[Q] Samsung Tab 2 Bluetooth Keyboard BKC-1B1 CM10.1 not working - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i am here for the first time, used the Search Function, but didn't find the solution.
my Problem:
Samsung P5100, in the moment running cm-10.1-20130103-NIGHTLY-p5100.zip, it runs very well.
As a Christmas Gift I got a Bluetooth-Keyboard Samsung Tablet Keyboard BKC-1B1
with the CM-10.1 firmware pairing is possible, but all the keys don't have any function.
Going back to stock firmware (Android 4.0.3 or 4.0.4), the keyboard works perfectly.
Again CM-10.1 - pairing ok, but not even one key is working.
Now, I tried another thing.
I have a smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S) running CM-10.1, too (cm-10.1-20130103-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd.zip since today)
And, what happens? Pairing OK, and - the keyboard works.
Now my question: where is the little difference between the tablet and the phone?
I'm looking forward to your answers and ideas.
If you need any more info - no problem...
thanks so far
Michael

thx for your hint.
in the meantime i tried AOPK-Rom (Milestone1 or so), but this was not so pretty (AOSP keyboard crashes....), and it looks like not beeing quite finished....
I wanted to test the kernel you suggested, so I first installed CM10.1 Nightly 2013-01-17 and gapps latest gapps.
Nothing else, no wlan, sim-card is empty, no restore of apps from cloud, only bluetooth.
And what happens? the bluetooth keyboard could be paired - and works !!
Still running the kernel which came with cm10.1 (3.0.8 CM gf818e15 [email protected]#1)
the german key mapping doesn't work, but I think this is to be solved with one of the nice tools from the play store.
Until now I have wlan running, updated some apps, made email account, and bt-keyboard is still working.
Tomorrow I will install 1 app after the other and looking for the bluetooth keyboard - we'll see which one kills it.
thanks so far for your help
cheers

CM6 V6.1.0-RC2 2.6.32 Test Kernel

This is a test release with a new kernel 2.6.32 based from legend kernel source modified by cyanogen and attn1 to work on cm6. I am looking for reports on wifi and bluetooth mostly. Since this just replaces the kernel in 6.1.0 RC2. I don't want bug reports of issues already mentioned in the main 6.1.0 RC2. Please contain them to wifi and bluetooth. Overclock is included. I basically want to make sure your wifi runs good and the bluetooth works with your headsets/a2dp devices.
Thanks for testing

Changelog?
Is the included overclock already clocked higher or is it set at stock?
It would be great to have more info on this please! I may test it out once you can include more information.
The os itself is the same it's just a kernel change. Going from 2.6.29 in the other release to 2.6.32 in this test release. It's basically a subsystem change. You won't see any cosmetic change. I just want to make sure it doesn't cause any issues before attn1 and I add it to the next cm release. The only reason I mention OC is because this kernel still has it in it. So you will have the same OC features as the 2.6.29 kernel. Hope this helps explain what has changed.
Just curious if this .32 kernel will pave the way for FM radio support?
Wifi is working fine for me so far. I don't use any bluetooth devices, so haven't tested that.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
downloaded, haven't flashed it yet. There's still no nls_utf8.ko in /system/lib/modules. I know how to compile one, but I'll appreciate if you guys could make a small change in the config.
Code:
CONFIG_NLS_UTF8=m
That would save my trouble.
Wifi is working fine; tested both Wifi data connection and Wifi tethering (actually posting this using Wifi tethering). BT paired with Plantronics 520 headset is working and BT Voice Dialer was launched when I selected the headset button.
Do you just flash this?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
You install it the same way you install the cm6-rc2.

I made a kernel with your change. You'll still need to install the first package on this page before you install this kernel update. What is is for nls_utf8 used for anyways? Does this kernel update do what you need it to?

Thank you so much!!
nls_utf8 should always comes with cifs. With this module, we can mount cifs with "iocharset=utf8" option to access files that have special characters in their names. This is quite important for non-english users who use cifs.
WiFi seems be fine here. Bluetooth connects and working fine with Blue Eagle ll headset.

