Hello all,
I used to have CM10 installed, but I decided to give SlimBean a shot on my AT&T Skyrocket. I downloaded the 3.1 ROM (Slim-i727-3.1.0-OFFICIAL), and flashed it successfully. However, since install, I've been getting notifications from UpdateMe about upgrading to 3.1. Sure enough, I checked the 'About' section and it claims I'm running version 2.6 of the ROM, and version 4.1.2 of Android. Most annoyingly, I tried downloading the supposed 3.1 update from UpdateMe, only to get an error every time I try to download it (though I have used it to download other add-ons flawlessly). Any ideas what could be happening?
EDIT: Just for clarification, I did a full wipe/cache-clearing prior to installing the new ROM.
Thank you,
RMJ

If you read the FAQ link, which is right below the download link in the SlimRom thread you would find this:"I get an error when downloading the update with UpdateMe"
We don't support OTAs at the moment.
Please download the newest version of our ROM from the website.

That's the problem, though: I HAVE the newest version (as far as I can find) downloaded and flashed. I'm looking at it right here, file name is Slim-i727-3.1.0-OFFICIAL.zip. However, upon flashing it, my phone says 2.6. And I did read the FAQ, that's the minor part of the question I asked, I just thought I should include it for detail.
That said, let me repeat: Why would a downloaded 3.1 version of SlimBean give me 2.6?
Okay, I solved the problem by reflashing (again), and it's finally 3.1. Not sure why it wasn't working before. Anyway, thanks for the [lack of] help!

Sounds to me like you may have flashed the ota update fix which, if flashed after 3.1, would revert your build.prop to the earlier version. If that's the case, there's no need. The updater app issue was corrected with 3.1 and you would have known that if you read the whole thread. In fact, this exact problem was already discussed in the slim thread. Reflashing the 3.1 build is the only fix.

I just updated my phone to Gingerbread and now it seems to have some problems.
1st - It will not install any apps. It does a quick restart everytime it starts installing an app
2nd - There is no longer any snooze button when i set an alarm.
Anyone have any idea what I might have done?
Here are the phones specs
Firmware version 2.3.5
Baseband version t959vukd1
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7-t959vuvkg4-cl385158
Build number Ginberbread.vuvkg4
Get yourself a KJ6 based ROM. Right now you have a KG4 rom which was a leaked version of Gingerbread. KJ6 is based off of 2.3.6, which is newer and has been officially released by Samsung.

Flashing that way requires you to have Clock Work Recovery Mod (CWM) installed. If you have it, that's how you would flash it. If not, then go back into the dev section and look for RaverX3X's ODIN version of KJ6 stock.
Thank you i will see if i can find it.

The download should only have the 1 file; it goes into the PDA section. Let ODIN decide what's checked & not checked.
I rooted and installed cyanogenmod for my sensation a few months ago. According to the change log, i have CyanogenMOd-7.1.0-SelfKANG10-Sensation. What is the fastest and easiest way to update to the latest version which i assume is cm-9.1.0-pyramid.zip from here:http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=pyramid. can anyone please tell me how i can go about updating to this version. If this helps, about in settings tells me i have 2.3.7 android version and the mod is "CyanogenMOd-7.1.0-SelfKANG10-Sensation" I would appreciate someone telling me the easiest way to upgrade to this.new version. Thanks so much in advance

That guide is fairly general in that it just refers to the 'latest version of CyanogenMod'. So yes as per the OP of the thread I linked you to you will need to install 3.32 firmware. You could install over your current ROM if you really wanted but I'd recommend a full wipe for a nice clean installation.
CM7 is Gingerbread based and CM9 is ICS based so yes you will end up with a newer version of Android, hence the need for the newer firmware.

Firmware isn't removed with the wipe so it doesn't matter too much. I would wipe, install new firmware, install ROM and you should be good to go :good:
Make sure you do a nandroid backup before you start anything, if things go pear-shaped you'll want it. Also make sure you have access to a copy of your current firmware, if you have to restore your nandroid backup AFTER installing the new firmware it won't work as the firmware will no longer match, so you'll have to roll that back too.
As can be gleaned from the thread title, I install the latest Synergy ROM (484) and my camera app crashes as well as GPS failing to lock on. I have tried different camera apps and using GPS Status. Does anyone know of a fix, as I've tried searching through the 3000 page forum? LOL
Thanks in advance for any help

Doubt if anyone has a fix because the ROM is not broken. I've used the last 3 builds and never had a problem. Download fresh and wipe and try again. I recommend starting with the included stock kernel. and oh yes, make sure you are on the correct modem firmware wince the ROM does not install that.
Bad download? Try downloading again.

Did you superwipe? Flash any firmware update?
Firmware is key. Not all roms have been rebased to match the newest. Make sure you flash the firmware with .Tz file. Seen pages of people with camera problems on synergy because of this.

Tried that. *Sigh* I think I am going to go to a different ROM, not having the Camera work is a dealbreaker. Whether it's ignorance on my part, or lack of documented resolutions for this problem that I have seen others have, I can't go this long without it.
Maybe flashing another ROM and coming back at a later time may solve the issue.

like this rom
i like this rom only had a few problems but after a reboot seams to be working good again
I have the weirdest thing happening. I'm on stable 7 and have been for quite a while. It's worked perfectly until a couple days ago and now I can't send text messages out. I think I can receive OK. Just can't send out. I've even tried doing a clean install of this and other ROMs with same result. It gets more odd... After toying with it I can send only one text out. Just one to any person. But I can't send another unless I reboot or I think wait a few hours. Upon reboot I again can send only one text message out. And so on. I have no clue what could be happening. Any ideas?

I had that problem when I was using certain builds. I had to drop modem back to BMB1. After that I could send with no issue. I, too could only send one text at a time.

Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
Hi, I just loaded up Slimkat 4.4.4 with the stock kernel on my Verizon Galaxy S3. I used to use the Wifi Tether TrevE Mod with my previous version and that worked, however, this does not appear to work in this rom. I noticed there was a built in Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, which does work perfectly. I would like to use this but am just concerned that somehow VZ would know I am tethering and I would incur additional charges. Do I have anything to worry about or am I just being paranoid?
Thank you for a GREAT product, it's a spectacular rom.
