Hy all,
Everyone knows the GS4 is a very high tec. device but is it still worth it without CM10 ?

Let's hope so. Because lots of XDA members are considering upgrading to the S4 only if it has a good developer support.
But like it says in the link, we can't know for sure until it's released. Maybe an answer around mid may *crossed fingers*

Seems like Samsung's really starting to flex their muscles with their sources now. What a shame. This one still does what all Android phones should be doing... having an SD card slot & a removable battery. Let's see what happens in time.

There is no point of this thread as cm team said THEY DO NOT PRE ANNOUNCE SUPPORT FOR ANY CELL IN THEIR GOOGLE + circle
So saying SS has flexed their muscle, creating unfriendly "environment" phones for devs. CM team quit due to the hardship will lead to many xda devs not support the phone. Now imagine that all mfg. such Sony, HTC, Motorola, ..... all flex their muscle ........................ then all of you will jump to iPhone?

Hey guys as many of us are aware, us relying on carriers and handset manufacturers to release os updates is almost pointless. There are many other devices that are ics capable yet won't be upgraded do to carriers and phone manufacturers. What the sgs2 community did was request drivers from qualcomm and they provided. I think with enough community support nvidia will as well. We are one driver away from complete ics goodness, no more crashes or bugs. I searched Google and saw that this community has already contacted nvidia here: http://forums.developer.nvidia.com/devforum/discussion/1726/tegra-2-source-code/p1 and here: http://forums.developer.nvidia.com/devforum/discussion/comment/3236?Sort=popular
So let's group together and work as a team to convince nvidia they will be doing a great service to our community, it will only strengthen their presence in the android community by doing so.
Any developers here have suggestions on persuading nvidia to support us and have them notice us? I think their dev forum is a good start, also social media may help. I wonder how many g2x owners are still out there?
lets make our voices heard and finish what we started.

NVIDIA doesn't give a damn.
I tried, but I don't think Nvidia will really care.
Their revunue in 2010 is like 3.2billion..
I don't think our million $ of phone on XDA even matter to nVidia.
Nvidia doesnt give a ****... they never release binaries for their video cards or other hardware either regardless of countless requests...
Nvidia I think wont waste their tine on phones. they have graphic cards for pcs

Lol didn't even realize that.
Anyways I tried as well way back when asking for drivers for the gTablet as well, Nvidia doesn't care. Hence why I'm going Samsung for phones, and ATI/AMD for graphics on the PC next time.

Quick edit, did anyone else notice the guy saying that Nvidia is trying to release the binaries for Tegra 2 Dual Cores in 2012? He posted this in November 2011:
Hello Android Development Community
We appreciate all the interest and passion surrounding the NVIDIA Tegra Platform and we take our support for the development community seriously. NVIDIA has been working with Google and Motorola to provide the open source community with the required drivers and other binary code to build full Android OS images for the Tegra 2 powered "Motorola Xoom". We expect Google to make those components available as part of the Android Open Source Project soon.
In addition, NVIDIA is working on a full release of Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) for our Tegra 2 Dual Core and Tegra 3 Quad Core reference devices to be made available early next year. This release package will comprise of binary code, drivers developed on our reference platforms and any patches necessary to ensure stability & performance with ICS. We hope the open source community can leverage this release for their work on all Tegra devices.

But I'm a little confused, why, then, is everyone worried about receiving these binaries? Or am I not reading this correctly?
Sorry for my ignorance, I do not know much about the driver development with regards to linux/android/ICS, going to google this a bit now.

The same issue has been beaten to death on XDA and elsewhere. I am pissed-off that those who newly raise this issue haven't done their homework, they just ignorantly post what has already been dealt with and are using up/wasting bandwidth and storage. The same for others who ask without researching/looking first to determine if the answer to their question exists before they ask. I've stopped answering questions which have been answered many times already. That may be perceived by some as arrogant/harsh/mean/etc. but that's OK, they can keep answering the same questions over and over and over and over and over... again.

