I'm full of great idea's, but don't have the time to create them or learn the coding to create them. If you want to make one of my ideas a reality just message me and I will give you my idea as specific as possible.
ideas:
-launcher/lock screen
-line rider type game where you control the character
-2d fighting game like art of fighting for the SNES
-multiplayer fps where you create your own map with a creative mode (minecraft style)
-roller coaster tycoon style game
-many more!
Just message me which idea you want info on and I'll tell you!

Another question, which Rom is the most stable? Preferably a JB 4.1+

Do also note that anything JB for our phone currently doesn't include GPS. Anything released 4.2 for our phone doesn't include wifi or non-speaker audio. The devs have the audio issue fixed, but are waiting until they're happier with its state to post so that we, the teeming hordes/unwashed masses, don't pepper them with frustrating questions and ETA requests badly hidden as bug reports.
That being said, I'm still currently using PACman as my ROM and have since it was released. How can you not love Paranoid Android, AOKP, and CyanogenMod all rolled into one? Even without some of the niftier AOKP toggles or the ability to turn off the CRT-off, it's great.

Off Topic, Theraze what was that thing you posted before about removing GPS components to save battery life? I'd like to try that out to save some juice.
On-Topic, you should follow Lumins guide, they are the easiest and best ways to get from Stock Gingerbread to rooted with custom recovery Gingerbread.

What do you mean by this about GPS? I am running AOKP, used Pimp My Rom to install an updated GPS file and my GPS works better than it ever has. Gets GPS lock near instantly. Are you abbreviating something I am missing here?

AOKP is ICS not JB...
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app

Correct, as Cooptx says... we don't have, in the forum yet, any true JB AOKP. The only partial-JB AOKP is through PACman. The AOKP available is ICS AOKP, which does have working GPS. Unless you screw it up.
I find that the current Proton is less greedy for GPS connections than original was, but I still do eventually end up wiping out the connections because they aren't doing any good yet. Basically, after flashing, letting it soak in and taking care of all of that normal stuff, go to /system/lib/hw and remove the gps entry... think it's gps.goldfish.ro. If you're feeling vigilant, there's also a GPS bit in /system/vendor/lib/hw, but I can't remember the full name off the top of my head without caffeine in the morning. But it's one of only two files and the only one whose name begins with gps, so it shouldn't be hard to get the right one.
But the first one is the more important bit. If you're finding you have major battery usage going to GPS, on a kernel that doesn't support it.

Thanks Guys.......Duh, it was late. Not sure how I read JB to be ICS....I was obviously the one that needed the caffeine.

TDJ's Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20203147
FAQ AND Q&A THREAD FOR DIANXIN OS, ALL YOUR QUESTIONS GO HERE
Translation: 点心, when put together, in chinese means a small snack, something sweet usually, like the OS of Android (Eclair, froyo, Gingerbread). but in this case, we 点 and 心 are separated, it means literally "aimed for the heart". no, these developers aren't trying to kill you or anything
the meaning for "点心" in this ROM means that the ROM is aimed for YOU, how YOU want it to work. the purpose of the ROM is for YOU, the user to be happy.
Q: What is this ROM? it looks like MIUI.
A: this ROM, although it looks a bit similar, is NOT MIUI. it's a custom ROM made by the DianXin developers, check out their website.
Q: How to i flash this?
A: Just like any other ROM, instructions in the our original thread.
Q: Help! Wifi isn't working!
A: Well first of all, Calm down. then when you're all calm, go download TDJ's ICS BETA kernel and flash it.
Q: Why are there Chinese characters? how do i remove them?
A: This IS a ROM developed by Chinese developers, so expect there to be Chinese characters like MIUI. We are in the process of translating them.
Q: Odex or Deodex?
A: This ROM is Odexed
Q: I got an FC on a app
A: Run fix permissions, see if that fixes it. if not, report to OP.
Q: Custom kernels?
A: Yes, make a backup first.

