Hello All,
Ever since the last update a couple of days ago Whatsapp has a new bug on my phone (SG S5), the phone will vibrate on all messages even when global phone setting is set to no vibrate. I read many users are having the same issue.
Beside waiting for them to fix this, my only solution is to downgrade Whatsapp. Can I downgrade it without being removed from the groups I'm in and I have created?
Any other solution?
Thank you kindly.

From my understanding, your issue is that your phone vibrates when you receive messages even though your global settings are set to: "no vibration".
You can do this: Go into WhatsApp settings (the 3 dots in top right corner), then go to Notifications and for Vibrate select Off option on both Message notifications and Group notifications.
Thank you for your reply.
By global sttings i mean my phone ringtone settings. I have my phone to never vibrate on anything but whatsapp still vibrates on incoming messages even when its notification setting is set to "Default".
I already tried what you suggested but when I do it whatsapp will not vibrate when I set my phone on vibrate mode. Everything else will vibrate except Whatsapp. I set my phone to vibrate in my pocket when I'm working.
I have read on google play store that many users started having the problem after the last update.
I can downgrade Whatsapp by uninstalling and reinstalling the previous version via Aptoide but I'm afraid to be removed from the Whatsapp groups I have created and those I'm in.
Thank you kindly.
Any idea guys?

that's only on power saving mode when the screen turns off, right?
try WhatsApp calling after you disable the power saving mode and you will be ok.
I am from La Paz Bolivia , and was very worried , I thought that the device was damaged, and effectively without save energy , I can make calls without cuts in whatsapp and facebook , I hope you solve that problem , because the s6 did not have these problems
GS7 whasapp disconnected when enable power saving mode
I having same problem as well.

yes exactly. did you figure any way to solve it?
i tried many things but nothing worked.
im also having the same issue on my s6 edge from the day i have updated it to marshmallow. s7 has also the same problem. samsung should look into this matter.
Nope the only thing you can do is that you gonna have to disable the power saving mode
Or if the power saving mode is on you got to make sure the screen doesn't turn off.
Am unable to place whatsapp calls but whenI downloaded the latest version. I was able to place calls for sometime until it stopped again. What do I do?
Got the solution finally, all you need to do is to let apps in background to use the data or wifi and it will work, you need to customize the power plan.

hello,
i was using an ios phone before buying this samsung and almost all the apps when delivering a notification were opening the screen and showing the notification. for example xxx liked your photo, or xxx send u a msg (with content of a msg fm facebook messenger)
however on ms j7 pro sm-j730f never shows anything! only whatsapp is able to turn the screen on with huge ugly balloon showing the msg. for all the other apps it just make sound but nothing happens on the screen. you always have to press the bottom button all the time to check what came. this is really disturbing. in my office desk i always put my phone close to me and when screen opens i had been checking whats happening.
is it a bug or is there a setting to fix this?
ps: pls donot recommend AOD. since its nto the same thing
thx!

I have the same phone and I could figure out the following from this issue -
1. Check your Edge Lighting settings. Duration maybe too short.
2. Check if this app has been to deep sleep in battery settings.
3. Check the battery mode ( It may have switched to Medium or Maximum Power Save Mode)
4. If 3 is true, switch off the adaptive power saving.
5. If everything else fails to resolve the issue, make a Samsung backup and reset your phone.
Hope this helps.
