Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

I'm running a old version of Hyperdrive v6 on a N8013 Android 4.1.2. According to rootchecker, my bootloader is N8013UEUCMC2 and Kernel version is 3.0.31-813049.
I was looking at Gnabo's thread and I'm wondering if I need to flash any of these, Kernel for N801X, WiFi Fix for N801X and Remove phone stuff for N801x, or are those already included in your ROM?
Thanks

I was wondering, you know that page with 6 sections that shows news and side sync. How do I open the news stories? I figured out that you can flip up and down to scroll through different stories but can't figure out how to open the story.
Also, this isn't related to your rom but I've been out of the loop for awhile, can you tell me what is the best current solution for installing flash for websites.
Thanks again, I've been using it a lot for the last few hours after I got wifi working and I'm really loving it!

Hi, it is possible to enable N8000 data network with Gnabo rom X tab S?

Tab S Sensation ROm Will Not Install
When I try to install this ROM, I get the following error, am using PhilZ Touch 6 recovery CWM 6.0.4.7.
The error is;
format () expects 5 args, got 4
E:Error in /data/media/0/download_rom/TAB.S.Sensation.V6.n801x.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
I did a Wipe Data/Factory Reset. My internal storage has about 1/6 G free, and the SDCARD has about 2 G free.
What could be wrong, I have downloaded the ROM twice now.
Any suggestion appreciated.
Thanks

what is your device?
try you first apply Gnabo rom? :good:

@AhmedSafian thank you for your hard work. This ROM is definitely the one that made my tab look new. Just wanted to report few things.
(N8013)
1) xposed is not pre-installed? If ever I'll do it manually, which version would you recommend.
2) I installed a HULU app since I do have an account with them, (it's like Netflix) it doesn't run. Any suggestions on what to do with it?
3) Is Sound Alive better than (Dolby Digital)?

Inspire 4G and the cyanogenmod (questions)

Im new to the android community and phones. I bought an Inspire with gingerbread (2.3.3) and would like to add cyanogenmod to it but the tutorials look so "harmfull" they scare me away so i have some question.
Can i downgrade from 2.3 to android v1?
Have anyone here rooted and flashed the same phone I have?
What is "radio? Can I change it to another one? how can I tell if it will work with my carrier?
please, please, please. READ
these questions you are asking concern me
1. you dont downgrade to v1....because it doesnt exist
2. we all have the same phone as you, otherwise we wouldnt have an inspire section
3. there is an entire thread dedicated to this very subject....look in the dev section.
there are easy to follow guides, tutorials, and walkthroughs here, but you have to READ...there is ZERO excuse for not reading and comprehending this stuff. if it is too much for you, you should NOT be doing any of it, and leave your phone stock
This is why I said..im NEW with this... none of what you helped in some way.

then you have some READING to do. nobody here is going to hold your hand.
ALL the information you seek is already here, but you have to READ
Sorry if all you want is someone to hold your hand and spoonfeed information to you
NEW or not, it doesnt matter. I was NEW to this phone when i got it. I READ, the same way i have done with all my other phones. I READ to understand what i am doing and how to do it.
heres the first thing you should have read when you came to the inspire boards:

this question has come up several times in the last month. yes it works just fine
Hi, i just rotted the unit and everything was fine
So i decided to use, cyanogenmod, it installed
now i can make calls but it does not connect to the data network portion.
Any ideas?
I noticed the radio baseband is slighly different than the original. could it be?
Sorry. was quick. i entered the APN settings and it is now connecting.. just Edge....before (stock rom) i had "H" (guessing is 3G). Now it only connects to E (edge i assume).
The weird thing is that before whenever i was in an area with only edge It would not allow me to browse but now I can.
any idea jedi master?
you can try a different radio. look at the radio thread in the dev section
Sorry to bother you so much. I was able to solve the radio issue. Now, since the market app wasn't included i followed the guide on how to install gapps but after doing so i can't get pass the boot screen "touch the android to begin".
I try to wipe and reflash but still does not let me do it. Any ideas?
did you touch the android to begin?
Yes, sir. But it will still restart.
i try to wipe data and restart the process but same thing happens.
Tried taping the four corners and an still happening.
Someone said the the gapps file might be corrupted.
Right now cyanogenmod is a pain. is there a way to install another room or the stock one through recovery?
Thanks for all your help!

