After flashing kernel 3.0.x stable release over CM10 beta 3, as sakindia said 10 mb ram will be reduce so total RAM was 408mb. But afterwards when i flash stock rom i still have only 408mb of ram rather than getting 418mb of ram. I have done clean installation of stock ROM. So my question is is it possible to get my orignal rom back?
by "original rom", you mean the stock rom with stock kernel ?

Yes. I have flashed stock rom with stock kernel.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
Most probably because kernel 3 configured only 408mb ram & stock kernel can't override it, because api level of kernel 3 is higher than stock kernel. Hence, maybe the higher precedence is the reason.
If this is actually the case, then you will need to format your ram disk then flash stock kernel to get 418mb ram.

Ok.. thanx buddy.. could u help me with that ramdisk stuff. How to restore it it original. And also i hv one problem that i had install stock rom from our pico devlopment site and getting restart often. And afterwards stuck at HTC logo. So is it possible it is caused by this kernel problem or internal stock rom problem?
FYI i hv installed asian stock rom from our stock rom thread.
Again thank you.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda app-developers app
You need to unpack & repack (modify, if you want) the ramdisk.img from the kernel source. You can find tutorials via Google or in xda-forums. That's how you can format ramdisk.
If you don't want to get into all this trouble, then simply wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache & wipe dalvik-cache. Then flash kernel & rom again.
This process may also solve your abnormal rebooting issue, also.

Solved..!!
Thanks buddy for your help. I always do clean installation of rom using TWR but i guess i had some problem with it. Installed clockworkmod recovery and flash ROM and get back the 418mb of RAM and also random reboot also solved.
Keep doing your work. Thanx again.

Can someone help on how to restore a kernel. Kernel was from cm7 nightly 147 stock , try to install T15 kernel but stock on boot lop, so i wanted to restore the stock cm7 kernel without having to restore the entire rom, i did have nandroid back up . Thanks in advance . I dunno why i did it ( my dmb @ss noob brain , i guess t15 kernel is not compatible with cm7 nightly)

I believe the only way to do it is to re-flash the ROM. And T15 is compatible with Cm7...im using it with MIUI which is CM based.
or try re-flashing T15 again:
Wipe cache and Dalvik and you should be good.
Try flashing the same rom, just wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash. You flashed the old morfic kernel, there is a new one in his thread towards the end of the thread, i think he didn't update the op.
Go here and get the newest one for g2x

I just learned about the kernels for the XL and was interested in having the s2w feature. Can anyone advise the most stable build I can use with stable CM10 on the phone? I am new to kernel flashing and in a few threads, it appears the kernels are either CM10 nightly enabled (past the stable -- incompatible) or for Sense ROMs (also incompatible).
the kernels in the android development are sense only. since you want sleep2wake the only real option for you is rohan's kernel, its meant for aosp roms like cm10, and is the only kernel for jb roms that has s2w.
And for future references, if I am running on Rohan's kernel and flash a Sense ROM over it what would happen? Are you suppose to flash the kernel with a Sense kernel before going back to a Sense rom?

Yes, non sense kernels will not work with sense roms. Reinstall stock or one of the other sense kernels when you switch roms.

I should be more clear. If I had Rohan on my phone and went to a Sense ROM before flashing a Sense kernel, would I brick my device or would the kernel just 'not work/disable itself'?

You would just soft brick and the phone would be stuck in boot loop. Why would you even try?

So if you are on CM10, how would you flash the Sense kernel and a Sense ROM? What would the order be?

First make a full wipe (factory reset, all that), then flash your rom using the typical procedures, then flash a sense kernel. Same goes for AOSP, make a full wipe if coming from another rom, flash the rom, then the kernel.

No this could be wrong. I am assuming OP is on 1.14 hboot. Older hboots allow you to flash kernels. With 1.14, kernels will not flash in recovery. Either use fastboot to flash kernels or use flash image GUI app found in the themes and apps section. After kernel is flashed then flash your ROM in recovery as normal.

Thanks folks. Just what I needed to know for future references.
What the other guy said is true, but that was actually what I was hinting at when I said "typical procedure." I'll be more specific next time... Also, your very welcome!

I have been using LG P500 from last 2 years. I have tried many custom ROM but now back to stock ROM.
Can anyone tell me how to use INT2EXT on this ROM, as I already tried flashing these scripts in recovery. But unfortunately none of it worked.

Does the stock rom have init.d support? If you look in system/etc is there an init.d folder?
As far as I know stock ROM doesn't come with init.d support
But you can use this app to add init.d support

You cannot run int2ext or link2SD on stock because the stock kernel doesn't support ext partition. Try using a custom kernel that supports ext partition .

If I had to flash a new kernel then the purpose of being on Stock ROM will diminish.
The purpose of being on stock ROM that there is no real bug in ROM and great battery life.
Is there any other mod which I can you besides flashing kernel?
I'll just combine the above posts because they're all incomplete.
First of all, you need busybox installed.
Install it from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsInN0ZXJpY3Nvbi5idXN5Ym94Il0.
Then, you need to add init.d support (this will enable running scripts on boot)
For this, you have to install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wyLDEsImNvbS5hbmRyb2d1aWRlLnBpbXAubXkucm9tIl0.
Then, you need a custom kernel like Candied kernel. And finally, you can flash INT2EXT.

İ want add custom kernel to my stock rom How can ı do that?(sorry for bad english)
Easy, since CWM doesn't support RFS file systems just use the Stock Recovery to flash the zip of the Kernel. But, make sure the kernel supports stock or stock-based roms before flashing it as it may damage your device if your not careful

Unfortunately one kernel fully compatible with custom rom doesn't exist!
As title says, is there any way to lock the CPU frequency? Or do i have to flash a custom kernel? No matter i set the frequency to my desired max freq, the CPU just don't stick. I used several apps like setcpu, voltage control and kernel tuner with no luck.. i even turned on the power saving mode to lower the CPU clock, but still it bypasses it. The thing is, I still don't have the guts to try that since i'm still S-On and a total newbie when it comes to rooting, s-off, supercid, et al..
Btw, my phone is HTC One S with viperROM 2.2.0, but i'm still on stock kernel..

Stock kernel doesn't allow changes in clockspeed afaik. So I guess you would need a different kernel and also root to actually give apps the rights to change these values in the first place.

So i guess that was it. To install a custom kernel. I just don't want to mess up with the kernel stuff just yet since i'm still new at this. By any chance, do you know if i've installed a custom kernel, can i go back to the stock one if things go haywire? One more thing, i can't find in the dev section on how to revert to stock kernel and where can i download it..

The stock kernel is included in the respective RUUs. You can flash it just like all other kernels to revert to your stock kernel.
Edit: Once you are s-off with a custom recovery you can just create a mirror image of your whole system before trying a new kernel. So when things go wrong or you're just not satisfied you can use the image to recover your system.
There should be a couple of good tutorials and tools around the forums to explain everything in detail and help you with technical difficulties.

One last question, i just created a nandroid backup, if ever in the future that problems arise after flashing a custom kernel, and then i restore the nandroid i just made, would the custom kernel be replaced by the kernel included in the nandroid backup? Or kernels aren't included in the backup?

They are, not it won't flash unless you are s-off. You need to fastboot the kernel (boot.img).