Thanks for your input guys, if I could get some more it would be great. CM6.1 final will be out in the next couple of days so I'd like to get as much feedback as possible before then.
Bluetooth is connecting fine with my Nokia headset (BH-503). Wifi is working no different for me (aka, it works).
Tether working great for me don't know about Bluetooth don't ever use it but everything else is great!
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Wifi's fine. Cifs's working and it's good to have utf8 support.
Don't have any BT device to test on.
Wifi working for me. Just the kernel flashed over the latest nightly.
Downloaded this, ran it through it's paces as best I could. Connected two bluetooth devices (jabra and jawbone) worked without any glitches or weirdness. I also moved between several wifi spots WEP, WPA, and unsecured without issue.
Need any other info let me know.
I can also verify wifi working perfectly.
(no bluetooth devices to test that)
Only ROM in the CM series that works with my WIFI router (WPA-PSK). Had tired the most recent CM version and really liked the expanded dock along the bottom that allowed up to 5 icons to be placed there, but again, no wireless. Guess I'll stay with this one till Gingerbread comes out, Right...

[Q] CM7 on SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro without Google account

Hi!
I installed slade87's latest CM7 ROM on my Mini Pro - thanks for the great work, I didn't try all too much, the UI feels really really snappy, and the GPS seems to work better than with the stock ROM.
However, I do wonder if I can somehow avoid having to enter a Google account on this ROM. The original ROM didn't require it (just for selected features), but the CM7 ROM doesn't even allow me to even make calls without a Google account.
I couldn't figure out if this is caused by CM7, or if it is an upstream Gingerbread issue. Maybe there is another ROM for the Mini Pro I should be looking at in order to avoid this problem?
Froyo CM6-latest works
Using the latest CM6 ROM I found, I didn't have that problem. The Google account is only requested for apps that actually need it. Is there any Android 2.3 ROM which works the same way?
worked for me i leave it till i want market as i can st up wifi first i do have net but wifi is faster i asume your using 14.5 as i am and its fine

[ROM][Googlecode release] FINAL version 20.11.2011 r175

Hey guys,
as promised, here is our FINAL release of the Froyo Sense ROM.
Link to download:
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/downloads/list
What's new ?
- tun.ko module for VPN Services added
- cleaned up the release
- fixed several minor bugs
- added new audio & acoustic workaround:
* Volume now fully working, in call & with headset
* fixed the Mic Echo bug
* see Status here: http://htc-linux.org/wiki/index.php?title=PhotonAcousticDevelopment
(Unfortunately didn't fix FM Radio yet, also BLUETOOTH-Audio Routing, i do not have a headset :/ )
Have Fun!
Additional installation instructions:
We recommend not to make an update!
- Give it some more minutes on first boot before you start with the installationwizard
- Restart after setup
- Use Wifi to get latest market updates
- When you are having problem's with 3G connection (APN etc) add the 3G fix from Download Section!
FAQ:
What does "FINAL" release mean?
It means that development on this froyo release with HTC sense has stopped
Why has it stopped?
Froyo is too old, has no longer official support by google and there are no new updates by HTC. Also, most of the applications are proprietary and the ROM is a native Liberty ROM, it makes no sense to continue development there.
And now?
It seems that the "Google Code Page" project will be stopped.
But don't panic! I have started developing on new android & kernel sources some weeks ago, I am also waiting for a developing workaround for nand boot, so be patient, there will be a big update within the next 2-3 weeks
Feel free to report BUGs, but don't forget that there won't be any updates on this in future!
thnx very much for your effort and time ... and good luck in your next project
i will test it .
Thank a lot for all
Thanks for the great efforts, every update is wellcomed.
Can you fix Arabic support ? there is a reported issue about it in google code.
thanks
great job dude, as always

thank you tzacapaca and best regards.
Thank you very much, Schlund, & All Developers...
The something I like to tell if i'm understand:
the devs won't work on Android 2.2 froyo anymore. and the devs will start work on newer Android versions (for ex: Gingerbread, or maybe IceCream ), and also continue project fixing bugs: like Video, Graphic.
Hope I understand Right.
anyway, I'm very Thankfully.
Nice. And the battery problem is solved?
Thank you so much devs for this great work.
thank you
thank you and other devs!
First feedback
To be honnest, I don't really feel a clear improvement, may be the OS is more fast.
But the big bug for me, is that while the phone is connected to USB for charge, the phone is very, very, very slow...
There must be a kind of process running in parallel while usb is plugged on, that slows everything.
NB: I have only test the USB charge via a PC usb port, not on sector.
Cheers.