I got it from beta.download.cyanogenmod.org.
I run the program and it performed an update, but I don't know to what version? Release or still beta?
Later today I will try to install CM on my S4 and if it's good ... bye bye Samsung KNOX bull****!

Please let us know how it went. I'm curious how this CM affects Knox flag.
I´m very interested in this topic too. But I have to admit I´m a bit eager to try this =)
So any information from your side is really appreciated.
Thx =)
PS.: I got the internationel Version, so my Version of supported devices is "jfltexx" right?

Yes think "jfltexx" is the right one for S4 LTE/INT.
Have second thought after I have read CM i9505 buglist ... Link
Want to be totally sure that I can get back to the firmware I'm using at the moment. So I have a lot of questions as well ...
- Which recovery is the best and how to flash it being on CM.
- What about ROOT? Is latest stable version rooted by default, or do I have to (do I need to?) root it?
- Can I restore my apps using Titanium Backup?
AS far as I can read the information from this page http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/CyanogenMod_Installer#Supported_Devices it says that you actually dont need anything.
So, the right recovery and the latest root SHOULD be installed...but I´ve red no confirmation until yet
Thx for you reply.

Hi
I have read information from the link, and it related to root, recovery and backup BEFORE flashing CM.
My questions is what I do AFTER I have flashed CM
- Which recovery is the best and how to flash it being on CM.
- What about ROOT? Is latest stable version rooted by default, or do I have to (do I need to?) root it?
- Can I restore my apps using Titanium Backup?
It might be silly questions, but I only have flashed Samsung Firmwares :cyclops:
I try this installer. This Software install 10.2 M1 Snapshot jfltexx for now,Gapps and Recovery.Really useful. In the feature i hope Cyanogenmod add option to select witch build to install and more information what you really install
I just read the CM page and the Play store entry for the app.
I'm still not sure what this does. Doesn't his just make it easy to install cm on a previously rooted phone? Or is this supposed to take a stock phone without root and install CM automatically?

The installer is more for phones that are coming from stock without root... If you have root & recovery already, you can just flash 10.2 from sd card like any other rom. I've tried cwm and twrp install, twrp was easier for me because you can link the rom zip to the gapps zip and it'll flash it perfectly on the first install.
Very pleased with it, I only wish I did it sooner and got rid of the Samsung bloat lol.

Unfortunately I don't use the IR, or company email exchange, so I haven't been able to test it... Calendar works great, Google calendar... Personally I use aCalendar from play store, really nice interface... To be honest I really haven't noticed any bugs on 10.2 Release Candidate Snapshot. Only if I install Wanam Xposed, or some other ui changing module, they don't agree too well on CM roms.

Cyanogenmod installer
I am incredibly nervous about installing it as I have mucked up when messing with my phone before. It was when I was a no of and I didn't really know about aosp or aokp roms and I had installed a rom that was based on 4.3 and for the tutorial I watched they were on stock Samsung firmware and it turns out you have to do different steps and I learnt that the hard way by getting in a boot loop. Of course I was too nervous to completely brick my phone attempting to self repair it so I forked out £50. I don't want anything to go wrong again. I know this is a lot simpler but I'm still nervous because if something DOES go wrong then I'm screwed. What do you guys think I should do. I really want cyanogenmod on my Samsung galaxy s4 I9505 lte but I'm nervous. Any help or advice would be incredibly appreciated, thanks

[Q] Noob with a Nexus S

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum but have been around the block a few times when it comes to software development, albeit not at a hardware level. I've got a couple old Android phones that I'm looking to root and play around with, but I'm having some trouble with the vernacular. The first device I'm trying is the newest of the old lot, a Nexus S (crespo).
I'm trying to install the "Guru" kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-s/development/kernel-guru-t2783561), but can't see how <4MB would be a complete system image. Does this kernel just reflect a patch that should be applied to the CM ROM, and if so, which one? I've rooted the phone using SuperOneClick but don't know where to go from here.
Thanks for helping this noob out, guys and gals. Cheers from Australia!

