Does anyone a link for it? And if you do, it's compatible with any rom, not just CM9 right?

LMAO Man I needed a good laugh
Not jellybean but the new cm9 kernel... sorry if I'm sounding like an idiot

Bahahahahaha. Hilarious! Seriously though, I think he didn't mean Android 5.0, maybe 5.0 is the kernel build number? I don't know for sure but maybe that's what he meant. Either way this made me laugh my ass off.
OP, a simple search would wield results much quicker than posting a new thread. Good luck.

The cm9 thread says v 4.0.4 v5.0 so that's why I had it. The one on I could find was the one on BMs 4.0.4 stock ICS thread but its not the newest kernel.

download the rom then pull out the boot.img. you can flash it via fastboot or the terminal emulator. i dont know how compatible itll be with other non-cm based roms. if it doesnt boot, just reflash your rom.

I cannot share them exactly... i got them from a Paid Application called Absolute System. It's a root tool I strongly recommend this app. But anyway i can share a link with you from a flashable .zip here on XDA.

I too use that font. If you are going to use the flashable zip on a gingerbread rom you have to downgrade to cwr 2.5.1.x with amend script support.
there is a pure 2.3 gingerbread that faux put out. its not CM or anything its a base ASOP thats been built straight from google code if you want to check it out. its in the rom development area.
Yeah, was going to recommend Faux's AOSP build in the dev section. I haven't used it, but it is probably as close to pure AOSP as you are going to get and still be functional. Check it out.
Don't forget about ultimate Droid, 3.2.0 new for mytouch that has Gingerb, and idk if its vanilla but I can install the rom with 2.5.1.2 recovery, if that means anything at all lol

Yeah, it's a great ROM also, but we aren't "supposed to speak of it” even though he now credits Cyanogen in the ROM

I looked that ROM up.. its what I was looking for (thankyou), but development has stopped for personal reasons for now its not the most stable build right now

I have been running Elite Mod and then gummy nex for over a month now I believe but now the flashing junkie inside of me is coming out and I'm urged to see what other development is going on. So what is everybody running these days? I wanna try something new for a while. I was thinking about the ICS MIUI or swamp goblins dianxin port that is similar to it, I love the MIUI look and style. I know that I will in fact end up going back to GummyNex after a while I just wanna check something else out for a bit and calm my flashing urges. Lol. So any opinions?
Edit: Flashed a couple other roms and needed around with them for a bit. Decided none could live up to Gummy so I went back. Lol. Anyways. This thread is now useless. Mods please delete.

all you gotta do is watch his thread to see what the status update is on his kernels, also read the thread of the JB ROM your flashing to see what other users are saying
reading and searching are key...
Yeah I'm working on a new one so just hold tight
will wait for matr1x kernel for JB
I have never used a stock rom unless I bought a new phone and was working on installing a custom one, so I'm new to stock roms. I have the stock JB rom and I tried to flash air kernel to my device. As I was booting up, it wouldn't go past the Google splash screen. Are custom kernels not supported on stock roms?
Sent from my A500
I've flashed custom kernels on rooted stock plenty of times. It may just be that Air Kernel is having issues with some phones. I know SimpleKernel works, but it's basically stock with BLN and Voodoo. A few people on JellyBelly ROM had issues with Air Kernel too, so it's not just stock that's having issues with it.
OK. Do you know if matr1x kernel works or not?

Looking for a good base rom to use for porting i am just getting started with this and have read several how to's on the subject, just need some suggestions to get started.
A good idea would be to use cyanogenmod alternative.
For example if it's a gingerbread Rom then use cm 7 and so on.
Even I am not so good at this.
So forgive me I am wrong

Are you porting AOSP or SENSE?

Yeah, depends on what you're porting, but you should use equivalent base roms, like ICS -> ICS, GB -> GB and so on
JB -> JB.....
Sent from my PG06100 using xda premium
Also if porting sense, be sure to do the same thing with the sense version. 2.2 to 2.2, 3.0 to 3.0 ect. One more thing is to only port deodex ROMs. There is a lot less work that way.
And make sure you get permission to use the base ROM and the ROM you are porting before you post anything up.
