i815 mobile data on 4.4? - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anyone have mobile data working on a 4.4 rom with an i815 Verizon?
Seems I've seen some conflicting reports in some of the other threads.
I've tried a couple of the 4.4 roms and their absolutely awesome but mobile data doesn't work for me.
When I select mobile plan in settings it tells me to insert a sim card and reboot.
Thanks in advance!

I just sent Daniel_HK - the porter of all the 4.4 roms for the sch i815 "as far as i know" - a Verizon sch i815 tablet just for this purpose.
He just got it the other day and of course he has his own life to live. But with that said he seems to always come through. Give him a bit of time and even a donation if you can.
Since he has received the tab he has already fixed the twrp 2.7 for our tabs and supplied me with the data to forward to mobile odin developers to hopefully get our tab supported there.

i have no data on my i815 with 4.4 and my tablet eat battery. I install battery stat plus app and discover that 'cell standby' process is eat battery and have '100% time without signal. But on 4.2.2 all is ok. So 4.4 right now is useless on i815

Data is working
IT WORKS ON THIS 4.4.4 ROM - AWESOME

You will need to get gapps for 4.2 with this.
Also you can visit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-7-7/help/android-7-7-doesnt-t2852050
I put a lot of work setting the rom up to run at its best - well at least to me that is.
Nova Launcher
adfree
adblock
wifi reset
a number of great apps and features
its daniel_hk 's rom just modified a bit.
make sure you read the instructions for it is not a zip install but a restore in a zip that needs to be unzipped first.

Cricket Galaxy S3 Discussion Thread

Just wanted to start up the discussion thread for the Cricket Galaxy S3 model SCH-R530C. We share models with the USCC version, but the data doesnt work correctly when a USCC build is flashed.
Heres a write-up on how to root the Cricket GS3:

LET THE BUILDS BEGIN...please.
This goes in "android development" not a verizon Galaxy S3 side of a forum

Actually. The cricket GS3 is basically the USCC GS3 with a different modem. So, they're very similar. Exactly why its in this forum.

Have everything working but the camera and MMS it looks like. I'm not a dev by far so someone who knows what they're doing can do this right I'm sure.
NANDROID BACKUP!
My cousin got the cricket s3, ive been helping him out, getting rooted and cwm, now just need a real ROM. I cant seem to find any dedicated places for this phone specifically, there doesnt seem to be much dev work on it either, or am i wrong?

There isn't much work on US Cellular and MetroPCS so you can expect the same for Cricket. ShabbyPenguin is being a gentleman and devoting some time. He's already started to post on CricketUsers.
I got everything working minus MMS and camera with CM10. I think others can figure out the rest.
Yep, wondering myself if a JB TW STOCK ROM can be put on here.
I have the S3 on VZW and Stock w/ Root w/ Touch CWM. The only issue is since this is ICS and not JB yet, NFC doesn't work. (unless its just not working) Says something about it can't handle the file size in transfer.
We got it with a rebate for $330 what about you?

Stock NFC can only handle small transfers like a contact card. S-Beam will allow you to transfers photos and video but of course this will only work between Samsung devices.

Stock NFC as in ICS? Whats different than ICS NFC and JB NFC? Because I can transfer anything else with my phone. Like normal 8mp images between other JB S3's and Note 2 with JB.
Is JB NFC updated or advanced?
EDIT: NVM dont know why NFC worked before without sbeam, turned on sbeam a second ago and even transferred a video.
In case people in this thread didn't know noobl did a good bit of work and got the camera working.

1) is this thread for vzw flash to cricket, or cricket s3? Found in verizon forums, part but title slightly confusing.
2)if so, anyone point me to the place for a patch/method for getting the data connection off Verizon? Flashed with talk n txt, and 3G, but still getting verizon data network instead of cricket or sprint. Has to be something I have over looked. TUI

I would guess because XDa doesn't support less popular carriers. Therefore people place the threads in the models which share the most similarities.

[Q] KitKat

Hi
I just installed KitKat using TWRP BigPart and the Omni XXXStingray ROM. It took a little bit of time to understand the process, re-install the apps and get it back up to speed. Now it is working really, really well. My questions is: How to I prevent Motorola from pushing an "software upgrade"? For the time being I want to keep it just the way it is.
Thanks for any help.
John
you don't have to do anything, there aren't any updates, there won't be any and it's not connected to motorolas servers
Great, One less thing to worry about.
When they updated to JB they just pushed it over WiFi (stingray with no sim card, but I did register with Motorola). I am not sure they even gave the option of opt'ing out. I wanted to make sure that would not happen again now that KitKat is working so well.
Thanks
John

Being as this isn't an official rom, and that KitKat is a more recent build than Jelly Bean, you're safe. Moto has discontinued official development on all Zooms, so no worries.

