Lurking Status Disabled - General Topics

Long time lurker of XDA and finally decided to join. This forum has been a great source of information and helped me finally jump to a ROM on my original Captivate. Just wish I did it earlier instead of suffering with the stock GB fiasco I lived with before buying my Galaxy Nexus.
So thanks to all the devs and members here who make XDA a great place to learn. I hope to contribute to this forum soon.

ICS for Galaxy S 4G?

Hi guys is there any chance this would happen? I know that the Galaxy S 4G has everything to support this. So anyone willing to develop a port. The S2 has already a working one so why not galaxy s 4g?
Thanks

I sometimes think that this is done on purpose. :/

If this isn't a dev posting a working and bootable ICS for SGS4G then does this topic belong here? This been posted about a billion times in the right section of the SGS4G forum mind you. Use search function, post in old decrepit post about ICS, but please don't hog up the development section with this garbage. Important stuff belongs here like the roms that the devs here work so hard on only to be under appreciated by a bunch of sniveling children who didn't get their beloved CM7. Yes ICS got unwittingly dropped by the ever so greedy and scrooge like Samsung, who against Google's Open Handset Alliance, which promises a device would be supported for 18 months, has decided they are going to drop all galaxy devices period rather than provide official ICS. If you'd really like ICS then you'd best start donating. Money is tight for me right now but I know when my cash flow picks up my green backs are going to start moving in this direction.
You know what I've come to understand? A new user won't know how the regular users will want the forum to run. I made the same mistake myself and had a few threads moved out of the dev section. It's a dev question, so it could properly fit in the dev board.
You're just bumping the thread needlessly. Next time do what I did and just post a link to where the topic was discussed instead of ranting about how it's in the wrong section. Just report the thread and have one of the mods move it. It's much easier than having to take time out of your day to type up a long post talking about how pissed off you are about it.
Merry xmas everyone!

New to the Forums, long time viewer

I have long loved XDA. When I got my first smart phone, a Samsung Captivate, I was directed to this sight. Thanks to all the community members and their hard work, I was able to learn all the ins and outs of android phones from updating them to the newest Roms and kernels to dealing with any problems that crop up to unbricking my phone when I thought it was a goner.
Now it is my time to say thanks to everyone and contribute what I can, so thank you and I will be giving what helpful feedback I can to all the wonderful developers.
Welcome to XDA. Feel free to check this guide out when you have a little time.

Time to bid goodbye

Firstly to be frank I'm not good with farewells n all but still I'm saying coz this community has given me a lot :good: Well the time has come for me to move on as I got my Nexus 4 yesterday Its not that I will not keep peeing around occasionally as I am not going to sell my Atrix 2..for 2 reasons mainly...its my 1st Android device and 2nd that its simply awesome for what it is My mom will be using Atrix 2 from now on and I will be with my Nexus 4
I want to thank all the devs without whom it would not be possible to progress with such a locked device. Also this device has great potential for a complete device and had it not been for work of devs and the senior members it would not have be as awesome as it is today Also for other members I will like to express my gratitude as without you peeps there wont be any community
All the best and Thanks everyone,
Regards,
PS : Was using and will be using MIUI as my permanent ROM on A2
See you in the N4 forum, my friend.
Bye.

Goodbye Infuse Forum!

Long story short, I jumped the Infuse ship and hitched a late ride on the GS2. I wanted to thank everyone here on the Infuse forum, especially Qkster, Scotthartbti, Dman (who is no longer on the Infuse), Mg2195, and Entropy. I arrived here about a year ago knowing only i-Devices and have learned so much since thanks to the helpful community here. The Infuse community on XDA is pretty amazing, actually. When I look over at other forums here, very few have the same level of dedication to development. I hope I end up on the same device as some of our developers again!
Enjoy your new Device and Happy Flashing. Thank You.

ATTN DEVS and ADMIN

I've been around the board for quite a while now lurking and searching. I rarely post and have only been registered a few months. I started rooting when i got my original EVO (wow lol) and have found immeasurable information here at XDA. There is NO better android board anywhere and I'd just like to say thanks to all the people who make this possible. I try to thank posts as often as i can and have made a few donations here and there as well. I support devs by buying apps when applicable too. Thanks again for all your work
