TDJ's Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20203147
FAQ AND Q&A THREAD FOR DIANXIN OS, ALL YOUR QUESTIONS GO HERE
Translation: 点心, when put together, in chinese means a small snack, something sweet usually, like the OS of Android (Eclair, froyo, Gingerbread). but in this case, we 点 and 心 are separated, it means literally "aimed for the heart". no, these developers aren't trying to kill you or anything
the meaning for "点心" in this ROM means that the ROM is aimed for YOU, how YOU want it to work. the purpose of the ROM is for YOU, the user to be happy.
Q: What is this ROM? it looks like MIUI.
A: this ROM, although it looks a bit similar, is NOT MIUI. it's a custom ROM made by the DianXin developers, check out their website.
Q: How to i flash this?
A: Just like any other ROM, instructions in the our original thread.
Q: Help! Wifi isn't working!
A: Well first of all, Calm down. then when you're all calm, go download TDJ's ICS BETA kernel and flash it.
Q: Why are there Chinese characters? how do i remove them?
A: This IS a ROM developed by Chinese developers, so expect there to be Chinese characters like MIUI. We are in the process of translating them.
Q: Odex or Deodex?
A: This ROM is Odexed
Q: I got an FC on a app
A: Run fix permissions, see if that fixes it. if not, report to OP.
Q: Custom kernels?
A: Yes, make a backup first.

OP HAS BEEN UPDATED!!
hope you guys all like DianXin!!!
I love this ROM! I love it so much that I joined XDA so that I could report my results but alas, I can't do that as a jr member so here I am in the wrong thread.
As we speak I am reverting to a backup of my daily driver (TDJ CM7) after playing with DX all day. I had some weird effects. After doing everything under the recovery sun (including trying both of TDJs GB and ICS kernels) I can't seem to fix these bugs. Here are a few:
LED notification not working. Only tested with SMS as I did not receive any calls today.
Home button not working (!!??). The long-press worked for recent apps then eventually that went away too somehow. I downloaded ADW launcher to see if it was the launcher but that didn't fix it. I had to press back back back to ever get back to the home screen.
Genius/search button does nothing. I couldn't find a setting to assign a command and it didn't come with one natively.
I have only been flashing for a few months now so these bugs may be my fault of course but I wanted to let you know about my first day of use even though I couldn't put it in the right forum!
Thanks again guys, I look forward to trying this bad boy again when the next bomb drops.

why are you in the wrong thread? in fact, you're in the perfectly right thread.
LED button "not working" fix: go to settings/display and uncheck "disable LED"
not sure about your home button, but i suggest you try flashing another ROM, and seeing if the button works there. because it's working fine for me, and my guess is that your buttons are starting to wear out...

Well I was trying to post in the ROM thread but can't because it's in the dev forum. They don't like noobs blowing up those kinds of serious thread, which I understand.
As soon as I flashed back to TDJ's kang all my buttons are working spendidly. I have no clue why DX is screwing them up but I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with restoring my apps and settings through Titanium. The home button quick press never worked but the long press did, and then I restored apps and some settings and that killed the long press. Search/genius might have been murdered in that process too because I have custom commands associated with the genius button that apparently can't transfer over.
Ah well I am too strapped for time to go for round 2 today (even though my crack flash addiction is itching to) so I will give her another try when the next release drops. The system updates was telling me that another release was available as of 2/23 so as soon as you guys port that update over I will be back for more

