[Q] Reboot After A Few Seconds In Recovery?

Hello- I have been very upset lately that Rogers refuses to push any updates at all for the HTC Magic. I was sick of having a market place filled with old apps. Plus 1.5 is very laggy.
Anyways, so I decided to root. I used the guide for getting around the 911 "fix" and I was able to load a rom of a copy of the rogers rom with super user permissions. But that's as far as I got.
Now, I flashed the RA Recovery V.1.7.0H via Rom Manager. When I boot into recovery all goes well, I see the recovery screen and everything. But a few seconds later my phone reboots and kicks me out of recovery. This also happened with the clockwork recovery.
I have an HTC Magic 32A. Any help at all would be appreciated as it's not fair that Rogers is allowed to ruin my experience with the Android OS.

[Q] I can't flash away from Cyanogen 6.0 on Evo

I'm new to rooting, and new to flashing roms, i downloaded rom manager but it wasn't letting me flash Cyanogen 6.0, So i go to the cyanogen website and follow their instructions to flash CM6 on to my HTC Evo.
It worked, but I disliked the rom and wanted to go back to Baked Snack, so I load up rom manager and tell it to restore to the backup I did before flashing and it won't. it starts to, and aborts, or it half flashes it and i've got this /really/ ugly pesudo htc sense with no apps that takes 20 minutes to load and the market crashes as soon as you open it.
i've flashed back to Cyanogen for the time being cause I want to have a working phone, but I want to get away from Cyanogen, I like HTC sense, and i liked Baked snack.
can anyone help me? I think the problem is the Hboot from when i did the engineering spl step of Cyanogens evo walkthrough..

[Q] Help Required With Installing A Custom ROM

Hi,
I have Googled around quite a bit and have attained enough knowledge to be able to run custom ROMs on my HTC Desire. Presently, I am running the Desire with S-OFF and the Sense partition image.
Here's the issue I am facing. My phone only seems to be able to run Cyanogenmod (any version) or MIUIROM (any version). Apart from these two ROMs, it's not able to get anything to work. Other ROMs install well using Clockwordmod Recovery, but I can't get the phone to boot into the ROM. The only thing that shows during the boot is the "AlphaRev" bootscreen (The one with the Why So Serious joker image). I have read that ROMs take time to stabilize on first run and hence left the phone in the boot state for quite some time (once for almost 6 hours), but nothing happened. Any help at all would be appreciated. I really want to expand my boundaries beyond CM7 and MIUIROM. Please take time out to help this Android fan
Here's my config again:
1) HTC Desire Rooted
2) S-OFF using Alpha-Rev
3) 4 GB microSD with 1 GB ext. Rest is FAT
4) CM7RC4 or MIUIROM depending on my mood.
5) Clockworkmod Recovery 2.5.0.7
6) Sense image by AlphaRev
7) Data2Whatever 0.4d for managing ext

[Q] Problems with Android revolution 6.1 & 7.1

I recently bought HTC ONE X and decided to install Android Revolution HD 7.1.
I unlocked first the bootloader, installed Clockworkmod recovery (5.8.18 or 5.8.28), then installed the zip file plus "super wipe" in the phone's virtual memory, run first the superwipe and then the romzip 7.1.
It took about 10-12 minutes to load the rom, everything was ok but there was no network signal. I tried to switch off the device and insert again the sim card but did not work.
Then i restored the original rom, did the same things again but this time I installed Android Revolution HD 6.1. The network signal was fine but as soon as I was dragging the ring to unlock the screen there was a message " Unfortunately, android.secure.acore stopped unexpectadly" or something like this and the screen turns black, no icons, nothing.
So I installed again the original rom.
Please, any suggestions how to fix this ?
