Justop K9B (mk809ii) bluetooth model - Android Stick & Console Computers General

Im just writing this little guide from my experience this week, for people thinking of buying or maybe installing a different rom, some of this is only my opinion, (take or leave it)
I bought this primarily to stream tv to our bedroom tv(netflix you tube etc)
Out the the box it works really well most of the time, but i found on some netflix films the picture was perfect but the sound, although lip synced perfectly it would mute for a second every now and again, making it too annoying to watch, ( for me anyway).
I decided to root it as ive read that this speeds the gadget up.
I didnt read up properly so rooted and installed the Finless 1.7 rom, this rom does not work with the 809b
it isnt designed for this so the wifi and bluetooth dont work at all.
You need to use the Finless 1.5 from here http://www.freaktab.com/
this rom works perfectly and the guide that you get with it works as well.( im a noob and managed)
I tried the film that gave me the most trouble on netflix and it played without a glitch.
I have a motorola atrix 4g bluetooth keyboard and mouse which ive tried, the mouse works as it should and stays paired without problem, but the keyboard doesnt stay paired and is a pain(this is the keyboard that is crap as i have the same problem when ive used it with other devices).
Im using a logitech wireless keyboard(dongle type not bluetooth) and that works perfectly.
This gadget could easily be used as a pc for a pc for googling etc, and if een more depending whether there is an app for the job you want.
The MK802iii remote client form the play store works great as a remote on your android phone(takes 10 minutes to get used to) but good for the bedroom as its lit so you can see the butttons at night.
I installed the Finless rom without shanging any of the settings, but then installed an app to lower the clock speed as it seemed to be getting a bit hot(lowered it to the 1272 option and it seems ok but ill be messing with it) search the play store for no-frills cpu control.
With youtube you need to install an older version so that you can get full screen http://www.androiddrawer.com/7215/download-youtube-4-1-47-app-apk/#.UTNzuGYYbJH
I havent tested any thing else yet but i think ill be trying the ps3 sixaxis app and controller.
The worst thing i the size of the thumbnails/shortcuts but i think a launcher like holo launcher from the market will sort that out.I think this might have something to do with the tv im using aswell.
Anybody who as any suggestions for apps that work well with this gadget id love to here
hope this helps somebody
edit- I think the sound problem was something to do with the hdmi in on the tv i was using so probably no need to root afterall-doh
edit- the sound started to play up after i changed the clock speed but after a couple of reboots it all seems fine.
Cheers Joe

I have the same stick. It came from amazon pre rooted, but Im not sure which rom it is.
My bluetooth keyboards dont work perfectly, so I use a 2.4 wireless dongle too.
My gallery app does not have folders for my picassa cloud photos. This is my biggest disappointment. Is this feature working with other roms?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app

hi, no my google plus and picasa dont sync back from the cloud to my gallery, Im not sure it works that way though, I just look at my photos in the cloud,-

it tells you what rom you are using at the bottom of the settings menu, about phone- build number-

[Q]Wiimote without root?

is this even possible? ive always rooted devices in the past, but with the hardware issues that some people are having, id rather not have to root my TF. is there any way to connect my datel bluetooth controller for use with emulators without rooting? really dont want to void my warranty.
thanks in advance.
erm.... I've got wiimote installed and its working fine with no root .....
how are you syncing it? i can find it in bluetooth, but 0000 and 1234 arent working to sync.
i was under the impression you need the wiimote app (which says it needs root right away)
I had that problem too. Dont sync it the built in bluetooth app. Just turn on bluetooth then try to sync in the app. It will auto see it and sync.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
The wiimote controller app does not require root. However, I don't think it works with 3rd party wiimotes. You need to buy an official Nintendo one. Also, there are a couple of different apps (there is a paid one). You should be using the free one in the link below. For some reason I can't find it on the market anymore.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=672884
used the link below and it worked great. that is a nice app without root.
and it worked like a charm with my datel retro wireless... being able to play emulator games and quake etc with a wireless controller is amazingly nice.
now i just wish i could find a true mame emulator that worked.
Hey guys I want to get the setup for the wiimote but want to make sure I know what I need. The threads I see with people using the Classic controller with the Wiimote are using 2 parts right? The wiimote + another controller that connects to the Wiimote? I've only used a Wii a couple of times so I'm not familiar with the setup.
And to confirm aftermarket Wiimotes are not working? You need a Nintendo one. I saw a nice aftermarket one in Frys but it didn't say anything about bluetooth but it was wireless.
TIA!
Anybody get it working with nesoid? Does the mapping have to be messed around with?
I gave up on nesoid and decided to try NES.emu .........it works awesome, has built in support for wii controller (however you still need wiimote) and it has full screen.
It is a paid app though.....

