[Q] Battery Drain - 98% Wifi

The last few days my TF101 keeps draining over night, when I look at my battery stats it says 98% is Wifi. I'm not sure what is happening, should I think it is the Dock battery drain problem, or do you think I have a bad app that is keeping wifi going ? If so, how can I find it? I am on a custom rom Revolution 2.3.0 and was wondering if I may be better off trying to go back to the stock WW rom but with root? in preparation for ICS?
Also could this be sleep problem maybe?

Try auto airplane mode. Worked for me.

That is mostly a bad app. Try to get a task manager software to see what's on and kill it. It is most certainly a programe that connects to the Internet most of the time like torrent based software that is always uploading...

I had this problem once or twice when flashing new ROMs.
Just try to reflash the ROM of your choice and wipe cache also.

What apps are you running?

Check your apps. To test this, just before you put the TF to sleep. go into wifi settings and set wifi to go off when screen does. put it to sleep. I found this works, but something is resetting wifi off to never once you wake it up. Permissions on most apps are way more than needed.

Just noticed it is set up in device settings to never disconnect from wifi. What should the default setting be for the device? I have set back to disconnect on screen going off. What do you guys have set for yours?

I have a B50 dock and a B60 Transformer. My Transformer began draining no matter which options I set with wifi and screen etc., previously I had a very low battery drain. I started looking around and discovered some apps that I had installed had automatically initiated auto synch settings. I disabled all auto Synch options and now it is going into deep sleep and battery drain has stopped.

asus transformer 101g - all widgets and programm show me 8-9-7 Mv and do not show normal voltage ? WTF ?

You need to check that setting each time before you put TF to sleep as some apps will change it on you. Apps seem to demand way mote permissions than they need to do their job

change the wifi settings "disconnect policy" to " never when plugged in". I did that running prime 211 and it saved tons of battery. Its more absolute control. I check my tf all the time so i dont miss any updates n stuff. I have my phone too.

I've found the same issue, something is resetting my wifi policy - probably some app or service I've downloaded.
I'm running Revolver 3.11.1 with default rom and even after flashing and trying the old dock firmwire I'm not having any luck. I've been investigating writing a service to identify and log changes so I can track the culprit, in the meantime I'm using auto airplane off as someone else suggested, its a perfectly working alternative but I'd rather minimise the bits and pieces trying to regulate what should be normal system controls...(given thats likely what got us here in the first place )

Q: Xoom wont recognize battery stats

Just yesterday my xoom stopped recognizing my battery stats. Reads 0%. It charges but won't give me an actual reading of my battery. Installed circle battery widget and still gave me a 0 reading...

if you are rooted and have clockworkmod installed you could try wiping battery stats within the clockworkmod settings?

Thanks for letting me know. Forgot to say in the OP that I'm not rooted. I've been shying away since due to the wiping of the device. Might have to do that anyway for a factory reset, to see if that might help.

i have had a look around and it seems you need to have root access - you could try this
1. Run down your device’s battery until it turns itself off
2. Turn it back on and wait for it to turn off again; this may be straight away of after a few minutes
3. Remove the battery for at least 20 seconds
4. Replace the battery and charge until full and then for at least another hour – while the device is off
5. Delete you batterystats.bin file using one of 3 methods (requires root): Terminal Emulator – type su then press enter, next type ‘rm /data/system/batterystats.bin’ (without quotes). Using a Battery Calibration App (from market) – there are many choices available, they just delete your batterystats.bin file. In market, search for battery calibration. Make sure to read review and provided info in case of device incompatibilities. Manually – if for any reason the previous two methods didn’t work you may want to try deleting the file manually. Using a file manager with root access (such as Root Explorer) navigate to ‘data/system/batterystats.bin’. Delete ‘batterystats.bin’
6. Your device will now creates itself a new batterystats.bin file with a correct 100% battery reading
7. Run down the battery until it turns itself off
8. Turn on the device and charge for at least 8 hours
9. Unplug the device, turn off and charge for another hour
10. Unplug the device, turn on and wait for 2 mins
11. Turn off and charge for another hour
12. Use the device as normal

No Go Rooted this weekend and still 0% battery. Wiped stats with CWM and deleted the bin file, tried different calibration tools. Still same problem. Charges though, and the indicator light changes once fully charged, but still flying blind...

[Q] What is considered normal screen battery percentage for 7.7?

My screen battery percentage is around 70%. I am wondering if that is normal because on a screenshot I saw in another thread, the person's screen % was in the 40s. If it isn't normal, can someone help me with bring the the battery usage of the screen down? (My battery is being drained and I was wondering if it was the issue with the screen .) And sorry if I seem very noobie >_<.

The higher your screen percentage the better it is because it tells nothing else is draining your battery significantly. At 40%, there are other things that are running your battery dry aside from screen.
You could post a screen shot for others to see and advice.

Ohhh, I didn't know that. Thank you for telling me! However, now I wonder what is causing my battery to drain... especially when I am web browsing. Here is a screenshot of the battery usage on my system.

If you're rooted you can always clear battery stats in CWM. Some devices appear to perform better. Also check what's running in the background (processes). Disabling things like GPS can save battery. If you use TiBu, freezing unneeded apps can free up power and resources. If you venture into that, I would suggest doing one at a time to avoid freezing apps that your tab needs running. Google/search forum as I'm sure others have posted their experiences.

