My father has a Samsung GT 7.7. Being a noob, he doesn't know much how to use it. Device is not yet rooted. I am not staying with him. So no possibility of connecting through wifi connection. I would like to remotely access his device from my pc, so I can remotely install apps and such. Installing apps is easy, cos I have his google email and password with me. What I'd like to be able to do is connect to the device in real time with something like teamviewer so that I can customize his device, access his files load his device with my huge collections of ebooks. But with team viewer android device can access PC and not vice versa. Is there any way I can do this?
Teamviewer has a Samsung only version, wherein you can remote the device from a PC or another mobile device with teamviewer. It can be downloaded on Samsung Apps. Oh and btw you can only install it on a Samsung phone/tablet with stock rom.

if you have your fathers google account just sign onto google play, select the apps you want to install and it will automatically push the app to the device associated with the google play account. very easy to do

I can find team viewer remote control, which I have already installed. But it works only android to pc and not pc to android. Can you point me to a link or something?

Thanks so much, team viewer quick support enabled me to access my father's device remotely. Only caveat is that it's a bit slow. But otherwise I can get the work done. No more giving instructions over phone which is really irritating for him as well as mine.

I have a PC in the US and a netflix account, currently I'm on (a long) vacation in a different country where netflix doesn't work.
I want to install some VPN solution on my PC there and watch netflix on my transformer, is there an app that can connect to such vpn and direct all/some traffic through there?
What should I install on my PC? OpenVPN? I don't suppose hamachi can work? I already use that...
Thanks
You can probably use MyCloud (SplashTop), I've tried it before and it work OK.
Follow this tutorial and I got it set up on the first try.

thanks, I saw some old threads about this, but a networking solution feels better than a remote desktop.
Try strongvpn account. Set it up on your eepad and watch netflix without need for PC. Youll need to install netflix app on your eeepad of course.
Root then use the modded system file to watch it directly from your phone

I use playon
It works great. A little expensive but you get hulu, netflix, cbs.com, and many others.

I use hideipvpn (see below), currently on iPad but as soon as next gen of Android tablets will see the daylight I am moving on to one of them (preferably Transformer 2 - anything but Tegra 2 ;-) ).
Plus I would like to use netflix app like on iPad - without the need for any hocus - pocus.
Proxpn is great. If you subscribe to premium you can use their pptp servers without any extra software. You just add a VPN in honeycombed settings. $10 gets you a bunch of US servers, UK and maybe more.

hideipvpn works great for me too!

Are you signed in using the same account you used to purchase? If you have multiple accounts on the phone then you can change accounts from in the play app by pressing menu, then accounts.

Try to visit the site with your computer and see if the app is bought or not.

I've asked the mods to move that to general as it's not phone specific. I've also added a method of doing it from the address bar, so you don't have to either use Chrome or figure out how to do the same in your browser of choice.
Is My IP blocked by google? Playstore works fine on GPRS but when I try to download applications throug Wifi on note it shows server error. When i click download, it say country not supported. It lets me download through GPRS. Can anyone pls help?
I recently purchased Android Tablets for my children. I want to allow market access to those devices without also giving them access to my Gmail/YouTube, etc....
Anyone know how to accomplish this?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I dont think You can butvyou can add another account the default one. Then add the account with the purchased apps just to install them. Then remove it. That's the way I do it on my devices

Open a gmail account for your kid and use that on the tablet.
Then root the tablet and add gmail.google.com and www.youtube.com to the hosts file.
The root method's a little extreme. My devices are rooted but I don't wanna do that to my kids tablets.
It's kind of silly that you can't just sign into your account in the market.

You can use a browser interface with the market. Just use dolphin or browser of your choice to browse to market.android.com It will redirect to the new Play URL. Log in and you can push apps to your devices. The device must be linked to your account. When you click install it will ask you which device to send the app to. Click the device and it will download and install automatically to the device you specified.
They easiest way would be to root, use root explorer, remove the apks for gmail under the system/app folder, then uninstall all root apps...

try with parental control apps
As far as i know all the current anti-theft apps need 3g, as their protection system is based on SMS and need internet access to locate the device.
Is there any other app that overcomes this limitation that I am unware of?
+1
Cerberus needs only wifi. You can log in to the homepage to trace the device.
I use it on my tf300 and it work just fine.
If you get Cerberus you can have up to 3 devices on one user, i think. I have 2 devices.

Okay so is an internet connection still required to trace the device?
EDIT: seems the device will mail its location if connected to the internet, also cerberus will automatically try to connect to open wifi networks nearby

Yes you need Internet. And as you found out, the App will send an email or you can trace it live from their Web site.

You can create Office docs with OfficeSuite Pro, but it's a paid app.
