A few days ago, I installed the JellyBean 4.1.2 OTA upgrade and then right after that, the 28MB software patch(OTA). Both went very smoothly. After running the patch, I noticed the 4x3 Media Hub and Music Hub widgets were gone from the right half of the default main screen and also they're missing from the pallet of available widgets. They're still installed but no 4x3 widgets. (There's a 8x6 Media Hub widget but I'm not sure if that's new)
I still see the 4x3 Gaming Hub widget in the lower left of the main screen below the weather widget. All apps(Samsung and Google) are up to date(OTA). The Media Hub and Music Hub just got updated but the Gaming Hub didn't get an update. Maybe that has something to do with it? When uninstalled the updates of these two apps to their original version, the 4x3 Music Hub widget becomes available again, but not the 4x3 Media Hub widget.
Not really worrying that the Samsung Hub widgets are missing, but I'm wondering WHY this happened and if this is an indication of any other issues or bad installations. My GTN8013 was never rooted.

The widgets changing had nothing to do with the recent 28MB March 18th software update.
Updating the latest Media Hub version, 1.7.0(MA0B, 864125) which is now "Media Hub Samsung ICS & JB", changed the widget from 4x3 to 8x6. And the latest Music Hub version, 31.2013.01.14.18, actually removed the 4x3 widget completely.
Can anyone confirm this? Sorry for the lame concern. Thanks.

You think there is anyway now with froyo coming out, and it being faster and all (even thought it would be a battery drain maybe..) to have a youtube video widget? Being able to watch a video from youtube on your homescreen?
Example: Your searching for a video on youtube and start watching it, you get a text or just want to get to your homescreen and instead of it stopping you can continue to play/see it on your homescreen as a widget.
Is this even possible?
I doubt it...I don't think Android widgets (At least on the stock homescreen) allow such actions to exist...we are still waiting on stock scrolling widgets (which would be awesome)
I have done some searching but couldn't really find anything suitable, however if anyone knows of this widget already that would be awesome.
Let me explain: I use widgets to control my media but with four different apps (cubed, last FM, spotify, doggcatcher) the homescreen is rather messy. Would it be possible to make a widget which would control all the media apps on a phone? You would have a button to switch media player and then the usual, play/skip buttons. If anyone is interested in this I would be happy to sponsor them to make it.
About a week ago I installed the MusicFX app that added some cool music settings that I could access in the music player. This was when I was on the Gingerbread leak with Blur. When I went into the settings it gave me options such as "Ambient", "Live Performance", and "Surround" for the 3D audio effect and the only equalizer setting I can remember was called "Bass Punch". It did not have sliders for the bass or the 3D effect.
I then installed the APEX 2.0 beta on the phone. I no longer had access to those presets mentioned above. Only the general equalizer settings and the sliders shown in screenshots for the MusicFX app. Before I remove APEX and going back to rooted Blur on Gingerbread, I'm wondering if I missed something. I've tried installing earlier versions of the MusicFX app as well as other music players to see if that's what I was using before. I've also tried searching for information on that music settings screen with no luck.
Has anyone else seen the menu I'm talking about? Any ideas on what combination of apps, roms, versions I would need to get it back? Any and all input would be great. Thanks ahead of time.
I think the MusicFX plugin only works with music players that have decided to integrate the new features.
I know that the Google Music 3.0 player in the market works with the plugin, but I'm not sure of others.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I know that, and it does work. I have access to the sliders in the menu.
However, the MusicFX screen was different before I put APEX on my DX. I've tried everything I can think of to get the "old" menu back as I don't like messing with sliders.
Maybe this will help:
Before putting APEX beta on, this menu was on the android music app. Then I downloaded the Google Music app beta from the market. The Music Beta had the sliders showing when I accessed the MusicFX screen. As I stated before, I prefer the preset options so I uninstalled the Music beta and went back to the stock player. The "old" style menu was there in the stock player.
I haven't installed the Google Music Beta (I have no reason to yet). As far as I can tell, the switch to APEX either replaced the stock music app, or I really wasn't using the stock one before.
Hi.
I tried using ADW Launcher EX. I like it, runs smooth, but i have 1 issue.
When i use it, i cant add 2 of the built-in Xperia-Play widgets. I cant choose "Music player" (the stock player widget), and i cant choose "Photo and Videos" (the widget with the scrollable Pics & Videopreviews).
Is there a way to enable these 2 widgets when using ADW Launcher EX?
Thanks
I know that the music player widget only works with the SE launcher.
Hm, that sucks...i like that widget.
Are there maybe some apps/widgets that do the same and look the same as my 2 missing widgets?
Well not sure about same look but PowerAMP is the best music player, its not free though but well worth the money. If you dont have a market account you can buy direct from PowerAmp website https://market.android.com/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer&feature=search_result You can also download a widget plugin for it.
For free ones i dont really know since i use poweramp but try these; ?
Meridian Media Player Autonomy
Winamp
MixZing
Not sure if they are any good but it seems they support widgets. Dont know about a gallery widget replacment since i dont even use the stock one lol
They look nice, but i miss one tiny little thing. The stock Music-Widget shows the title-length, and a status-bar.
I'm also on ADWLauncher EX and purchased PowerAMP and IMO I like it more than the stock SE widget anyways. In the next version of PowerAMP, you'll be able to use custom made skins for it and I can't wait for that!
Did anybody find a replacement for the Photo and Video widget? I really love to scroll through my pictures and videos on my screen so I don't have to open the Gallery. anybody any ideas?
I love the stock SE animated Weather widgets
It's the only reason I use the Stock launcher since the SE apps won't work on any others
Hi everybody!
I've created 2 Material design Widgets for my personal use. Now i like them too much as to not publish them on play store. But as there are many different music players and devices on which widgets look completely different I'm hoping for your support.
The two widgets are:
Music Widget
Today's Agenda Widget
Common features:
Widget colours derived from Wallpaper and album art
Music widget features:
Semi-intelligent and manual Player switching
Fully supported players: Samsung stock music player, Spotify, Yatse (Kodi remote)
Spotify album art downloading, option to only allow on wifi
Supported but untested players: Stock players of HTC, SONY, MIUI, CM (APOLLO), Rdio, LastFM, Amazon, Winamp
Agenda widget features
Show today's events in selected calendars
calendar coloured label
buttons for creating events and opening calendar
option to hide all-day events
select calendars
Please let me know, if the widgets look strange on your phone/launcher, something misbehaves, crashes and or your favorite music player is not supported (yet)
Thanks for testing, I hope you like the widgets as much as I do!
PS: The weather widget in the screenshot is NOT part of the app, it's from bergfex, a german/austrian weather app.
Feel free to contact me if you like/dislike the widgets or if you have Feature requests/ideas. Thanks for testing!
