My touch pro is looking a bit old hat now...
Really?? But if you didn't need a keyboard why didn't you get the diamond (then you could be upset )
I still love the keyboard on my TP
But if they make a 1700mhz flavor for Tmo US 3G, I'll be all over that in an instant.
nah...rafael owners will cry when the HD pro comes out...but this one has no keyboard...so it's not really comparable
I on the other hand....am still waiting for the Touch Pro to be available here in the philippines...and then the HD comes out...sheesh.
No keyboard. No go.

Well they keyboard is a very nice iece of kit (and it's why I got the tP over the diamond, that and the SAR rating) but a bigger, higher resolution screen, 5mp camera and an updated TFlo 3D does look mighty fine...
And only a 1350mAH battery - pretty small given the screen size.....
The thing is, the way the keyboard is programmed - takes away a lot of the advantage (for me) to having a hardware keyboard. All of the keys register the same in outside programs. So the keyboard is currently useless for emulation and games.
Does anyone know if the Touch HD has TV Out like the Raphael? That could be another important distinction.
Looks like the sites down
But im in the same pickle...
HD or TP Big screen or keyboard.

Nothing on that link. I have heard about the HD and would love to come back to Winmo from iPhone but I need 3G or HSPA on ATT. Will probably go with the Touch Pro until the HD comes available on ATT (if ever)
Very happy with my TP with the hardware, size and keyboard, unless they come up with another ground breaking innovation
I don't see why the HD is "over" Pro in some way (except the screen res. which I am not sure it is good or bad and the camera resolution which I don't really care too much).
no TV out?
Spec seems pretty light at the moment - I suspect more detail will be added in the comming days, weeks...... We may see some other "items" added to the list? Theres a basic review here too: http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-devices/news/2008/09/11/HTC-Touch-HD--The-True-iPhone-Rival-/p1 Looks pretty cool but it depends on what you beed?
I personally am fortunate to have both the Diamond and Pro - I added the pro to my collection after finding that it was a little extra memory and the MicroSD card slot that I missed - not the keyboard at all - I do love the Pro though and the "gadgets too" - the TV cable is great - I travel a lot with work and now use the Pro to watch movies on the Hotel room TV - thats pretty cool - and last week I gave a Power point presentation using the Pro on a standard projector - very cool indeed.....
So - I'll probably get a HD when they come along and we'll see which one I stick with - at the moment - the Pro's my main man....!
.
13mm bigger
I see there 2 other models as well.
Still happy with the Pro great Business Tool which is more important to me.
The HD has this iphone feel about?
Will the Diamond/Touch Pros will get the Touchflo 3D enchancements from the Touch HD and Touch 3Gs/Viva?
There is a stocks tab in the HD and all the new Touchs have the 4 day weather right on the screen.

I second that! No tv out?
They would better go off by some hardware video decoder not only with bigger screen resolution. Hi-res devices really need such to fully enjoy movies on them.

