Yeah, I'd be able to find a sound fix if I did.

How's the battery life compared to ics? I'm guessing its around the same because it has nearly the same kernel
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app

Better on the battery, since wifi doesn't work.
Once wifi gets fixed, it should be about the same again.

Just a side note installing an ICS KERNEL like hefe will earn you a boot loop, so don't unless you like that sort of thing.

As soon as erik gets the source posted somewhere, it will receive some teamacid luv.
It's funny, because I started looking at a herring port last weekend, and then saw the dev thread erik started and stopped.

i am somewhat sure that I may be able to fix sound issues.

Its funny I remember the last time source code was not posted when promised devs got upset and there was a huge dog-pile.
Per the rules here at xda source code should be posted. When can links be expected? .
By posting your work on XDA-Developers, you are agreeing that it complies with relevant licensing conditions. As such, by posting a kernel or other work containing GPL code, you are confirming to us that you have made this source code available publicly under the GPL, and should highlight this in your thread with a link.

It's no secret you have a beef with Erik, but really, going to try and call out "no source link", for an alpha build, when he's said he will get source for everyone to work with. If you are going to be that much of a stickler, then you better go through the ROM thread and find EVERY ROM that doesn't have a source link in the thread.
Seriously, go through every single ROM and post in that thread your little XDA link and quote, because otherwise it's shows your being petty against Erik and you're mad because the mod's keep deleting your posts or closing threads every time you start something. I just looked and saw 10 ROM's without source linked without even looking at Erik's releases, so go report all them too and post your quote.

He is not referring to ROM'S and ports, rather the kernel and CM10. er1kmm is NOT keeping it from people for malicious reasons. To imply otherwise is childish. You don't see ANYONE from TFQ releasing ANYTHING CM10. Please stop asking for ETA's. Grow up and stop whining.
Sent from a hole in the time/space continuum.

Actually this is something that is suppose to be released when the thread is started. So this eta is a valid one. It would be nice to have this code available so other people can look to see if they can fix stuff. I dont care when I beta release is made, I just care to see the source code posted. That is not a unreasonable request. This is a pretty major release and I know others are chomping at the bit to get it to start trying to fix some things.

Maybe, just maybe, there is something going on in er1kmm's personal life. I honestly don't know. Real life comes before XDA. Be yourself, report it, have any and all threads regarding CM10 deleted (including bhundven's which has been proven false, and his is now an "any other thread").
Edit: Not false, just no longer relevant.

I am not defending or going against anyone here, but the reason that I am asking for source is because I feel that once we have source, we will be able to fix a ton of issues. The more devs/helpers, the better.
And I am quite sure, since erik has promised us source, it'll be here soon enough.

Want a very powerful and highly supported rom?

Some of you may or may not know ckisgen, the developer of the Royal Ginger rom for the glacier. If you don't know of him or his rom, head on over to the glacier forums and take a look at how popular him and his rom is. He is an unbelievable developer and would push the g2x to it's max. He has agreed to develop for the g2x if we can all get together to get him a g2x. So if everyone wants to see this phone reach it's full potential, lets get ckisgen a phone!

Nothing has been donated yet. I want to start this thread to see if anyone is interested and then figure out how we would go about doing it. If everyone that is interested would say how much they are willing to donate, then we could figure out how to go about it. I have never done this before so I don't know if we just donate everything to him directly, or if there is someone highly trusted to gather all of the money for the phone and send it to ckisgen?
It's just a thought. He would be a great dev for this phone IMO. This thread is for everyones opinions and ideas about it.

I post here to expose all KANGs and calling them out. I have been a long time lurker of this forum. Currently they are too many KANG artists here on XDA diluting the quality of developers here. RoyalGinger, what kind of name is that? I've been following his KANG of CM7 for a while now. What has he innovated that wasn't already coded by Team Douche? People need to wake up to the fact that he simply re-compiles what Team Douche has already done. Now he's asking for donation so he can KANG Team Douche even more than what he's already done so with MyTouch 4G? Mark my word, he will NOT add any innovation to G2x forum if he "develops" for this phone. He will always "Kang" Team Douche's work again for G2x. If you guys want real innovation, donate to Team Douche instead of this "Kang" artist.
RoyalGinger, how cocky can one be by calling a CM7 kang as some kind of royalty. I would give him more respect if he calls it RoyalKang

I'm sorry but you do not belong in this thread. And before you go talking bad about developers and falsely accusing them of kanging, maybe you should do some more research. How about you talk to ckisgen directly before trying to ruin his reputation for some reason that doesn't even exist.

Haha, I love it when people claim how good the so call "kang artist" but without proof to back it up. He "optimized" CM7? What kind of "optimization" did he perform? Why do you need to optimize CM7 when it is already optimized? I am calling him out because so far he has not shown any proof he "wrote" code to optimize CM7 code. So show me what he did in the "code" to make RoyalKang better than CM7? Tweaking CM7 settings is not innovation. Now I throw the ball back to your court. Show me what he did to optimize Team Douche's work. This is open source correct? So your so call developer can show me his "code" that he optimized CM7 source code. Unless he shows people what he did to "optimize" Team Douche's code, I still stand by my claim. I love to be proved wrong, show me the code!