I got it to work last night. Map the buttons (select, start, B, A) through wiimote and you should be good. Playing Double Dragon 2 right now.

Philips Fidelio For android

I don't know if you have seen these, but finally someone has made some great speakers/dock stations for our android devices. I hope that these are just the first of many to come.
Philips Fidelio
It's Bluetooth, which means it's unreliable at best. And, of course, as everything that comes from Philips butt, it is about $50 overpriced for what it is.
But I am with you, given the absolute dearth of good speaker docks for android, it is tempting.
I have had the larger Philips fidelio speaker for about a month now and have no regrets! Bluetooth streams seamlessly and provide rich bass
Sent from my Triumph using XDA App
How well does the app work with it? Do you have any pics of it being docked?
The native app needs improvement but I use a third party app anyways
Sent from my Triumph using XDA App
which 3rd party apps do you use?
Got the clock radio round one and like it as a dock and speaker but the app leads to significant battery drain in standby when not charging
Interested in what app you are using as well. The Fidelio app is annoying trying to open every time I plug my phone in.

Got one for Christmas
Just thought that I would post and let you all know that I got the Philips AS851/37 Fidelio for Christmas. I love it. The sound is great, there are only two problems that I have with it so far, and only one of them is really a problem. First is that yes the Philis app sucks. Just use what ever audio programs you have been using and it works great. The second issue is that I love it so much I can't make up my mind which room of the house I want to keep it in. So I just move it around with me sometimes.
Did anyone of you find out the best apps to use with Fidelio? I got my new AS111 a few days ago. I really like the piece of hardware but the app is really crap.
Right now I'm testing Alarm Clock Plus which seems quite good so far.
One problem I'm having right now is that after a power outage here the clock on the device doesn't synk up again. I guess this is because I don't have the Fidelio app anymore, when I had it installed it wasn't any problem. If this is the case, does anyone know any other way to fix it than installing the Fidelio app?
/Daniel
Hi everyone ! Got one for my birthday, and I must say the excitement vanished quite quickly...
I'm spending a lot of enery trying to replace the Fidelio app, but so far without success.
I set the Fidelio (aka DockStation) alarm clock on "no sound" in order to let another third party alarm app play music, but the music keeps getting out in the smartphone speakers instead of the Fidelio's, and worse, I still get the forest birds ambiant sound ! I tried several alarm clock apps, even the Alarm Clock Plus mentionned above, none will let the sound go through bluetooth, although the media players are able to.
Does someone have any complete Bluetooth + Alarm combination working ?
Edit : forget what I said, I didn't go deep enough in the alarm apps options. There is one to use the music stream instead of the alarm stream when bluetooth on, and it was not activated by default. Works as a charm now.

Hey folks, I know, that this thread was long dead,
but because there was no solution in setting the clock on your fidelio device without using their app,
I created an App that does that. I tested it on my Nexus 7 with JB and on my Nexus 4 with KitKat and it works on both devices.
If someone needs it, try it and report if it works with other Fidelio devices as well.
Heres the Google Play Link: "Edit" sorry, Im not able to post links yet. My App is called Fidelio Time (de.fideltime.time)