With MYN's assistance and encouragement I've been toying with Release 5. So far I've got a Semi-transparent Lockbar and a Clear Lockbar.
I'm working on different colored Semi's and then onto Status Bars and more...
I'd LOVE feedback, and will take requests (in the true spirit of MYN's work). PLEASE POST PICS!!!!
Flash as you would any flashable zip. Make sure you do a Nandroid, (or any Backup) first, as I am not responsible if you bork your set-up, or brick your phone, or run over your dog as you angrily back out of the driveway, or get caught cutting heads off your sister's Barbies so you can send them to me in protest, or...well, you get the point...BACK UP FIRST.
Have at it!!!!
EDIT 1/13/11 - Well, timing is everything, and mine evidently sucks. It turns out it wasn't bad-sushi-poisoning, it was something I never heard of: acute diverticulitis, an insanely painful stomach malady. I'm waaaay too drugged (mmmmm, Dilaudid) to morph anything but what's in my imagination... Hopefully, I'll be better after a few more days on some intense antibiotics, and will get back to work...although it seems like an awful lot of you are becoming NinjaMorph experts in my absence (I'm reading the threads, just not participating as I don't wanna screw up anyone else's phone!!)

A much needed mod for RLS 5
Thanks again for your contributions to XDA
nice, any chance you can up some screens of these mods?
This being a theme modification, this post belongs in the Themes/Apps section. Myn can then post a link to "YAMM" (Yet another Myn Modification) in his main ROM post, as he has many many links there already.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate any/all contributions, small and big alike, including this one, but organization is important to this Forum as well

As they're based on the raw (virgin) ROM, they should not interfere at all.
But you get to be first!!!
Post your comments (especially if it doesn't work) and pic please!!

I can post pics when I get home but I downloaded the clear lockscreen and I have some black/black issues that (I think) Rujelus has fixed. The pop-ups when you press menu from the home screen, from the browser and long pressing a post on the XDA app are what I've noticed so far. It would be great if your mods would work with his.

First, if you can confirm that those were fixed, and the lockscreen mod reverted them, that'd be great.
If so, one last test...can you try flashing the clear lockscreen first, then the fixed GB keyboard? I know there's some "brain-damage" involved in doing a restore to stock, then flashing this stuff, but you'd be helping me, and the whole Warm community.
I think, because my stuff's based on a virgin install of the ROM, if you flash mine first, everything else should work. But any input you can provide would be a MAJOR help.
Thanks!!

I would be honored to be your crash dummy. I've gleaned so much from you guys on Myn's thread I would jump ay a chance to give back.
First, when I nan'd back, all the menus were fixed.
But I haven't flashed a keyboard of any kind. Just the MynMod from that thread I linked. Would you want me to flash Myn5, flash your mod and then flash his? If so. I wouldn't need to wipe data, correct?
Edit: Let's make it test dummy instead.

Awesome, thanks! (And for this you'll get a custom service of your choosing...like putting your name in your lock and status bar).
Back up your exisiting set-up.
Use Calk's Format All, (the best and easiest way to wipe everything), flash the rom, check menus and keyboards. They should all stay/look perfectly stock. If they do...
Flash my clear lockbar, reboot, check all menus and keyboards. They should all still look stock.
At this point do another back up, so you have 1 clean virgin and 1 clean with clear lockbar. (hope you have a 16+ SD card, if not, just dump the backups on your computer).
Then install the GB menu. Check all menus and keyboards, and also, please check for the weird timecode issues in SMS.
Report your findings.
And a quick recommendation: there's an awesome app in the market, PicMe. It loads your active phone screens into your browser (change a screen on the phone, hit F5 on your browser, VOILA) so you can take and store PNGs right to the computer. I use it A LOT. It's a semi-painful extra step, but documenting each step with a few pics would be AMAZING....
THANKS!!!! And feel free to PM me if you have any questions....
Is it possible if you can make a semi transparent lockbar that is straight besides the arched on?
OK here it goes... followed instructions
Naked Myn rls5
With your mod - Clear Lockscreen

well i heard many people saying 10$ replacement plan from bestbuy sucks and its not replaced, its sent to repair and then you get a new one if that one haves no way of repairing. Well, I was told "anything that happens with it, you get new one ootb in the spot. So thats why i bought it. Mines got smashed and fu+ked in ways you could not imagine and i got 1 new with no questions asked
and yes i dont speak english and NO, I got it replaced outside of us. Maybe it is only us who try to repair it
Looking forward to seeing some screen shots.
Also would like to know if you are using CM7, and if so, which build? Is 4G working?

