I've created 2 Material design Widgets for my personal use. Now i like them too much as to not publish them on play store. But as there are many different music players and devices on which widgets look completely different I'm hoping for your support.
The two widgets are:

Today's Agenda Widget
Common features:
Widget colours derived from Wallpaper and album art
Music widget features:
Semi-intelligent and manual Player switching
Fully supported players: Samsung stock music player, Spotify, Yatse (Kodi remote)
Spotify album art downloading, option to only allow on wifi
Supported but untested players: Stock players of HTC, SONY, MIUI, CM (APOLLO), Rdio, LastFM, Amazon, Winamp
Agenda widget features
Show today's events in selected calendars
calendar coloured label
buttons for creating events and opening calendar
option to hide all-day events
select calendars
Please let me know, if the widgets look strange on your phone/launcher, something misbehaves, crashes and or your favorite music player is not supported (yet)

PS: The weather widget in the screenshot is NOT part of the app, it's from bergfex, a german/austrian weather app.

Im currently using tunewiki for my 4x1 widget (nice and compact and shows the album art and track info) and was wondering if theres any out there that look nicer.
Ive seen a few other that were very dull and then others that were nice like mixzing but I like their 4x4 widget not so much the smaller one.

What are the best media playing apps, of any variety and quickly why? If there isn't a good one that does both, list individual ones for video and music!

It does music and video, and has a great interface and lockscreen controls. Check it out in the market.
Mixzing Media Player is by far the best I've tried

The free version has way more features than some of the paid version media player apps out there, in fact I don't even know what they include in the paid version considering the free version kicks enough ass. I don't even use the Equalizer that comes with it but the sound is still amazing.
So, as some already know, I did a mod of the old Android music player, the small one - but this was "fake" holo and there were some glitches, so I did it anew. Real Holo design, smarter and all layout bugs removed (hopefully).
You may install this app normally. Eventually this does not work if you have Google Music installed - then you must delete Google Music.
This player is provided "as is": no further language support than english, no Google Music API (because there isn't any official) and no folder support.
If somebody knows, how to find the broadcast intent for the lock screen widget in the smali's, please leave an answer. At this time the lock screen shows "Track - Album", this is standard Android behaviour, but I'd rather like to have "Track - Artist" - haven't found it in hours unfortunately.

Whenever I am playing music on the Google Play Music app, it places a widget on my lockscreen to control the music. Many people see this as a useful feature for many good reasons; I personally do not. I am more than happy controlling the music via my default lockscreen widget and notification tray; I feel that this widget adds nothing of value to me, and instead obscures my default lockscreen. (Again, I'm not bashing the widget--it is simply not for me.)
So far, I have been unable to find any option to completely disable this lockscreen widget. It cannot be longpressed and deleted, and it is not listed in the Widgets. Basically, if I'm not playing any music, my phone pretends that it doesn't exist; and if I am playing music, the widget will replace my lockscreen without question or permission.
Is there any app setting, system setting, custom apk, xposed module, root hack, kernel hack, etc. that will keep my lockscreen intact as I play music? I want to play music from Google Play and see my default lockscreen widget when I turn on my phone. How can I achieve this?

Meet Music Player v0.1 with powerful FX and infinite themes. Please tell me what do you think about the app and tell me what can be improved or added. There are endless possibilities and I will try to add more features before v1.0 release. Also, I have not supported this app to many Samsung devices (S6+ are supported) and Huawei devices.

I could test the app on a few devices, and tried to eliminate bugs. If you see any bugs, please comment. Please help the app grow. This took 8 months straight to develop this app.

Thanks for your words
Notification widget is removed when you close the app from "recent apps" drawer. Also, I am in the works of making the notification bar flexible. Like, when the song is playing, user can not swipe notification and when it's not; User can swipe and close the notification. This will be added soon in upcoming updated...
And Homescreen widget will also be added but not in near future. Depends on the app's fate. And app's fate depends on its installs and user's positive reviews