OP HAS BEEN UPDATED!!
hope you guys all like DianXin!!!
I love this ROM! I love it so much that I joined XDA so that I could report my results but alas, I can't do that as a jr member so here I am in the wrong thread.
As we speak I am reverting to a backup of my daily driver (TDJ CM7) after playing with DX all day. I had some weird effects. After doing everything under the recovery sun (including trying both of TDJs GB and ICS kernels) I can't seem to fix these bugs. Here are a few:
LED notification not working. Only tested with SMS as I did not receive any calls today.
Home button not working (!!??). The long-press worked for recent apps then eventually that went away too somehow. I downloaded ADW launcher to see if it was the launcher but that didn't fix it. I had to press back back back to ever get back to the home screen.
Genius/search button does nothing. I couldn't find a setting to assign a command and it didn't come with one natively.
I have only been flashing for a few months now so these bugs may be my fault of course but I wanted to let you know about my first day of use even though I couldn't put it in the right forum!
Thanks again guys, I look forward to trying this bad boy again when the next bomb drops.

why are you in the wrong thread? in fact, you're in the perfectly right thread.
LED button "not working" fix: go to settings/display and uncheck "disable LED"
not sure about your home button, but i suggest you try flashing another ROM, and seeing if the button works there. because it's working fine for me, and my guess is that your buttons are starting to wear out...

Well I was trying to post in the ROM thread but can't because it's in the dev forum. They don't like noobs blowing up those kinds of serious thread, which I understand.
As soon as I flashed back to TDJ's kang all my buttons are working spendidly. I have no clue why DX is screwing them up but I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with restoring my apps and settings through Titanium. The home button quick press never worked but the long press did, and then I restored apps and some settings and that killed the long press. Search/genius might have been murdered in that process too because I have custom commands associated with the genius button that apparently can't transfer over.
Ah well I am too strapped for time to go for round 2 today (even though my crack flash addiction is itching to) so I will give her another try when the next release drops. The system updates was telling me that another release was available as of 2/23 so as soon as you guys port that update over I will be back for more

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

1. Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
2. Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
3. If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

what about the icons in settings?.will it be ok everytime i change the theme?anyway thanks rohan for a wonderful job
Only been playing for about 20 minutes and already love it. Either battery reporting is broken or I'm in for some phenomenal battery life. It hasn't dropped one % and I'm really hammering away setting everything up. Idk if this is a cm10 bug or not but led only blinks red for me.
Edit: light is fully functional, just took a reboot. Unfortunately battery life is looking to be right about what I was expecting from a jb rom. I slept for about 6 hours and it dropped 6%. I know 1% an hour isn't terrible but I've been spoiled by viper and king cobra, where I'd lose 1 maybe 2 % after 8 hours. Also, my battery held 100% for over 20 minutes of screen time then after began plummeting I love paranoid android so I'm making a nand now and will follow this thread closely. Thanks rohan!
nice.... downloaded and flashing now!
Looking forward to the development of this rom.

Did you build from source or use apktool? If you source built I would be more than happy to work with you
Also, anyone notice any issues so far? I don't use this ROM as my daily driver so I won't have much interaction with it.

Yeah. It happens all the time most people just bracket it with [REQUEST]. No biggie. This isn't gonna be a port though.

I dont know if this is been mentioned or if it is just me. But auto time zone does not work for me. None of the JB roms work properly in detecting the time zone. It could be me because ultrgen did this the lasttime I flashed it.

Auto time zone has not worked on any custom ROMs I have used. Never noticed, I just set it and moved on.

Auto-time has been irregular for me on ICS/JB... but I haven't been on GB for a while, and I think it happened there once too.
I think some towers aren't properly sending it, and when they 'update' my TZ, I end up on GMT. Then if I wait some more, I hit a different tower and get my normal PST back.
It COULD also have to do with fully disabling location services... if your phone is set to automatically update based on your location, and it doesn't know what your location is... bam! +-0.
But those would be my top 2 guesses for why it irregularly happens to me. Bad towers or disabling location services for battery.

I think that is the problem. Never even thought about that. Since gps is broken it wont work properly. I have a theory that even if wifi is on it wont update because it relies on gps. And this is because even after 10 hours it never updated.

