that's only on power saving mode when the screen turns off, right?
try WhatsApp calling after you disable the power saving mode and you will be ok.
I am from La Paz Bolivia , and was very worried , I thought that the device was damaged, and effectively without save energy , I can make calls without cuts in whatsapp and facebook , I hope you solve that problem , because the s6 did not have these problems
GS7 whasapp disconnected when enable power saving mode
I having same problem as well.

yes exactly. did you figure any way to solve it?
i tried many things but nothing worked.
im also having the same issue on my s6 edge from the day i have updated it to marshmallow. s7 has also the same problem. samsung should look into this matter.
Nope the only thing you can do is that you gonna have to disable the power saving mode
Or if the power saving mode is on you got to make sure the screen doesn't turn off.
Am unable to place whatsapp calls but whenI downloaded the latest version. I was able to place calls for sometime until it stopped again. What do I do?
Got the solution finally, all you need to do is to let apps in background to use the data or wifi and it will work, you need to customize the power plan.

Hello Z3 owners,
I know this is probably only 1 setting but I can't find it.
What I ment was that when I'm connected to a WiFi I'll only get messages from Whatsapp for example when I'm turning
on the screen for about 3 seconds.
Is this an energyoption ? Didn't found anything till yet.
Sorry for my bad english
Thanks in advance

Have you got stamina mode on? That mode stops the data communication while the screen is off.

Your English is better than my Spielergesprechan.
Go to the battery manager, then scroll down until you see Whatsapp (for example), and ensure you don't have `restrict background data` set for it.
In WiFi advanced settings there is an option to set if you want WiFi always on, or always on if connected to charger or off with screen off. I'm guessing its set to turn off with screen off.

Guess this was my mistake, it was set to "None ( Higher Datavolume )"
Nevermind, even with this Setting it doesn't work..
I could record my screen ( for example if I get a mail or sth ) and show it to you if needed
The messages only arrive if I unlock it.
I'm an IT-Specialist so I think I'm not that dumb :|
I really don't get what's the problem :s
Anyone else experiencing this ?

Got the solution. I had some other energysettings on.
For example: I had WLAN-Energyoptions turned on while my Stamina-Mode was off.
Or my stamina Mode was on and my WLAn-Energyoptinos were off.
Ridiculous..
My problem is solved now! Thanks for all your help.

Hello everyone,
I have my Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for two months now and I noticed a strange problem : Push notifications of certain apps not working. Only on data while screen is off. Apps like Whatsapp for exemple. If I turn on the screen on or if I press a button (even just "volume up") the notification arrives. Whatsapp is set as "authorized" in the notifications manager. The app is also checked in "protected apps". I use "Normal" mode as Energy profile. Data is set to "always on" in Network menu.
Gmail seems to work correctly on data. Everything works absolutely fine on Wi-Fi.
It seems like certain push notifications "fall aslepp" immediately after the screen has turned off and arrive if I wake the phone up by simply press a button.
Any ideas on what is going on ? It's a very annoying problem. I had an HTC One M8 before and everything worked fine...
Thanks in advance for your help. I precise that I am french, I do my best in English !

Can you be specific which apps not coming through ? Check what apps you have and you want to enable..
Do you have apps which will OVERRIDE your phone settings? And you have no idea what those apps enabling and putting in sleep..

The same problem happend for my,
Also the gmail app working good when turn screen off.
no push Notifications for certain app's like WhatsApp, Instgram, and others apps.
what is the best way to contect with Huawei?
Could this be because the apps are set to sleep when the screen is off (I.e. protected apps)?
Thus they fire into action as soon as the screen is on?
Guys check in actual app or in settings / manage apps and check individual app if notifications are ticked/on ..

To answer your second question. I tried to factory reset the phone and install those apps in first place to make sure that there are not other apps causing problem.

They are ticked /on.
I made some screenshots attached to this post to show you the different settings I have.
I precise again that all these apps have completely normal behavior on Wifi. The problem only occurs on data. I didn’t have this problem on my HTC One M8, Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
It’s very annoying because Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is an excellent smartphone !
I don’t know what to do…

I knew you have one thing wrong ...
You in your 4th picture u have all apps set to notify .. that is WRONG ....
The notify in this case doesn't mean that they will notify you but it will notify pop up if u want allow app push notifications ..
So change desired apps from notify to allow .. ! that is why you not receiving them ..
Check which apps u want 100% allow and the res you trust less select notify ..
In fact, I tried both. "Notify" and "Allow". Beside, the system asked if I wanted to authorize the app to display messages, so I tried that but nothing has changed. I tried to return to "notify" just to see, that's why it's set like that on my screenshots.
Thank you for your help !

Leave it to allow and restart phone ..
I set Whatsapp as "Allowed" and restarted the phone. I waited a few seconds till the screen turn off. I send a message to myself with another phone & another account. Nothing happens. The screen stays off. I wait a few minutes, I turn on the screen and bam, the message appears ! This is the behavior on data.
On Wi-fi, when I do the exact same thing, the screen wakes up and I receive the message immediately .
So the problem is still here... Very strange...