Thanks mate. Do I download this rom from the CM site, and does it matter which version I use? Am I correct in interpreting your directions to mean that "flashing" the kernel doesn't overwrite the whole rom, just simply acts like a patch after the CM distro is flashed?

like this rom
i like this rom only had a few problems but after a reboot seams to be working good again
I have the weirdest thing happening. I'm on stable 7 and have been for quite a while. It's worked perfectly until a couple days ago and now I can't send text messages out. I think I can receive OK. Just can't send out. I've even tried doing a clean install of this and other ROMs with same result. It gets more odd... After toying with it I can send only one text out. Just one to any person. But I can't send another unless I reboot or I think wait a few hours. Upon reboot I again can send only one text message out. And so on. I have no clue what could be happening. Any ideas?

I had that problem when I was using certain builds. I had to drop modem back to BMB1. After that I could send with no issue. I, too could only send one text at a time.

That's my bad on the ambiguity! Haha glad you've got it all set up. Just to clarify, every rom comes with a boot.img which is what becomes the kernel. Custom kernels are slightly different.

GPS issue with latest nightly
Just an FYI, I tried the latest nightly and got zero GPS fix, even with a clean flash. I went back to the latest stable build (also a clean flash) and everything's cool with that, except for my inability to view pics within Gmail. :/
Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
Hi, I just loaded up Slimkat 4.4.4 with the stock kernel on my Verizon Galaxy S3. I used to use the Wifi Tether TrevE Mod with my previous version and that worked, however, this does not appear to work in this rom. I noticed there was a built in Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, which does work perfectly. I would like to use this but am just concerned that somehow VZ would know I am tethering and I would incur additional charges. Do I have anything to worry about or am I just being paranoid?
Thank you for a GREAT product, it's a spectacular rom.

Google Play Services not Installed
Just did a dirty flash of 9 stable over 7 stable flashed the latest gapps, and now the Google play store does not work and a bunch of apps are requesting the install of Google Play Services.
Any tips?

You could try clearing data for the Play Store. I always encourage a clean flash (wipe data and system) before each new release.

Any updates on that "further notice"?

[ROM][Flo][4/17/15] - Stock Rooted - Android 5.1 - LMY47O! Recovery Flashable!

AS the name implies this is a stock rooted Android 5.1 - LMY47O Lollipop ROM!
The one we have been waiting for!
Features
100% Stock
Rooted / Powered by SuperSU by @Chainfire!
Busybox
No other edits
FSTRIM on install
Notes:
Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on Latest TWRP to enjoy this ROM. No other recoveries supported however they may work.
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster

I'm transitioning careers, buying a new home, and moving across multiple states... So, I wouldn't count on it right now.
On the positive side. This gives everyone the motivation to learn how to use fastboot... A knowledge that should precede flashing ROMs anyways.
Thanks for this!
Please please please could someone make a recovery flashable bootloader as I don't own a PC but need to update my bootloader thanks in advance

Guys, do I need to flash ROM again if I update the bootloader? Will my data be wiped?

No. No, if nexus is unlocked.
Recently updated bootloader to 04-05 ("fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flo-flo-04.05.img") still staying on 4.4.4 KTU84P, waiting for 5.1.1+Xposed.

Thats impressive. I am going in for major surgery on Monday! This may be my last post for a while!
Could someone tell me how I can flash that new bootloader without a PC? Sorry for being a pest lol

Would I have to do anything special if I already have the paid version of Stericson's busybox installed?
Thanks so much Scott for making these ROMs and good luck on your surgery!