[Q] Shield Tablet will not update to Lollipop, any ideas?

I have the 32Gb LTE version with an AT&T Sim installed (5gb data plan), Wifi on as well.
I was at the latest KitKat update and noticed that lollipop had been released a few days ago. Every time I goto about tablet / system updates it says its up to date, but still on version 4.4.2. Bought the tablet new from Newegg when it came out. Never had any problems with updates, even using TowelRoot in between updates.
I have reset back to factory and still am not having any luck getting an OTA update, No error messages it just returns with an already up to date message. Any ideas?
Download it and flash it manually.

Same here and mine says I'm up to date. hmm.
After looking around .. it seems that AT&T hasn't "approved" the LTE version and since the damn thing ships with an AT&T sim card ... yeah .. doesn't matter that it works with TMO (which I'm using) ... we're not getting it for a bit for the 32GB LTE version.

The link that was posted above does indeed work with AT&T and i'm getting impressive LTE transfer rates. Only had Lollipop installed for 45 minuets but I have not seen any issues with it. Much faster than Jelly bean.

Yep. It's working well on mine as well and I'm getting 40mb/13mb on TMO's LTE. Really nice. I just forgot that I'd rooted mine with a GUI tool instead of the normal way so my bootloader was still locked ... when all was said and done ... fresh start.
Ah well .. a quite Titanium restore and I was back in black.

5.0 Lollipop

Any Developers or people who's working or done with the lollipop 5.0 rom for infuse? I just want to experience the new material design.
They have said once beanstalk is ported they'd give it a go.

I'm working on it, could be interesting if we can use this kernel on our device
https://github.com/hak86/android_kernel_samsung_aries
since infuse has 2.6 kernel and required a lot of changes to make lollipop
I am unsure about specs but you might visit the Samsung Galaxy player 4.0 and 5.0 forums, they are at least same gen devices and I saw lollipop is built on it.

Any progess?
Is there any progress on Lollipop for the Infuse? Still using mine. Thanks.
Lollipop is a ram eater. I tried it on the razrm and it didn't go well. Wound up reverting to kitkat. I'm sorry but at some point even if you can, you shouldn't and I think all devs are realizing this.

I think people should just run the latest that's available, or get a new phone. A Moto E is 3 times the phone the Infuse is, and can be had for $30 if you buy it at the right time. Plus it runs Lollipop out of the box. Methinks trying to run 5.0 on a 4 yr old device is near impossible.

Hell i haven't seriously used my Infuse in over 2 years, i just like to see just how much it can handle, I was a bit surprised when it took KK. Now just waiting to see if it can handle Lollipop.

[G935U] Official Stock Nougat Odin Files

After so long of waiting things are looking up for the U version of Nougat.
I've been hawking these Samsung forums for a while where everyone is waiting for Nougat on the G935U and there were people on Samsung's staff who have been trying to get it for months now. Anyways, today people are finally reporting getting the Nougat update on their unlocked S7 Edges.

using unlocked version , so no idea about this
Flashed this 3 days ago-- Battery life is incredible and it's VERY fast.
*Native hotspot works
*Haven't tried video calling yet, so can't confirm
*HD calling works
*No extra icons in the status bar (ie. VoLTE, etc)
I tried flashing the engineering bootloader to try rooting, but it caused a bootloop. I'm going to try again after a clean wipe.

I kinda wish this was available for the non edge version but I guess I'm just gonna have to wait
How did you activate HD calling? Also is this still able to use Wi-Fi calling or does anyone know of an app that will enable that feature?
I noticed that I can't talk on the phone and use LTE data at the same time...i wanted the firmware for lack of bloat and the stock device manager that verizon took away...i can live without wifi calling but is there a setting I'm missing to activate talking on the phone and simultaneous use of data?
who is know the nougat u frim for flat download adress? i'm look for so long time:crying:
why flat firmware didn't publish with edge at same time? i am always wait it.

does verizon VOLTE (advanced calling) work on the U rom? I just got a G935A phone and want to flash U (or V) variant for my Verizon sim.
I wanted to mention I flashed onto 935V today, working great. Seems snappier. I need to pop another sim though and confirm if LTE works or not. I wonder if this unlocks the other channels (Basebands) If it does, then we have a real way of "unlocking" 935V to use with other carriers or roam.
I'm now on Verizon Nougat. Can I flash directly to G935U with this file? From other sources it seems we have to flash to 6.0 first and then this one to 7.0.
