[Q] How to run INT2EXT scripts on Stock Rom 2.3.3 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been using LG P500 from last 2 years. I have tried many custom ROM but now back to stock ROM.
Can anyone tell me how to use INT2EXT on this ROM, as I already tried flashing these scripts in recovery. But unfortunately none of it worked.

Does the stock rom have init.d support? If you look in system/etc is there an init.d folder?

As far as I know stock ROM doesn't come with init.d support
But you can use this app to add init.d support

Can anyone help me with this????

You cannot run int2ext or link2SD on stock because the stock kernel doesn't support ext partition. Try using a custom kernel that supports ext partition .

Flash djnoxd kernel with new gpu libs, then flash int2ext

If I had to flash a new kernel then the purpose of being on Stock ROM will diminish.
The purpose of being on stock ROM that there is no real bug in ROM and great battery life.
Is there any other mod which I can you besides flashing kernel?

I'll just combine the above posts because they're all incomplete.
First of all, you need busybox installed.
Install it from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInN0ZXJpY3Nvbi5idXN5Ym94Il0.
Then, you need to add init.d support (this will enable running scripts on boot)
For this, you have to install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wyLDEsImNvbS5hbmRyb2d1aWRlLnBpbXAubXkucm9tIl0.
Then, you need a custom kernel like Candied kernel. And finally, you can flash INT2EXT.

If I have to deal with few bugs on my own, then its better that i'll use some custom rom again with init.d support.

Why don't you use link2sd? It's supported on stock roms, i'm using it on Stock GB 2.3.5 (Rooted obviously) and it works great, 240 apps and 62MB of free internal memory

cant wait for the new Quantum Rom by the Way!
Can we flash this Kernel on CWM3 & then flashed the De-oxidized pre-rooted rom?
If not, how do we make it work on EXT4?
Thanks Dameon... I can't imagine why we still want to support RFS,since you were the big backer of EXT4 in the beggining, and we have all proved it safe. Just want to see the kernel as clean as possible... And I can't wait to see you put out an OC/UV kernel.

So do u have to do the 1 click root v.2.5.x install the kernal then do the 1 click root cwm3? I'm just confused a bit.

Didn't work for me. Shows the stock "Android" logo flashing over the boot animation and then the phone freezes and keeps soft-resetting. Followed the directions to a T, guess it just doesn't like me.

no use the one click root from the link i provided. it will install cwm 3 once you reboot and convert everything to ext4 automatically. then all you do is flas the kernel.

Insecure kernel XWKK2?

I'm looking for an insecure XWKK2 kernel, and to be honest I've lost faith in my quest. Is there any possibility to use any other kernel to flash with? And I'm not interested in CFRoot, it just won't work with my phone for some reason,

i am also looking for this insecure kernel I9100XWKK2

You could look in the development forum for i9100 and pick one of the custom kernels that are flashable with Odin. Make sure your device is compatible with the kernel though.
I like siyah personally.

[Solved][Closed] Ram related problem.

After flashing kernel 3.0.x stable release over CM10 beta 3, as sakindia said 10 mb ram will be reduce so total RAM was 408mb. But afterwards when i flash stock rom i still have only 408mb of ram rather than getting 418mb of ram. I have done clean installation of stock ROM. So my question is is it possible to get my orignal rom back?
by "original rom", you mean the stock rom with stock kernel ?

Yes. I have flashed stock rom with stock kernel.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
Most probably because kernel 3 configured only 408mb ram & stock kernel can't override it, because api level of kernel 3 is higher than stock kernel. Hence, maybe the higher precedence is the reason.
If this is actually the case, then you will need to format your ram disk then flash stock kernel to get 418mb ram.

Ok.. thanx buddy.. could u help me with that ramdisk stuff. How to restore it it original. And also i hv one problem that i had install stock rom from our pico devlopment site and getting restart often. And afterwards stuck at HTC logo. So is it possible it is caused by this kernel problem or internal stock rom problem?
FYI i hv installed asian stock rom from our stock rom thread.
Again thank you.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
You need to unpack & repack (modify, if you want) the ramdisk.img from the kernel source. You can find tutorials via Google or in xda-forums. That's how you can format ramdisk.
If you don't want to get into all this trouble, then simply wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache & wipe dalvik-cache. Then flash kernel & rom again.
This process may also solve your abnormal rebooting issue, also.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using XDA Premium HD app
Solved..!!
Thanks buddy for your help. I always do clean installation of rom using TWR but i guess i had some problem with it. Installed clockworkmod recovery and flash ROM and get back the 418mb of RAM and also random reboot also solved.
Keep doing your work. Thanx again.

[Q] How can ı add custom kernel to stock rom

İ want add custom kernel to my stock rom How can ı do that?(sorry for bad english)
Easy, since CWM doesn't support RFS file systems just use the Stock Recovery to flash the zip of the Kernel. But, make sure the kernel supports stock or stock-based roms before flashing it as it may damage your device if your not careful

sorry, I don't know. I'm using the 4.0 stock rom and it runs well with that kernel.
battery dies a little faster than the CM 11 rom.
Instead of requesting things, you could get them done.
You have kernel compiling tutorials.
You (I assume), have a machine capable of running Linux.
You have an internet connection (evidently), so, you have access to kernel sources.
You have the commits for S2W here: https://github.com/cybojenix/android_kernel_htc_pico/commits/master
Then, why don't you make yourself a stock kernel with S2W, if you really want it?
Note: You here, refers to all those who want a stock kernel with S2W, but randomly turn up on this thread hoping someone else will do it. The fact is, no one will. You have to help yourselves.
Respects and regards,
<the person who doesn't care>.
P.S. Now that I've typed all this crap (which will (hopefully) guide you in the right direction), lemme give you some more info.
the himax8526a was never updated (i don't see a reason for it to be), except for once, by derefas to fix touch screen in sense 4.0, here: https://github.com/cybojenix/android_kernel_htc_pico/commit/45392ad98882a4c6f492dd17dc2579689d8053c4
so, s2w in stock kernel should be as easy as applying patches and building.
If you are too "lazy" to do that, the problem is with you. Not the community.