[ROM][14-02-13][Flinny] Andromadus - AOSP4.2.2[9]

Andromadus - Test Builds
To start with here you will find test versions of ROMs built by me from the Andromadus github repo http://github.com/Andromadus, think of them along the same concept as nightly builds just not every night These are development ROM's, if you want to run bleeding edge development ROM's and at least know how to use adb and logcat then you might find something of interest here. If you require something that works 100% of the time all of the time then this might not be for you. That said you can always give it a try and if it doesn't work restore your previous nandroid backup!
What IS Andromadus?
Initially it was a group of people who got together to make ICS work on the HTC Desire Z because nobody else seemed to want to support devices with physical hardware keyboards/trackpads. Whilst the idea stays the same It has grown slightly to support some other hardware and some of the work we have done is now used in many other devices. Andromadus builds of CM10 or CM10.1 are basically CM sources with a few additional tweaks or additions to support our phones.
1. New versions will be added as and when I feel there are enough changes to warrant one, don’t ask when the next version is coming.
2. If we decide to release a "Stable" version of these roms they will be published in another Andromadus thread.
Direct all your queries with release versions to that thread and in the same vain do not discuss these releases anywhere but here.
3. I will do as best I can to answer questions but if you don't get an answer from me I'm sure somebody else will be along to help. Help each other and I have more time to spend fixing things!
4. Don't ask for what's changed since the previous version, have a look at the recent submits on the Andromadus github if you want to know or wait for the mini changelogs when I post a new release.
5. If there is something in particular to test it'll be mentioned!
6. As always if you didn't wipe between installations then at least verify that the problem exists on a clean install before posting here. Nandroid/superwipe/install/check at the end of the day you can always restore your nandroid if the problem is reproducible on a clean installation. If you can't be bothered to try this then I really can't be bothered to try to help you :>
7. All that said ensure you make a nandroid/backup before hand. I take no responsibility for what you do to your phone with these ROM.
8. Whilst I can't stop you I would rather these builds were not used as a base for any ROM/MOD/ETC. The source is all available if you want to do your own builds with which you can do whatever you like.
9. Tell us what works/what's worse/what's better but don't ***** when something breaks or isn't fixed yet, report it and move on.
10. Sometimes people forget that we do this for fun, for ourselves, and sometimes your super important issue is way down on our personal list of things to be fixed.
If you ignore any of the above you will in turn be ignored.
Now that's all out of the way as always have fun
As usual you need to flash the ROM then GAPPS.
Checkout http://andromadus.flinny.org for links/files/changelog's
This a team/community effort, I'll not list everyone who has helped along the way here that list is in the beta thread but I will say thanks to all of them again and obviously anyone that has been missed.

Build 5 was pretty stable, interested to see what has changed.
Tapatalked from Desire S running Andromadus
Build 5 was first build i used of AOSP 4.2 and it was fantatic experience, i never expected 4.2 to work so flawlessly on desire s so fast after release. And to be honest i did not see many bugs.
So i flashed build 6 and i was not disapointed, as you said you will release only stable and advanced releases and it was the point with 4.2 build6.
It would be nice to see official changelog, but i have noticed some nice little resize job done and few small glitches fixed.
I just found one thing i dont know how to fix. On android keyboard swype Lithuanian dictionary doesnt work. It is not in official list until i refresh it and then it pops up and i install it ( it worked well with build 5) and with build 6 it just doesnt work, and when i return to dictionary list there is no Lithuanian dictionary again .
Sensors are not working properly. When i make a call, screen turns off even when i don't block the sensors and it stays that way till the time call is going
Sorry man posted it in wrong thread. Its for andromadus cm 10.1 but do look into the matter as its really is irritating

Yeah, that is for devices with On Screen buttons (Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 4/7/10). For those, the buttons are replaced with a dotted circle on the lockscreen, swiping up from which opens Google Now. Since AOSP doesn't officially support any device without hardware buttons, Google probably thought that it would be best to remove the option from the lockscreen, since swiping from the buttons opens that anyways
Trouble with bluetooth
Hi,
Thanks for your work on this rom!
I would like to report an issue with the Bluetooth functionality in this (and earlier) versions of this rom. In my circumstance it doesn't produce an error of crash.
For example. My phone is connected with a handsfree carkit (parrot) and when entering the car it recognizes the phone, asks for pin code and 'gets connected'. The problem is that the phone is not visible (as usual) on the handsfree device and the overall functionality does not work.
If I can be of any assistance in this I'll gladly be of help.
Thanks for your work!
Well Google switched the bluetooth plugin in 4.2 from bluez to bluedroid. It has been causing issues across devices, even Nexus 7 has issues. As Flinny said we can't do much unless someone upstream fixes it.

Flinny, almost everything works great.
Issues I found (AOSP build 6):
- laggy Camera animations (not very important, maybe it cannot be better),
- high Android OS battery usage (battery really lasts less),
- dictionaries other than English doesn't work with swype keyboard feature,
- some people wrote about bluetooth audio issues.
ROM is very smooth, hope it will be smooth in next builds. Great work!

camera animations do lag sometimes and some pictures you take tend to not show up in gallery after you have taken them.
As for battery all i can say is :highfive: battery is almost same in all 4.0/4.1/ 4.2 roms AND it is not at all bad here. I managed to get from full charge(100%) to 81% in 30 hours. I doubt many roms can do something like this in low-med usage.
Other then that this rom is my personal favorite until someone release 4.2 rom with better theme or perfomance.
The only thing i lack in here is conservative cpu governor and maybe little undervoltage.

Who can tell me how can I put GPS shortcut on quick setting ??I have everything I need except GPS shortcut...
Anyone else have an issue where Calendar just wont sync at all to any Google account? I don't have the options to sync calendars under any of the google accounts I've set up on the device. Tried reflashing, clearing app data etc.
Apart from that, great rom. Super nice battery life.

Clean or dirty install?
By dirty install remove Google accound(s) and then add your accound(s) again.
Worked for me!
For JB4.2 based roms (CM10.1 and AOSP4.2)
if you use a BT headset and are having problems with the mic give this a try.
download the following file.
http://andromadus.flinny.org/libbt-vendor.zip
extract it
Push it to your phone with adb - from the command line
adb remount
adb push libbt-vendor.so /system/vendor/lib
adb reboot
try it now.
Give it a try again and tell me if it all works... If all goes to plan new builds soon
Nick.

[Q] [ROM][PROBLEM] Slimkat 4 Official and GPS problem

Hello everyone,
I have GPS problems with the latest release "Slim-xt925-4.4.2.build.4-OFFICIAL-3648".
GPS is not available with GPS status or GPS Checker apps and I can't locate myself on maps.
When I run maps for the first time after installing Slimkat with CWM 6.0.4.4. (from my original rom "JB 4.2.1 vodafone-en" which is adapted for SFR (french provider)), GPS works well. But when I change gps parameters, or just change gps function with the widget controller, GPS doesn't work anymore.
I've got the same problem with other roms like CM11.
By the way, this release of Slimkat rocks in every point. Stable, fast and well build. Love it. Except that GPS issue. Don't know what to do.
I've read that it works with "dirty flash" or location could be blocked by "privacy protection" app. I also read a topic about the same problem but for Samsung galaxy S4 and peoples are talking about flashing the "pit". It's something I never heard before on XT925 flashing method. It may just belong to samsung flashing method. Or not.
I try to find a solution on many XDA thread and on other forums but nothing appear clear or understandable to me.
If someone have any clue about that GPS issue, it would be a great pleasure to read you.
Cheers.

It was a bad commit on their last stable release. If you would read the Slim thread, you would see that they are aware of the issue and are working to fix it.
