I finally rooted like 2 days ago & disabled att market blocks, will I have to unroot & enable before I do the upgrade tomorrow? Please tell me I don't have to.

Yup
Affirmative
So is that a yes I have to unroot or yes I'll be fine tomorrow?

coooooooooool finally.
unrooting is prob necessary. just flash back to stock and the update should be available.
Should I undo the market blocker too & remove the blocked apps?

I was wondering the same lol. I rooted and flashed to Firefly a few weeks ago. I'm tempted to try this just for fun, then prob flash later to the newer Firefly... So just to confirm, using Odin to go back to stock should allow us to get the bloated AT&T update if we wish?
Should I try an ota update before I unroot or will that get me fired?

I just flashed cognition 4 this morning, and unless i hear crazy good things about att froyo, i'm not going back.
It took them this long to get it to us....its pitiful.
Just putting it out there...here's the tweet:
GalaxySsupport: Samsung and AT&T are pleased to confirm to #Captivate users that the Android 2.2 upgrade will be available tomorrow (2/24)

You WILL need to unroot before you can OTA. We ran into this issue when JH7 came out. If you have root, no OTA. It's even in question if you have flashed a custom ROM/revert back to JF6 stock, whether or not you can OTA. Personally I was never successful at get OTA to update JH7.

Just out of curiosity, why would you even want to go back to stock, after running FireFly?
When the OTA for JH7 came out I was not able to update after I flashed back to JF6 using Odin. It would error out
I had no problem with the jh7 ova update so long ago. I haven't flashed anything yet, just rooted. I checked for updates while rooted & it just said no updates yet. I won't ruin anything if I just try it will I?

I flashed leaked UCKB1 (w/lag fix and a few other tools) because I wanted Media Hub to work (I travel frequently and like being able to easily DL and watch movies on my phone). The Media Hub .apk does not seem to work on any of the other ROMs. It appears Samsung included some sort of DRM support in this ROM that allows Media Hub to function properly.
I'll happily flash something elese when the devs release a compelling ROM based on UCKB1.

Media Hub works fine on Andromeda 1.2.
I'm hoping for the usb audio they promised back when I bought my desk dock. Oh yeah, and the voice dialing they promised when I bought the phone. And of course, the support for the audience chip. I'm sure these will all make their want into the custom roms once they chefs get their hands on the source.
Credit for the APK Extract goes to Chinle43. I've tested it on stock GB 2.3.3 Galaxy Tab ROM over WiFi that is found on this thread:

It works fine, but is a little grainy.
I have not tested it on Froyo. GB only unless someone else with a stock SGT says otherwise.

Interesting. So I wonder if GB has some sort of DRM in it that Netflix likes.

Over on the Nook side of XDA, it was found that by editing the build.prop file, you can fake Netflix into think it's one of the supported devices.

I'm trying to figure out a way using ODIN to where I can update my stock ATT unlocked captivate to Tmobile Vibrant Froyo. I've read that there is a fix for the wifi calling
Am I able to jump from 2.1 to Tmobiles Vibrant Froyo using ODIN?
If so, how to do?

IIRC, packages for stock Froyo harken from the age where bootloaders were cooked into everything. Flashing incorrect bootloaders is asking for trouble.
Plus, just flash some other ROM for WiFi calling.
I'm having troubles using kies to upgrade to 2.2 froyo. Spoke with tech support and live chat so many times. Followed instructions but still couldn't get it to update.
I'm on T-mobile and really need the wifi calling feature. I thought maybe I'd be able to install T-mobiles version of 2.2 froyo from their Samsung Vibrant on my unlocked Captivate.
Please instruct me on what I should do first? Or is there is a better solution, please advise.
I really like the Captivate and would like to get it to go!
Thanks,

Not 100% true because you can now get bootloader free stock flash packages on this forum.....
But generally, I think this OP is looking at a bad idea.......What to you mean WiFi calling? If you want VoIP, then there are captivate ROMs that are worth looking at that have this feature turned back on.
Good luck !
Try installing the the Kineto.apk. I removed it from my Tmobile Optimus as I am a prepaid user and have no use of it. I replace it with google voice (free outgoing call via Wifi).
If you need the apk file, let me know. It may or may not work.

