I wouldn't suggest you to stick it with a super glue. It can damage your phone and get worse than now. Try to find someone, who works with that things. good luck!

Yes they are cheap plastic, I'm afraid the back cover should be changed. You can also use the phone withour volume buttons, they are rarely used anyway. Adda widget on homescreen for volume control and you should be ok

There are many, but problem is they're not reliable, instead of fixing they may make it even worse

Yup that is a good solution, but it'll not help once i'll plan to sell the device, buyer'll complain/reject bcoz of missing/faulty hardware keys
P.S I guess i have to buy replacement back cover, but don't know online store which will support other options than credit card or paypal, i checked here at local stores, but it isn't available here.

[Q] Loose Screen?

Is anyone having a problem with the screen, well the phone, clicking when you touch the corners? Over the past few days it seems like the actual phone and back cover are not connected tightly resulting in a click sound and feel when typing on the keyboard. I have tried to re-seat the back cover with no luck. I am going to try and get an exchange today but the whole design around a uni body phone worries me long term.
I've posted the same thing and you're not alone. What you can do is put a paper inside the case and it'd resolve your problem for now

There appears to be some build quality issues with some devices out there last night I discovered that vibrate doesn't work on my phone.
check out my 1st and 2nd post in this thread just called T-Mobile and they're overnighting my phone, I love this phone but this is the first phone I had to exchange twice
Mcp,
Unfortunately I have to go threw hell to get mine replaced since my wife is an employee.
Bad vibrations... lol
I noticed on mine the vibration is very mild compared to say the MyTouch 4G.

I have it to, actually dont know if I should take it so seriously.
Yhe it clicks a little but nothing serious.
Yup, my one day old sensation also clicks and make that noise when I press on the bottom right of the screen, just like yours. Also, the capacitive buttons are unevenly lit. This is my second unit, and I am very disappointed. I returned the first one because of a wacky battery. Build quality on that one was perfect. I might return this unit also.
Any other folks with the same issue?

I already talked to them and they were ready to overnight the replacement phone but they said they couldn't because I'm in my buyers remorse period
the bottom right corner seemed loose for me too, but i din't care that much and now, after using it for about 2 weeks it fits tight. don't know what happened.
anyone with loose buttom right corner and now its tight ???
what did you do ??
mine is loose too !!!
thats my second unit too... the first one made crackling noises when typing messages. this one is better ... but with loose corner !!!
mine is more like a loose right side. you can physically feel the screen go in to the back cover

Yes, my first unit was flawless, I would have kept it if not for the wacky battery. This one annoys me every time I press on the right lower portion. I'm weighing my options, I only have 3 days left to exchange/return it to walmart

Got the same problem.
Tomorrow i am gonna switch back covers and see if it is the issue.
I think when you take the back cover of to many times the right side will show this problem.
Greetz.
Happens to my phone as well only if I press the right point. That sounds come from the battery. Pull the backcover and press on the battery then you'll hear some clicks. But I couldn't figure out how to solve that. Even putting paper didn't help.

[Q] Sensation XE battery cover?

Hi there , brand new Sensation and i liked very much the Sensation's XE back battery cover.
Does anyone know where can we find it?
It's not even out yet so I'm guessing nowhere
I like the red accents on the camera and the speaker grill. Just don't like the beats logo on the bottom.
Don't like the red at all personally, plus it'd look weird with the white buttons on the front as opposed to the XEs red

Thats a damn good price if its a genuine HTC cover and not a cheap replica.
HTC sell them for £40.99 in the UK on their website
As an owner of a European version I can confirm this looks like an original back.
The antenna contacts are on the inside as can be seen on the second photo on Ebay.
I still wonder if the XE back cover has the same antenna contacts with our current one or not....
Damn ok so my volume rocker fell out of the back cover, apparently that happens when you open it up alot to do battery pulls, well anyways I called htc support and they covered it and sent me a new cover but I have to send my defective one back or they charge me $50+7$ shipping and handling. I also asked if I could buy a spare or preferably buy the sensation xe battery cover, they told me they dont sell them in their store or thru their support. And they dont have anything to do with the Xe since it hasnt been released in the states yet. So the only way to get one from HTC is do a warranty for the battery cover and not return the cover ( if its functional) and let them charge you the 57$. Well if you want an official one that is.

[Q] My volume rocker fell out!

I had my cracked screen replaced not too long ago from a guy online and he did a great job of it. Problem is my volume rocker fell out. He said he'd fix it, but I'd have to be without my phone for quite a while and that's a drag. It's also been a while since this happened and I'm afraid too much time has now passed to send it in.
Nothing appears to be broken on either the phone or the volume rocker, so I'm wondering if there is a relatively simple fix for this. Obviously I could just glue it, but I don't want to do that in case I break my screen again (you never know...).
Anyone have any ideas?
got any pictures?
Not terribly uncommon. If you bought it from a tmo store just call and see if they have a case to swap.

My volume rocker fell out about a month after I got this phone. I was playing angry birds and it just came out. I called HTC and they sent me a replacement back cover. Been using the new back now for a bit over a month and so far so good. Now if I can only figure out how to fix the power button issue of double clicking on occasion to wake the phone up and turn it off after the 2.3.4 update......

