[Q] What ever I do the phone boots into recovery.. - LG Optimus 3D

I was on paranoid 4.1.2 rom with ibluemind's latest cm10 kernel(3.3.2013.) and twrp 2.2.2.1 and I flashed the latest cm-10-20130303-NIGHTLY-p920.zip rom from here:
http://get.cm/?device=p920
I played around with it and when pushed my power button and choose "boot into recovery" the phone boots into recovery whatever I do!
I mean i tried to restore my backups and twrp finishes the proccess but the phone boots into recovery again. I flashed paranoidandroid, Darkroom v2 and xballs5.2 but it booted into recovery every time.
Then I reflashed wkparks 1.25a bootloader files, I reflashed twrp and tried but the result was the same.
After that I reflashed cwm...same.
Help please.

Hahahaha
Nope.
Edit:When I insert the battery it shows the grey LG logo and after that it goes to TWRP.
So I'm not holding any buttons...

This is a bug on wkparks 1.25 u-boot. You should never press the 'boot to recovery' from the power menu or you will end up in a recovery loop. The only thing to do now is to either reflash xbsa ics .bin from flashtool or 21e

I figured that out last night, I just couldn't stay still and wait for reply.
After 4h of trying everything that I could think of I reflashed ported xbsa ics, rooted, installed recovery and restored my twrp backup.
I didn't know about that bug..
Thanks

You can install kernel on recovery partition, boot, then reboot normal and install recovery again.
That is faster then flashing .bin.

With which command in fastboot?
Sent from my 3D phone.

Put boot.img to files folder then execute from fastboot:
fastboot flash recovery files\boot.img
Or open some kernel cwm zip and change updater script to install on partition 6 (recovery partition) boot.img is on partition 5.

[Q] i9023 and CWM don't want to get married!

HI Q&A FORUM! it's me (AGAIN)!
Tried to Flash CWM5 With Fastboot and worked;
Flashed Miui, then revert to Stock 2.3.4 and worked;
After a couple of days, want to install custom kernel, enter fastboot then recovery, appears a little android on center with a BIG Triangle of warning, the phone won't show CWM recovery menu. So open back cover and pull-off battery then re-insert it, but no way to enter CWM!
Tried also ROM Manager but it fails!
Help guys!
When you reverted to stock it will revert to stock recovery with every reboot unless you remove the file that causes it to. You need to flash clockwork through fastboot then use root explorer tto remove/rename that file.

You should be able to flash CWM recovery from stock recovery, at least that's stated there . You can try, if fastboot is not your thing ...

[Q] Problem with recovery after upgrade to ics

Hi,
My wife has upgrade I think the incorrect version of ics 4.0.3 stock because when I try to go to the recovery by press power button and volume up the system crash. It seems that the bootloader is of 9020 instead of her 9023.
So I can't root or install cyanogenmod 9.
Any solutions?
Thanks.

You can fastboot flash recovery.img again, then flash rom CM9. You can go to recovery.
I think rom stock can not flash recovery.

Try flashing a new recovery from the bootloader before you choose recovery.

TWRP for ics port could not boot to recovery...need help please....

I already try to reflash for almost 10 times and each and every time was unsuccessful to make the twrp working on my device...
anybody has any idea what went wrong?
i flash the ics port from xbsall currently using V21A baseband and root succesfuly using the guide from the development thread.
however once i install the p940 recovery and granted superuser it could never boot to recovery.
i did make the twrp successfully boot to recover and make a backup 2 days ago. but because i flash the wrong baseband and messed up with my imei i decided to reflash all over again.
and tough luck it never reboot to recovery ever since.
please help... i'm dying to try xbsall newest room with acid sound....
I am in the same situatiom.
If someone can provide alternative or manual way it will be great.
You habe to put you device in fastboot mode with omap4tools and type the fastboot.exe flash recovery \path\to\stockicsrecovery.img

Forget flashing Recovery partition if using ICS.
Specific TWRP/CWM recovery uses the 2nd init method and has nothing to do with recovery partition.
I have the same problem!
the installation of the .zip-file takes 2 sec.
it isn't normal for a size of 429 mb.
what's the problem
you can use the app that you used to install recovery to go in recovery mode,
3d+vol down+power doesnt work on me.

[Q] CWM Install on P500

Hi Friends,
Want to install an ICS ROM on my P500.
Rooted my device and installed ROM Manager on it.
Flashed it by selecting LG Optimus P 500.
After selecting recovery option, my device restarted and all the data was wiped out from my phone. (akin to factory reset).
Does not get into recovery mode at all.
I tried it 3 times and the same thing happened.
Seems flashing the device through ROM Manager does not work.
Any other way to do it!
Thanks!

Looks like you did the factory reset button combo. For recovery it is volume down + home + power.
And I recommend using amonra recovery

Actually,if there is no custom recovery installed, the same combo does a factory reset.
And the best way to flash recovery is this.
My recovery got corrupt due to which i had softbrick.
After all the searching.. THIS worked for me and is safe & easy!!
success
I was finally able to install CWM recovery 5.0.2.0 and flash my phone with JB ROM. :victory: :victory:
Now i have android version 4.1.1.

Wiped system, cant get to recovery

Hey all, i wiped my system in TWRP recovery and when i hold power, home, and vol down, i get to the TWRP splash screen but then i reboot. Any suggestions?
bump please help
So it will not boot into TWRP fully? How many times have you tried cuz if you rebooted accidentally after wiping system (I've done this), it takes a few tries.
Alternatively, you could Odin flash TWRP (file is in Open1your1eyes0 root thread) and try booting into TWRP then. This increments your flash counter.

No problem. You're saying its booting to the TWRP logo or booting to the Samsung logo? Just wanted to clarify.
Also, hold: power, home, and volume then once it boots release the power button. That seems to be the only way I can cold boot into recovery.

Yeah i hold home, power, and vol down, then it goes Samsung screen > Samsung Galaxy SIII screen > blue TWRP splash screen > reboot to system and freezes. And another thing, if i odin flash this TWRP, will it wipe internal storage by any chance? Its happened one too many times to me

Hmm, weird. What were you doing before which led to this?
Nope, it doesn't wipe internal storage. Just overwrites your recovery partition. When Odin reboots your phone, pull the battery then try booting straight to TWRP. If you still can't boot into recovery try the same steps but flash CWM, flash a rom, and then reinstall TWRP via GooManager.

Just flashed it and it still wouldn't fully boot TWRP. I'm about to try CWM now. What happened was i came from LiquidSmooth AOSP and I was ready to flash Hyperdrive Touchwiz so I wiped all the partitions and flashed the zip. The Aroma Installer froze before it started so i battery pulled and figured I'd retry. It wouldn't boot and now I'm where I am now.