I purchaed an SGH-I727 on craigslist in June. (in contract and waiting for SGS3 meanwhile - contract up in Sept.) Phone came installed with ICS 4.0.3. Baseband Version I727UCALC4. The phone has been flawless and moving from BB to Android is the best move I've EVER made.
Rooted the phone using CWM. 5.0.2.6. Superuser 3.0.7. Titanium Backup Pro to save it all. No other ROM's or kernels installed. Aside from the rooting, the phone is stock.
I have had a few hiccups with the phone, especially where SMS is concerned. When deleting a thread the phone will go dark, including the soft keys at the bottom (except for the top info bar- 4G, Batt%, time) and return to the home page with the message "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped." Hit "OK" and the phone is back on the home page. SMS thread is deleted and the phone is fine again.
I got the notice that there was an update for the SGS2 Skyrocket via Kies on Samsung's website. Downloaded Kies ver 2.3.2.12064_9_7. Installed and rebooted windows 7.
Connected the phone, and went to update it and got the following message---
YOUR DEVICE DOES NOT SUPPORT SOFTWARE UPGRADING VIA KIES
CURRENT FIRMWARE VERSION: PDA:LC4 / PHONE:LC4 / CSC:LC4 (ATT)
I tried another method via XDA video thread whereby you put the phone into download mode and do the following: tools> Firmware Upgrade and Initialization.
I get the window to input the SN and the model #, but Kies doesn't recognize the model # and kicks me out only to want to start over.
The official Samsung Site states the following:
1.From any home screen touch Menu > Settings > About Phone.
2.Scroll to the bottom and look for Baseband Version. It should be I727UCKK1, I727UCKJ2 or I727UCLA3 before updating. It will be I727UCLF6 after the update.
My phone is already at I727UCALC4, and I'm guessing since it's not one of the afore mentioned Baseband Versions, it's a NO GO!
I wanted to update the phone to I727UCLF6 and start over hoping it would fix my SMS issue and not give me any additional problems after a new rooting.
Any suggestions?

Yes, consider yourself lucky you didn't upgrade to the official ICS. It's beyond crap. I went from stock 2.3.6 to stock ICS... Wow, really, really bad. Went from a pretty darn good phone to something verging on unusable. Worse, apparently there is no road back to stock 2.3.6 Problems? Bluetooth sucks, caller ID sucks, contacts sucks... etc, etc... Stay well clear of stock ICS.

This is total opposite from my experience. Never had a problem with bluetooth on any rom. I connect to 3 devices on a regular basis with zero hassle. Caller ID and contacts work the same. Not sure how Caller ID can suck as it always works and really doesn't have much to do with the rom.
There's an easy way to go back to 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 through Odin or CWM. Just download it right here. Yes, you can get back to untouched stock 2.3.6.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548750
I think you are spreading some misleading info against ICS without doing adequate searches or troubleshooting. It almost sounds like your phone is malfunctioning, or your ICS upgrade did not take cleanly.

Just follow these steps. I know it works because it is what I did:

The Model number is SGH-i727
Serial number, look at the one posted behind your battery, not the one on the box.
Even though not stated, if you do these steps with some leaks like UCLF5, it does not wipe your device when you get upgraded to UCLF6.
Hi guys, and thanks for pointing me towards a 2.3.6 path!!!! I've been searching and the only information I could find until this is that 2.3.5 was available, but not .6. On other "official ICS" complaint threads, people are specifically saying that there is no path back to 2.3.6 except through custom roms.
I have no experience with the custom ICS roms on this phone, so I'm not saying anything against them at all. However, there are a lot of people VERY unhappy with the official Rom, so I don't think it's me. Problems? BT drops all the time. The phone drops calls all the time. The task bar dimmer is inop. Caller ID does not work if you're in the AT&T contact app. If a call comes through while you're in it, it is impossible to see who's calling except by answering the phone. (It won't let you leave the app while an incoming call is ringing.) Lots of apps work for sh*&% with it. etc, etc. To be honest, I was completely happy with 2.3.6 except for the occasional--once every few days or so--BT drop. I figured they'd fix that in the official ICS upgrade, so I upgraded immediately. Big mistake. I know there are probably some great custom roms out there, but 2.3.6 worked so well for me--and stability is my primary concern--that I really just want to go back to 2.3.6 and stay there. I've done the custom rom thing with my old WM phones, but seriously, stock 2.3.6 is close to perfect for me.
Thanks again!!!

Hi,
Does anyone have mobile data working on a 4.4 rom with an i815 Verizon?
Seems I've seen some conflicting reports in some of the other threads.
I've tried a couple of the 4.4 roms and their absolutely awesome but mobile data doesn't work for me.
When I select mobile plan in settings it tells me to insert a sim card and reboot.
Thanks in advance!

I just sent Daniel_HK - the porter of all the 4.4 roms for the sch i815 "as far as i know" - a Verizon sch i815 tablet just for this purpose.
He just got it the other day and of course he has his own life to live. But with that said he seems to always come through. Give him a bit of time and even a donation if you can.
Since he has received the tab he has already fixed the twrp 2.7 for our tabs and supplied me with the data to forward to mobile odin developers to hopefully get our tab supported there.
