Try it again. Or maybe you got the wrong file. Or international/Verizon/AT&T version etc.
Best to post in the dev thread. All the best.

why are you posting this in the development section?
there is a Q&A for this type of stuff.
ask a mod to move it.
now... that being said...
whats the problem.
the instructions can be a bit wierd but if you just follow them step by step and do exactly what it says then you will be fine.
but i too have had issues with installing CWM via rom manager and i do not suggest using it unless you have several hours to keep trying over and over until it works.
you would be better off flashing a rom via Odin3 that already has clockwork installed like the stock roms with CWM and then doing what ever you need to from there.
so... whats the problem?
i will do what i can where i can to help.

Boot Loop Samsung GT-S6802

Hello,
I know this problem it's nothing new. I try to explain my problem anyway because I couldn't find a solution yet.
I try to root my Samsung GT-S6802 but when I reboot the boot screen won't disappear. I find on XDA I have to use Odin, but it's hard to find the original rom, it's okay if I use a different one? Please suggest me a rom, because I'm pretty newbie at this.
Thanks.

The only thing i found for this phone besides root ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759284 ) witch worked perfect for me, is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832071 just that this is indian firmware
It sounds like you have a soft brick. Maybe you should try flashing your stock firmware back using flashtool. this will make your device normal again.
Keep in mind that new roms on first boot will take longer to boot up than usual. 10-15 minutes.
I have created a guide for the x8 about getting out of a soft brick HERE
Even though it isn't the same phone, try it.
Please thank me if you appreciate my effort to help.
Try to odin maybe helps.
i think is better to go to the store where you bought it and ask for a new phone or service couse it should be free.... beeing a new phone

Need help after rooting

Hi all i am new to this forum.
I bought this Samsung galaxy note few days back from a frnd of mine...i have rooted this phone after researching for so many days as to how to...got it rooted also got the su icon..but as i was expecting to be able to uninstall all the stock apps after rooting...probably it was not so...i did read instructions online n used ESFile Explorer to uninstall those stock apps such as Google+ but could not find it there, tried to uninstall crayon physics, deleted it but there is ghost like icon still
there showing memory card against that icon. I want it fully gone n also to be able to find other apps such as google+
Apart from this please help me as to how to install a custom rom n what does that have to do with kernel flashing..i tried to search but found so many kernels n roms that do not know which one would be the first one (rom or kernel). The current android version is 4.0.3 n i would love to install Jelly bean if u guyz can help me. My current kernel version is 3.0.15-N7000XXXLPY-CL-474507...i am probably asking too many questions but i would really appreciate if u guyz can help me..n yes forgot to mention that i did install ROM Manager n backed up my current ROM...thanks

Answer to first question: Get Titanium backup you can un install apps or freeze them but be careful what you get rid of
Galaxy S3
Omega rom V34
The system apps will be in /system/app. Go there, with R/W, delete the app u want. And as said above, BE CAREFUL! U delete the wrong one, u might have to flash the whole ROM over again to get that back!

Complete noob here. I am wanting to root my Rogers Samsung Galaxy S3 i747M. The reason for this is that I would like to uninstall all the Rogers apps and the stock Samsung Music Player. Also, will my phone appear the same after rooting? All apps would still work as they do now?
If I use ChainFire AutoRoot will I be able to uninstall the above mentioned apps without problems? And would I have to do this by installing/buying Titanium Backup? Should I also install/run? Triangle Away to reset the flash counter? I am still under warranty and would like to remain able to use if necessary (I believe I would have to unroot if warranty work required)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

[Q] What is the safest way to Wipe/Factory Reset but still retain Stock Recovery?

I want to give my brother my Singapore XSP 7.7, one benefit of XSP is OTA upgrades in the event of a future Jelly Bean release. Technically he is not up to the jumping through hoops that most of us take for granted as part and parcel of Android ownership.
I understand that there are considerable and probably unacceptable risks involved in performing a factory reset via either the device itself or via the Android Stock Recovery.
The preferred method seems to be Root/CWM/Wipe.
The problem with this as I understand it, is that OTA will not complete if a custom Recovery is detected.
Is it possible to revert to Android Stock Recovery once CWM has been flashed?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Yes, it is possible.
If I have time tomorrow I'll whip up a flashable zip to flash android stock recovery from CWM. I can only test on my P6810, but should only need to check the updater-script for the correct partition Dev/block for P6800 model.
I have done this for my SGS 3, so method is proven.
Which model?

NEVER tick re-partition unless you have a correct PIT file. Many Samsung Users that have no idea have bricked their devices this way........
The OP had never indicated he wanted to also lose root, so using Odin will certainly do that.........

Although untested on my device (P6810), this should work for P6800. After flash, reboot recovery to see the change.
If you want to remove root, SuperUser app & BusyBox - flash the Uninstaller immediately BEFORE the stock recovery.
This process will take just a couple of seconds
You can test with this excellent app: Root Validator
No problem, sometimes it's nice to go that extra step when (trying) to be helpful
Let us know how you went.

I live in London and my brother in Dublin so my ability to help him troubleshoot is restricted.
My intention is to give him as trouble free an experience as possible. To that end then removing Root is probably prudent. So, thank you again.

Thank you for the suggestion but, on account of my basic knowledge level, messing with partitions scares me.
I don't know what your ps means but I assume it is not intended for me.

In preparation, I decided to re-flash with the stock ROM so as to have the o/s like new. I used Mobile Odin Pro for this.
It was beyond my expectation but Mobile Odin Pro also reverted the Recovery to Stock 3e. Leaving just the UnRoot to be done. There are a few Root dependent apps that I want to check out beforehand.
I have archived your files and this will allow me greater freedom for future mods. Not just for my brother's 7.7 but also my own.
The fact that I can change to CWM Recovery and also obtain Root and then return to Stock is very liberating.
Thanks for the heads up on Root Validator.
