Battery reporting problem - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

So this problem happened after I flashed a 4.2 rom. I have since restored a nandroid of my 4.1 AOKP, but the problem somehow persisted.
The problem is that the battery seems to drain normally from 100% down to 22%. Once it hits 22% it drains VERY slowly until it hits about 18%, and then all of a sudden it dies. I am sure it is draining properly from 22% down to dead, but Android is just reporting it incorrectly.
Is there something simple I can do to try to fixthis? I remember old clockwork recovery having a clear battery stats item, but I don't see anything similar in TWRP (and not even sure that would do anything).
I found this, but it seems to be a 4.2 problem, which should have been erased with restoring my 4.1 nandroid?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

[Q] Power Issue.. Please Help!

Hi all,
There's this problem with my phone that everytime I charge it, it takes an elongated time to do so. This issue first emerged when I was on stock GB after a minor OTA update which added the power saver toggle to the quick settings menu..The problem is that it takes about 4-5 hours to fully charge the phone, and if I rebooted in the middle of charging when it's about 70% or 80%, it suddenly shows that the phone is fully charged, and the indicator becomes green! But afterwards the battery drains as quickly!
Now I have S-Off and using ARHD 6.6.3 ROM, but it seems the problem persists ..I wiped battery stats as soon as I flashed the ROM as well..Although it's not a problem I cannot live with, it's annoying enough when it happens.
Can someone please help me? And suggest me what to do?

its common thing...the battery calibration is not proper that's all...
also you need to wipe stats once you charge your phone to 100%
then battery will try to calibrate ...and after 3-4 full complete cycles (100-0 and 0-100)
the battery will settle..
the battery drain will be there ...whenever you flash a rom or flash a kernel....battery only settles atleast after 2 full cycles
EDIT: also download currentwidget from market..as the name says its a widget..so you will see it in widgets once you installed it...this will give you more proper reading of battery...when you plug your phone to charge...and when current widget reads 0mah then your battery is charged completely...(it might take a long time to read 0mah...but charge it until you see 0mah)..then wipe the battery stats...so after this battery calibration will be proper
Also the sudden jump of battery percentage is due to improper battery calibration
so dont worry you got no problem
So
I read somewhere that you are not supposed to let the phone go to zero because it could cause your phone to not power back on anymore..is this fact. I couldn't find where I read it to back and read again. Mine has been doing some weird things as well...the led turns green before it is 100% and it goes from 100% and drops to like 89% out of no where.

when i meant 100%-0% means until your phone turns off due to less power..it might not(or won't be) be 0% then
as i told you that kind of jumps are common ...in my case it went to 60% to 100% when i rebooted ...also the dropping used to be in large scale too

Battery draining really quickly, even when idle, SENSATION CYANOGENMOD 10.1

Hi everyone, at the weekend I installed Cyanogenmod 9 on my sensation, after experiencing a bit of trouble with it draining my battery super quick I tried charging it and then discharging it fully but the problems persisted. I was told to try this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115520), I installed it (before doing so I wiped absolutely everything, cleared caches and wiped my SD card to be safe too), and still the problem persists. The battery drains really quickly, and even when it's supposedly idle and locked, I checked after about 10 minutes it had managed to loose about 3% battery. So I downloaded a battery stats app and let it run for a few hours, took a few screenshots (http://imgur.com/VwBtGct,BVhNjyI,mDrzMS7,v740lzH,pdXS238#0 click through the images near the top) and nothing really out of the ordinary. Is there something im missing? Or anything I can try? Or is there a chance that after a few charges and discharges the battery will be alright (it's an anker 1900mAh and I was used to going right from dawn till dusk with tonnes of battery left with the stock Sense OS).
Thanks! any help is appreciated