i started doing this a little differently recently. instead of nightly builds, i occasionally tweet about pre-release test build. i upload a build, give the link out on irc and then take the link down in half an hour or so. follow me on twitter and youll get those updates.
gapps don't work for custom build?
I downloaded both of the builds. The stock one and the custom one. When I downloaded the stock one my gapps worked just fine. Then I tried the custom one for the God mode so I can change my battery to saying the number. One thing I foundout was that when I installed it my gapps installed but wont work. It might be the wrong one for it.
i also had issues with gapps.
1. wiped everything
2. flashed omfgb and gapps
3. booted
4. market doesn't open
5. no google account option under accounts and sync
im going to have to look into my google apps package, but for now grab the once off rom manager or cyanogens site.
Ooh a piece of candy..

I think that may be a CM10 bug. Im on SlimBean 2.6 and have the same issue. Not just with screenshots but any picture sent via mms. On my end it will be clear as a bell but when I send MMS it gets all blurry and crappy looking.
Just loaded V4 on my TF700 yesterday. I'll have to give this a shot on the phone later today.
I saw this on RootzWiki and was wondering when this great rom would show up on XDA. Thanks!
I see there is a rom for the Samsung 7.1. Anything for the Galaxy tab 10.1?

Yes. If you go into a call and turn
The volume up all the way, and then down it will work.

This rom is pretty quick and OMG finally the option to turn the back light off for the menu and back button stick after reboot! Only option I want that this doesn't have is the option to remap the hardware buttons unless I'm not finding it anywhere.
Please excuse my SGS3, it's a bit Paranoid.

It's there, under the baked options. I think it even says hardware as the menu option.
This is a really interesting build. Not sure why I didn't try this earlier, the S3 looks fantastic showing blacks! One small thing, you guys need to make the whole gapps thing easier. It's confusing on the site, and I had to follow other links to get parts and install things separately etc. It does a disservice to showing off part of what's so beautiful about your work.
Thanks!

Yeah. It happens all the time most people just bracket it with [REQUEST]. No biggie. This isn't gonna be a port though.

So does that mean a PACMAN build from scratch is in progress??

The confidentiality agreement I had to sign before becoming a member of TEAM whateverthehellwe'recallinourselvesnow keeps me from legally being able to answer that. lol Since I can't seem to play by the rules the answer is yes. Wait for it. It won't be long.
(insert butt kissing statement here) (insert not obvious request to test here) *realize that you don't have a data plan and won't be too helpful testing now* (ask anyways)
Great job man I knew you were the bomb. Need any help? I don't have data.... Oh wells I can try to find some bugs if you want me too.

I dont know if this is been mentioned or if it is just me. But auto time zone does not work for me. None of the JB roms work properly in detecting the time zone. It could be me because ultrgen did this the lasttime I flashed it.

Auto time zone has not worked on any custom ROMs I have used. Never noticed, I just set it and moved on.

Auto-time has been irregular for me on ICS/JB... but I haven't been on GB for a while, and I think it happened there once too.
I think some towers aren't properly sending it, and when they 'update' my TZ, I end up on GMT. Then if I wait some more, I hit a different tower and get my normal PST back.
It COULD also have to do with fully disabling location services... if your phone is set to automatically update based on your location, and it doesn't know what your location is... bam! +-0.
But those would be my top 2 guesses for why it irregularly happens to me. Bad towers or disabling location services for battery.

