Only the kernel thats in miui can be used to run miui. If ur on froyo and u want to install miui I believe all u have to do is be rooted, change recovery to e3 modded recovery, install cwm. After that boot into recovery. If its ur 1st time booting into recovery you'll have to select reinstall packages two times then it will boot into green recovery. Do a backup then wipe data/factory reset, and wipe dalvik cache. Then flash miui. Restart ur phone it will get stuck at the Samsung boot screen. Pull the battery. Start ur phone holding both volume buttons until the buttons on the bottom of the phone light up and let go. U shud boot into blue recovery now and then reflash the rom reset and bam! Miui goodness! I would use SMS backup to backup ur texts and backup ur contacts onto ur SD just in case. I would say backup ur apps with titanium backup but I don't believe that you will be able to restore those app without manger problems. I'm unsure of that tho. I believe that's all right. U should checkout one of the miui threads and they'll tell you everything u need to know. Plus it'll stop other people on here from getting mad that u didn't read. But im a nice guy and I'm just letting you know. Also Galents update to miui is coming out today get it from their website!

Hi everyone, I have S-on still, I am wondering if I can pull the boot.img from a kernel of a rom and move somewhere to my sdcard if I wanted to flash a rom that doesnt have this built in to it...the reason I am asking is because alot of downtime at work and sometimes I want to tinker with other roms, but since I have hboot 1.27 most of the roms need the boot.img pushed, and I cant install software to do this on my work computer....If it can be done on the phone by using ES file explorer or something similar, can someone guid me on where to put the boot.img...i believe on the root of sd?....just curious here....thanks much...Larry

if you use 4ext recovery with s-on smart flash enabled it will flash the bootimg after it installs the rom i believe, so no need to manually flash the boot img. is this what you mean?

Yes.. Wait for 10 minutes max.. If it's not booting then.. You need to flash boot.img of the rom seperately from fastboot but that process requires pc access.. Or try this.. If not booted.. Go to recovery again.. Then enable smartflash again and immediately flash the rom.. Without doing any wipe.. This might work

are you 100% sure smart flash is enabled? when you flash some roms like arhd it flashes a new 4ext as well i think.
if you do then im not 100% sure on how to proceed. have you thought about just going full s-off? once you have it you dont need to flash the bootimg afterwards

yeah, I enable it, and then immediately flash the rom zip...this time it didnt get stuck at htc white screen, but flickered, and then went back into 4ext recovery....hmmm....S-off I havent done yet mainly because the wire trick thing...seems very confusing to me...lol

hmmm. what version of 4ext are you on? stable or beta?
I personally s-0ffed before the wire trick came about so i have not had to do it, but many people seem to get the hang of it easily enough, maybe worth a try. and if you cant get to grips with it we will try find another way to help?
Flash another Rom with wipe
Then flash elegancia again with default wipe option within recovery everything except sd card reboot and wait

This is normal for Smart Flash, the device will boot to the splash screen then flash the boot.I mg then reboot again but all the way nto the ROM on the second reboot. Also I know you can flash splashscreens and recoveries via Terminal Emulator but I am not sure about the boot.img. From what I am do know about Android I am thinking you probably can not but it is worth a Google search.
Ok, so I downloaded the Elegancia Pegasus, I went into 4ext recovery, did a super wipe, turned on smart flash, installed the rom zip, did not reboot but enabled smart flash again, and then installed the rom again..(reason for this was I was thinking maybe it installed a new 4ext)..I really dont think it did though, but still stuck at the white htc screen...I may have to just do this from a computer...weird thing is that Elegancia sense 4.x 3.1.0 flashes just fine, but i imagine thats because that Boot.img is not getting written over by the pegasus one..any other ideas?...the ext recovery I am using is the stable most current release btw..thanks everyone...Dirtylarry

indeed, but he can do that at home with His pc then he will be able to flash any rom he likes without the need of smartflash. thus solving his problem and allowing him to flash roms at work when he has some spare time allowing he already has the roms with him, or he can still download
I really need help here guys. I am rooting my friends HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) and I think i might have broken the OS.
I can still get into recovery mode and flash, but my ROMs crash as soon as I boot. The phone even runs into a boot loop sometimes depending on which ROM. Can anybody guide me to bring the phone back to stock? I would GREATLY appreciate it.

I rooted the phone, installed supersu (fine up until now) .. Created a backup via CWM and tried to flash Cyanogen mod. I realized it failed and so i went back to wipe (factory reset, cache, and dalvik cache) and went to restore my backup. The back up passes but is not 100% working due to some missing files in the system. I am also running HBOOT - 1.17.1111

Yes, it say's S-OFF at the top. I also already used revolutionary to achieve S-OFF and get CWM... Now what? I still can't do anything.. Do i flash ICS? What ROM do you recommend? Please, show me steps if that is possible.

That should get your phone running again.
Then, I gave you a link to a guide which will install 4 EXT recovery, update your firmware and radio, and install ARHD ICS ROM.
Please read the link carefully, and follow it to the letter.

I don't know if this is too much to ask, but would anybody mind assisting me through a google hangouts video chat? I could do it tomorrow at about 4PM. I really need to get this fixed.... Like bad.

I flashed the Jellybam-evita-aopk from one post on the htc one x at&t development it said that you had to wipe the system from recovery i did and i wiped everything i did a factory reset and i when it finished to flash when i enter it just sits there on the jellybam bootscreen where an android goes flying in a rocket .. anyone know how do it stop this?
Sorry for my grammar and stuff i dont know so much english .
When I flashed jellybam it took about 3 to 5 min to boot up. And the rocket ship boot screen would flash a white screen. It did eventually boot up though. Sounds like you doing everything right though.

I was having the same issue, but once you flash the boot.img it should take care of it. I'd be interested to hear if you have any issues when you reboot the phone to see if it gets stuck on a boot loop.
Hi everyone.
I have a TMOUS HTC One S (S4, mentioning because of some crazy people). I tried to install CyanogenMod 10 on it, but it fails. It just starts the splash screen.
Normally, I would flash an RUU, but now, the CID is HTC__001, and the Modelid PJ4011000. I am not allowed to install both European ROM and the stock TMOUS one. Oh, and to make things worse, it is relocked. Can someone help me, please???

Unlock it, install custom recovery if you dont have it already, reflash the rom, fastboot flash the boot.img and it should start just fine.
Remember to wipe /system/, /data/, cache and dalvik-cache. Edit: Before you flash the rom, obviously.
