Is there a Vanilla Gingerbread ROM for the mytouch4G?
I know theres the Cyanogen ROM but thats not a vanilla ROM... I be more then willing to make one but then i don't have the Gingerbread drivers or the AOSP... Last time i tried making an Android ROM for my HD2 progress didn't go no where near flashing

I cannot share them exactly... i got them from a Paid Application called Absolute System. It's a root tool I strongly recommend this app. But anyway i can share a link with you from a flashable .zip here on XDA.

I too use that font. If you are going to use the flashable zip on a gingerbread rom you have to downgrade to cwr 2.5.1.x with amend script support.
there is a pure 2.3 gingerbread that faux put out. its not CM or anything its a base ASOP thats been built straight from google code if you want to check it out. its in the rom development area.
Yeah, was going to recommend Faux's AOSP build in the dev section. I haven't used it, but it is probably as close to pure AOSP as you are going to get and still be functional. Check it out.
Don't forget about ultimate Droid, 3.2.0 new for mytouch that has Gingerb, and idk if its vanilla but I can install the rom with 2.5.1.2 recovery, if that means anything at all lol

Yeah, it's a great ROM also, but we aren't "supposed to speak of it” even though he now credits Cyanogen in the ROM

A) Correct
B) Err... I don't recall reading that in the op?
The original omgb ported to the hero was pure AOSP source with no cyanogen at all as far as I could see... His omfgb rom has cyanogen features but all this one includes is the Tmobile Theme Chooser (which most people seem to think is Cmod only...). If the hero ever got an official 2.3 OTA this rom would be it.
Edit: The simplest way to put it is that this rom is to Cyanogenmod 7 what Aospmod 2.2 was to Cyanogenmod 6.

I know the news has been going about that official source has been released for ICS an course like a lot of other people are wondering what it can be ported over to. Now me i personally have no clue how to translate all the technobabble dealing with creating roms from source but I'm sure there people here that do understand it all what would it take to get ICS on our phones? Like i said i have no clue in reality what goes into rom creating with phone drivers an framework tweaking (i know our phone is "special") but just curious.
Nobody here can get gingerbread on it let alone ics. Don't hold your breathe for either one. Lol

well isn't the issue with GB that we DON"T have the source code for GB so you can't hand make a kernal for our device? While with ICS with the source out we could hand make the kernal and the roms so they work on out system if i'm understanding how to create a android rom an kernal correctly its easier to work from source then from SDKs or porting a rom from another.
The issue with porting GB is that we don't have a source designed for our phone. there's all sorts of GB sources released, but none that have been designed for our phone. That ICS source is the same source that CM is based on, it's AOSP (all open source project), but it still requires a newer kernel.

Hey folks,
So the Chrome team finally released Chrome for Android and you can find it here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.chrome
But it seems like it doesn't support the G2x?
I can't find it on the Market App on my phone, and when I go directly to its page on the web and try to install it, it doesn't show a supported device. I wonder if this is only for rooted G2x's with custom ROMs, or if it just won't work on the G2x.
I have the latest SinghUI on mine, but I suspect Chrome just doesn't support LGE LG-P999's at all right now. Is it just me or is this happening to anyone else?
You need to have ICS (Android 4.0) for this app.
When you look at apps on market.android.com, it will show that on the right hand side, this app says:
REQUIRES ANDROID:
4.0 and up
So yes, doesn't support G2X yet, as G2X doesn't have 4.0
It only works with ICS according to the press release.
Oh. Duh. Thanks.

Galnet MIUI is just a gimmick created to get users to use and support their work. Looks and functions exactly like Gingerbread MIUI.
If you go into most miui threads alot of people think they're running ics. A friend of mine who I didn't know was into hacking android was showing someone how he was running ics on his old htc. If Galnet is really ICS, then why wouldn't there be a stock version of ICS for the G2x.....Guys just think about it for a second before jumping to conclusions!!!!!

I don't think MIUI users think they are using ICS at least I hope not. They just added some ICS functions into the framework, but since the Galnet lists the OS as 4.0 in the system information it might work most likely not though.

why would it work if it doesn't have actual 4.0? also i was reading somewhere chrome is not supporting flash (or i guess adobe is not supporting chrome..whatever is politically correct).
It won't work and I remember reading that also about chrome not having flash supported in it

Some MIUI users, like myself, are running official MIUI v4. Which indeed is ICS. So there!