[Q] Tun.ko question

Running a TF101 with kernel 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1 and Android 4.0.3. I recently installed Droid VPN and got it to connect just fine. Worked like a champ to use my netflix app from Kuwait. Before I would get the error "Not allowed in your country" now it loads just fine. Minus the fact its slow as ****. But that's another story. My question is, after installation of Droid VPN I cannot get my Splashtop HD to work like it use to. It would stream my desktop in real time to my Asus Transformer. Now it seems that it has about a 30 second delay and its only like one or two frames then off for another 30 seconds. Would the installation of Droid VPN have caused this? Also, I cannot find the Tun.ko file in my /lib/modules/ anywhere or even in the /lib/. Do i need to get one? Or does the transformer support it natively?
EDIT: Ok, after an hour of reading, its supported natively in ICS. So since it is supported, I have no need for a Tun.ko file. What could have caused my Splashtop HD issue?
What I have done to troubleshoot:
Turned off QOS on the router
Uninstalled Droid VPN from the Transformer
Rebooted Device
hey off topic sorry. but I had never heard of splash top. is it that great? I've tried xtralogic and teamviewer. both work. how's splash top in your opinion
The Droid VPN may have changed some network settings splashtop needs to function properly, it is a rather unique remote desktop app, not 100% sure though, if uninstalling it worked then great!
As to the above, splashtop is the best in my opinion, it has an amazing framerate, if you can get past some of the annoying bugs. Look it up xD

Its by far the fastest remote desktop app without sacrificing quality.
For example watching a 1080p video running on your PC through splashtop is no problem, it displays in perfect sync without any stutter.
Gaming is no problem either, except you cant play in full-screen. You have to set the game to window mode.
I do, however, miss a pinch-to-zoom feature. Running a windows desktop on a 10" screen makes it a little hard to click on small areas (If you use the touchscreen, obviously).
Do note, however, that your PC needs to be quite powerful for the best experience. Its quite CPU heavy. I got a Hexa-core though so Im good
The old asus mycloud version has pinch to zoom, and they're thinking about rereleasing it.. I actually use two splashtops, one for gaming and one for browsing and coding. The old mycloud version I use for browsing and coding as it supports holding down keys to send multiple keystrokes, and pinch-to-zoom. I use the newest one in the market for gaming as it FINALLY released mouse detection, so I can plug in a usb mouse or use the trackpad and it follows pretty reasonably, but they broke multiple keystrokes again so its annoying to type + impossible to play fps with.. still..
Also, 6 cores? What processor do you have to have 6, standard is 1 2 4 8 etc.. I'm guessing refurbed AMD or weird AMD?

I ordered one of these on the second cant wait tell it ships.
So it's almost 2 months later, anyone have any feedback on the SmartStick? I'm interested in a portable Google TV stick but the current reviews out there are mixed to say the least.

favi smart stick start up & initial impression
My pre order SS 4GB finally arrived today after a few delays. They did do some free upgrades due to the missed dates (Plex, USB charger, upgraded software)
I promptly plugged it in and got the start up screen wizard. the ir remote was not responsive at all. In fact, I had to unplug the USB charging and reset to get it working. Even after that, the remote has alot to be desired. Just a cheap piece of plastic, really. I am hoping I can program my Harmony One universal remote to work with it and/or someone will develop a wifi remote for the device. HINT HINT!
anyway, after the initial setup which was pretty painful using a combination of a directional tab for cursor and onscreen keyboard entry (I didnt order the wireless keyboard mouse as you may have guessed) I was able to set up my Google account and get a couple apps installed from the store.
I am pleasantly surprised that the device is configured like it is a phone, so the limitations of Google TV and other set top boxes are not there (I am happily listening to Spotify on my home system directly- not requiring my usual airplay form the iPhone or iPad.) I look forward to being able to essentially have all the apps on my GS3 that make sense set up on the TV.
Once I was able to get to the settings, I changed the display to 1080 (I would think they should default to the highest available...it is HDMI after all.
I will certainly report back after checking out how well it can stream the media from my server, but my first impression is that it has potential to connect media to the TV.
There needs to be a much better control setup as well as clear ways to set up screensavers.
UPDATE an hour later:
OK, so I am able to control the device with Google TV remote. no problem. The bugs in that app have been worked out well and it seems to work really well. its a free app, so perfect!
I like that I am able to hook up a camera and BAM! a nice Sype implementation using the big screen. Logitech Revue limited me to their proprietary Vid software. This plus Spotify make this a worthy purchase for me.
still wish I could have more control over the homescreen. I dont see how to clear up the screens and I am limited to a kind of MIUI look with all my apps listed and 2 spots for widgets. hmmmmm
Hi I just received my smartstick. Very pleased with android system but the remote is pain so I was looking
For some app for my SGS2 with which I can control smartstick. I found tablet remote which would be perfect
But!! When I run this app on stick it was telling me he cant register SDP record for com.tournesol.tabletremote
so it didn't worked.
My question is guys do you think it will be solved just by simply rooting stick? Is there a way how to safely root
Smart stick? Thx
Droidmote is what I've heard people use to remote control these Android TV sticks from their phone. It may be worth a try.
You can actually use Google TV remote as well.

