So, I bought a Qwest Mogul that a guy was using on Sprint. Well I put a Verizon compatible rom on it so it is ready to go on Verizon's network. Well here is the problem, I took it to two Verizon stores yesterday. One was not a corporate store so there weren't able to help me, but were somewhat helpful. The other was an actual Verizon store, the person on the phone for customer service told me that I would have to take it to a store and they would ship it off to get it ready for the network. Well I was willing for them to do that if I could get the phone working. Well I got it there and the guy was typing **** on the computer and after about a half an hour he told me that they couldn't because the phone wasn't E911 compliant. There is no way that the phone isn't E911 compliant. They won't do anything else because the ESN says it isn't.
What should I do? Should I just sell it back on ebay and save up the extra $100 for an XV8600 or is there something I can do. Verizon is totally lame for this. Please try to help me.
Keep calling technical support until someone will add your esn to their database.
I will continue trying that. Does Sprint need to release the ESN to Verizon? That is what I got told today on my 2 hours of getting the runaround from local Verizon stores and the Sprint stores that I went into had no idea what I was talking about. I figured I was not making as much impact on the phone as I could in person, but people are just as dumb in person as they are on the phone.
I wanted to confirm if they are selling the S-AMOLED or the SC-LCD version. Yes I know it says in the product description that it's S-AMOLED, but some retailers just copy off specs from tech site without knowing that there are two different versions. I contact them, but they said "we're not aware of there being two different version, and we couldn't locate the product code outside the box(GT-i9020 or GT-i9023)"
So if anybody has bought one from clove, it'd be grateful to hear from you. Thanks.
Recently on the U.S. Carriers have become a problem. So I thought of some ideas that could solve this huge problem. First, the companies who are making android devices should open their own stores and people go to them to buy the phones. Like in England, you buy your phone, and then you have a carrier to provide you with service. A pluse side to this would be that if you ever have a problem with your phone, the people working their, they know how the phone works. Unlike the carriers, they always make you check for an update, or factory reset the phone. This is what apple has done successfully, the people at the apple store, know how it works and can fix any hardware, and most software problems.
Second, carrier I.Q. is a huge problem right now. If we get pur phones from the company its self, then choose a provider, the extra bloatware won't be installed. Meaning carrier IQ wouldn't be a problem.
Please post you thoughts or ideas.

The problem is in the UK all the phones work on the networks and they are unified. In America you have 4 different carriers with 4 different types of networks that are incompatible with each other (yes i know AT&T/ T-Mo = 2G and you can flash Verizon / sprint devices)
I wouldn't mind seeing some of these stores for support, I love being able to go to an apple store whenever I have a problem with my phone
They have their own stores, online. Offline, not that many are willing to forkdoodle $5-800 on an unlocked phone save the iSheep, but in those cases its sheep flocking their new purchases overseas.
As far as carrier iq, who's stopping you from rooting and root uninstalling all the bloatware?
Lastly, if you're THAT concerned with all of this new nonsense, hop OFF of android.

The phone makers would still have to deal with the carriers here in the US. The carriers here own the rights to the frequencies these phones are capable of using. That means they can make demands. But if the phone makers did accept the carrier demands, whatever they be, a walk-in store would be great. Google should do a store also.
If google made a "Android" store, I would buy my phone from their, not the carriers store.

A Google store with Android phones tablets cromebooks and Google TV would be cool but I think the sheer number of products would be a issue

You mean, lack there of. A LOT of google stuff is free after all, and the rest rests in other manufacturers' hands unlike Apple crap. Nor does Android OS have any of its own PCs nor laptops and there is a pretty big gap between them and laptops. Also no, actually cheap, small devices to match ipods for kids and such.
That's true I'm sure us on this forum would love a Android/Google store. More and more things are coming out with Android in it. I even remember seeing a washing machine lol. I have a chrome book a GTV a phone and also a tablet so for me it would be cool. But with Android being open it would be a hard to get all the OEM's on bored.

It sounds like a good idea when it comes to having the "in person" support from the company your phone comes from, and if you want to buy a phone from that specific company for what ever reasons.
But I also have the feeling that it will do more harm to those companies.
I dont see how it would hurt the OEM's. One of the main knocks is the way you have to get support. I live in Las Vegas we have 3 apple stores. The have a repair shop and can fix a lot of things have you ever took a phone back to sprint lol its a joke. I feel it would help the OEM's. They would just need to figure what phones and tablets to carry. I remember reading about the Android store if they do good google has to follow

I agree with this, a 'Samsung' store or LG store or something like that would push the price of the products up for the sake of running the stores. an Android store would work far better than a manufactor store, Apple can sell their overpriced stuff in their stores anyway, but they offer other services such as fixing the items, thats why Apple stores work.
Carrier stores in many ways are outdated.
I agree, I took my first android android " Samsung Moment" back to sprint. And all they did was update it, sadly it sucked on eclair. So all they would do is replace the phone and restore it. If I could have Samsung fix it, personally they could have fix it. Instead I switches plans and got this phone.

I have seen some mention in a couple threads here, but nothing definitive. Is there any difference in the Samsung Perks offered for the Wifi versus LTE (specifically Verizon) models? Can anyone who has received the Verizon model chime in with their experience with what perks are offered, or even a shot of the protective screen film that lists them off?
Much obliged.

Just read the fine print for which ones are not valid for the Verizon Note Pro.

And now I feel foolish, because though I read the asterisk'd text, I completely missed the link to the full terms. Sigh. Thank you.
I wonder, why do they do this? Why can't you get the same Perks on the Note12.2 no matter if you've bought it at Verizon or the WiFi version? Luckily, I got the years subscription to Evernote using my Note3...which is odd, because that's also on Verizon.
Though I suggest everyone read through the full terms and conditions (because knowledge), the perks that aren't available to the Verizon variant are Dropbox space, 1 year Evernote, and RemotePC. I wonder as well why these three aren't offered to Verizon customers. I would say that it's because VZW offers competing services, but aside from dropbox that isn't true. I could also guess that perhaps there were network/data concerns with Dropbox/RemotePC, but that doesn't really follow for Evernote.
Probably just stupid Licensing/Contract stuff behind the scenes that have changed since the Note 3 came out.
What is really aggravating is you are paying more for the same product but getting less. It'd stand to say that the services you're missing out on are worth about $100 but you're paying $100 more for the LTE version so they're making some $200 off of those of us that simply want mobility... Where's the offer for $50 in play credit? I didn't see that anywhere when I was setting it up. Or am I mistaken?
Thanks guys!

There's only a $25 Play Credit advertised and I got that within an hour of registering the device. I DID get a $50 Credit with my Note3 so I have a $75 Samsung Play Store Credit Balance right now. You have to register your device with Samsung to get most of these "perks".
I'm looking to purchase the S7 at full price without any catch. I was looking into T-Mobile but need to purchase a plan with the phone and needs to be activated for 40 days for them to unlock it.
Apparently US Cellular has the lowest price currently; are they known to lock bootloaders? I use Cricket so I only need a phone that uses AT&T network if I can't sim unlock it.
Cricket has finally added a banner to their website for the S7. No details yet if they will have them on launch day or not, price should be the same as anywhere. https://www.cricketwireless.com/samsung-galaxy-s7.html

you could try clove or handtec. ships from UK. I've done this for the xperia series before and they worked perfect on ATT. Clove has mention of samsung locking their phones since 2013 though. May want to read everything carefully and make sure you know what you're getting into. I really wanted to do this as well. I hate the ATT bloatware. ATT address book and yellow pages drive me insane!