[Q] Battery Problem

Hello everyone,
I have a very unusual problem with my sensation xe. Let's say my battery is at 10%, i connect the charger, it say's charging, but my battery shows that is discharging and in fact , the battery is charging. The level goes 10%-9%....-0% than it jumps at 100% and goes again to 0%. I tried all the solutions here, but i found that nothing helps. I tried, Battery Calbration app from Play Store, I tried manually wipeing the battery status from recovery when full, i tried all the Rom's , new battery, stock ROM NOTHING! Even when i let the phone charge while in recovery, it doesn't show the true % of the battery.
The phone:
-S-OFF
-latest firmware/radio
-1.27 HBOOT
-now running MIUI
Please Help ME!
Still, the same problem :/
Those battery calibration apps dont do anything neither does the battery status wiping. The battery level indicator gets feedback from the sensor. So if you are having problems with the reading battery level, sensor is malfunctioning. If the battery holds i say ignore it. On the other hand if you have some cash put aside change the battery ( preferably get the same one, anchor batteries are of a larger capacity and are generally cooler but i've see people complain about your exact problem with them). No good news from me unfortunately but hope it clears the problem up for you... Cheers
Try to install app BetterBatteryStats, this could indicate the problem. I got the same problem as you and i delete battery data in recovery.

Battery display problem

Hey guys,
Yesterday a weird problem appeared after I installed a backup (CM11S) on TWRP. My battery is working fine I suppose but the percentage being shown is not correct.
After charging it to 100% and sleeping through the night it only went down to 98%. Now I can suppose that it only uses 2% battery in 10 hours, but thats quite impossible.
So my batery percentage isn't displayed correct on android nor TWRP. I tried installing some different ROMs to see if that fixes the problem but it didnt. After installing unofficial CM12 it still says my battery is at 100% even though its impossible.
Is there anyone who knows a fix?
Thanks in advance!

Battery Issue

I have been using Nexus 5 for a year and half now. After upgrading to android 6.0.1 recently, I have been facing serious battery issues, such as:
1. Sudden shut down of the device, from various % of battery remaining. After trying to switch back on, the battery shows empty, or even 5-10% charge remaining.
2. If I charge it fully and then switch to safe mode, the phone works fine, the discharge rate is pretty stable and long-lasting. If I then try to switch back to normal mode from safe mode with a simple restart, the battery percentage again shows drastic change in between the two modes.
3. Sometimes when I keep it in safe mode, the battery percentage shows an increase, even if it's not charging.
* Yesterday I did a factory reset, yet these problems continue. I am confused about this being a battery problem, android bug or something else entirely.
I am a newbie in this forum, so please pardon me if I am missing some things here. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I was about to open a new thread but it looks like we have the same problem, in particular this

Yesterday evening I charged my N5 to 100%, used it 5-10 minutes while in bed and turned it off; this morning I turned it on, used it for other 5 mins (the charge was 86%) and it shut down on its own: when I tried to switch it back on it appeared to be completely discharged.
This happened several times in the last weeks, alongside a way faster discharge of the battery.
Is there a way to check if this is related to some software or it a physical problem of the battery? And, in case, is it possible to change it?
Flash back to stock LP to see if the problem goes away. If the problem continues, it could be time for a new battery.
I've not been playing with roms and stuff for a while and I don't remember that, if I flash stock LP (I'm on stock Marshmallow now, if that matters) will I have everything on my phone wiped?

...anybody?
You could try flashing everything except the userdata.img file. After flashing the other partitions, erase cache before booting the LP ROM for the first time.
I always recommend taking a back up of your data before flashing anything to the phone as there is always the possibility that something goes wrong.
What about calibrating your battery?

I tried to install an app to calibrate the battery but I'd need to root my phone to make it work (as now it's not rooted), and if I remember correctly the root process would wipe my phone (and as right now I don't have much time for that I'd rather try first everything I can without wiping).

Alright, though I'm afraid it might come down to that..
But lemme know anyway if you managed to fix your battery issue without having to calibrate the battery. I had a similar problem but it hasn't gone away yet even after calibrations. Maybe a new battery is in order.