I notice android media process consume your android battery. I am also wondering about android media and server process in my GT- 6800 with paranoid 2.55. Here are the process that help me out
try to delete all you music or picture files and back it up to you pc
unistall the game and try to install game one by one to see which game will consume your android media process
using terminal emulator to disable android process media. I refer to this site; http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=37199
1) have Android SDK installed on your laptop
2) enable debugging on your *rooted* device
3) connect it to you laptop via USB
4) adb shell
5) su
6) pm disable com.android.providers.media/com.android.providers.media.MediaScannerReceiver
It works for me and now I have no media process in system and media server consume reasonable memory. Thanks

My tablet is rooted, but I don't know how to clear battery stats. However, I am currently using Battery Monitor Widget Pro and I see the calibration tab. Once again, I have no idea how to use the calibration thing on this app. And I disable GPS all the time, unless I really need to use it, which is hardly ever. As for TiBu, I don't know what that is. Is that Titanium Backup?

If you have CWM installed then there is an option (from the menu) to clear your battery stats. If you don't have CWM then please download from the "development" section.

Poke around in CWM. I believe it's under Advanced. And yes, TiBu is Titanium Backup.

[Q] Excessive battery drain 5.0.1

I recently noticed after the latest update excessive battery drain as seen in screenshots posted below. I have tried a factory reset and then unlocked bootloader to root and added greenify to try help save my battery. Does anyone have any tips on what else to try?

Have you tried to figure out what the Miscellaneous drain is? At least on my tablet I don't have that category in battery usage.

Miscellaneous is android figuring out the rest of the battery stats, it's normal for new devices.

If by "new" you mean recently flashed/factory restored, then I'm not sure what to say. Even after flashing a recovery image I've never noticed that category. The only reason why I asked was because I assumed that was what you were referencing as being excessive.
If you were referencing the 24+ hour battery life graph shown in your screenshots, then that seems about right. Unfortunately the tablet has never been known to have stellar battery life unless it's on battery saver 24/7.

Seems about right?! He had 7min 2sec screen on time. If thats "about right" to you... you need to RMA your tablet.
Clearly whatever "Miscellaneous" is, is his issue.

Ok, so I noticed the very same thing when I got my Shield, I haven't rooted (I had on KitKat to restore some backups, then didn't do it again in Lollipop yet). I contacted Nvidia's service via livechat and got this answer. It did some considerable difference, although I still think it's draining a little too fast, but my old tablet had a pretty strong battery so I was just spoiled by it it seems >.<
So here it goes:
Nvidia Shield Callibration: (this takes a while)
You will have to calibrate the battery for just one time and observe the device battery backup for 2-3days to see the changes.
1: Drain your Shield tablet battery by using it normally until it turns off by itself.
2: Power-on your Shield tablet, if it wakes up and if you see some power left, follow step 1.
3: If Shield tablet is now drained to the point it can't wake up, set the device to charge for 7-8 hours.
The device should remain off when you set it for charging here.
4: Unplug the charger after 7-8hours, power on and wait for the battery charge to drop down to 90-95%.
5: Once the device battery drops down to 90-95%, plug in the charger and charge for one complete hour.
6: Unplug the charger once the device is fully charged.
7: Go to Shield settings > Shield power control > Apps> select optimize all option.
8: Go to Shield settings > Shield power control > system>
• Set the brightness to auto.
• Change the sleep option to 2 minutes of inactivity instead of default 10 minutes inactivity.
• Change the processor mode to either optimized or Battery savings.
• Check the WiFi optimization on.
Observe the device performance and report to us if you are still facing issue with the battery backup..
And then they gave me some tips for better battery life in general, I follow them (mostly) and my battery seems to hold on decently:
1: Always use the Shield tablet charger and not the computer USB ports or any other charger as the power specifications vary from the device to device.
2: In case if the charger is missing, use the back port of the desktop computer to charge the device instead of front port.
3: Always remember to exit the application instead of tapping the home button which will continue to run the application in the background.
4: Restart your Shield tablet at least once in a week. This will refresh the device making it work faster and efficient.
5: Connect the charger only when the battery comes down to 15% and unplug the charger only when it reaches 90% or above. This will reduce the number of charge cycles which will make battery last longer.
6: Use a third party app manager like Clean Master and free the memory at-least once a day to keep the device running faster.
To notice if the battery is fully/optimally charged when the device is off, look for the led indicator next to the charging port. It should be green, indicating it is fully/optimally charged

HTC One E9+ shutdown automatically.

i have HTC one E9+ and purchased 6-7 before from online and did not notice that device does not have warranty.
Now its started shutting down and when restart then battery goes to 1% or some time decreased 30-40% of the battery and its happen only when i start using the devise like youtube, skype or whatsapp etc but while on idle status dont face any issue.
I even did the factory reset but no improvement and then i thought could be a battery issue and then contacted HTC and they said perform below tasks and if battery above than 75% then not a battery issue.
Now i dont know what should i do to resolve this issue.
can anyone put his/her experience to fix this issue.
1 - charge the device until the LED turns green <br/>2 - turn on air plan mode
3- Go to settings > display > increase the screen time out to one hour and increase the brightness to 100%
4-then restart the device
5- Unplug it and leave it for one hour

Try re-flashing your stock ROM. After that do a full discharge.