man you really outdid yourself
Awesome I like the clean dark theming. Not trying to hi-jack here but, if anyone here can help me I am trying to make a ROM for the SGH-T959V and have been unsuccessful.
I want my own chosen custom apps (Boat browser, root browser, gingerbread keyboard, MX player and Mixzing.) with a dark theme and mod the 4 Icons on home screen dock, debloated and de-odexed with root and CWM Flashable when done. I also have my own boot animation I made and can add myself.
Some of the APKs i put inside my folder i replaced with default system APKs like Mixzing for music player.APK and MX player for Videos.APK they worked but others did not install like gingerbread keyboard.
Trying to figure it out for myself but most of the ROMs I find don't have the right directions for my phone or I don't find a file they tell me exists in specific directories of the Unzipped ROM itself. Like boot.img for instance. I'm just so sick of poking around looking through countless pages of these forums and things for my device and coming up empty handed or short of confidence in the persons ability to even type let alone procure a guide on how to make a whole system function.
I have the Kitchen installed as well as the Java and Android SDKs and ready to start over again as well if that is what it takes.
Help please. I will most certainly add this ROM to your Repository once done with this arduous task. If it helps I have 16 years PC repair and power user experience. So far from a noob, but far from expert in linux or ROM development. -Thanks, R4GN4R

Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button.
The entire framework of ChaOS has been modified around the theme engine, allowing for custom fonts, boot animations (with animated preview), and themes. No longer do you have to try to find the perfect theme, with Chameleon OS you can patch it together with your favorite pieces from different themes. Messaging, Phone, Status Bar, icons, everything can be set completely individually from each other which provides the capabilities to completely re-imagine your phone. Creating themes for the ChaOS Theme Engine is superbly simple and has extreme versatility.
Even with all of the features we've currently implemented, ChaOS will continue to mature with even more refined settings and features. We will be completely open source and will welcome developers to join us, whether it be by maintaining a device or utilizing our gerrit review. Even if you're not a developer, your voice will not go unheard. We will continually poll our users for the most wanted features and do our best to implement them.

Download 27 Sept 2013 Build
Installation process is the same as CM10.2, You must update the bootloader & modem files.
@eugene373 awesome, thanks for sharing! that had to be said loudly!
How good is this
Hey has anyone tried this? What are the pros and cons? Any glitches? I don't want to switch over until someone with just as many questions and uncertainties puts their own phone at risk so I don't have to.
I keed, I keed. Installing now, will report back.
Good so far
Clean install, booted up fine.
Having no problems so far, I'm currently spending my Monday morning at work playing around with the theme stuff. I have a thing for customizeable theme engines
Can report on battery life later, I don't expect it to be much different than CM 10.2.
Side note: I am one of those with the terrible CPU, screen wake glitch is exactly the same as 10.2, no better no worse. (I've gotten a good system down that when it doesn't wake, I double-press the power button, this turns it "off" (I know this because the softkey lights go off) and back on and the screen almost always comes on that second time).
Loaded, Crashed
It loaded for about a minute and crashed on the homescreen when I tried to drag an app.
I'm not sure if it's specific to that ROM as I've had the same problem with the 10.2 nightlies.

Dude, #apexqtmo, now.
@chaosprodigy This ROM is probably a frameworks replacement for CyanogenMod, meaning it may offer unique features and look, but its core is still CyanogenMod, ie it is not unexpected for the bugs to be the same. What @killkillkill means is instead of @eugene373 pretending he can fix your bug by himself, he should be working with us since he's essentially working with the same code.
I'm still waiting for the custom kernels to appear, as I've said many times, any customized d2 kernel should work for apex since they also all copy cm as a base.

1st. ChameleonOS is Open source based off CyanogenMod
2nd. I just stated I don't have this issue, I'm not back into Dev'n at all. Just wanted something on the Relay & currently in process of selling my House & buying a new one.
3rd. I'm not pretending to be doing anything??
4th. Just download the source & compile, & credit was given.
If there is anything else you would like to know, I'm unable to offer anymore info than that. I've stated what I did & why..
Sorry to step on toes.

I, personally, am enjoying the rom, though it seems a bit worse on battery life than the CM rom I was using, either way, thanks!

I tried to use this rom. It started and booted ok but did not have any google applications nor could i access google play or any kind of google accounts sync. Should i be uploading using a GAPPS along with it? which version if so?
Also, when i dragged apps onto my home screens the system would crash. I am running a nightly 10.2 right now. What do i need to do before installation?
Could you please provide a walk through with links to different packages which i need to install along with the ROM. Thanks!!!!

It's an Android 4.3 image based on CM 10.2, you'll need the same gapps package you installed for CM 10.2 to use Google Play Services.
No updates? Would like to try out some of the new features like the active display.

I switched off of this rom because my phone kept overheating, I believe I read on another thread that something was getting stuck due to a thermal daemon problem in the CM kernel... but I'd swap back if it updated to see if the problem repeated itself. Loved the ROM.
