Hi good day everyone! Ive decided to install my first custom rom ever in my i9003. But after reading comments, post.. Still not sure of the procedures. What should i do first? Any suggestions? What cRoms is perfect (theming, faster, no bugs esp. wifi) Please? Thanks.
Question: Ive recently done the procedures about external-internal swap, if i installed a new rom, should i repeat the step? or its fixed already?
PDA: i9003JPKPH
PHONE: i9003JXKP3
CSC: i9003OJPKPC
Thanks!
if you may, please include a link.
i too had my first custom ROM a few days back
welcome to the n00bies club hehehe
so far i felt satisfied with poseidon rom which you can find in developers section for our phone model
i would go for cyanogen or miui soon if and when all the bugs are fixed
as for sd card swap i have not tried it or messed with it
if you pick the custom rom youwant, they also come with installing and flashing guide from the developer, just follow those carefully. and you should be careful with the stock rom you use and your custom rom you want since they comewith compatibility issues when different
bro pinoy? thanks. after changing the rom should i root it again?
Every rom has its own features, and all of those are clearly mentioned on in OP..
So if u have any doubts just go to the specific rom thread, GO THROUGH THE OP AND A FEW PAGES AND if u still have any doubts, then post ur questions there (coz most of them don't have a separate q&a thread).. You'll get 1st hand answers instead of 'maybe '
or 'maybe not '..
All ur questions should have already been answered if u go through the thread clearly.. Cheers..
If u r root u only need use CWM to intall the cRoom, it means u dont loose root, but first I'll put KPQ stock room, is the most used version in cRooms actually.

yep pinoy...kababayan?
if you change stock ROM firmwares then yes you need to root again.
just follow the guides in the custom ROM you want.
but if you plan to install a Custom ROM and you already are rooted, then no you dont have to root it again.

just be careful with what you do. you would enjoy your new adventure im sure.
happy flashing
Maybe i should go first to xxkpq. So i need to flash xxkpe first right? According to the guide i saw, i should flash .PIT then next is the PDA CSC AND PHONE right? after that clearing the cache. then reboot. According to the guide again i should do it twice. so should i flash .pit again?
one more thing, after changing firmware, does my external sd card will return AS EXTERNAL again? coz i've done the swapping method. Thanks.
here is step by step guide by misledz(credits to him) with XXKPE >> XXKPQ
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
but if you need to flash XXKPE the second time ... you dont need to include the pit file BUT you also have to uncheck repartition box if pit file is not included.

Different phones may have different preferences, for example my brother's i9003 used to hang a lot on one rom(I don't want to mention the rom). However it was stable on mine. Then I flashed for him clean kpu and he told me it was more stable than ever. So just try out different roms, dont be afraid! It'll fun .

Hello,
I wanted to flash the Pac-Man ROM on my SL where I have CM9 installed. In the thread, I read that if you don't have CM10 you must first flash a stock ROM, and a few of them were provided. Do I have to flash the one that was originally on my phone (XWLF2) or can I take one of those that have been posted on the thread? Thank you very much in advance.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum but have been around the block a few times when it comes to software development, albeit not at a hardware level. I've got a couple old Android phones that I'm looking to root and play around with, but I'm having some trouble with the vernacular. The first device I'm trying is the newest of the old lot, a Nexus S (crespo).
I'm trying to install the "Guru" kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/development/kernel-guru-t2783561), but can't see how <4MB would be a complete system image. Does this kernel just reflect a patch that should be applied to the CM ROM, and if so, which one? I've rooted the phone using SuperOneClick but don't know where to go from here.
Thanks for helping this noob out, guys and gals. Cheers from Australia!

Thanks mate. Do I download this rom from the CM site, and does it matter which version I use? Am I correct in interpreting your directions to mean that "flashing" the kernel doesn't overwrite the whole rom, just simply acts like a patch after the CM distro is flashed?

The one we have been waiting for!
Features
100% Stock
Rooted / Powered by SuperSU by @Chainfire!
Busybox

FSTRIM on install
Notes:
Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on Latest TWRP to enjoy this ROM. No other recoveries supported however they may work.
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster

I'm transitioning careers, buying a new home, and moving across multiple states... So, I wouldn't count on it right now.
On the positive side. This gives everyone the motivation to learn how to use fastboot... A knowledge that should precede flashing ROMs anyways.

No. No, if nexus is unlocked.
Recently updated bootloader to 04-05 ("fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flo-flo-04.05.img") still staying on 4.4.4 KTU84P, waiting for 5.1.1+Xposed.

Q&A for Gnabo ROM X Tab S feature
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for Gnabo ROM X Tab S feature. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
I'm running a old version of Hyperdrive v6 on a N8013 Android 4.1.2. According to rootchecker, my bootloader is N8013UEUCMC2 and Kernel version is 3.0.31-813049.
I was looking at Gnabo's thread and I'm wondering if I need to flash any of these, Kernel for N801X, WiFi Fix for N801X and Remove phone stuff for N801x, or are those already included in your ROM?
Thanks

I was wondering, you know that page with 6 sections that shows news and side sync. How do I open the news stories? I figured out that you can flip up and down to scroll through different stories but can't figure out how to open the story.
Also, this isn't related to your rom but I've been out of the loop for awhile, can you tell me what is the best current solution for installing flash for websites.
Thanks again, I've been using it a lot for the last few hours after I got wifi working and I'm really loving it!

E:Error in /data/media/0/download_rom/TAB.S.Sensation.V6.n801x.zip

I did a Wipe Data/Factory Reset. My internal storage has about 1/6 G free, and the SDCARD has about 2 G free.
What could be wrong, I have downloaded the ROM twice now.
Any suggestion appreciated.

@AhmedSafian thank you for your hard work. This ROM is definitely the one that made my tab look new. Just wanted to report few things.
(N8013)
1) xposed is not pre-installed? If ever I'll do it manually, which version would you recommend.
2) I installed a HULU app since I do have an account with them, (it's like Netflix) it doesn't run. Any suggestions on what to do with it?
3) Is Sound Alive better than (Dolby Digital)?
