Long story short, I jumped the Infuse ship and hitched a late ride on the GS2. I wanted to thank everyone here on the Infuse forum, especially Qkster, Scotthartbti, Dman (who is no longer on the Infuse), Mg2195, and Entropy. I arrived here about a year ago knowing only i-Devices and have learned so much since thanks to the helpful community here. The Infuse community on XDA is pretty amazing, actually. When I look over at other forums here, very few have the same level of dedication to development. I hope I end up on the same device as some of our developers again!
Enjoy your new Device and Happy Flashing. Thank You.

This is just an appreciation thread for all those at xda-developers that have helped me make the most out of my T-Mobile Wing. Those dummies at Microsoft and those greedy bastards at T-Mobile made my Herald-in-Disguise a slow, $450 excuse for a PDA phone. However, thanks to many people here, itje, ivanmmj, the admins, the owners and all those countless members whose posts and threads I've read that have opened my eyes to this wonderful world of HTC phone modding, my phone is fast, fresh and even more fun to use.
Keep the great work up! I really appreciate it!
Let me just second that and add another big cheer for everyone here.
Thank you!
I just wanted to take a minute and thank the devs for the great ROMs that made the captivate great. It was time for me to upgrade so I chose the HTC Inspire. I will be hanging on to the Captivate to make sure I like the Inspire. If I like it I will be selling the Captivate.
But anyway, Thank you to all the devs in the Captivate forums that have answered all my noobie questions and for the great roms.
I am going to send all the devs one last donation to show my appreciation.
I received my Captivate as an insurance replacement for my Xperia X10. When I began looking at custom roms and themes I was worried that I would see much of the same petty bickering and flaming that I regularly saw in the X10 thread.
Not so. As a whole, the community in the Cappy threads is MUCH more welcoming and helpful. In one thread yesterday I think there was one user with an issue and five or six others trying to help.
The DEVS actually seem to help each other and share knowledge and files. Over at X10 you would think that some of them had exclusive rights to this open source software.
Thank you again.
Carl
Yeah most people here are pretty great. Have a nice stay here in the Captivate forums.
The Universe is cracked, The Pandorica will open, Silence will fall.
Long time lurker of XDA and finally decided to join. This forum has been a great source of information and helped me finally jump to a ROM on my original Captivate. Just wish I did it earlier instead of suffering with the stock GB fiasco I lived with before buying my Galaxy Nexus.
So thanks to all the devs and members here who make XDA a great place to learn. I hope to contribute to this forum soon.
Hello XDA!
I opened this account to say thank you.
Last week I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4 (T-Mobile, m919) and began rooting it. The guides I read made no mention of the KNOX issue and I wound up with a soft-bricked phone.
I can't even begin to describe how I felt. I was literally sick to my stomach thinking I had just bricked a brand new phone.
Thanks to the guides and discussions found here on XDA (and a few on other forums, but mostly here) I was able to recover my system to stock and new phone is up and running again. This whole thing has been an emotional roller coaster, but also a learning experience. I feel much more informed now and confident that I have a place to find answers when I have a question.
I owe you all a big thanks.
I opened this account to thank you and be able to click the thank button from now on.
AND, I'll go out on a limb here and say thank you on behalf of thousands, if not millions of other lurkers who have gotten help here and just not taken the time to say thanks.
You guys ROCK. I don't even want to think about what would be happening to me right now had I not found this place.
Cool.
You can give back to the community by helping others who own that phone and run into similar issues in the Q&A forum. :good:
Your welcome
Always good to hear a happy outcome
Programming is a race between engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
i know the feeling, had the GS4 for 3 days before i soft bricked it.
had no idea that the update that recently came the day before locked the bootloader.
After searching threads here for a bit figured it out and was able to get to stock and "undo" my stupidity.
XDA , its devs and contributors are a priceless resource.