It's just some scripts and png files as part of Manila. They're already being dissected over on the Diamond forum (there's a custom Calendar and Calc tab), so no doubt once the HD version comes out it will be ported to Diamond/Pro. Of course the HD benefits from the WVGA to fit more info on screen.
Of course, HTC might release ROM updates that include the new interface as well.
IIRC the bootloader and whatnot is locked, and ICS might not come for a while (if ever), but the overall design/feel of it is nice, and I really like the optional media dock for it (it'd be nice to use it as a clock-radio on my nightstand). I understand it's not the lightest or best-spec'd or anything like that, I'm just wondering if there's any major flaws/disadvantages to it, like horrible battery life. Camera quality isn't too important, especially since there's two of them for 3D pics. And the Tegra 2 should be enough power for me, as the most powerful use I'd expect would be high-res videos?
One concern I have is app compatibility - 1280x768 isn't really popular (it's either 1280x720 or 1280x800 usually).
Suggestions for tablets with similar (worthwhile) docks would be appreciated. I know the Galaxy Tabs all basically have one available, but I'm not a fan of the proprietary connector.
hi.
I'm searching for a new phone to replace my nearly dead Atrix. I was looking at the new Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, but after reading some reviews I've concluded that its a real ****.
What I am looking?
A 4 - 4.3 inch phone that fits in my pocket and doesn't look like I have a 32 inch TV on my ear.
Exterior :
Discrete, good design, a good looking and durable phone. (I like to use them, I don't treat them quite well)
Performance :
A fast and powerful phone, one that can play mkv 720p videos without issues and run Android JB smoothly
Battery life its important too
Camera:
5 to 8 inch would be fine. 720p video recording or better
Price
not a problem.
Please , what do you recommend and why?
Thanks!
Hey guys,
Bit of a weird post, as I am not sure what the answer will be.
I want a new mobile. I've had iPhones since the first one, and currently have a '5. I am totally sick of the OS - the list of icons is shiiite. Even now I'm back to being jailbroken and tweaked it's still dull as dishwater, and now feels fragile to (as all JB'd phones do).
So; mighty phone quest 2013. It started just before christmas, and is still going. So far I have bought, tried and returned (or sold):
Nexus 4 (nice enough I guess, bad at games compared to the iPhone, do like raw android)
Samsung GS3 (hate the plastic, hate the blue-tinted screen, no better than N4 at anything else)
HTC One (silver) (badly put together, gets hot when used, terrible camera, still worse than iP5 at games, especially 3d ones)
HTC One (black) (better then the silver, build-wise, but same everyhting else)
And tried briefly in store, but not bought:
Xperia Z (Felt a bit light and plasticy? Unsure about Android updates in the future?)
I need a phone for (in order):
Email
Twitter
Web
Camera
Texting
Facebook
Apps (Addicted to buying apps!)
Games
Phoning
Music
Video
So, what should I get? I did have an S4 on pre-order, but I cancelled it today because I just don't think I can live with the plastic-ness.
Any tips on which android phone to go for would be ace.
If for low cash only 3 phones: Nexus 4, Nexus 4 or Nexus 4
With good kernel and rom that phone is faster than S3 in games/UI and it not have overheating.

Cash isn't really a problem.
Nexus 4 is nice, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped. What Rom/Kernel would you recommend?
I dont have it (my brother have) but most kernels are good like Franco kernel . Overhating is now not a problem and phone is realy faaaaaaaast
Low cash: Nexus 4
A lot of cash: S4 (Octa) or next Nexus, iPhone.

You kind of eliminated most new top spec handsets yourself. Apart from the Galaxy s4, which you will not like as yet again it's plastic. You want the best of everything in one phone which sadly you're not going to find.
I have the Galaxy s3 running siyah kernel with foxhound rom and i think its brilliant. Great all around.

Ha ha, indeed.
I think I may try the S4 anyway. Perhaps I'll get used to the polycarb?
Among all these smartphones, I want to suggest you Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. It has a 12 megapixel camera giving you autofocus and LED flash. With features like geo-tagging, touch-focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, you can capture every moment with ease. It is powered by the latest NFC technology and the operating system is the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. You will find the gaming experience is bound to be awesome. This Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone is also packed with a secondary camera of 1.3 megapixel along with the facility of video recording.

What? Almost none of that sounds like the S3 that I know of and which he has already owned.
As for the O/P, the HTC DNA is not cheaply built and has respectable specs.
Did you own the HTC One S/V/X or the "One", because that seems like the phone that would fit your scenario the best.

Hi all!
I've had many android phones but this is my first tablet. I'm trying to find a good background using the standard wallpaper apps on play store but they all look like crap on this giant screen! Any advice? Do I need to use an app specifically for tablets or do I need to somehow modify the wallapaper?
Also just out of curiosity can someone please explain to me why this is? If my tablet as similar ppi why does a wallapaper made for a phone look so bad on a larger screen? I'm know there's an obvious answer but I'm not that savey with hardware and am trying to wrap my head around it
Thanks!

Main reason is resolution only thing close to this resolution wise is the LG g3 at 2560x1440.
Some nice wallpapers here. 2560 x 1600, 2880 X 1800 and UHD 4K at a crisp 3840 X 2160 resolution.

Here are some wallpapers at an amazing UHD 8K of 7680 X 4320. Hope you can find a suitable image.

ppi density (pixels per inch) is not the same as the actual image dimensions. You need at least 2560x1600. Higher is better.
As for good wallpapers, moving ones are much more fun. Personally I'm using this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dualboot.apps.forest