Korean LG says ICS is in testing phase, that's awesome news for us!
Nice, thanks for posting
Finally (maybe) no more limping ICS builds here.
Ya, let's hope one of the devs are still around when it's released =P
This sounds too good to be true... Especially because I can't read Korean...
LG is having a laugh at their customers' expense. I've never seen a company SO inept at just giving a fscking "YES" or "NO" answer about a product.
Oh please oh please don't lie to us or we will just continue to beg you more!! write letters, social media, and petition. I meed a break from all this buddy

I posted this in another thread but our good friend Paul O'Brien's sources say it's "imminent" for the 2X
The will-it-wont-it saga over the Ice Cream Sandwich updates for LG devices has been rolling on for months, but now, thankfully, we've had word from our LG insider on what's REALLY happening!
The news is good. Ice Cream Sandwich updates are nearing completion and will be released imminently for the Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D and Optimus Black! Exact dates are still not forthcoming, but we'll keep you posted with more news as we get it.
I'm really happy for LG users that this is going to happen, the support so far has been pretty shocking and LG really could do with turning it around.

Well here's hoping the LG Insider is right. If he is that means fully supported ICS for the T-Mo G2X once the devs get their hands on it. Not that I am complaining at all about HFP but it would be nice to run a fully supported ICS on the G2X.
Seems I heard this a few times before. I'll believe it when I see... Wait. I got rid of my G2x.
But just for arguments sake that this is true. They are in a testing phase. Which means the earliest this would be release to T-Mobile is what, Jan-Feb. and then they have to test it. So what, the 2 year anniversary of the device? I got my G2x on pre-order. It's been dead. Sorry, but I can't see this being offered as an official update.
No place in the article does it mention an "official update" coming. Seems the articles writer is jumping the gun in this one.
It won't ever be official for TMobile..suppose to be just for Korean o2x correct? But that's when devs can try and port it for those of us remaining hopeless souls

Better on the battery, since wifi doesn't work.
Once wifi gets fixed, it should be about the same again.
Just a side note installing an ICS KERNEL like hefe will earn you a boot loop, so don't unless you like that sort of thing.

Its funny I remember the last time source code was not posted when promised devs got upset and there was a huge dog-pile.
Per the rules here at xda source code should be posted. When can links be expected? .
By posting your work on XDA-Developers, you are agreeing that it complies with relevant licensing conditions. As such, by posting a kernel or other work containing GPL code, you are confirming to us that you have made this source code available publicly under the GPL, and should highlight this in your thread with a link.

It's no secret you have a beef with Erik, but really, going to try and call out "no source link", for an alpha build, when he's said he will get source for everyone to work with. If you are going to be that much of a stickler, then you better go through the ROM thread and find EVERY ROM that doesn't have a source link in the thread.
Seriously, go through every single ROM and post in that thread your little XDA link and quote, because otherwise it's shows your being petty against Erik and you're mad because the mod's keep deleting your posts or closing threads every time you start something. I just looked and saw 10 ROM's without source linked without even looking at Erik's releases, so go report all them too and post your quote.
He is not referring to ROM'S and ports, rather the kernel and CM10. er1kmm is NOT keeping it from people for malicious reasons. To imply otherwise is childish. You don't see ANYONE from TFQ releasing ANYTHING CM10. Please stop asking for ETA's. Grow up and stop whining.
Sent from a hole in the time/space continuum.
Actually this is something that is suppose to be released when the thread is started. So this eta is a valid one. It would be nice to have this code available so other people can look to see if they can fix stuff. I dont care when I beta release is made, I just care to see the source code posted. That is not a unreasonable request. This is a pretty major release and I know others are chomping at the bit to get it to start trying to fix some things.

Maybe, just maybe, there is something going on in er1kmm's personal life. I honestly don't know. Real life comes before XDA. Be yourself, report it, have any and all threads regarding CM10 deleted (including bhundven's which has been proven false, and his is now an "any other thread").
Edit: Not false, just no longer relevant.
I am not defending or going against anyone here, but the reason that I am asking for source is because I feel that once we have source, we will be able to fix a ton of issues. The more devs/helpers, the better.
And I am quite sure, since erik has promised us source, it'll be here soon enough.

Here is OnePlus' official statement clarifying what'll happen to the developer seeding program:
"Apologies, we weren’t as clear as we could have been. We’ve temporarily scaled back our developer program while we work out how to make it even better in the future. We’ll be updating the selection criteria and communication channels with developers in our seeding program for better co-operation. We will restart the program and select Devs based on the new criteria and will work on providing the best possible support to community development efforts for OnePlus devices." – OnePlus Spokesperson
