I update to 4.2 everything works except nova 3. When I launch the game it says my copy is not original. I purchase the game in game loft wap store and I wish to find a solution because I don't want to re install because in this way I will loose all my save game...
Or maybe there is a way to backup my save games?

Contact the developer.. There is nothing we can do. The developer implemented a method to check for piracy (good for them ) but they have to obviously make updates for 4.2. I am guessing something changed in your device a file location, a hex value (my guessing is this) or something along those lines, that is reporting the falsification.

Is PvZ even a Tegra game? I don't think it is but in any case...
So I'm assuming you installed it, the phone restarted and you try clicking the game and it still wont work?
Make sure you get the nvidia plug-ins...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18016995&postcount=53
and whatever shaders you might need..( for instance if you try playing games like riptide you'll notice you can't see the dude on the jetski and a lot of the graphics are black and blue and crap. if you have the appropriate shader then all will be as it should be)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14515949&postcount=4
Just download them and put the zip file on your sdcard
Then in Chainfire3D click on Install plugins / shaders > click on appropriate plugins to install > click Default OpenGL settings > click on Use plugin > select NVIDIA > restart game and you should be good
You might consider BUYING the Pro version as it lets you set a "per-app" setting which allows you to leave the default as no plugin and for each game you have installed you can set it to use a certain plugin whenever you play that game. It's pretty convenient as you'll notice if you're like me I used to forget to change the default back to no plugin and whenever I'd try to play a game like Reckless Getaway I'd get a bunch of numbers and crap instead of the proper graphics.
I guess its not a Tegra game.. someone said it was so I got all happy. I'm not sure how to play or find PvZ now.
But thanks so much for this. I got it all working.

I have the Infinity - US version but running in Italy.
After experiencing some stuttering in audio playback and apps freezing - Launcher, News 360 and YouTube - I checked out the Asus Taskmanager Widget and found a few Apps running that I considered unnecessary, the key ones being [email protected] and PixWe. These two kept re-launching themselves even when I killed the task. They didn't start immediately but something triggered them!
Using the feature in ICS which allows you to disable apps, even those built into the ROM, I was able to get my Infinity to perform as it should. There were some apps which had been updated so all that was required for these was to uninstall the updates and restore them to the Factory version.
The procedure then, is as follows:
1. In the Settings, choose Apps and then ALL
2. Select the app you want to disable and clear the cache and any data it may have stored.
3. Force Stop the app and then tap the Disable button. You will probably get a message that doing so may cause problems with other apps, blah, blah, blah. Just click OK and then proceed to the next app.
The Apps I Disabled:
Amazon Kindle
ASUS E-mail
Asus Facebook Poster
ASUS MyZine
ASUS Sync
[email protected]
Black Hole
Chrome
com.asus.pcsynclauncher
Google+
MEar
My Uploads
MyCloud
MyNet
PixWe
PressReader
Splashtop Remote

I would suggest rebooting the tablet after you have disabled the apps just to make sure that unwanted apps are disabled and any associated task killed. You should find that what you have disabled remains so even after a reboot.
Of course some of the apps I disabled may be useful to you so you may not want to disable them. I would suggest disabling what you don't need or, if someone has more patience than I, try each app until they find the culprit causing the system to halt, stutter, etc.
I did this yesterday and up until now I can say that things are running extremely well. I hope that this proves helpful to someone and maybe even gives some of the devs a list of problem causing bloatware.
Thanks for this, there are a few interesting posts here and there on this too, so we could probably merge them into a nice list here:

And personally I'd add CMClient to that list:

The first two links relate to rooted and unlocked devices. This would be the path to take if were not worried about losing your warranty!
I thought that what I offered would cater to those who didn't want to root or unlock. For now it's a shortcut but personally I am waiting for further development of custom ROMS and especially JellyBean, assuming of course Asus doesn't offer an OTA for JellyBean first!
Sure, good point. But to add some info for rooted users: you can just go to /system/app/ and do sth like mkdir backups and then mv AppName.* backup/ for all you want to (temporarily) get rid of. It's better if it stays on the system partition, so it has the same permissions. Of course you could also change the permissions to sth like 600 and change the file name to sth like (apk|odex).bak, in case something will be looking for the filename in different paths.
These can be done in managers like Root Explorer, not necessarily the shell, of course.
(damn, ran out of thanks again, they could set a higher limit really ;>)
Why did you disable Chrome? It isn't installed by default so you would have installed it via the Play Store.

I'm not sure how I got it, now that you ask. I'll try to enable it and then try to uninstall. Thanks for picking that up.
Looks like it is a default app. I'm only able to disable it. It does not give the option to uninstall!
This is good advice. I had to recently factory reset because the background apps were killing my battery and my tablet's performance (Apex would literally crash every 5 minutes). Now my battery life is much better and performance is more buttery smooth. Really wish that there was a nice App that could just optimize my tablet and do all this in one touch.

Yes that seems to be it, thanks.
Glad I could finally help someone. Have fun with the Infinity a lot better then the Prime
Wow, disabling the bloatware really does help... I followed your list and disabled most of the same apps, except a few that I do use (ie. Kindle). It's much snappier now, and I haven't had a lockup yet.
Thanks!!