I think that is the problem. Never even thought about that. Since gps is broken it wont work properly. I have a theory that even if wifi is on it wont update because it relies on gps. And this is because even after 10 hours it never updated.

man you really outdid yourself
Awesome I like the clean dark theming. Not trying to hi-jack here but, if anyone here can help me I am trying to make a ROM for the SGH-T959V and have been unsuccessful.
I want my own chosen custom apps (Boat browser, root browser, gingerbread keyboard, MX player and Mixzing.) with a dark theme and mod the 4 Icons on home screen dock, debloated and de-odexed with root and CWM Flashable when done. I also have my own boot animation I made and can add myself.
Some of the APKs i put inside my folder i replaced with default system APKs like Mixzing for music player.APK and MX player for Videos.APK they worked but others did not install like gingerbread keyboard.
Trying to figure it out for myself but most of the ROMs I find don't have the right directions for my phone or I don't find a file they tell me exists in specific directories of the Unzipped ROM itself. Like boot.img for instance. I'm just so sick of poking around looking through countless pages of these forums and things for my device and coming up empty handed or short of confidence in the persons ability to even type let alone procure a guide on how to make a whole system function.
I have the Kitchen installed as well as the Java and Android SDKs and ready to start over again as well if that is what it takes.
Help please. I will most certainly add this ROM to your Repository once done with this arduous task. If it helps I have 16 years PC repair and power user experience. So far from a noob, but far from expert in linux or ROM development. -Thanks, R4GN4R
I have a galaxy s 4g. And want to know the simplest method to rooting. I have a rooted s2 and all I did was go to odin and flash cwm and su.zip. same method?

I'm full of great idea's, but don't have the time to create them or learn the coding to create them. If you want to make one of my ideas a reality just message me and I will give you my idea as specific as possible.
ideas:
-launcher/lock screen
-line rider type game where you control the character
-2d fighting game like art of fighting for the SNES
-multiplayer fps where you create your own map with a creative mode (minecraft style)
-roller coaster tycoon style game
-many more!
Just message me which idea you want info on and I'll tell you!

Another question, which Rom is the most stable? Preferably a JB 4.1+

Do also note that anything JB for our phone currently doesn't include GPS. Anything released 4.2 for our phone doesn't include wifi or non-speaker audio. The devs have the audio issue fixed, but are waiting until they're happier with its state to post so that we, the teeming hordes/unwashed masses, don't pepper them with frustrating questions and ETA requests badly hidden as bug reports.
That being said, I'm still currently using PACman as my ROM and have since it was released. How can you not love Paranoid Android, AOKP, and CyanogenMod all rolled into one? Even without some of the niftier AOKP toggles or the ability to turn off the CRT-off, it's great.

Off Topic, Theraze what was that thing you posted before about removing GPS components to save battery life? I'd like to try that out to save some juice.
On-Topic, you should follow Lumins guide, they are the easiest and best ways to get from Stock Gingerbread to rooted with custom recovery Gingerbread.

What do you mean by this about GPS? I am running AOKP, used Pimp My Rom to install an updated GPS file and my GPS works better than it ever has. Gets GPS lock near instantly. Are you abbreviating something I am missing here?
AOKP is ICS not JB...
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Correct, as Cooptx says... we don't have, in the forum yet, any true JB AOKP. The only partial-JB AOKP is through PACman. The AOKP available is ICS AOKP, which does have working GPS. Unless you screw it up.
I find that the current Proton is less greedy for GPS connections than original was, but I still do eventually end up wiping out the connections because they aren't doing any good yet. Basically, after flashing, letting it soak in and taking care of all of that normal stuff, go to /system/lib/hw and remove the gps entry... think it's gps.goldfish.ro. If you're feeling vigilant, there's also a GPS bit in /system/vendor/lib/hw, but I can't remember the full name off the top of my head without caffeine in the morning. But it's one of only two files and the only one whose name begins with gps, so it shouldn't be hard to get the right one.
But the first one is the more important bit. If you're finding you have major battery usage going to GPS, on a kernel that doesn't support it.
Thanks Guys.......Duh, it was late. Not sure how I read JB to be ICS....I was obviously the one that needed the caffeine.

Yeah... except that most of our current Fah-Q roms don't give us TWRP anymore. But yep, those were the directions.