Okay so I'm back to B120SP04 rom as you can see on the screenshot, the flash has factory reseted my phone. So I download and install Whatsapp for a try, I applied the good settings again as you can also see on the screenshots (Protected app, Authorized). It's very annoying cause I love this phone but I have a lot of foreign contacts who use WhatsApp and I can't be on Wifi all the time...

Going flashing 127 would result same thing.. so u can stay on official 120.. there is no diff. and wait for january update..
last thing you could try to clear cache and clear data on particular app .. but don't think will help..
EDIT ; I can see you have still kernel dirty .. try flash this kernel ..http://en.ui.vmall.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=74
EDIT 2 ; just checked that there are problems on whats app in other mobiles .. is the problem only with whats app ?
or some other apps ?

I had a similar problem a long time ago on one of my samsung devices. It took me days to solve it, and finally i found one tiny setting was not correct.
I'm using my Note 3 settings and translating from dutch to english so it might be different for you, but nevertheless it could help:
settings> data usage (the one where you can set a limit for mobile data)> menu button > allow data to be synchronized automatically/in background
That's when my push messages started coming in again.
Just hope it helps.

I don't know if the exact same option exist on Huawei phones, but it could be this : "Enable always-on mobile data" in the Mobile Network Settings menu as shown on the attached screenshot...
I tried Push Notification Fixer (non-root version cause my phone is not rooted) and it doesn't solve the issue. But I don't think it could cause it's not about disconnection after some time like the problem that PNF fixes, it occurs as soon as the screen is off.
I'm not quite sure if it is an Android/Huawei issue or a WhatsApp issue. But this strange behavior occurs with at least 3 other apps so I think it's rather a system issue.
It's a bit confusing. Anyway, thank you all for your contribution !
If you can find this settings page in your phone try the 'menu' button to look if there's something similar i described (always synchronize etc...)

Been trying to find a way to shutdown the antenna without airplane mode.
I don't have 4g coverage everywhere anyway, so I figured to save some battery by shuting that down on occasion...
Anyone?

Any reason why you do not prefer the airplane mode ?
In case you are wondering, you can still turn on WiFi in airplane mode.
I'm interested too. I just got the 32gb version and the "no sim" prompt is a bit annoying. Since I don't have a sim in I don't think it's using batteries (I hope it doesn't) so it's not that bad.

There is an app in the play store called "network". Install it, open it and you can turn off the radio. Use it cautiously, you can screw up the settings if you're not careful, but it is useful for this need.

Toggle? Why can't it stay in airplane mode all the time?
Well answer is simple, in the course of a day I can enter and leave 4g/ lte /3g zones up to 10 times , and on occasion it would be nice to be able to very quickly turn on and off the 4g radio. Using the power button ( the button is a tad too "mushy" , on occasion I struggle to press it correctly) or browsing through the menus to find the toggle is a hassle ( specially now that you can't edit the toggles in the notification bar, thank you lollipop)
I think Lollipop has dynamic toggles, meaning once you access a setting a few times it would be added to your quick settings for easy access, or removed if you don't use it. I've noticed this on my phone (Moto G), but I haven't really given it any attention on my Shield tablet. It is possible Nvidia didn't keep this functionality I suppose.
Anyone know of a way to "force the issue" so to speak?
As in force lollipop to show the toggles I need....
The best solution I can think of is a 3rd party app. Power Toggles might be a good one.

You could use an RFID tag that is used with the app 'RFID Task Launcher' to turn on airplane mode and then turn on WiFi. You could setup when you tap once again to then turn off airplane mode (wifi will stay on).
Wouldn't that require root?

Problem is that lollipop seems to block third party access to ,amongst other things airplane mode
the best I've been able to do is set up a widget that sends me to the correct menu tab in settings so I can "flip" the airplane mode switch

I have the same phone and I could figure out the following from this issue -
1. Check your Edge Lighting settings. Duration maybe too short.
2. Check if this app has been to deep sleep in battery settings.
3. Check the battery mode ( It may have switched to Medium or Maximum Power Save Mode)
4. If 3 is true, switch off the adaptive power saving.
5. If everything else fails to resolve the issue, make a Samsung backup and reset your phone.
Hope this helps.
I have a Samsung A04S with Android 13 en OneUI 5.1
For some reason when receiving a Whatsapp call while the screen is off, the phone doesn't always ring. When turning on the screen afterwards, a missed Whatsapp call then pops up. It always rings when the screen is already on.
It only happens when connected to Wifi, the issue disappears when using 4G.
I have:
- Checked permissions for Whatsapp
- Disabled "sleep" mode for Whatsapp in the background
- Switch automatically to 4G when Wifi signal is weak is ON, I also set this for Whatsapp specifically
The weird part is that it's random and doesn't always happen even when calling the A04S from the same phone.
What's the issue here and how can I fix this?
Did you find a solution for it?
