Stuck at bootscreen ... - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I flashed the Jellybam-evita-aopk from one post on the htc one x at&t development it said that you had to wipe the system from recovery i did and i wiped everything i did a factory reset and i when it finished to flash when i enter it just sits there on the jellybam bootscreen where an android goes flying in a rocket .. anyone know how do it stop this?
Sorry for my grammar and stuff i dont know so much english .

When I flashed jellybam it took about 3 to 5 min to boot up. And the rocket ship boot screen would flash a white screen. It did eventually boot up though. Sounds like you doing everything right though.

Hope this helps. I know some jb ROMs are having boot issues if you have a rev-b on your box. No clue what that means though.

I was having the same issue, but once you flash the boot.img it should take care of it. I'd be interested to hear if you have any issues when you reboot the phone to see if it gets stuck on a boot loop.

[Q] Stuck at the first boot screen with red text. Please HELP!

I have a rooted and newly unlocked AT&T HTC One X. I tried to flash Cyanogenmod 9 on it and it now freezes on boot. What should I do? The fastboot commands work. I used the fastboot boot boot.img to make this problem, then I tried recovery and it doesnt work.
Any and all advice would help me. Thanks.
damn man. you didn't make a backup? try running the RUU back to stock. As long as you can boot into fastboot you are good. don't panic.
did you try and install the international one x cm9?
I have tried that and it doesnt work it crashes and goes into so on screen recovery instructions that suck.
All I did was a fastboot boot boot.img I didnt flash it in recovery.
I think I need a stock boot.img to load up or the one from CleanROM 1.0, because that is what was on there.

Can I install a boot.img within phone?

Hi everyone, I have S-on still, I am wondering if I can pull the boot.img from a kernel of a rom and move somewhere to my sdcard if I wanted to flash a rom that doesnt have this built in to it...the reason I am asking is because alot of downtime at work and sometimes I want to tinker with other roms, but since I have hboot 1.27 most of the roms need the boot.img pushed, and I cant install software to do this on my work computer....If it can be done on the phone by using ES file explorer or something similar, can someone guid me on where to put the boot.img...i believe on the root of sd?....just curious here....thanks much...Larry

if you use 4ext recovery with s-on smart flash enabled it will flash the bootimg after it installs the rom i believe, so no need to manually flash the boot img. is this what you mean?

Yes.. Wait for 10 minutes max.. If it's not booting then.. You need to flash boot.img of the rom seperately from fastboot but that process requires pc access.. Or try this.. If not booted.. Go to recovery again.. Then enable smartflash again and immediately flash the rom.. Without doing any wipe.. This might work

are you 100% sure smart flash is enabled? when you flash some roms like arhd it flashes a new 4ext as well i think.
if you do then im not 100% sure on how to proceed. have you thought about just going full s-off? once you have it you dont need to flash the bootimg afterwards

This is normal for Smart Flash, the device will boot to the splash screen then flash the boot.I mg then reboot again but all the way nto the ROM on the second reboot. Also I know you can flash splashscreens and recoveries via Terminal Emulator but I am not sure about the boot.img. From what I am do know about Android I am thinking you probably can not but it is worth a Google search.
Ok, so I downloaded the Elegancia Pegasus, I went into 4ext recovery, did a super wipe, turned on smart flash, installed the rom zip, did not reboot but enabled smart flash again, and then installed the rom again..(reason for this was I was thinking maybe it installed a new 4ext)..I really dont think it did though, but still stuck at the white htc screen...I may have to just do this from a computer...weird thing is that Elegancia sense 4.x 3.1.0 flashes just fine, but i imagine thats because that Boot.img is not getting written over by the pegasus one..any other ideas?...the ext recovery I am using is the stable most current release btw..thanks everyone...Dirtylarry

If your phone still boots up but stops, you should be okay. Just find a ROM for the HOXL and reflash (flashing the kernel through fastboot), and you should be okay.
And on Thursday, be thankful you didn't flash something else like IceColdJelly, or you would have hard-bricked.

Until you downgrade your hboot you have to manually flash the kernel for each Rom... This is done through fastboot... In bootloader mode you'll see something called fastboot ...go into that now on your comp make sure you fastboot .exe file and others are in same and open up command prompt and type " fastboot flash boot.IMG or whatever you named the boot IMG you have to extract it from the Rom....others can give you more detail on it

Do you have the HTC drivers on your computer? You can't do anything until you do because your computer won't recognize it.
If you can get into bootloader, you're not bricked. It's just a matter of getting the right rom back on there.

Well, I've got TWRP back and I went back and installed Phandroid, Now I'm going to figure out this fast boot ****, So I can get past the boot loop so I atleast have a phone
hold power+volume down till the lights stop blinking, then releasing power button while still holding volume down. That should get you to boot loader no matter what state its in.. Once you hit the white screen with skating droids, make sure it says "fast boot USB".
If you have adb and fastboot installed on your computer, you need to take the boot.img out of this rom, and drop it into your adb folder.
Right click on your adb folder, choose "open command prompt here"
Type fastboot flash boot boot.img
Once successful, immediately choose recovery in boot loader. Proceed to install rom zip and respective gapps if necessary

Hi all,

Ive heard restoring a RUU can cure it but I have a MAC and cant find anything to help.

Ive got an S4 on the three network.
Thanks
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds then after the touch buttons stop flashing, just hold the volume button and see if ot enters the bootloader.

Htc One S bricked
Hi im relatively new at rooting and am currently experiencing issues with a bricked device.
i have two htc one s devices
my personal one is running cm10 ville with clockwork touch recovery and is working perfectly
however the second one i was using the same exact files.
this one is bricked
its in a constant bootloop.
i can get back to my recovery just fine and get to the fastboot in the phone fine
i cleared my cache
wiped my data and wiped the dalvik cache all perfectly fine when i try to flash the cm10 official rom back on it cannot mount the sd card
i would try to install a different recovery and try again maybe using viper one s
but i cannot get the phone to power on
it doesnt showup on the computer when it is plugged in while in fastboot
when i try the cmd fastboot flash recovery it says waiting for device
any advice. this is not my own phone so i need it repaired pretty quickly.
any helpful information would be much appreciated.

This little post just pulled me out of missery. Love ya man!
all you guys getting sorted
make a nandroid and sdcard bu NOW and put them on pc,
obviously leave a copy of nandroid on phone also
makes it a lot easier if you get in trouble again
and you/we will
Mounts and Storage --> Format everything --> Now Mount USB Drive --> Put Gapps and ROM
Flash it, erase cache & and Dalvik...Blah blah blah. Flash boot.img in fastboot, and there you go.
Everybody, please remember this and there won't be noob q&a anymore...

booting issue

I am on CM10 10-20130210 nightly and every time I reboot or turn power off then back on my phone gets stuck on the CM boot animation.
I then have to re flash boot.img and all works fine.
Anyone know why this might be?
No love?

I am on CM10 10-20130210 nightly and every time I reboot or turn power off then back on my phone gets stuck on the CM boot animation.
I then have to re flash boot.img and all works fine.

I did a complete wipe and system. I am on h boot 1.14.004 S-on, but I thought that was the case till we got true s-off, which I see we just did.
The kernel is the boot.img file right?
Yes it is.
Hum, wonder whats going on then...
Yes, its weird you have to reflash it everytime you restart. Maybe try another rom? Or a later nightly at least.
