[Q] My phone hard bricked. :(

I connected my HTC ONE XL Phone to PC USB it was on CM 10.2 the display went grey to black and phone switched off,
Now its not working.
Its not switching on, even Charging LED not coming on charging the phone,
Phone won't boot, What can I do? Please someone share any thoughts. :crying: :crying::crying:

Could try holding down the power button + volume down for 30 seconds. See if any of the buttons light up.

what does it show when connected to pc ?
edit: if it shows Qualcomm hsdownload mode (qhdl) then your phone is hard bricked
2 possibilities : hard-bricked(corrupt partitions, fixable) , hard-bricked (fried chip/emmc, and not fixable without board replacement)

Nothing even after 6 hours of AC charging..

And it's definitely not showing up as anything in Device Manager on your pc? No QHSUSB_DLOAD?

Remove htc drivers, reboot the computer, reinstall htc drivers, reboot computer one more time. Now try connecting your htc to computer.
**if you don't have the HTC drivers installed, just install the htc drivers and reboot the computer, then try connecting your phone.
--You computer should detect the phone at this time.

Please find the image attached and guide me where will the phone appear?

Just an idea
This may be a long shot, but if you can't get it to boot at all and it doesn't even register, maybe take it back and try to exchange in on warranty. Granted might not work, just an idea though.

No, this drivers do not appear in Device Manager, only when device is connected.
You have to go to Control Panel, then Programs-Unistall a Program then look for something like HTC driver installer, then uninstall it.
If you don't have it, means you don't have the drivers on your pc.

Removed then reinstalled nothing happening. I think my Chipset burnt..

Try connect the phone to charger over night and then hold down the power button for a minute -- that's what worked for me.

[Q] HTC ONE S bricked

When i tried to root my HTC One S, it got bricked. At first, i could enter the bootloader menu. But now its refusing to power on. After holding down the power and volume down for 10 seconds, the screen just flickers. Anyone familiar with the problem?

try to charge your phone for 2 hours ! then try booting into bootloader again !
how are you rooting ?
did you unlock your bootloader at HTC Dev ?

Yes, i unlocked my bootloader at HTC dev. It was entering the bootloader menu at first. But now, there is no response from the phone. I even tried charging it overnight

i got same problem,,
in my case, if i connect my device to PC (win 8) orange led charger is on, and i check on device manager (other device) :
- QHSUSB_DLOAD
when i hold power button i cant find notification on device manager but "nothing happened"
Than if i release power button i got notif again :
- Qualcomm CDMA Tecnologies MSM
- USB DEVICE
than about 5 second back to :
- QHSUSB_DLOAD
again and again,, i have tired try to enter Fastboot with combine power button and volume (-) but i got nothing
please help before i buy a new device

ur phone seems to be bricked contact @Tecardo he will be able to help u fixing it via jtag

Has anyone had any experience with the authorised HTC service centers? I mean.. do they accept the phone if its not powering on.? and wil they fix it once they know i tried to root it?

HAHA, FUNNY STORY. I told HTC about whatever you said (i have the same thing that happened) and they told me to change the mainboard which costs more than a second hand One S :thumbup:

[Help!] Sensation XE JTAG

Hello,
I have a RIFF Box and an Adapter for sensation XE.
I tried to resurrect and rewrite all. I've tried once to do with s-off and once without. The flashing itself went straight, no log errors in riff.
However, the phone is still bricked upon assembling it. When I connect the phone to the PC via usb, it is still appearing as qhsusb_dload under device manager. (with riff driver it's named Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM16))
I've also tried this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775115 and everything went straight. The problem is, after I assembled the phone, it is not being charged or responding to entering hboot.

EDIT: I've tried few things, long story short: it was a hardware failure. I took my friend's old sensation xe which was bricked also and because his phone was in bad shape, I took only the motherboard, JTAGed it, and the magic happened. Everything works.

try with a different battery if you have
or charge the device without battery,sim and sdcard for 4-5 hours
put them back and try to switch on the device

Xperia L Bricked, EMMC DL TOOL HELP

I was upgrading my Xperia TO 5.1 and was flashing recovery. TWRP was flashed but I was not able to flash any zip through it.
I tried unlocking bootloader but nothing happened. I tried this 3-4 times and suddenly my Phone gone blank.
Now the condition is neither LED or any kind of vibration is working. Phone is detected as Qualcomm Qloader 9008. I tried figuring out and found that bootloader is corrupt. Many person having Snapdragon Chipset have same problem. I found EMMC DL Tool which can repair this but in version 5.2.0.r I am getting invalid user error.
Then I tried Tool studio EMMC tool from ZTE but I am getting error while downloading the Hex file. Phone is detected but unfortunately I am not able to fix it.
Please go through screenshot.
Someone please help me to fix. Either using this emmc tool or anyother.
P.S. Went to SC they said to replace MB which will cost around 6500-7500. But I don't think to spend such money for repairing when I can but much better phone in that price segment.

So, you cannot get into flashmode or fastboot? Power off your phone, hold volume up and plug it into your pc without hitting the power button. Do you get any blue led or quick led flash at all? I'm not sure about your device's condition but I can surely try getting you files from my phone.
Try installing flashtool and see if flashtool recognizes your phone at all.

Only red LED glows while I plug it in PC. Flashtool can not recognize. EMMC tool recognize but can't find/download the files.
I am pretty sure once I get the tool running it will bring back my phone alive.

Hmm, can QPST find your phone? I'm trying to get a QPST/QCN backup which could be helpful. However, fastboot, flashmode, recovery or device running, I get ports empty. Can anyone help me out here? I can try draining my battery so I have the little phase of the dull red led where the device won't power on until it's a little charged.

I guess yes, but I don't remember exactly. Switch off your phone and connect may be it should detect.

Tried that but it ends up turning on and goes to the charging animation. (Which is after the Sony Logo.) Waiting for my phone to drain

I unlocked it but the ROM zip was not flashing through TWRP. After 2-3 tries my phone went full dead. If you can help it will be great.

eh... if your device is showing loading anymation this means charger is loaded.... so no you dont have a hardbrick... try to reach fastbootmode over and over again

Just out of no where my sensation stopped powering on and doesn't display the led light when charging either.
It does not have water damage and wasn't dropped or anything.
This just happened out of no where.
Does anyone know what I should do or anyone else have this problem?
My ROM is cm-10-20131006-NIGHTLY-pyramid.
Please help me.
