the folder with the game for PC / sdcard/rtcw4a / main I hope you bought the original game (it's worth it), and if so, do not forget to patch to the latest version. Or buy a game on Steam as I am. Please do not embed in my post direct links to pirated versions of the game, it's not good. But links to my posts with links - no problem. All suggestions please leave exclusively here, drugs should not be written, the box is clogged.

Hell yeah ......has any one tried using gamekeyboard on this yet? Only thing is that the game, except for the menu, is all distorted across the screen.
unfortunately, i cant start a game...due to how distorted the game gets i cant tell what is going on ....the only thing that actually woks is the main menu lol
It works perfectly on my nook color though lol....maybe I can find a way to use my play as a controller haah...in combination with gamekeyboard I could use the hardware keys....now to just find an app that let's me so this

I tried this on a 7" generic tablet and it works very smooth, control is a lot better if you set "Always run" to OFF, and bump the mouse sensitivity to your liking.
Still, I tried using a mouse through OTG(I checked "Hide onscreen buttons and enable mouse" option before starting the game), and I can see the Android mouse cursor in-game, but I cannot use it to click on "Play", "Options", etc.
If I swipe my finger across the screen I can move the in-game mouse cursor(different than the Android one), but I cannot select anything, as the onscreen buttons are disabled...
is there a way to set in English, whe i press button i can't shot with the gun for example can you help me

Where did you get the Original game (Sd Data) from? Sounds like you need to delete Language Pak files which are not English. The app is complete English menus in app and in game for me with my version from Steam.
files which are to be put in the folder (rtcw4a)??
I installed the game on my pc and directory (Program Files) I have the folder: Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
And there in a lot of files that weigh a total of 627 MB.
Which of all I have to put those files?

The same guys from 4pda.ru are porting it. On youtube there must be a prealpha video. Oh and by the way found yesterday in the Internet a apk which is about 50mb. Its a little piece of the game for just showing the gameplay where you can walk around and look at mutants and so on. Must say it looks perfect, smooth as butter( but only touch atm) Believe its called projectS.T.A.L.K.E.R.
So from what i saw this absolutely will be a hit.
Well with the final beta apk the game works fully now. Yay. Now to make a gamekeyboard layout for it. I'll let you know once its ready.

That's right a dreamcast emulator which seems quite decent
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.reicast.emulator
Description
reicast is a multi-platform Dreamcast emulator.
The project is currently in Alpha, usability, performance and stability issues are to be expected. We'll fix them the following weeks! As we only have a few android devices, we'd really love to see your videos of it running!
Cortex-A9 dualcore, 1ghz+ is the minimum hardware for decent speeds
The Dreamcast BIOS is required for this emulator to work. Put it on /sdcard/dc/data/dc_boot.bin. The Dreamcast flash should be on /sdcard/dc/data/dc_flash.bin. You should dump these files from your Dreamcast, Google has many tutorials on how to. if the dc or data folders are missing, create them.
In order to save your game-play progress you will first need to format the memory cards. In order to do this you need to start the program, select the "boot bios" option, go to the "file" option, select the memory cards and then select the "delete all" option.

Great, this is something that I wanted to see on android, speed seems decent.
I've read about it on the web and installed ASAP.
Currently I've only tried MVC2 that runs silky smooth (yey!)
Anyone tried sixaxis support?
San Fransisco Rush 2049, not bad for Alpha. Really want to try my game collection.

Yes it runs excellently, I was surprised. I havent tried sixaxis yet but wouldnt this emu need input support for that like other emu's?
Not sure if intended but works flawlessly with my PS3 controller using Sixaxis app
All I need to know now is how to save (maybe i can use my old demul daves?)
Exellent emu!!!
Already granted 5 stars on Play
Games recommendations?

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Shenmu
Resident Evil
Ran fine with Vigilante 8 2nd Offense, however, crashes when i try to select Palomino XII on Quest mode.
Sound is more or less working, with small delays.
Framerate is awesome. No lag or stuff.
I have tested it on a Nexus 4.
It also doesnt load saves (The emulation stops).
Runs fine, with minor graphical glitches.
Saves games too if you follow the instructions.
I'm having trouble using the controls tho, especially in sonic adventure 2. It's almost unplayable because the on screen controls suck so bad.
Will this work with a game controller? I'd consider buying one if it did, since this app is like having a dreamcast in your pocket.

I can't find where to put the bios files in (I don't even know if I put the correct ones in, can someone link me to the right ones?), I made the folder myself but that didn't work.

Yes I also had this issue as well. The bios file I used did not contain boot.bios. I had to rename one of the two bios files to get it working.
It was easy to guess which one needed to be renamed.

Well it wasn't perfectly clear in OP. You should put that bit that you have to rename the bios file to boot. Not complaining though, after some research, I found it out. Amazing work man, hopefully the graphical woes on Shenmue will be fixed soon! Rating it 5/5 on the Play Store regardless. :good:
