[Q] Everest = Hubble ? - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i own a MZ605 (umts_hubble) and i want to try the EOS4 ROM.
my question is which one should i install? as there is no "umts_hubble" ones
should i use the umts_everest zip?
i really dont care for the 3G as i have no operator.

I'm guessing you have a Brazilian version, so i do believe Everest builds will work.
On the other hand, if you have no data provider at the moment wingray should work as well, but with no support for your data radio.

Hi,
MZ605 is the Brazilian Xoom, and I'm Brazilian as well So I have this one! I can confirm to you that if you use any everest ROM it will work fine with data, and everything else working. I don't know why, but as I learned MZ605 = MZ601, so why to put different names and send different updates?! Anyway. Yea Everest = Hubble.

Thank, i will be trying it soon

[Q] EU MZ604 - XOOM with Wi-Fi possible to flash a stock US Rom?

Hey guys,
Current have a stock 3.01 Xoom in the UK.
EU MZ604 - XOOM with Wi-Fi
Is it possible to flash a stock US Rom?
so basically
1). Unlock device.
2). Download US stock 3.1 from mortorola site
3). complete install and that is it?
or
Is that to simple and will brick my Device?
The reason behind this is i want this device to be 3.1 and the google experience and with no clear update time for the 3.1 in the UK and this model not being a 3g i think this would benifit me best??
Thanks.
tomashley90
Yep I did it today with no probs. Check post 7 in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1093112
I wanted root and tiamat so did everything but the language pack stuff but if you're not interested in rooting just do up to step 3.
Oh and do not relock your device eventhough it says to on the moto site.

Thanks for the reply mate will crack on with this tomorrow and let you know how I got on. How you finding it? Was it worth it

It's great having SD but more important to me was USB host and ability for nandroid and titanium backups. It's working out great so far! I haven't overclocked yet but I'll probably give it a go when I've got time this weekend.

CM7 RC1 US data PROBLEM?!? DEFY!

I am having some major 3G issues with CM7, I tried using baseband switcher with each US setting (NOT SOLVED). Wiped, Installed UK 3.4.3 Stock SBF. then proceeded to upgrade to RC1, data works.... OK. But 3G speed is SOOOOOO slow...
takes 5mins to download applications...
Before RC1 update, downloads were running really fast!!
Question??
Is my data slow because i live in USA and used the UK 3.4.3 Stock SBF. file as base file for upgrade?
Is anyone else having this same problem?, If so... Please add input so we can get this problem fixed.--------- If you have fixed, please list steps taken to fix this issue.
Is there a APK. file i can download to monitor Network speeds?
Stock US T-Mobile Baseband? link? kernel issue causing 3G network issue?
Please contribute to this thread to assure that this problem is solved, I would appreciate it very much... Thanks in Advance to ANY/ALL input
ATXiceman512
I did experienced data connectivity problems in cm7 beta 6, but in cm7rc1v2, not yet, although you can say it is slow, but downloading an app for 5min, never experienced it. How big was the app? the only problem I have with data is that 3g sucks a lot of battery. Can drain phone for half a day and 2g is like having no data at all. Using nordic sbf baseband tmob usa .9, location usa. Check if you have good signal/reception.

[Q] Can I remove verizon completely

Hi,
not sure if this has been discussed here or not,
so i have a simple and easy question. I currently use a rooted Verizon 32gb Xoom, with a 4.1.2 CM10 rom installed by Rom Manager.
I do not ever plan to use the Verizon hardware and software in the future, is there a way to completely remove the Verizon software,
so that I can kinda convert this Xoom into a wifi only model ?
Is there a problem doing this that you can think of ?
can I just flash a different modem with cwmr ?
I really despise Verizon and do not want to see the 3g signal meter in the notification panel.
i know it sounds a lil whiney, but i do want to know, what it would take to disable any verizon functionality.
thanks in advance,
Use LAIOT Linux to install Stock MZ604 ROM, then root again and blah blah blah. Else you can try installing AOSP ROM.
Both links on my signature (better saying, 7Heavens have all it and more )
"This Story Ends Where It Began"
I keep mine in airplane mode and just turn on wifi. I never see the 3G icon. I've been doing this for over six months now. I originally did this because I was afraid verizon would try to disable my Xoom. I figured if it never connected to their network that I'd be safe.

This'll work, just flash a wingray rom
Sent from my Blade using Tapatalk 2
I am on a 4G rooted xoom as well that I never use the verizon data. If I were just to install a wingray ROM instead of stingray and keeping in airplane mode, would I be able to expect a increase in battery life?
Possible battery Life increase is the only benefit I see in switching from stingray to wingray.
Well yea you will but then if you want to use wifi it'll defeat the purpose of airplane mode

I just bought a new ($200) 3g version to replace my recently damaged WiFi version. Can I flash a fully stock wingray firmware to it? Or better/safer to just flash a custom wingray ROM?
Thanks.

Xenon vs Slim Bean

I just flashed the latest slim bean to my Vzw RAZR HD and was wondering if it was worth switching to the Xenon? What do you all think?
I miss my voice text, is their a way to get that back??
Slim Bean is a great ROM and I don't mean any disrespect. If I could figure out how to get voice text/keyboard back I will do it.
Thanks for any ideas.

I really enjoyed slim bean but after trying xenon latest I plan on using for some time. Some people including myself are having a random blue flashing screen but they are on top of it. Having my camcorder on 4.2.2 and the new halo feature is sweet!

Hey what is the best way to flash from 4.2.2 to another rom? Im not able to get Safestrap to work on 4.2.2 for some reason.
Thanks for any help man!
I use TWRP from mattlgroff utility 1.20. I think he has 1.21 out now.... Is a must have!

I like it too. Somewhat... Im on the XT926 though. But I am having a few issues. My network shows up as 3G when I know im in a 4G network area. Also my screen brightness is non adjustable, and I cant seem to flash anything else.
Do you know what is the best way to flash from a custom rom to another? Clockwork seems to not support the HD.

Most developers tell you what to use in their descriptions which is usually TWRP.

I had the same experience when I did the Big Part modification and installed Omni. No radio. I tried all of the other ROMs for Big Part and only got a signal with EOS 4. With EOS 4 I only had 3G, no LTE. I have been reading about this like crazy, and have seen where people have stated that the custom ROMs made not have the radio built in, but I haven't been able to find out how to add it back or correct my situation. I have seen that other people have stated that they DO have data service after installing Big Part ROMs, so there has to be something we're missing here.
Sorry I don't have a solution. I'm hoping someone with some knowledge on the subject will chime in.

I have continued to look into this, and I just discovered my Xoom is not showing an IMEI number. It is all zeros. You should check and see if you have the same issue. I'm doing research now on how can get the numbers back.
Mine isn't showing the imei number either

Well, I am a little glad that I am not the only one who ran into this issue. I haven't come up with a solution yet, but I did switch back to EOS4 and I have 3G. It's a little slow, but it's better than nothing. I am going to do some more research on this tonight. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

I have continued to seek out the cause of and solution to this problem. Answers from the XDA forums and the internet in general are all over the place as to the cause, but it seems that flashing back to stock is the solution that almost everyone has found success with.
We're in a bind because you can't flash a stock image back onto the BigPart partitioned Xoom. I haven't seen a method to change the Xoom back to it's stock partitions just yet soo... I'm at a loss as to what can be done as of this moment. As soon as someone in the know posts a method to restore the stock partitions I'll flash back to stock and see what happens.
I flashed the eos ROM and will wait for this to get fixed

Yes, it is possible. Follow again the OP instructions but this time flashing back the original TWRP 2.6.3.0 touch recovery to recover the stock partition layout, instead of using TWRP 2.6.3.0 BigPart.

I thought you might be interested. This is apparently what needs to be done to get the stock partitions back on the Xoom. Basically just going through the BigPart procedure again, but replacing the BigPart recovery with the regular one. Some time over the weekend I will probably give it a shot. I have been using my Xoom with EOS and 3G service (not very good 3G service) for a week or so now, but I would really like to get my 4G LTE back. Looks like a lot of Stingray users are having data issues with BigPart roms.