Kang basically means to steal someone's work and say it's your own.
I just wanted to let everyone know that this guy who thinks he knows everything, really knows nothing. He is someone who is unhappy with his life and is taking it out on these forums. First of all, if this was something that was true, CM would have taken him down a looong time ago! This guy has been trolling the forums talking down on the developers, and has absolutely no proof or facts to back up what he is saying. I was following his posts, and happened to see that ckisgen also saw one of his posts in a different forum saying RG is a kang of CM7.
Please read what ckisgen had to say, this alone is proof that this guy is talking out of his arse:

Back on topic. We really need to get ckisgen over here! I have been rooting phones since the G1 and have NEVER used a rom on a phone that made it run as smooth and fast as Royal Ginger! And his kernels, unbelievable! He is an awesome developer. Not only does he make a great rom and kernel, he provides excellent support and really works hard to make everything perfect.
I love my new G2x, and cannot imagine it without Royal Ginger. This phone would become something nobody could ever imagine. Anything you would ever want in a vanilla Android rom, and from a developer.. ckisgen is the answer! I plan on having this phone for a while, and I'm sure a lot of you do as well. If when you bought your G2x and the T-Mobile rep or whoever you bought it from said for X amount of dollars extra we can make this phone a whole lot better and provide continuous updates and always be adding in the latest and greatest features, would you do it? I know I would.

Code:

Looks like it'll take a little more work before getting it to compile. I haven't had time to look at anything yet, took forever to get the source. But looks like we might have to port it to armv6 as google only worked on armv7 builds. I'll work on it more tonight, but I'm sure the real devs will have it compiling by then

[Q] Unfinished ROM's

Just curious, but...
It seems like, as of late, someone starts to build a new ROM, then stops updating after 2 or 3 rc's, leaving the ROM unfinished. I understand the ROMs are created in someone's spare time, but why start a ROM if you never intend to finish it? Why not finish it before you start something else, or just delete the development thread so we're not sitting here waiting for the next release that never seems to come? No offense to anyone, just curious.
Roms are never really finished you can always add new functions
, themes etc.

Quit flashing ROMs since you'll never have a 100% guarantee that someone will finish a ROM. Go back to stock GB which has a bad modem and reboot problems. Oh wait, Samsung didn't exactly give you a good ROM either.
Why is it that if the ROM never gets a final version its assumed its unfinished? The unfinished ROMs, ics mutt, cm7, miui, are all still works in progress (well maybe not miui, not sure of it's future). Seems to me everything else is fully functional and doesn't require anything else.
All the the most recent ones, unnamed, vb, icbinb, scom, these are problem free. Just find the right kernel and modem for your phone and they qualify as finished.

And like the post above me said the title doesnt have to be final for it to be final. Also, the dev can choose to start a new rom bc people want the new mod they are bringing to it along with a new theme and tweaks.
So thank you devs for the many roms you guys release.

most developers acknowledge that there are going to be some dev cycles involved in their releases. I guess some non-developers either don't realize that or haven't picked up on that yet.
Nothing's perfect so take it as it is and don't complain, and if it has a "final" tag on it, it just means the developer is done working on it. Beggars can't be choosers, and choosers can download the source and modify it themselves (or fsck it up even more ).
Quit your belly aching dude, instead, a little appreciation would be a welcome change. We have so many different options to choose from. And every time my noob ass bricks my phone these guys have a post on how to fix it. Fb is right, go back to stock if it bothers you so much, but I'll stick with my 2 day battery life.

I think that people get desperate when devs release and early version of a rom instead of an almost final. I think it would be best to release the "final" version to public and since there are many devs with the phone and so many wise users that know how to test and report correctly. In my humble opinion, a dev should pick a group of testers, silently and then release a "final" that probably would have 0 to very few changes. That way devs don't get pissed when people ask same questions and bring up many problems.
I have no problem testing or trying alpha, beta, charlie, delta......... zeta releases, but my concern is with devs releasing lots of projects and getting mad by people asking how to this and how to that. Yeah, read... blablabla yadda yadda... I know no one is in the obligation of doing nothing, either flash or develop or answer questions or help. Thing is that this is a community very diverse and noobs are going to be noobs, haters gonna hate and passive people will be passive...
No need to flame the OP. I think it's a good question, tho.
considering i no longer have a sgs4g it would be hard to update it. The rom itself is fine.. Don't see an issue. If you don't like the theme change it. If you don't like the rom learn how to make your own.

When a rom is release an OP comes with it where bugs known are said from the get go. As for bug reported devs are fine with them as long as logs are attached and they are real bugs and not just "I want a better theme" or "how do I install this rom".

The source code was released for the SU660. while the SU660 is similar to the G2x, it is not identical. There is still a good bit of work involved in getting it functioning on our phone. The people who can make it work are diligently working on it, it just takes time.

The devs got mad because you asked this question, so they all decided to strike, until you apologize.

been crawling through the g2x forums. its as if all everything stalled for this phone at the end of Oct. I understand the source code for cm10 has been released for the su660 and that it will only be a matter of time until we get something. idk. G2x is now an "old" phone. how long do Devs really work on a phone before they get tired of it? seems to me that dev like to stay cutting edge....g2x is now the dull part of that cutting edge. I love my G2X. no doubt. and i hope that someone will keep dev for it. i may have to start teaching myself this stuff just so i can make custom roms after everyone else moves on lol.:fingers-crossed:
