Hi everyone!
I'm too excited about the new JB release. Of course, i've installed yesterday. I couldn't wait ^^
So, here's my question:
When i was using ICS i made a nandroid backup with bootmanager. Just in case.
Now, am i able to restore it in Jellybean? Or just am i able to restore it in ICS only?
Sorry if the post is too short
i believe that's not possible , a nandroid backup saves only os files, not kernel data, that means you would be tryin to run ics on a jb kernel , like you said, ics restore is only possible when you are already running an ics rom

And is there an alternative for the future users (Or even for me) to pass all my ICS data, to my new JB?

i don't know about that, but i don't think so, since they've added some buildt in user available storage i must think that partitions have changed also , but since i cannot confirm that is just a guess

Yes, in jellybean the kernel is 3.0.8. I don't remember the version of the kernel in ics. But i think is 3.0.8 too.

Does anyone a link for it? And if you do, it's compatible with any rom, not just CM9 right?

Not jellybean but the new cm9 kernel... sorry if I'm sounding like an idiot

Bahahahahaha. Hilarious! Seriously though, I think he didn't mean Android 5.0, maybe 5.0 is the kernel build number? I don't know for sure but maybe that's what he meant. Either way this made me laugh my ass off.
OP, a simple search would wield results much quicker than posting a new thread. Good luck.

The cm9 thread says v 4.0.4 v5.0 so that's why I had it. The one on I could find was the one on BMs 4.0.4 stock ICS thread but its not the newest kernel.

download the rom then pull out the boot.img. you can flash it via fastboot or the terminal emulator. i dont know how compatible itll be with other non-cm based roms. if it doesnt boot, just reflash your rom.
I have a stock xoom wifi us version. It say their is a update available for my system. I go to update it and it go thru the process and then restart. But when it restart it is still on 3.2 and it keep pooping up saying that their is a update available. What is going on is their something I need to do different. Should I just root it and but custom rom on it ?

However, to answer your question, you should just install a custom ROM. They are nicer.

install a custom rom.
Have you ever rooted it, or flashed any custom roms? I think that can interfere with OTA updates.
Either way, all you have to do is install a custom rom. I recommend the EOS ICS 1.0.0 rom. Check it out here.
Nightlies are better and have more features.

No! Nightlies are different
Only use nightlies if you know what it is. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has difficulties updating his stock rom...
Getting the update message on EOS 1.0.0 now. I will agree this ROM is much better than stock

reading and searching are key...
Yeah I'm working on a new one so just hold tight
will wait for matr1x kernel for JB
I am running CM10 because I wanted a taste of jelly bean, but now that jb is being rolled out for the Nexus s 4g I am wondering if it will still do the automatic update from sprint? I would rather use Sprints version of jb for the nexus s 4g. Will the OTA update still be sent to my phone if it is not running the stock rom?
No.

But isn't it possible that Sprint made a better running ROM for this phone that CM did? Can I expect the CM Jelly Bean ROMs to get better for the Nexus S 4g because Sprint released their version?
I know my noobness is showing but seriously I am trying

Your choice: stock rom (sprint ota) vs custom rom (cm10). Custom rom gives you more tweaks, enhancements, better battery life, etc...
A little bit of googling for sprint nexus s 4g ics factory images will take you right to the google page with the factory images. After flashing the 4.0.4 image, the jb ota should arrive. Of course read all instructions before flashing, and you will lose all apps/data

Hi, I just wanted to know if any of the android 4.X roms are anywhere near stable enought to be used as a normal phone OS?
What I mean by stable is: receives calls correctly, camera & bluetooth works, doesnt bug out or crash randomly...
Im currently using Kyrillos v9.6 so I wouldnt really want to trade this rom in for one that is less stable tho 2.2 is getting old real dast and Im not going to lie I really want holo.
You can try to use any GB room. Kyrillos rom v10.6 is very smooth
Sorry for my bad english

When you say the camera doesnt save, do you mean the stock android camera app?
I have various apps that use the camera for things like: scanning bar codes, scanning and saving business cards, facebook & other apps for uploading photos...
Would these kind of apps still work?
Also comming from Kyrrillos v9.6 whats the best way to move over to AOKP?
I guessing, save all contacts, messages and make a backup with Titanium
I just tried to flash it using the guide to odin in the android dev section, and odin does its work, the phone reboots for the first time, goes into CMW, I install the patch for AOKP from zip, wipe user data, and reboot.
Then the phone starts, it looks like its going to play the android animation but I get a blank screen then the cycle just continues
I seem to have got it working, but Is it not possible to move apps to the SD card?
I have my sd partitioned and I tried moving using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&hl=en
But when im in the applications setting and I click on move to usb device It just starts moving then says cant move.
Sorry to keep asking in here but I cant post in the main thread yet

If you use S2E JB is Working
Then download and install S2E-JB.apk like any regular app from Here
1. How big is you SD card ???? is hawing a partition from before ???
____ Thel me that and then start all other _____
2. start the app, options are greyed out (that's normal)
3. MENU -> Settings -> Mount as ext4 -> reboot your phone
4. options still greyed out? format your sd-ext using clockworkmod (mounts and storage -> format /sd-ext)
5. check boxes for Applications and Private apps -> reboot your phone
6. never worry about a2sd again
if somethings is not booting yust wheat it will boot up .... trust me ... *
and after this right me what you have done if it all ok*
When i was on AOKP JB i downloaded S2E from the playstore and it worked fine.
Is YouTube working in aokp 4.1.1