Right, HTC would be the ones to hit up for a new back cover...they are really good about that stuff too ( i had problems with my MT4G memory card and had to call them). Tmobile does not have them, that's why warranty phones don't ever come with a back cover or battery
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE using xda premium
The volume rocker button is a known issue with HTC. I called today and gave me the number 1-888-356-2375 to replace the back cover. It is covered under HTC 1year warranty.
Mine fell out today.
Along with the 'stuck pixels' and crappy battery life, I cant wait to upgrade. It's too bad because i really like the phone overall.
It's not part of t-mobile's warranty (just the main device is) but if the store has any returned they can trade you. Otherwise, yeah, HTC will send you one if you don't mind the wait.
They're also supposed to be releasing a software update for the power-button issues.
Mine fell out as well today. I was going to ask if instead of sending me the black and grey housing, if I can get the aluminum one. Or aluminum "looking" one. I will post my results!
I also recently heard of a battery upgrade? instead of the original 1520 mah there is now the 1950 mah? Maybe with a little kicking and screaming about the volume rocker falling out and me having to have the new housing re-ghost armored + crappy battery life "even with custom rom and kernel" 6-7 hours if im lucky, they can throw it in. I do have a gift when it comes to being a barterer :-D
My volume rocker just fell out today! So I will be contacting HTC soon!!

Replacing HTC One S Battery

I highly doubt you can replace it yourself, the back is one whole peice, I'm gonna say that your gonna have to take it to a retail store so they can replace it for you bcuz I kinda asked the same question at the store and they said to just bring in the phone and we'll replace it for you but im not too sure about that, if you don't mind taking apart your phone to replace a battery you could buy a battery from amazon or eBay and just look up how to tear down the one s but the decision is all yours, its your device.....hopefully this kinda helped you

Dont quote me on this but I've read while it's not hard to take the back out, the battery appeared to be soldered or some other way permanently attached. Not the battery itself but the wires coming from it. I heard the wires aren't just a clip connection to the board but soldered or some other way

Allow me to disagree. It appears to be a very straight forward task. You have to:
1. Remove the two plastic covers
2. Unscrew 4 screws
3. Unplug the old battery and plug in the new one
4. Screw the 4 screws, mentioned in step 2
5. Place back the plastic covers
If that sounds dangerous to you, maybe you are probably right not to do it yourself.
P.S. I do not take any responsibility whatsoever for other people's skills or lack of skills and the potential damage they may cause to their devices

Nope, we're lucky enough to get flash memory.
Dr. Rick: not yet. The UK body is not compatible with the US S. It has a different bottom. I'm waiting for the black and red US S before continuing my experiment.

Yup check the video posted in this thread by z3ra7ul, post #7 its a real nice teardown vid
You guys seem to have this pretty well covered but just thought I'd include my experience as well. A few days ago I replaced the damaged housing on my International One S because somebody was interested in buying it but then wasn't interested in my asking price because the warranty was now void..
Anyway, it was super easy. Only difference is that, while the one in the video's lower cover just pops off, mine is double-sided stickied in an elaborate pattern and was rather difficult to remove. The sticky stretches out and needs to be put back into place. It was even more difficult to get it back on properly.. but I finally got it.
But yes, The battery is easy to get at, but I don't remember seeing a connector for it (but I wasn't really looking for it specifically.. just checking things out). So I wonder if the EU version is soldered and the US version is connector?

Do you mean the used some double sided tape?
Basically you just need to pop off the top cover, then the bottom with a case opener, remove a few screws, then CAREFULLY dislodge the case from the rest of the device, be very careful here because if you use too much force the metal will bend! Then you can just use tweezers to pull the battery connector off and you can remove the battery.

Screen replacement problems

Hey everyone,
I recently bought my HOX at my local AT&T store about a month ago and managed to drop within the first 2 weeks I had it, and break both the glass and LCD. I went on ebay and bought both the LCD and glass together and installed it on my phone with no luck. Screen is totally black with no response. Everthing else works flawlessly, vibrator, capacitive buttons, and speaker. The aftermarket LCD screen's cable was straight so I had to make a fold in it like the original cable was. I worry that that might be what the problem is, though I highly doubt it. I would appreciate it greatly if someone could give me some advice on what I should do at this point. Return the LCD and glass or try something else. Thanks

Welcome, search the forum. Long story short, call HTC and have them fix it for ~$220
If you signed a contract when you bought the phone and are still within 30 days, I would just have AT&T add insurance to your line and make a claim for it.

I recently bought another replacement LCD and digitizer. Installed it in the phone still with no luck. Everything except the screen works perfectly. All the connectors and motherboard look perfect. I have called HTC and there have some of the worst tech support that I have ever experienced. Please respond...im running out of ideas.

no :-/
Try both the old one and the new one without placing it into the housing...
The problem you will face most is with the LCD strip which has to be inserted fully in the slot..
Which is very difficult to do so and needs lots of time on it...
see some Replacement videos on Youtube. It do show you step by step guide on replacing the LCD..
Just place the battery and all the connectors and try powering it on b4 inserting it into the housing..

The old LCD isn`t working anymore. The LCD Connection is fully inserted. First time i started the device with the new LCD, everything was working well. A few seconds later i got the blackscreen.

Did he pretty much fry the whole thing?
No, he's getting it to boot I believe just no screen..
Try plugging into the pc and make sure it's being recognized.

Yeah i think the new LCD is broken. With a flashlight i can see Android on the screen
So i think the backlight is broken. So i will repair the phone with a new Display and Digitizer Unit. Right?
I tried the same thing, but mine was just the glass. Forget about trying to separate LCD from glass, really you are not that skilled (any of you!). anyway, It was about 45 days after receiving my HOX and I called ATT and just told them what happened and that my phone was in 1000 pieces, said I now have a contract and no phone (though I was much more miserable and depressed sounding at the time). She said "no problem, I will just toss out this old contract and we will start from scratch" It cost me another $99 but they sent me a brand new phone. I was shocked. First time a carrier ever made me smile (other than running LTE Speed Tests)