Mine started to lag quite a bit when I used Go Launcher EX. As soon as I uninstalled it and deleted the cached in Chrome browser, which for some reason accumulated 110mbs of memory and did a cold boot everything is so fast and smooth again I've always used Go Launchers on all my android devices. It must not be optimized yet...

Even after disabling the apps listed in my original post I was still experiencing lag and the occasional lockup. I thought it my have been "News 360" but this turned out to be victim rather than cause of the problem. I thought it was maybe the "YouTube" app because of the problems I had read that others were having but this too turned out to be a victim as well. Basically browser video playback was causing the tablet to lock up, the launcher to FC and even forcing reboots.
The problem app was in fact Adobe Flash! I unistalled it last night to test my theory and sure enough EVERYTHING is now fine. Of course it is no longer available as a download on the Play Store and I am wary of trying to reinstall / sideload it from another source. The version that I had installed was 11.1.1 . If anyone knows of the existence of a more recent version could they post a link?
In the end it's not an essential app for me but it does make some of the older sites a bit more usable until they fully update to HTML5.
My father has a Samsung GT 7.7. Being a noob, he doesn't know much how to use it. Device is not yet rooted. I am not staying with him. So no possibility of connecting through wifi connection. I would like to remotely access his device from my pc, so I can remotely install apps and such. Installing apps is easy, cos I have his google email and password with me. What I'd like to be able to do is connect to the device in real time with something like teamviewer so that I can customize his device, access his files load his device with my huge collections of ebooks. But with team viewer android device can access PC and not vice versa. Is there any way I can do this?
Teamviewer has a Samsung only version, wherein you can remote the device from a PC or another mobile device with teamviewer. It can be downloaded on Samsung Apps. Oh and btw you can only install it on a Samsung phone/tablet with stock rom.

if you have your fathers google account just sign onto google play, select the apps you want to install and it will automatically push the app to the device associated with the google play account. very easy to do

Thanks so much, team viewer quick support enabled me to access my father's device remotely. Only caveat is that it's a bit slow. But otherwise I can get the work done. No more giving instructions over phone which is really irritating for him as well as mine.

I have been playing some heavy games like gangstar vegas, wild blood, asphalt7, 8 and nfs most wanted, etc for the past 1 month on my tab 2(no root)
I was started to experience a problem after a month.
That my tablet was unable to play any type of media file and tends to freeze afterwards and unable to shutdown rhe tab.
After doing a factory reset I was able to overcome such problem, but, none of my games listed above are running anymore.
I tried all versions of such games compatible with my tab, but none seems to work.
I am able to play lite games like temple run 2, subway surfers, etc.
All Heavy games crashing automatically 2sec after launching.
I have not rooted my tab and not willing to root my tab requires help .
Is there any way I can be able to play those games again on my tab.
Please reply.
Crashing normally happens when the device ram gets overbuffed due to the game or theres's a malware in your phone ( keeping in mind the recent malware attacks !!)
My suggestion : re-insatll the games one by one and try them !!
Or else you can always go to a samsung cusrtomer support !!

I have tried reinstalling the gams many times but the problem persists, the samsung customer care says that gaming is not a part of warranty issues and I cannot to the customer care untill my tab is working fine.
Is there any defect with my hardware or software?

Sent from my GT-P3100 using XDA Premium HD app
Yes, definately. I use apks from external sources
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
Then there is very good change that those APK's from those external sources are infected with malware....try factory resetting or run a virus scan using any antivirus app from Play store....:good:
Yeas, exactly !!! killerassassin is right !! Sometimes apks do contain malware and to secure your device from these malwares you should use reputed antivirus apps . I use AVG antivirus in my tab and it automatically scans and detects any threats in the apk as soon as i install it and notifies me if it found any . So take my advice and be carefull with the apk stuff .

What identifiers does the play store use other then build.prop to determine eligibility for apps? My custom rom is unable to download k1 specific games. With build.prop mods I can however use the grid app. I'm missing something. If I sdeload the apps, they work fine. Any help is appreciated.
sorry i cant help, but can you explain the build.prop mod? could i copy over the Trine2 apk+data from my Shield tablet to my Samsung tab with a modded build.prop and run the game?

Quite a few. There's the build fingerprint, there are also all the permissions XMLs (/system/etc/permissions IIRC - I don't have access to my usual reference sources atm.)
I think the easiest way for you would be to enable all asps on the play stir. If you do a Google search there is a walk through of how to do it.

No, the Trine 2 apk that comes with the shield tablet appears to search for the shield wireless game controller drivers. Even though you don't need the controller to play Trine 2 on the Shield tablet, when on a device without the drivers it simply paints a controller picture over the screen and states its missing. I'm sure it has to do with the game using Nvidia's mapping software for the game when playing with no controller. So without the drivers and overlay software, the game has issues.
That was what I ran in to trying to get it running on my Jetson TK1 (K1 Dev Board).
**Edit**
Editing build.prop allows for tweaks to the system as well as a way to fake a device or build. Tons of info just by googling it. More then I could run through in this thread, sorry.

To my knowledge there isn't a trick to actually unlock "every" app on Play Store. Most hacks that claim such just involve spoofing a common device such as the nexus 7. This won't allow for K1 specific apps and so forth though. Easy way to test is trying to download Nvidia's face demo on a non Tegra device. If you know a way that you have tested to work, I'm all ears haha. This has been driving me nuts. At least I got a few working.