Good review mate thanks for that
Just to let you know I use launcher pro (although you could use any of the launcher apps - most of which are free) downloaded from google play. This then creates a nice clean near stock interface to play with to your hearts content. If you have a big screen like mine you can jack up the columns and rows to 10 / 8 and have a nice big Spotify widget in the corner of the screen.
Worked for me anyways...best of luck!
I have the rooted OS installed as well as frodo 12 XBMC. It runs great. My only issue is with the Logitech Google TV keyboard which causes a bug when switching on XBMC for the first time. Otherwise this is a great alternative to turn a dumb TV into a smart TV and allow installation of all kinds of Android applications

I sure would love to. I will post a link when the Rom will be up. Pretty Soon I hope.
Just got a stick in today. Anyone else find that it's really slow to surf the web?
There anyway to force to landscape mode on apps? Tried installing dolphin browser but it stops at the setup/splash screen and i can't get past it w/ out rotating the app...grr
Would like to know if anyone else has started using any other ROMs? I'm curious if a tablet rom would be best.

You need to look very Closely on the Bottom of the screen very closely. I don't remember for a fact but the Skip Link is grey colored and not very easy to distinguish.
Changing the orientation won't help as then the link goes out of Screen.

i got it working. i barely noticed the small 3 grey dots at the bottom of the screen and was able to get it to scroll through them. then it finally went into the main browser window.
i really like the media stick, but flash just absolutely kills it. this thing could use to be a dual core at min but then i guess it wouldn't be $50

i have a Logitech revue

All of the threads for the Logitech revue are over 2 years old. I was wondering if there was any chance that anything will change or is this pretty much stick a fork in it everything that can or will be done with it is over...
I was wondering if something like aircast would help add some functionality to it or anything. I am thinking that replacing it with an oyua would be a better move i have also been thinking of getting a chromecast then plugging it into the logitech revue as it has hdmi and usb.
It regularly needs rebooting and netflix, pandora and many other apps are old old versions generally speaking it was nice at first and has grown to be annoying.

Don't give up hope on it just yet... I'd recommend installing Smart Memory Booster Pro and 1Tap Eraser Pro and then enabling this in Chrome err well disabling really: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Revue...Revue-To-Run-Faster-With-Improved/td-p/892324
^-----(2) I went to my Chrome settings - then Advance Settings - then Under The Hood - then Adobe Flash Storage Settings. From within the Adobe Flash Settings I went to Global Flash Storage Settings and unchecked the box that says "Store Common Flash Components To Reduce Download Times".
Several web sites that I go to wouldn't play the Flash Videos due to the way that the site interacts with the GTV Flash plug-in. Either I would get an error message or a spinning circle and the videos would never load. After I unchecked the box in my Flash settings (as I mentioned above) - all of the videos played good. I did some comparisons and I didn't notice videos or web pages loading any slower with that box unchecked - so I prefer to keep mine unchecked. Here's a link to an article that mentions this situation with Flash - and the article recommends the same solution (in step #5).)
Also a oldie but a goodie if ya haven't tried it yet is... Using PlayOn for Hulu Plus, Crackle and many more unsupported app's as well as installing Plex
I found these tricks the other day that I haven't tried yet post #4 and then on down: http://www.googletvforum.org/forum/...-run-faster-improved-stability.html#post36719.
